At Western Dental & Orthodontics in Perris, we're all about teeth - young ones, old ones, shiny ones, crooked or chipped ones. Negative experience: Angela xray tech ok. But the dentist there wanted to rip me off telling me I needed a bone graph more than 500 dlls. I went to my dentist and didn't need that so yeah I'll never go there again

Fantastic experience: Front girls are always really nice to me. Patient coordinated I believe Emily is so nice as well and got me in when there was nothing available. Had to get root canal, will come back for crown. Dr Santos and Julie were amazingggggg and made this completely pain free.

Negative experience: Angela is very rude for no reason. She acts like she hates her job, nobody is forcing her to work there, she should just quit. Otherwise learn to treat patients better.

Negative experience: They are terrible doctors. My braces were put on incorrectly, and when I complained, they ignored me. Now they have damaged one of my molars and are refusing to acknowledge or take responsibility for their wrongdoing

Negative experience: Worst dentist I've ever delt with. The Dr's were nice. It was the staff that was awful. I was trying to get a root canal and crown taken care of there. And there were a lot of complications insurance wise. I had duel insurance and they had me pay out of pocket for the root canal. And told me if I did that, my insurance would cover the crown. Seeing it would be medically necessary. It took them a whole year to submit my prior auth. I would call every month or so to check the status or when I would come in for appts, I would be told the same thing " oh we are still waiting to hear back from your insurance" or "oh it will take about 2 to 6 weeks to hear back from the insurance". Or it would take them a while to even figure out what i was even talking about. This went on for a whole 12 months. Same excuses every time and when I would tell them that I was told that a few weeks ago they would just apologize and say they would call me with an update in a few days. Never happened. Then the manager tried to just have me pay about $1500 -$3000 for the crown. I had to switch dental offices because they were continuing with "it should take about 2-6 weeks to hear back". The new place only charged me about 900 for everything. And I know western dental still hasn't sent in my prior auth to the insurance. My insurance has no claim submitted yet. The neglect here is insane. I know im not their only patient and they are busy. But 12 months is ridiculous. They probably think im still waiting. Do not ever recommend. I have told family and friends to never give this place a chance. And I know they are going to respond stating they will be looking into this and apologize, maybe!. They won't. Unless they wanna give me my money back. Dont even bother. There's nothing you can look into to fix this. The other comments here obviously show nothing is getting done with this staff.

Negative experience: DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! This office has zero respect for patients’ time. They schedule appointments while the dentists are at lunch and then expect you to sit and wait. My appointment was at 1:30 and I was told I had to wait until 2:00—I clearly stated when I arrived that I was only there for a cleaning and see another office for orthodontics. After waiting 30 minutes for nothing, I was told I’d have to reschedule due to their miscommunication. When I expressed how upsetting that was, the general manager, Erica, stepped in and was extremely rude. Instead of apologizing or showing any sympathy, she insinuated I was lying about what I told the staff—despite the employee sitting right next to her confirming that I did tell them. Erica should take notes from the other front desk staff, who at least tried to explain the situation and take some accountability. This was a complete waste of time and incredibly unprofessional. I will not be returning and would not recommend this office to anyone who values basic courtesy and respect for one’s time.

Negative experience: This is for the office in Perris. Girls in the front rude and unprofessional starting with the management. Had my appointment at 9 am with two text messages, one phone call and an appointment card to confirm my appointment. The lady that seemed to be the manager said my appointment didn’t appear in the system but that she could do me the favor of scheduling me at 11.30am. I was there from 9am until 12.30 pm, until they decided to call me in, which made me lose my day of work. I’m planning to pay off my bill and not return to this establishment.

Negative experience: Came to visit out of town and my sister forgot to bring her elastics. While googling trying to find over the counter, we decided to call some dental offices to see if any were willing to sell some. We called this Western Dental and over the phone we made sure to let them know we were not patients but visitors and needed some ortho elastics. Upon arrival after i dropped off my sister, none of the receptionists wanted to own up their mistake of accepting our request. Erica was being very rude to my sister. My sister knows her dental routine and did not expect free packs. We were willing to pay as she is very attentive with her routine and wanted to make sure she did not mess up her alignment. Erica was trying to scold her and not really want to help her or provide great customer service. If they did not want to sell any packs they could of said no and whoever on the phone said yes to us, it was a mistake. We would of just moved on but instead she made a rude face and complained about having to make a fake item bill so they can actually bill it. Just say no instead of complaining and being rude and do a reminder to your staff about what services can be provided to outside patients or non patients.

