Negative experience: I have had braces for five years, and I still have a twisted front tooth. The button is placed in the center of my front tooth and pushed it straight back rather than turning the tooth so it is in alignment with the others. I voiced my concerns with the dentist and she told me that the computer decides the placement of the button in a tone that said, “YOU ARE STUPID.” Smiles does not listen to their clients. Five years of having the ugly buttons on my teeth has challenged my patience.

Negative experience: Very disappointed in the Dentist, his approach and his dentistry. Work was done roughly, temps were a disaster. Setting in crown was painful.The cleaning gal was great. The feeling my wife and I have and can validate is he will find work in your mouth, extra crowns, fillings.. anything. We are going back to our trusted dentist in Vancouver who is worth the 140 miles round trip.

Negative experience: I went in for a dental clearance to make sure I had no infections so I could have a surgical procedure. The hygienist said I had no infection whatsoever and called the dentist in after a full cleaning and x-rays and the dentist looked at my x-rays and said the same thing, but said I may have one small cavity starting under one crown, and possibly another under another crown that I may need to look at in the future, but no infections whatsoever. After the cleaning and inspection, I was walked up to the front desk and then I presented them with my dental release form which they took back to the dentist and promptly returned and said they would not sign until I took care of both of the crowns first. I pointed out on the sheet that it said I had no current infections and they agreed that I had none but potentially in the future if I didn’t take care of this small cavity that I may in the future have an infection so they wanted me to take care of both of these crowns within the week at a cost of almost $3300 otherwise they would not sign off on my dental clearance for my surgery. It was literally blackmail unless I did business with them. Two hours later, I went to another local dentist and they had the x-rays, the exact x-rays that smiles dental took transferred over to their office. They inspected the x-rays, had me seated in their chair and did a full inspection themselves by their dentist and gave me a clean bill of health and said I passed with flying colors with no infections whatsoever and signed off on my dental clearance for my surgery. I would not recommend smiles dental in Longview Washington to anyone. The last time I was there, they treated me very similarly and I thought it was a one time occurrence. They are a greedy up-selling business, do not do business with them at all. Dr. Pham at Rainier dental is fantastic and is highly recommended far better than smiles dental.

Dr. Youseff is super down to earth and does everything he can go fix your smile while considering your insurance. There was a minimal wait to see the dentist for his evaluation. He was clear in his assessment and took into account my financial constraints when we discussed prioritizing my next treatments necessary. The after care was detailed and helped me run through my future steps in my dental care. Can’t really ask for more.

Negative experience: I had an appointment yesterday morning with Dr DeBuck, whose dental assistant (I don't recall her name) was extremely rude to me. I was confused as to what I was there for because I keep getting told different things by different people. I’m getting dental implants. She thought I was getting dentures. She’s assisting the dentist, but doesn't even know the reason I’m there. (Strike 1).

Negative experience: I'm afraid I have to edit my glowing review of smiles dental. They were really good until about 2 years ago. Then they hired a couple of dentists who were like used car salesmen, recommending procedures that were not necessary. The last time I went I was told that I had to have a crown on a tooth. I went and got a second opinion from a dentist who I really respect and he said that the tooth was fine and didn't need any work at the moment. I will never go back there, and I can no longer recommend this place. Even my hygienist left for a different dentist to work for because of the culture at that office.

I had some urgent dental work in another state and found my Medicare advantage plan has some remaining fund that I can do a cleaning. Called several dental office in network list that unable to schedule till called to them. They get me in in two days with one trip. great from the beginning! Sarah RDH was kind, professional and helped me fill the paperwork and cleaned my teeth thoroughly. I scheduled a bridge work next year here. Came out, the office provide me the estimate of the bridge. Very professional and efficient team focused on patient. Very appreciated and pleased. Thank you very much!

Negative experience: Another Monday apt where I was forced to wait an excessive amount of time without interaction from anyone on multiple occasions. Started with the front desk checking in another person with the same first name. I'm still sitting here waiting for someone at 3 when my quick apt was at 2. They have no concept of appointment times and all their staff seem very unhappy.

Fantastic experience: I had a really good experience. I got nervous because I got so comfortable with the previous dentist From a couple years back that left to open his own practice. My first experience was with Dr. Kim in August which I found him to be a little rude and called my previous dentist to see if my insurance would cover another exam right after that appointment. I went back for treatment at the end of September and the Dr who did my work was excellent. Made me feel comfortable. Will return to him in the future.

Fantastic experience: I live in Astoria where the first available appointment with any dentist from here to Seaside is a minimum of 6 months! So when my friend recommended Smiles and Dr. Youssef, saying it wouldn't be that long I was going to call them assuming perhaps 2 - 3 months. I hadn't gotten around to calling yet when disaster struck! My front bottom tooth filling came out and I was not an established patient anywhere! I called a place in Seaside that someone else had recommended and was told... APRIL! So without much hope I called Smiles on Wednesday and they said...How about tomorrow at 2pm? I said yes immediately and then thought I should ask about their prices as I have no dental insurance. I'm going to preface this next bit by assuring everyone that I don't work for them and I'm not getting paid for this review... They have a plan for $299 / year that includes a comprehensive exam with xrays and 2 cleanings as well as 25% off all fillings etc. you need done. Check with them for details. But I gladly paid the $299, got my digital x-rays taken by the very capable and professional Patricia (no more lead aprons!) followed by a thorough explanation from Dr. Youssefin which he prioritized the work I need to have done and answered all my questions. This was all great, but it had not been promised that they would have time to do my filling though they said they'd try. Well I'm happy to say they did! It's the most unnerving thing to have your tooth feel rough and as though it might split just by biting your lip! I will return for my now paid for cleaning, as will my husband. I'm so happy to have found this VERY modern office where everyone in the office was kind, professional, courteous, and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. Thank you Smiles! I'll be back!

Fantastic experience: Sarah was extremely patient and knowledgeable. She has been the most polite hygienist I’ve ever experienced. She made the entire process very tolerable and enjoyable. She clearly has passion for her profession.

Negative experience: Horrible dentist. My dentist didn't even look in my mouth during the exam. He only looked at X-rays. He said I needed a root canal I got a second opinion and they said it was only a small cavity. The office staff are so noisy. It sounds like you're at a bar.
