Family Dentistry of Port Charlotte

Negative experience: Equipment is always broken. Water squirting out of instruments & dripping on you & the floor. TV in operatory is upside down while you are sitting in the chair, with no sound. It is not a very pleasant experience.

Negative experience: Upon arrival for my 1Pm appointment for cleaning , I was told " Wait outside " staff is at lunch ! ! ! Guess how THAT worked out

Fantastic experience: I became a new patient last week while my mouth was infected and swollen from a tooth infection,I was able to be seen the next day and the dentist and staff were very detailed in getting me on a positive path to correct the issues.The dentist was very supportive and assured me there wouldn’t be much discomfort during the oral surgery,I’m very grateful for himself and staff in keeping me calm during this process and also commend the front desk ladies for being so kind and accommodating.I definitely found a great dentist !!!!!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I recently established as new patients at Family Dental. We were so pleased with our reception and our comprehensive dental exams and treatment. We were welcomed by the friendly staff. The exam rooms are well appointed and our dental hygienist, Jen, is both friendly and professional. Everything was explained during the the duration of the visit. After thorough X-rays and meticulous cleaning were completed, we met Dr Richard. He has a sense of humor and was thorough and professional as well. All in all we were both very pleased and would highly recommend the care of this office.

Fantastic experience: I went today on 8/19/25. I have been quite hestiant to go to the dentist, due to poor reviews and the ones my insurance also recommended sucked. I received a flyer it actually catch my eye. When I read the reviews and saw very good reviews, took a chance & made a appointment. I must say I was very impressed. It had been a long time to actually find a good dentist in the port charlotte, Fl area. Shout out to Jen my hygienist loved her she was so sweet. All I can really say From Dr. Richard and the rest of the staff . The office is very clean and update. I highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Painless procedure, easy appointment, great staff!

Negative experience: I will not return to Family Dentistry in Port Charlotte again. The lack of care or concern for my dental needs and my overall health caused from my dental problems is the first reason. I have been dealing with an infection for quite some time and he didn't care about the pain and especially the negative effects it is having on my overall health. He said I need root canals and crowns. He could've offered to do pulp caps or any other treatments that are available but he pushed root canals and crowns on me. He prescribed antibiotics for 14 days the first time I asked but nothing for discomfort and pain. The second time he only prescribed 7 days worth of antibiotics and again nothing for pain and discomfort. The simple fact he didn't care about my pain and discomfort is another big reason I won't go back. The second appointment I went to the office and they had to rescheduled my visit pushing my care out another week and half almost 2 weeks. When I was finally seen almost 2 weeks later he did fillings but he didn't do a good job. There's a big gap between 2 teeth now where he did the filling that wasn't there before not to mention they are my front teeth. I'm still feeling discomfort from the work he did and I'm almost 100% confident it's due to the poor job he did. The entire dental and healthcare industry does everything they possibly can to keep making people sick. It's all about greedy health professionals trying to fill their pockets regardless of long lasting effects. They don't care if they are making their patients sick or that they are keeping patients sick. It's all about job security and greed. Dentists do 25 million crowns every year knowing that out of 5,000 crowns that they do 4,999 end up infected. Causing so many different health problems, diseases and even linked to causing cancer. The fact that they continue to push people to get crowns done knowing what it does to our health is horrible and disgusting. The main reason I won't return to Family Dentistry in Port Charlotte Florida is because he continued to tell me to go get root canals and crowns done as well as everything else I previously stated.

Fantastic experience: Love this place! I’ve seen a few different hygienists and two fantastic doctors here, and every single visit has been great. I split my cleanings with a specialist, and even they’ve noticed the difference—my BOP is down 73% (that’s a big deal for gum health!). Everyone, from the front desk to the back, makes you feel welcome and cared for. Feels like family every time I walk in. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I’ve went to this dentist for 6 years and they have went though 6 different dentists.I had two front teeth break off and the dentist and hygienist ruined my teeth because the replacement fell out from their work and a week later they were both no longer employed there. I went back and they wanted to charge me 1400 dollars more after what I had already paid because of their shoty work!!