Negative experience: I tried for 3 months to take out my wisdom tooth out and instead of getting the wisdom tooth out the dentist come into my room to grind my front teeth and told if I don't buy their treatment that my teeth are going to fall out and try to make pay for the treatment but I said no this lady tried to take my wallet from my pocket I was forced to buy the treatment and now my front teeth are getting bad because the treatment didn't work.

Negative experience: This office is so unprofessional. Never on time. I originally came for a wisdom tooth extraction, I came, waited 2 hours after my original appointment. Then was told I need to get some type of bone implant, BUT I have to pay 5,000 for that. Like why didn’t you tell me before I set the appointment and waited this long. Then all of a sudden the doctor is able to do the procedure without doing that extra bone implant, I just left. They are money hungry and not worth it! DO NOT SEE!!! I came the second time, now all of a sudden, this specific surgen requires the bone implant, made me drive all the way over here, call off work. I’m never going back!!!

Negative experience: I want to share my experience so YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I DID. I tried setting up an appointment and after reading all the horrifying reviews, I decided to call back and cancel my appointment. I asked the person helping me to confirm the appointment was cancelled, they said it was. Today i got a call saying I owe a cancellation fee and that THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF THE CANCELLATION. THE AUDACITY OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP TO TELL ME "WE DON'T HAVE RECORD OF THIS, SO IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE YOU CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT." AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.

Negative experience: Every single time I come here, I am never seen on time , I literally wait a hour and 30 mins , when my appointment are between the hours of 10/11 I don’t get seen until after their lunch, the woman are rude as hell , and shouldn’t have that type of attitude with lips fillers ,western dental sucks

Negative experience: Online it shows free dental exam and x rays. I booked an appointment through corporate and and the Perris location said that each location is different and they won't honor it. False advertising. Poor business practice.

Negative experience: I just want to start off by saying I honestly didn't feel like a patient or a person for that matter. They came across as very impersonal. After my x-rays were done the previous week I asked if my extraction was covered and they said "yes" as long as there are no complications. It was my first visit to this dental office. However the 5 minute visit from the dentist went something like this.. "you have some bone loss we have to remove several teeth have you thought about dentures!" Which totally took me off guard. After that someone came in like a car salesmen about getting dentures and that my insurance covered in their words "flimsy" ones but if I wanted 'better quality' which the dentist of course suggested would be $2,700 as if it was just a $25 extra cost. The dentist didn't even bother sitting down and speaking to me like a human being one on one and this was my experience as a new patient. The purpose of the visit when I scheduled it was FOR tooth pain/extraction that I needed which they NEVER even addressed the pain or asked how it felt. I clearly had a cracked tooth and these can be very painful and open to infections as well as sensitive to hot and cold beverages and food. So they scheduled the extraction for the following week. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a dental office. They were only interested in whether or not I wanted to move forward with the $2,700 for the dentures on the first visit and $3000 implant for this second visit and not including the extra $1,000 for the extraction. The only person who treated me like a human being was one of the dental assistants who was doing my x-rays and one person up front I wish I knew her name. But they had already taken x-rays so yes I had went back for the one extraction and guess what. That experience was even worse. So on this second visit I was told that I had to pay extra for the extraction because apparently my insurance only covered the actual pulling the tooth out part and nothing else as far as completing this procedure (she mentioned packing it in with something after it's extracted so "it heals properly",etc.) isn't that included? they said I had to pay an extra $1,000+ for the extraction to be done completely and that they could start doing that today for $400 (they didn't mention that it was complicated they just said that this was not covered and then also stated I needed bone graft to prepare for the implant that I did not ask for.. what? come again?) and again I said I couldn't do anything about that right now because that's an extra $3,000 out of pocket. The person who came speaking on all these cost also tried to scam me when she gave me an iPad to fill out my information and I'm asking her "this is for my extraction correct?" not the implant because I stated I don't want to move forward on the implant and she said "uh huh" so professional with that answer right? and as I was filling out the information on the iPad thing it needed me to confirm my email? and again I said is this for the implant because the office has all my info already and then she fessed up and said "yes" because the doctor recommended "that you get the implant" and once again I stated that I didn't want to do that right now. Look at these people! Smdh they tried to get me to sign up for a $3k procedure online that I already said I didn't want. I would not recommend them at all !!! You want a place that's going to be HONEST, not pushy and work WITH you, give you options other than the most expensive ones and explain to you what needs to be done or should be done and share with you in your particular case and what you can do at home. I didn't receive ANY of that. NOTHING. I felt pushed and pressured on things I already said no to. Be very careful what they give you to sign or fill out on an iPad and double check with your insurance to make sure that they have not forwarded any type of charges or service you did not get. Their whole operation is how much money they can squeeze out of you and that's it. Sad isn't it.

