Fantastic experience: Dr. Yusuf has been so amazing helping me with my treatment plan. It started out as an urgent tooth ache visit, which I was able to get in right away thanks to their practice manager, Gracie. Georgina is a wonderful dental assistant, she knew exactly how to calm me as I do get anxious due to past traumatic experiences with other dental offices. I don’t feel as anxious anymore.

Fantastic experience: Was my first time to visit Family Smiles Dental. The staff was very friendly and professional and I had my teeth cleaned and I’m going to get two implants which I thought were very reasonable. Highly recommend and everything was great.

Negative experience: Couldn't get my tooth numb for a root canal, started drilling 3 times before they injected the anesthetic in the right place to actually numb my tooth. Took so long the numbness started to wear off, obviously causing lots of pain, dentist said its okay were almost done so I had to endure the pain for another 10 minutes of drilling. Tooth is still not fixed, very sensitive when chewing over a year later. New dentist said they should have never been doing a molar root canal in the first place. I would never go back, nor could I ever recommend.

Fantastic experience: I came in with a broken wisdom tooth and a fear of needles. They were professional & I wish I had went in sooner. Overall, this was the best resolution under the circumstances.

Fantastic experience: The whole staff was so sweet. very informative. everything they did with my boys they explained . the dentist , I don't know how she does it because every time I've gone she's been in such a good mood and I'm a talker; every time I go I talk her head off but she does not seem to mind whatsoever. She will stop look me in my eyes even though it might put her behind because we're chit-chatting .a lot of dentists answer your questions and then just turn away. She seems like she thoroughly enjoys her job which is huge for me because there are a lot of crooked dentist out there. the whole staff was great I highly recommend this place. Not to mention the fact that the dentist herself is gorgeous and then the rest of the staff is right there along with her

Negative experience: My experience today went along with other people's reviews on here. First ,I will say the 2 office ladies were good people. I had a 1pm scheduled for a cleaning and I waited till 1:45pm to finally say to cancel my appointment. When one of the ladies asked one of the back technicians," if they saw my name". That tech just shrugged her shoulders like it wasn't her job to know. So,with that attitude and the length of time of waiting just confirmed alot of the reviews that were written here already. I dont want to waste my time coming back to see what else can happen. To the " person who can make a difference ". I suggest you take these reviews seriously, have a meeting, make corrections , and be done with it. Right now the common denominator is the facility. Just a suggestion

Fantastic experience: From beginning to end the staff was so kind. Ashley at the front greeted us with a smile, she answered any questions I had and also assisted me setting up future appointments. Dr. sudha Lakhwani is amazing! My daughter hadn’t had dental work in a very long time her patience, and the way she communicated with my daughter made her so comfortable, knowing she was in good hands. From her dental assistant who helped during the procedure along with X-rays etc, everyone is so kind! I made sure to switch youngest daughter’s dentist to this one so they could be together. But I myself am even looking forward to being seen and taken care of by this staff! Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️… it’s a wonderful thing to see people who are not only passionate about what they do but care.

Negative experience: Very Disappointing Experience I had a terrible cleaning service at this dentist’s office. The staff barely answered my questions, and the cleaning itself was incredibly poor. Honestly, I feel like I could’ve stayed home and brushed my teeth, and it would’ve been a better cleaning than what they did. They didn’t even clean or floss my dental bridge, which is a basic part of any cleaning. This was by far the worst dental visit I’ve ever had, and I will not be returning.

Negative experience: I went in for a cleaning ending up having 1 filling done. 1st of all their cleaning sucks. I don't recall them polishing my teeth or even flossing at the end of the cleaning. Then the Doctor who did my feeling made a comment that she went deeper than she thought and of course I was nervous. The next day my feeling came off and I was in pain. I went to another dentist because why would I go back to the one who put the feeling in? Showed him my Xray and said you probably didn't even need that feeling done but it is to late for me to tell since the work is already done. I ended up having to do a root canal. I was in Excruciating pain. The Main Dentist lady ( the lady that owns it i guess) was like why didn't you come back. Why would i go back if it wasnt done the right way to begin with. I've been calling the office for 3 weeks now to get a refund on the feeling that fell out and they keep giving me a run around. They keep saying the doctor will review it. It doesnt take this long to review what you did wrong. I ended up finding out the DR that did my feeling isn't there anymore. I do NOT recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: My son loves coming here. And they are so gentle and sweet with my 1 yr old. Super kind and friendly!

Negative experience: This place is super unprofessional! I went in for a basic cleaning and they refused to do it and said I needed a deep clean. I showed my X-rays they took to another dentist from San Antonio and he said I do not need a deep clean! They are just trying to rip me off by getting me to pay out of pocket for an unnecessary service. I will be contacting my insurance as well to report them for refusing a cleaning which is covered by insurance!

I most definitely recommend to family and friends setting an apt and getting in will not be a problem , they do well with reaching out before the apt to confirm and make sure anything didn’t come up .!! They are loving Its giving F A M I LY !!!

