Positive experience: As much as I wish I could give 5 stars just for the amazing doctors and assistants, there is one particular front desk administrative clerk (a female of Hispanic descent) whose attitude could use some adjustment. I don't agree with making customers feel like a nuisance everytime they're the reason you have to do your job. Additionally, there was a severe lack in professionalism as she completely disregarded the clerk next to her as they corrected her mistakes and suggested solutions to issues that seemed non-existent. I was hoping the spritely professional clerk (Caucasian female) next to her would take over so I didn't have to feel so uncomfortable anymore and could trust that my checkout process was being completed correctly. I don't have anything against Hispanic women or clerks in training, if training is the case. However, if you cannot conduct yourself in a friendly enough manner that is not passive-aggressive in your position of employment, perhaps administrative work may not be your calling.
Fantastic experience: Quick and painless. 2 lower wisdom extractions. Dr.Horton was calm and helpful. Price was very fair

Negative experience: Dr. Nathan Horton and his technicians are professional and respectful. Unfortunately the opposite can be said of the staff at this office. They turned me away from an appointment that they booked, and which I urgently needed, because they could not determine whether they accept my insurance or not.

Fantastic experience: Care here, from that received via the assistants to the dentist, is catered to the individual. They treat each patient with a form of consideration rather difficult to find many other places, and their Doctors are experts on the subject of oral health. If you have questions about the state of your mouth or how best to care for it, they'll be answered here fully and reliably (as far as my experience goes).

Fantastic experience: I go to the Comfort Dental on Menaul and San Pedro… Dr. Michael Milburn ( hopefully, I spelled that right) was pretty awesome. He listened well and addressed all of my concerns and handled everything very quickly and I didn’t feel a thing. That’s rare. He has a very easy manner about him that makes you feel comfortable . Excellent dentist!

Negative experience: Terrible...The dentist was lousy, took 45 minutes to pull one tooth, on top of that he mutilated the roof of my mouth, almost 3 weeks later its still not healed...STAY AWAY FROM HERE AVOID THIS DENTIST LIKE THE PLAGUE. I would put 0 stars i makes u put 1

Negative experience: Back in 2024 Dr Michael "Chaz" Gibbons Mlis led me and said that I could have a permanent bridge across my front teeth broken out in a car accident 1987. Totally covered by the insurance. Not without a Pre-Authorization.. he ground my teeth down the same day no pre authorization.. I was two weeks no temporary bridge nothing .I go to have them permanently installed oh they don't fit right and he had one of the dental assistants grind on the. I got a temporary and a week or two later it was not covered dental vision and hearing more than 800 dollars because nobody Dr Michael "Chaz"Gibbons did not file a Pre-Authorization Everything is true... Negative experience: I was A patient of Dr. Mike’s for years he’s a great doctor however due to the receptionist in the front Victor, he’s super rude. I asked to speak with the manager for over 40 minutes. And the only reason I wanted to talk to somebody is because I received tax for me to confirm my appointment and however, they were set for 5:30 PM never did I get a text for the right time. I show up at 5:30 PM and he says it’s not his problem that he needs to help all the other people check them in before he were to check me in then left me there for 40 minutes until he asked Dr. Mike if he would be able to fit me in when I was there at 5 PM then push me out to the end Of the day and made me wait in the lobby till about 6:00 PM. I finally walked out. I never would again go to comfort dental due to Victor.

Negative experience: Why have me make an appointment for nothing to be done at all? No cleaning, no flipper replacement, no anything. Sitting there for over an hour to be told "let's schedule you in a few weeks". What was the point of making the original appointment? I never had this happen in the past so why is it like this now? Ill be looking elsewhere as this was a waste of time taken off work.

