Fantastic experience: Everyone knows that going to the dentist is not something we enjoy doing. However, my first visit to Rome Smiles was extremely pleasant (how often can you say that about going to the dentist?), informative and Dr. Shepherd and Becca give you their undivided attention and hear what you have to say. They know what they are doing and their knowledge is endless. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who also showed me around their offices and all of the services they have to offer. I'm so glad to have found them-definitely five star service and care.

After years of being afraid to go back to the dentist due to prior negative experiences with other places, I knew it was time to go back, and Rome Smiles was recommended to me. Everyone who works here was so welcoming and kind to me at literally every moment and took away every bit of dental anxiety I had! Fantastic experience: I called for an emergency visit. I needed a honest second opinion and they gave me just that. They were able to save one of my molars. Brandy was so nice and explained everything so well I didn’t even have any additional questions to ask due to her touching on everything. Both Dr. Shepherd and Dr. Patel were awesome!! I never been to a dentist office where I can tell they actually cared and wanted to make sure I was satisfied with my service. They definitely have a new patient :)

Fantastic experience: On my new patient first visit, I was greeted warmly and given a personal tour of the dental clinic. I was shown diagnostic equipment which is high tech, and introduced to all staff, which was welcoming. After a thorough inventory of my history and my teeth, the Dental Assistant did an excellent deep cleaning of my teeth. The Dentist, Dr. "Scott," was extremely professional and caring. He made recommendations based on my X-rays. From start to finish, my first experience at Rome Smiles was outstanding - beyond my expectations!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience! Went in they gave me a tour of the office and made sure I was well aware of anything that was going to happen, even made small talk with me about my life. And set me up for my future appointments and what is going to happen at them. And I was very pleased with my teeth just after my first cleaning! No need to leave the office or go see other doctors as they can go most things in office!

I have always been tense about these, but they do a fantastic job of making me comfortable which is part of making it painless. They continuously check to ensure that the numbing is thorough. Dr. Patel was very straightforward, to the point, and so kind. She took the time to walk me through the entire tooth extraction procedure and communicated in a way that really put me at ease and calmed my nerves. Fantastic experience: Extremely professional and welcoming staff! Went in with a severe tooth ache and Dr.Scott got me fixed right up. Root Canal, Crown, and pain free in about 3 hours. No wait time and very thorough communication on everything up front! Will be moving all of dental services to Rome Smiles..

Fantastic experience: Awesome experience! I was experiencing a lot of tooth pain and was able to be seen next day (I called late in the day). Entire office staff was very friendly and helpful and a detailed plan was established and explained in great detail. I was out of pain within 24hrs and had my teeth clean and a plan moving forward to keep my teeth healthy. I highly recommend Romes smiles and a special thanks to hygienist Becka!

Fantastic experience: The doctors and staff of Rome Smiles is top notch. From the receptionist who greets you when you walk in to the person who takes your payment. Brandy is my favorite dental technician! Although they are all very sweet! She remembers all about my family and checks in on all of them whenever I come. She puts me at ease and makes the visit so pleasant. The other technicians also remember you and come in to chat if possible. Dr. Scott and Dr. Shepherd are so professional and knowledgeable you can’t help but be comfortable when they are working with you! Dr. Scott has worked miracles for me and I am so appreciative of him! It’s just a very friendly and enjoyable experience to visit Rome Smiles! I HIGHLY recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Three days after we moved our daughter from Colorado to Berry College, her Maryland bridge broke on a front tooth. Rome Smiles got her in within a few days, they were so kind to her during her visit and got her fixed in no time. So thankful to have a great dentist for her!

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing time with Rome Smiles on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. I had a new patient visit on Tuesday. On Wednesday I had a broken tooth, cavity and crown removed and replaced. I had 0% pain at any time!!!! Both the doctors and assistants were fantastic!! I’m sad that I had not taken advantage of my dental insurance for several years, but I’m very happy that I stayed with the Rome Smiles family!!!

But luck aside, their pricing is great and reasonable with or without insurance. Dr Scott was able to take care of it right away. Him and the 2 assistance are very good, professional, and friendly. I 100% recommend this place and I will be following up with them for my whole family’s future teeth needs.

(Yes, seriously) I look forward to Amy cleaning my teeth & seeing Dr. Hudson or Dr. Scharnhorst. Everyone in the office is so friendly and helpful. Update 6/21/25 - I saw a new dentist at Rome Smiles last week for my checkup. I can’t remember his name, but he was friendly and knowledgeable. And of course I love seeing Amy, my hygienist. She’s the best!

Negative experience: Worst experience I’ve ever had basically charged me $150 to tell me what I already knew was wrong gave a lot of invalid information and nobody really cared that I was in pain she made the hurt area hurt more and then sent me on my way suggesting I take over the counter meds for pain

Negative experience: New review, same stars: I decided to take the chance and come here because they were one of the few providers in the area that take Humana. I called over the phone to ensure that they took Humana and they told me yes. I waited 3 or 4 weeks from my appointment, after already having to wait 4 weeks for my insurance to kick in (not their fault) for a time sensitive gum infection. I arrive and give them my insurance card they tell me they're going to check my benefits. Before they do, they tried taking me back (presumably to get me on the hook for $$). I opted to wait until hearing about my coverage. THEN she tells me, that they don't actually contract with Humana. That they just can file out of network with Humana leaving me with a few hundred dollar bill for a NEW PATIENT EXAM. Those are typically free anywhere else you go. I don't appreciate being misled and then almost completely stuck with a huge bill for trying to rush me back without checking insurance. I wish 0 stars was an option. Very shady practice. Old review: The receptionist is very snotty over the phone. Hung up without saying bye because I told her I needed to compare prices a little bit (due to being with a job due to injury). Don't recommend.

Positive experience: Very high price for the dental team not to address the tooth pain I do have! Never addressed it. It’s about computers at this office .Tech who did my cleaning was all about computer and not about my time or the pain she caused. Front desk girl was super nice. Clean office!

Fantastic experience: Woke up one morning last week before an important trip with extreme pain in a tooth. I called Rome Smiles and they fit me in as an emergency. Everyone was friendly and kind from the office staff down to Dr. Shepherd. He found out what the problem was and adjusted a crown. Brilliant!! I highly recommend Rome Smiles and will be returning.
