Fantastic experience: Had a scheduled routine cleaning but then chipped a tooth and asked if they could repair the tooth during the same visit. No issues. Over the weekend before the appointment, one of my crowns came loose. Not only did I get a cleaning but they fixed my chipped tooth and reseated my crown in the same visit. Fantastic service!

Fantastic experience: We all need to go to the dentist, and it’s never fun. But I always have a pleasant experience at Island Dental. I enjoy catching up with my hygienist and each time I see the dentist he is always professional and cheerful. Maybe I’m lucky but I’m usually in and out fairly quickly for my cleaning.

Fantastic experience: I broke a crown on a Sunday. I emailed Island Dental through their website. I got a call early Monday morning from a very kind receptionist who got me scheduled Monday morning. I was unable take the Monday morning appointment, so she promised to call if there was a cancellation. She called back and they got me in Wed. afternoon. I med Dr. Martin and his assistant Sam. What a great team. Dr. Martin was gentle and spoke to me during the process explaining what was taking place and what I might expect/feel, etc. Very kind and very professional. Sam has this great energy and great attitude and sense of humor. My experience has been excellent so far. Although the temp came off last night, Dr. Martin had warned me of that as well since the tooth is so small and flat. I glued it back on and called to see if the perm crown might be in sooner than 2/15. The receptionist took my number and shortly thereafter, Dr. Martin called to see what was going on. Super sweet and super nice of him to take time out of a very busy practice to call me. The office is nice, clean and organized. The staff seems very nice!

Fantastic experience: I don’t have dental insurance anymore so last time I was there, I had to have an expensive procedure and they offered a zero interest 2 year plan or less you get to choose. I took the two year plan awesome then came in for a cleaning last week found out I had a cavity so came back in to get it fixed today and they just went ahead and added that onto my two year zero interest plan doesn’t get much easier than that! I’ve been coming here for a long time. I absolutely love Dr. Spellios and his staff. They’re absolutely amazing so helpful and wonderful.! my daughter she absolutely loves them too. She was in last week. She said she loves the dentist. It’s her favorite doctor. I said most people hate going to the dentist. She said not me. I said that’s because you’ve had the best experiences and you’re very lucky. Most people don’t get to have that. If you’re new to town and looking for a dentist or just looking for a new dentist, give them a try. Their dental hygienist are amazing. I haven’t had a bad cleaning yet. I don’t even stick with the same one. I don’t even care. I just let them place me with whoever is available Because it’s always a wait so just get me in as soon as possible!! Well , you know every six months and if I miss it then it’s as soon as possible!

Positive experience: A bit pushy on the extra services. Aside from that they seem to be reasonably priced and the services rendered met or exceeded expectations.

They did the initial exam on my 6yo and found a mouthful of cavities and referred us to a specialist. Out of network for our insurance but still very reasonable.

Dr Amy is a great dentist, she took good care of me from beginning to end along with her assistants; I had many questions and she explained everything to me in a very clear and honest way. She fixed two cavities on the same session, she was very delicate with her hands and constantly making sure I was fine. She did a great job at a very reasonable price, which was important to me as I had previous experiences were the bills were insanely high. I also appreciated the fact that during the consultation visit they accepted X-Rays taken at another dental office, saving me money for new ones. The office is very clean and well equipped and the staff very friendly and always willing to help both over the phone and in person. I feel grateful to have found Island Dental.

They were able to see me right away on Monday AM and were able to get another temp crown placed on my tooth and have me back to enjoying my vacation again. Positive experience: I have a long history with island dental since arriving to Key West in 1989 and seeing Dr Mayfield who was the gentlest and kindest dentist I’ve known. I have also had a great experience with all of the dental hygienists who have worked on me through the years. Overall, I have had no complaints about the practice and appreciate their professionalism and friendliness. I had not had any dental needs since Dr Mayfield retired 8 years ago so last week when one of my fillings cracked, I needed to see someone. I take a holistic approach to health and wellness and have been interested in finding a holistic or biological dentist. The only dentist in my area who remotely fit this description was Dr Eaton because on his online profile I read of his “over 3000 hours of continuing education in dental field, nutrition, and alternative complimentary medicine”. This was encouraging but even better, “he is trained in Biologic and Holistic dentistry and is board certified in Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine and the American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board”. I was very much looking forward to speaking with him and coming face to face with someone I can ask questions and get insights. Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t a positive one. Dr Eaton did not seem as eager to work on me and when I asked if he could also fix the second small cavity visible on the x-ray, he told me I needed a dental exam and x-rays. He was with me a total of 30 minutes and I wished he had fixed the second issue which was on the same side of the mouth and completely numb. After getting home I spent hours with a numb side and then into the night with pain on that side. How unfortunate I felt to know that I will have to undergo sedation and discomfort all over again in the same area of the mouth when I feel it could have been taken care of that morning. Additionally, he advised me to avoid eating hard nuts because my top back molar had a sharp point and could crack the bottom tooth he had just worked on. Well, I consider nuts healthy and are in fact a big part of my diet, so I asked if he could just grind that sharp peak down a bit. Which he did. Hopefully it was the appropriate thing to do and my bite will not be affected. But shouldn’t he had offered a solution as he is the trained professional? Overall, my questions were haphazardly answered and I walked out dissatisfied with the interaction both professionally and socially. Was I wrong to expect friendly professionalism? I have always liked Island Dental and I only wrote the review after being prompted to do so. Perhaps it is time for Dr Eaton to retire after over 40 years of experience, seems he has lost the passion for the work and is no longer a good fit with the rest of the staff. Or maybe he was just having an off day.

True caring professional's. Along with the specialist that comes in for extractions and implants are some of the best I’ve experienced.

Fantastic experience: I’m from Buffalo NY and in Key West for the month of March. My crown fell out while here. I have Delta Dental coverage and went online to see who would accept my insurance and Island Dental came up first, called the office at 1130am and was seen at noon that day. Walked into a beautiful office of smiling beautiful friendly faces. Took care of me and gave me their assessment of my situation and was out of there in 1 hour.