Fantastic experience: This place is the best! I have put off the dentist for so long because of the fear I have had since I was a child. Family Dentistry of Port Charlotte got me scheduled within 1 week. The dentist Dr. Delboccio put me at ease while filling a cavity on the first visit, yes, you heard that right...the very first visit because it was really bothering me. Chennai his assistant was so good that I didn't feel a thing. She was so calming and talked me through each part of the exam while Barbara the hygienist poked at my teeth to get the measurements. I usually cry during this part, but I barely felt anything. I knew I would need a deep cleaning since it has been so long since I've been to the dentist. They had an opening that week and got me done. Afterwards Barbara explained what I needed to do to keep my gums healthy. She answered every question I had. I have found my forever dentistry in Family Dentistry of Port Charlotte. Thank you to everyone who works there. You are all AWESOME!!

Fantastic experience: I've been looking for a dentist for over a year, I've had some of the worse experiences from other offices though finding one that works for my budget as well as my health. Family dentistry of portcharlotte have helped me immensely. They are kind,knowledgeable,patient and quick at getting you in and seen. I recently had wisdom extractions, I had no brusing minimal pain and the recovery process was quick and easy. I appreciate everything they have done for me in my journey of getting a better smile!

I needed 2 teeth filled and he did it in the same visit to save me from another visit. I was very happy, will be going back to have more work done. Fantastic experience: Great office and Staff. Had to have my crown removed and re-done. Normally, the temporary covering and work is awkward and never truly fits your mouth but Mason, not only has great bedside manner, but he also built a temporary crown with pure excellence. It fits my mouth as if it's my actual tooth and I don't feel any difference. I'm grateful and surprised because that is not normally the case. I appreciate the excellency of Mason's work and appreciate Dr. Beboccio for identifying the rot in the crown and knowing that it needed replacing. Jennifer at the front desk is also outstanding; kind and considerate, with a fabulous sense of humor. Thank you!

Positive experience: They got me an appointment in a timely manner for a damaged filing in my front tooth. They were very communicative in all that needed to be fine and what my options were. I chose to get my tooth filled instead of getting expensive crowns. I will say that I am not happy with the filling as it is rough on the outside ( not sure if that is normal or not). The doctor came and re- polished it and said the roughness will wear off over time...I don't feel this correct.

Fantastic experience: Its difficult to describe this place adequately in a few lines. I will recount My latest experience. Yesterday, I had an extraction at the office of an oral surgeon in Cape Coral. I arrived at the office of the oral surgeon a half hour early and sat there a half hour past my appointment. While highly competent, the experience was clinical and impersonal. Add this to the anxiety. From there, I went directly to Family Dental for crown prep and temporary crown placement. I arrived 45 minutes early to a familiar team who said, 'we have you signed in Pam.' as I walked in the door. The numbness had worn off on the drive back. The word was passed from the front desk to the medical team and they came to get me. I know this is an extreme experience but it has been like this since day one. Pam Comstock Port Charlotte

Negative experience: I will be looking for a different dental provider. They have expectations from the patients they don’t set for themselves. They can have emergencies but God forbid you cancel on the same day…you get penalized. Will be my last visit here

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Delboccio and Mason his tech. They were extremely nice and made me feel comfortable during my filling experience. Mason was very helpful and put on the best music to help distract me! 100% recommend Family Denistry of Port Charlotte!

Negative experience: So I’ve been going to this dental office for maybe four years now and it seems like they always have a new dentist and new staff. Sometimes the staff are friendly sometimes they’re not the other day I had A little piece of filling come off of my front filling and I just wanted to get it smooth down so they did x-rays for no apparent reason. There was nothing wrong with my tooth just two months ago. I had the front filling put on there and they had x-rays of it to put on that front filling. It was $500 Well yesterday I paid $256 for yet another new Dentist to come in for two seconds and just smooth that little piece down so I couldn’t feel it. He literally took the drill and hit my tooth two times and charged me $256. I’m sorry but that is a lot of money for five seconds of work and like I said every time I go there there’s new staff and new dentists. I don’t know what’s going on with this place but it’s definitely gone downhill since I started going there if you wanna overpay for your dental work and have things done that don’t need to be done like x-rays every single time you walk in the door for no reason then go here. Oh, and I have dental insurance, but for some reason, my insurance didn’t cover the dentist from filing down my filling for two seconds … So what do we pay insurance for every month if things aren’t covered?