Negative experience: If i can give 0 stars i would , Came in because my gums were infected they told me i needed treatment that would take a month for it to come in and the treatment was 1,500 . Made me wait for 4 hours only did x-rays on me and told me to come back the next day to confirm and make a payment , i never went back the next day i instead went to a urgent care because my gums hurt so bad and the doctors there even told me it was so weird that this dentist didn’t even offer me antibiotics because of how bad my gums were. Went to another dentist and they said i don’t need the treatment just a deep clean . Till this day Western dental is trying to make me pay 1,500 for treatment i never even got done and when i tell them this they start getting rude and talking over me .

The XRay girl should be FIRED !!! She walks around lost and looking confused like she doesn’t know her job then when you ask her a question she disappears for over 20mins. Positive experience: Staff are accommodating except for the most important part, pain medications and antibiotics was not forwarded at the pharmacy so my husband have to be in pain for the whole night because there was nobody to talk to after office hours , except to schedule an appointment but not to follow up on how to get the medications!!! The following day I called my pharmacy but they said we don’t have any prescriptions to be picked up !!! I called Western dental and I was told to get the prescriptions at Rite Aid, but when I got to them, Rite Aid said they can’t give the medications because they’re not our pharmacy!!!! I need to call Kaiser to call Rite Aid for them to transfer the prescriptions!!! As soon as I got to Kaiser they said they can’t reach Rite Aid!!! After an hour of waiting at Kaiser my hubby called that we need to go to the ER because he’s in a lot of pain already!!!! I freak out , cried in front of the Kaiser pharmacist , told her why is it my problem to call in our prescriptions!!!! Why So she asked for the phone number of Western and she herself called them and finally I was able to get my hubby’s medications!!!! That’s the worst nightmare I experienced!!!! I hope this will never happen again!!!

Negative experience: No one introduced themselves to identify who they were, even the doctor, I had to ask for their names. I have had two visits and all that was done were x-rays and a 2mins consultation. When I asked the doctor why I am not even receiving a light cleaning she said I need a deep cleaning and to speak with the patient coordinator and walked out. Prior to walking out she said my teeth and gum are fine, why then do I need a deep cleaning. I make sure I take very good care of my teeth and look forward to my yearly cleaning. But not with Western Dental, they refuse to do any cleaning. Every other dental office I have been to, gave a cleaning before I saw the doctor.

Negative experience: Do yourself a favor and read this review. As a regular patient who has been coming here for over a year and a half, I’ve dealt with multiple mistreatments. To start off, the clients that have their early morning appointments including myself have to wait outside in the cold while their business hours state that they are open at 8:00 am. The staff member who is in charge of opening the doors regularly arrives late so the staff members and customers are out waiting. Often times I get rescheduled my appointments due to the following reasons. They state that they weren’t able to confirm my insurance and that they try contacting me which is a lie, they cancel appointments when they don’t have the qualifying staff members to do their work, lastly, I came in for my daughters appointment and they said they couldn’t find the appointment in the system and if I was able to provide a proof photo of the appointment card they give out. This was the only form of confirming the appointment. It’s unfortunate that the customers have to go through this type of treatment and I witness this all the time. I would definitely not recommend Western Dental to my family and friends.
Negative experience: !!worst experience at this office!! ashley is rude and had a lot of attitude to match it. minerva is obviously a tyrant yelling at the back staff and doesn’t seem like she can work on the simplest things while i was there waiting and she doesn’t lift a finger to help take x-rays cause they were really back up and it’s actually affecting team morale to be quiet honest. how hasn’t this been fixed ? all of this witnessed while being there for 3 hours. the whole office needs a new supervisor or manager to fix the team dynamic because this place is a circus.