Fantastic experience: Amazing people had to get a tooth pulled and the tech that was helping was so kind as well as the dentist took a minute to get the tooth out but they helped measure me the hole way as someone with high anxiety this is so aging

Fantastic experience: Dr Sudah is really great our family just loves her!! I will not go any where else to get my teeth done Dr Sudah Is very patient with me and she cares.. Always gives me tips on how to relax while I'm getting my teeth done.

Negative experience: They made to re-schedule my appointment because I arrived 10 minutes the previous time and today I waited one hour and a half just for cleaning. I asked if I can leave without flossing because I didn’t want to wait any longer. I will never come back there.

Positive experience: They’re always nice but send a ridiculous amount of appointment reminders every time no matter how many times I confirm it. Kinda obnoxious but the staff is great.

Positive experience: Family Smiles Dental Staff is friendly and helpful. The staff explained the procedures and processes for cleaning and additional services. There was a wait due to limited hygienist and they apologized for the wait. I felt like my cleaning was super fast or maybe a rushed process. I prefer for them to use the manual cleaning machine/tool verse what was used on my teeth next time. Unfortunately, I still had plaque on my teeth afterwards. Overall service was fine.

Fantastic experience: My son had a skateboarding accident that caused injury to his permanent teeth. Dr. Lakhwani was awesome, patient, and empathetic to my sons needs. And the staff was great and super helpful. Dr. Lakhwani gave my son a hug on the way out because she knew my son took a bad hit on his skateboard after that initial even after his injury. Thank you Family Smiles. We’re on the road the recovery now!

Fantastic experience: I called to make a new patient appointment and they got me in that same day. I had r rays and a deep cleaning. My previous dentist told me I had a cavity in a tooth. This office told me it was already filled! I also saw kids and a mentally challenged teen and he left as happy as when he came out. Great office for all ages.

They have a very great staff that makes sure I understand everything they are doing to my children for their apt. My children love coming here I recommend. They see adults as well.

Everything is well organized... from the email reminders to texts with links so that forms can be filled out before the visit. I was impressed that staff not just the dentist took time to explain everything and check often during the cleaning to reassure my children. Would highly recommend!

Negative experience: I got wisdom teeth removed. I asked for laughing Gas and I had to remind them. When everything was over they just told me what medication to take and never asked me pharmacy anything. I had to have my husband call back to even ask what medication I was supposed to take because I couldn’t speak well. Ashley was sweet she offered me a blanket and helped me calm down. Go if you want just know you need to speak up and repeat everything to everyone you see bcuz the team seems to not communicate well with eachother. I was less than satisfied Im a grown women but I felt like if my mom was there maybe they would have taken me more serious. They were amazing when I was a kid idk what happened.

Negative experience: UNFORTUNATELY MY EXPERIENCE HASN'T BEEN GOOD...Yes NICE IS GOOD, BUT CONSISTENCY, FOLLOW UPS, COMMUNICATION IS TERRIBLE... GRACIE SEEMS OVERWORKED....THE DOCTOR ACTS CONCERNED (NOTICE I SAID ACT)... BEEN BACK AND FORTH WITH INSURANCE FOR A CLEANING SINCE OCTOBER, EVENTUALLY I HAD TO GO ELSEWHERE TO HAVE IT DONE... THEY HAVE BEEN FIXATED ON THAT ONE THING, WHEN THERE'S SEVERAL THINGS ON THE TREATMENT PLAN THAT WE COULD'VE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF..SMH....

The staff is always friendly and professional and they even put my favorite volcano documentaries on the tv to relax me while I awaited my extraction! I don’t get to the dentist often bc I don’t have insurance or extra funds to tend to my health, but when I do go this is my favorite dentist in town !! I highly recommend their services

Fantastic experience: No reason to ever be scared of the dentist anymore. No shots!!! Numbing gel is "da bomb". Had a filling and deep scale cleaning with zero pain or discomfort. Highly recommend this clinic for your entire family and friends. Not recommended for your enemies. Too nice and gentle for them. Great staff. Very attentive and professional. Negative experience: First time at this dental office and very dissatisfied and bothered with the services. My youngest was hurt while getting a simple routine done. To the point where I had to stop the girl from doing what she was doing. My son was in tears, and in discomfort. The outside of his mouth had bruises from the incorrect manner the nurse was doing the work. Also the communication was mind blowing. A simple cleaning turned into my last visit. I wished they done better job at communicating with the paren, making sure the patient was not being hurt and taking action to correct any issues. Also the reviews are off to me. As the office has a “Give us a good review and you’ll get a T-shirt”. So silly, but maybe that’s why they get the reviews and not for quality service.

They even offered a snack in case the patient blood pressure dropped from anesthesia and the assistant was good at distracting the patient from pain. I have fought with a few problem teeth that other dentist refused to pull for over 10yrs because I couldn't pay between $6,000-8000 for dental work they said I needed before they would fix the cracked teeth i had. I came to Family smiles yesterday. Everyone from the receptionist to the Dentist treated me so kindly. They told me what all I needed done and asked what I wanted done first. She pulled a wisdom tooth (with ease)that another dentist told me they couldn't pull. I ended up having 4 teeth removed and am in pretty minimal pain. Will recommend this office to anyone!