Negative experience: I told them I wanted my teeth cleaned. That was my only reason for coming. I asked if they had laughing gas because I'm allergic to too many drugs. Did they listen to me? No. Instead, they took over an hour debating all the drugs I'm allergic to in an attempt to find something they could do to get more money out of me, as though no one else had ever done the same thing. The dentist wanted proof of my allergies! I'm sick of having to prove every painful thing just because Joe Schmo hasn't seen it yet! Get more money by making your customers truly comfortable, by having drug alternatives no one else has! They were about to dismiss me without having cleaned my teeth at all. I had to insist on a basic cleaning, which was my entire reason for being there in the first place. Then they spent the entire cleaning berating me about stuff other people are doing to keep their teeth and threatening me about what would happen at some future date. I was glad the drill was so loud: I could ignore the spiel I've heard so many times before, but so many times did not work for me. My driver was frustrated and exhausted from waiting. She went out to wait in the truck because the front room was full: basically, she got shoved out. All the while, the cleaning areas in back were empty. Not good practice!

And everyone got called before us I asked what else should I do they said sorry we only have 2 assistants it was the white lady in front and she didn’t even try to reach out to anyone and tell them we’ve been waiting over a hour

Negative experience: WARNING? ⚠️ DO NOT come here they do things that probably don't need doing then break your teeth and use all your insurance so you pay out of pocket. Worst dental office my husband and I have ever been too. They try billing for a new patient cleaning then 6 months later a new patient cleaning again and expected me to pay for a cleaning I know is covered by insurance. The whole entire office and staff are so disorganized. Update as of 8/28/2025. This office is so screwed up the gave me a reminder card for 9am today when I called yesterday to confirm they said I had a 3pm app yet I'm holding one of their reminder cards in my hand stating my 9am appt so I ended up with an 11am today for a 6mth fu and routine cleaning and a dental clearance for a hip surgery. The Dr Nate (Nathan Horton) who is very rude disrespectful and unprofessional...he tells me I need a periodontal cleaning...then after that he tells me I need a tooth pulled...why didn't he say that when I first went in and he looked at my X-rays instead of doing this type of cleaning that I don't believe was necessary then tell me after the cleaning that he needs to pull a tooth that isn't bothering me no problems with it and when I did a cleaning 6 months ago they knew the tooth was loose and told me it was ok as long as I wasn't having any problems with it and I haven't had any in the last 6 months. This dental office sucks they are so disorganized and DR NATE (Nathan Horton) is so rude and very unprofessional. And cuz I called him out ...he stopped all procedures..so now I have my top teeth cleaned and now have to go to another dental office that is more professional. This office screwed up my husband's teeth too so beware of this office I believe they are just trying to make money any way possible. They tried with my husband's teeth screwed them up including breaking one and now mine. My husband has a wonderful dentist now and I'm going there too cuz Comfort dental on menaul is incompetent from the front office the billing to the techs to the Drs..worst dental experience I have ever had. I would never ever recommend this office to anyone not even my dog. If I could I'd give them a negative 5 star review. And after seeing a different dentist Dr Nathan Horton did a half ass job on a top periodontal cleaning and my tooth did not need to be pulled and there was no infection at all as that's what Dr Nathan Horton said which was not true so think twice before seeing any dentist at the comfort dental on menaul and I only needed a routine cleaning. Not a periodontal one.

Negative experience: Went here years ago and it was great when in today for a tooth extraction told them I needed 2 pain pills and amoxacillin. They prescribe me ibuprofen and amoxacillin needles to say im in a lot of pain as usual when this happens. I'm headed to the emergency room to see what can they do for me because this ibuprofen ain't cutting it. P.s not everyone is drug addicts if I was id be spending the $400 today on drugs not on a tooth extraction ♂️

Positive experience: Dr.Nate is great efficient and I originally came here because I have was having issues with my fillings. I was told they we’re still intact but old so they’d go ahead and replace them to see if it would fix the problem. I was scheduled for three fillings to be replaced. However when I arrived it ended up being 2 fillings and a root canal.which needed to be scheduled out for. So I left with my two fillings and an appointment for a few weeks out. Upon arrival I was told my insurance wouldnt cover my route canal and was asked to pay over 2000 out of pocket. I declined and immediately called my insurance because I felt like I should be told about this by one party or another so I didn’t waste my time. So after I called the insurance I went back into the lobby and waited another 20 minutes to let them know they said it’s covered and needed a prior authorization which was never submitted. Valerina who apparently side gigs for the insurance said it wouldn’t be covered because I’m over 21. They’ll submit it anyway but it’ll be denied. So I left again and called my insurance again who said that was not true and my procedure would be approved when they received a prior authorization. So we will see. I think this could’ve all been avoided if the people at the front desk actually did they’re jobs. I wouldn’t have wasted my time or the dentist time.