Negative experience: ~UPDATE BELOW~ Terrible service. Was called to go to my appointment earlier and still waited a long time to be seen. Got a consultation for braces and everything after that was just a push to agree to get braces. I was there for 4 hours for a 5 minute braces consultation and the quickest dental “cleaning” ive ever had. Unorganized scheduling. ~NEW EDIT~ about 3 weeks after my appt at western dental, ive gone to another dentist to find out i am on the verge of needing a root canal and have more issues than western dental told me during my appointment. Tell me how western could not see the decay and broken fillings in the x rays even after that was the main reason i went in and told them of my discomfort. They told me my fillings were fine and that i just need braces and have 4 tiny cavities to fill… Thank God i got a second opinion, if i wouldve waited any longer and been in the hands of Western Dental, i would still be in pain or needing a root canal or extraction. So disappointed. 0/5 stars

Negative experience: They never answer their phone. I try calling to reschedule an appointment or with a general question and I either get put on hold for 10-30 minutes or they flat out never answer. It’s really inconvenient when I can’t come in all the time and when I try calling they never pick up the phone.

Negative experience: waited for 3 hours to be seen, then waited another hour in the chair waiting for the dentist. all they did was took an x-ray and proceeded to tell me that i had a bacteria that was eating at my gums and if left untreated my teeth would eventually fall out, told me my insurance wouldnt pay for it without even putting in an order for my insurance company for the antibiotic. I was very skeptical so i went to a different dentist to get a second opinion. got more tests done and turns out i just have gum disease that is being treated through insurance.

Fantastic experience: My father needed a complete implant dentures. The procedure was nerve-racking and scary since it meant they would have to remove all of his teeth because of his condition. We were then referred to Dr. Augustine who made herself available to my father for any questions he had along the way. It required several visits and several surgeries and throughout the whole process Dr. Augustine and her staff took very good care of him. Overall, we are happy with the result and are grateful for this Dental office.

Fantastic experience: Ok so I was about to pull all my teeth out because two dentists had told me that's what I should do. And I went here and they said i shouldn't and my teeth are still good. So I appreciate that although I might not have the recommended work done there because I am going to the dental school. However they told me a bottom snap in denture is only 6000 which isn't bad.

Negative experience: The Perris office is absolutely the worst experience I've had. I'm only still dealing with them to finish the treatment that I paid for , for my daughter. They put the braces on before giving a exam and taking care of all the cavities. Then as time went on had to cut the braces off to do work that should have been done prior to orthodontic treatment. They sent a big fat bill that they couldn't explain. I've gotten the run around trying to get that figured out and now that I have made payment arrangements, these people send the same bill that has been already allegedly settled. Trying to reach them is a nightmare over the phone. They are horrible.

Negative experience: Absolutely garbage customer service. They first charged for services not only not yet rendered but not going to be done. Full price that needs to be paid in payments for a procedure that isn't being done. Secondly, they have the worst intrapersonal communication skills because a receptionist literally called to say that the other receptionist doesn't know anything and that a secondary bill for a procedure that was done needs to be paid immediately lest there be a late payment fine - when initially there was no issue, we offered to pay it right away and were told there was no issue as it was discussed with a supervisor there to pay later. They call before closing and harass us to paying it right away or be charged.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. It started off okay. After a month or two into treatment it went downhill. Permanent crown was not to be found on the day of the appointment. So I was rescheduled. A month later the crown was not there again. The staff and management could not provide any answers. Management never followed up to explain or correct the issue. At times staff had difficulty reading my file which is HIGHLY WORRISOME. Experience just nose dived and crashed.

Fantastic experience: To start off I give this place a 5 stars. I bring 3 of my children to this facility for Ortho and I’m really pleased with the service they get. From making them feel comfortable to caring and asking how their braces feel. They are all on top of everything and if something happens with thier braces they are always able to see my children before they have their up coming appointments. Negative experience: I don’t like their service. The front girls are not organized. I had an appointment and they took someone else before me for the same service.I waited 3 hours to get seen by the dentist. Horrible customer service. Plus they don’t have sufficient seating for appointments made. Would not recommend at all. Really disappointing.