Fantastic experience: Thank you for making me so comfortable during my first and second visit to your office! My first visit for a new patient exam was handled from the front desk to the exam room very professionally and on time. The assistant who took my X-rays was very personable and the hygienist Dalia (I know I spelled this wrong) was very nice also. When I came back for my appointment with her she could not have been sweeter or more attentive to my care. I’m quite the dental scaredy cat so I really appreciated how at ease she made me feel! She also explained things very clearly. They are also very up front about your fees and giving you as much insurance information and co pays as possible!

Negative experience: My initial experience was positive, but once the real work began, everything changed dramatically. I was informed that, clinically, they were meeting requirements and would not address my issue. The office manager accused me of being disrespectful and disregarded my privacy by opening the door, making our conversation public. Additionally, the staff turnover is high; I've seen 4 different doctors in just two years. It's unfortunate!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Richard was very kind. He did a great job of explaining everything to me. I certainly will continue to see him as my dentist. His assistant Miss Evette- no words can describe the kindness and comfort she showed me. Very personable, very knowledgeable and so kind. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Negative experience: Review on whoever it is that is answering the phones. She answered the phone with an off putting tone to start then she acted like I should know that Dr Smith isn’t in there practice anymore and told me my insurance would be out of network now. Unhelpful and not friendly.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this dentist since 2016- A great crew. They have had several changes in dentists, which can be a bummer but they always seem to get a better one. Other than that, a very good caring clinic.

Fantastic experience: Family Dentistry went above and beyond this week. I had a very bad toothache and the office staff, Stacy and Jennifer, cared enough to fit me in for an appointment even though the office was totally booked. Dr. Smith and Yvette did a root canal and treated an infection with expertise, care and compassion. Everyone was efficient, conscientious and so pleasant to work with. Family Dentistry is a great practice and I am happy to be their patient.

Positive experience: My first visit, Jen the hygienist was super thorough. She explained everything. Dr. Smith spent exactly 2 minutes with me. Being as I have no cavities, maybe that's a good thing. I am going back for a deep cleaning. The staff was very helpful with options for the bill.

Fantastic experience: This was the absolute best dental visit, you sit in a massage chair, you listen to beautiful music while watching beautiful fish swim on the ceiling and across from you. The bathroom is gorgeous. The front desk staff is so kind and the reminders for your appointments is crazy. If you forget your appointment, something is wrong with you. No other doctor's office would call you to tell you the dr is running 30 minutes late so come a little later. SCORE, I got to do two more errands before arriving. Dr. Nick is something else as well, so pleasant and charming and born on the same day as me. That makes him #1 in my book. The Madhatter story was well received, I already told my husband.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a cleaning and exam. My hygienist Amanda was fantastic. I have very sensitive gums, and the numbing gel rubbed and inserted on your gums took the pian away. Plus, the dentist and the staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend them.

All Aspen Dental wants to do is upcharge you for stuff you don't need and if you don't do what Aspen Dental says you need done then Aspen Dental won't do anything for you. Family Denistry will treat you like Family. I think you will feel the same way I do.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit as a new patient, and everything went very smoothly. I was attended to by three people, and each person was very polite and efficient. I was informed of everything that was being done and all my questions were answered to my complete satisfaction.

Fantastic experience: I've had an issue with my mouth for quite sometime. I spoke with my previous dentist about half a swollen face and throbbing pain. However, that dentist had no solution and told me there was nothing he could do, and only gave me very minimal advice that led to nowhere. I came across Family Dentistry when checking my mail and decided to give these guys a chance to get a second opinion at least. Not only was I pleased with the office, but they have very welcoming hygienists and hard-at-work front desk clerks. They looked at my mouth and explained to me about gum overgrowth along with options and SOLUTIONS to maintain it. I couldn't help but tear up as I felt heard. With what I was prescribed, I'm on the road to fixing this problem and I'm grateful for the staff and their dentist Annie Smith for listening, educating, and helping me.

Fantastic experience: The dental hygienist was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. She gave me good advice on taking care of my teeth and did a great job cleaning my teeth. Hope to see her next time. Did not have to wait long in the waiting room either. Great experience overall in the office.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely too notch .. Excellent Dr...and the tech that took care of me , so polite , caring and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable... I have severe TMJ and very limited movement in my jaw . unable to get X-rays .. she asked the Dr to come in and find a more painless way for the X-rays ... thank you for caring.