Negative experience: Parents beware taking your children to this dentist. They will not allow you back into the room while they are being treated. While waiting for one hour behind our original time I observed two mothers crying while they listened to their child screaming back in the office. These are young children and being unnecessarily traumatized and set up for a future of hating the dentist. They are also very unorganized, rescheduled once without leaving a voicemail, then when we get to the next appointment they’re running more than an hour behind. I asked the receptionist about whether or not I would be able to be present during treatment, she said no there’s not enough room for you. I told her we wouldn’t be able to stay. Then she went and got the office manager who insisted we take X-rays first and then I can ask the dentist but he will probably say no. This is not common practice, any other pediatric dentist we’ve been to this has never been an issue. I also inquired as to why they didn’t have the kids x-rays (that were less than a month old) available to review since I provided info from their prior dentist and specifically set the appointment for filling a small cavity that we are already aware of. This was all discussed at length during the initial call and appointment setting. The manager insisted more x-rays were required and I would not be able to be present during the filling, she said this even without speaking to the doctor. I couldn’t say whether the dentist is competent or not as I wasn’t given the opportunity to meet him. However, given the state of their unprofessional and unorganized front office along with my inability to observe treatment and how the children and sanitation practices are handled, I couldn’t say. During the long wait I was able to get in contact with another pediatric dentist who informed me that our current x-rays would be fine to start treatment and assured me of my right to be present for any procedure. I booked with them and left without being seen. The front dest staff needs to be totally replaced in my opinion. Not one of them has empathy or compassion for patient care and are all rude and dismissive. They are there to socialize with one another, not do their jobs. If it was the wait alone, I wouldn’t post this. But I feel parents should be warned not to go to this place. There’s so many better pediatric offices available that won’t cause a bad experience for everyone involved.

Negative experience: Worst experience at this dentist, first off I waited 2 hours and a half and they LITERALLY wasted my time, I went in for tooth pain, they took my x-rays, the dentist came in the first thing she asked me is if I wanted braces, and then she said I needed a medicated cleaning, and my four wisdom molars removed. I asked her if she was going to check my tooth that was hurting and she said “so that’s more important than your tooth cleaning?” I was so lost? I said well yes it hurts a lot. Then she sent me to the front reception desk. To talk about the medication she wanted to put on my gums that they advertise all over their facility. I walked out. This place deserves 0 stars. Also I noticed that the dental assistant never changed her gloves every single time she would use the Cavi wipes to clean something she would stick the same gloves in my mouth and she’d be touching everything around her, never seen her change her gloves, that’s disgusting.

Negative experience: Had an appt at 3pm, got here at 2:55, didn’t get seen until 4:40.. and we are still here. This is ridiculous waiting 3 hours at a dentist, it’s not even a dam hospital to be waiting this dam long. The girls in the front were nice but the wait time is ridiculous, won’t be coming back here.

Fantastic experience: The Pediatric Dentist (Dr.knapp) is good at her job. she’s quick at what she does so that’s a plus, but she’s also very kind and compassionate. that’s always hard to find in dentists that work with kids. her dental assistants - Hannah & Hillarey were just as wonderful very patient with my kiddos. I’ve been going to western dental since I was little and I wish I would have had a Dr like Dr Knapp.

Negative experience: Updated review as of 2/7/24 This place has not changed for general side ! I only made my app here cus I was coming to see ortho and they suggested u could be seen for a filling .. my app was at 3pm and it’s now 3:40 plus there’s a person still ahead of me !! Ridiculous!!!! But if i had been 30 mins late they wouldn’t have seen me right ? !! Let alone I had to find a sitter and now my sitter is inconvenienced as well! If they knew they were so behind they should’ve called to give me the options to reschedule or at least give me a heads up i would be seen late !! Then it would’ve been MY choice and I could’ve figured things out with my sitter !!! I definitely regret trying to give General side another chance ! Old review : (2 yrs ago from new update) Very disappointed with this location on the general side. Ortho has always been great and they hustle to get their clients in an out. General side is always a mess! They scheduled me an app for a surgical expose of an impacted teeth I have , the front desk made sure to ask the dr if he performd tht type of surgery & he said yes! App date comes and turns out all of a sudden he doesn’t do it at that location . They were already 1hr 30mins backed up with other patients and they were having to reschedule pts. I had also scheduled my husband to be seen for a check up same time. They had told me to call during the week to run my insurance which I did weeks in advance. Next thing u know they can’t find my insurance info!!! They kept going back and forth the front desk with the supervisor . All I rcvd was apologies. Oh and the dr referred me to his location in loma Linda. I called to make an app and turns out their 6months out for appointments. U would think he’d know. Thankfully my orthopedic referred me to another location and they can see me by next week. DO NOT go to general visits here! U will REGRET IT
Fantastic experience: Western Dental In Perris is Great, they have Great staff in and Out, ALL departments I Had to switch Dentist Cause I couldn’t get ahold of my regular office, Thank God I did this office is GREAT! I will not be going back to my Dentist, i needed to get a Root canal, Dr Santos and his Dental Assistant Julie were AMAZING told me what they were doing throughout the process, very gentle and work GREAT together they are in sync with each other n know EXACTLY how to make you feel Comfortable! Didn’t take Long At all, I was in and out Really quick! Thank you guys for being Amazing!!!