Negative experience: Consider this a terrible review. Apparently, they billed another insurance company in Colorado and tacked on another charge just because the claim was denied? I called me insurance company and they stated that they never received a claim from Comfort D NM. I called Comfort D. So they could explain charges and clarify. The excuse was that they "have a new biller who made mistakes" and didn't process the claim on time. Now I have a bill for for $600+. Not only that, they pulled out a crown without any numbing medication. The worst dentistry masked by 4.6 rating.

Negative experience: This is what I sent to the higher-ups! With no response . I waited a couple of weeks before reaching out to someone just to take the emotion out of it. I will follow-up with a Google review. The Cornado location has Alot of opportunities rude staThisff no follow-up my son made 2 appointments which both fell through due to lack of follow up and lack of communication. In verification of coverage. When he wait both 2 time over an hour the 2nd time he said I'll just cancel again. All the girl at the desk could say is OK! And let him walk away without ONE APOLOGY. Very disappointing. The sad THING is he witnessed two other patients having a hard time, which one of them walked out. Bad business. To make things worse I did get seen I was told I was gonna get a call to follow-up with my procedure, but never got a call back. To set up an appointment. All I got was a BILL. Why go through the time with a patient give them in my case bad news just to leave them hanging in my opinion you don't care about your patient Dr. Chez Gibbons was the Dr. DO BETTER! Negative experience: I would rather be seeing my dentist than writing this review, but I can’t because they ghosted me. I found them on Google Maps, liked the name “Comfort,” and had a wisdom tooth that had been bothering me off and on for a while. But in the last three days, it had really started to hurt. I was in a ton of pain. I was really happy to get a same-day appointment. I explicitly said I wanted to get my wisdom tooth out and that my insurance was changing in 10 days. I asked if they could schedule it quickly. The receptionist said she would check and let me know. She didn’t say anything, but she scheduled me for later that day, so I was hopeful. I went in 11:30 Monday. Yep, it was infected. We scheduled the extraction for Wednesday morning. The doctor gave me Amoxicillin for the infection. I asked about pain. He said the pain was from the infection and the Amoxicillin should help. He told me to keep taking ibuprofen and Tylenol from home. The hygienist told me they were busy but that the Amoxicillin should be ready in a few hours. I’m in extreme pain, so I’m desperately counting down the hours for the prescription to be ready. By around 4 p.m., I still hadn’t heard anything, so I called to check. They had forgotten to send it in. If I hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have received it until who knows when. They just forgot, because they weren’t the ones in pain. Wednesday: I got the tooth out. The hygienist, who was very nice, knocked me in the teeth several times with the suction tool. First time that’s ever happened to me. At one point, the dentist did something that hurt, and I jumped out of my seat and knocked his arm. Still, they handled it and got the tooth out so fast I was shocked. But then the hygienist kind of rushed me out. I was sitting there feeling wobbly from the numbing stuff and rattled because it all happened so fast, and I'd jumped because it hurt, and she told me I could go. I couldn’t even sit in the chair for five minutes to get my bearings. A few days pass and I’m in extreme pain. I’m taking the acetaminophen and ibuprofen they prescribed after the extraction, plus the Amoxicillin. It’s now been six days. I’ve run out of all three prescriptions and I’m still in extreme pain. That worries me. The doctor only gave me this much medicine, which makes me think that pain after this point is not expected. So I called this morning. I had to call multiple times to get someone to answer. I finally spoke with Amy, the receptionist, and she said she’d go check. She left me on hold for five minutes, asked for my pharmacy, and said she’d try to get in touch with the doctor and would call me back. This was around 1 p.m. I waited. No call back. Since they forgot last time, I figured I’d better follow up before they closed. I called around 4 p.m. No answer. I called again and again. Straight to voicemail. But Google Maps says they’re open until 7:30 p.m. The pain is getting worse by the hour. I had no pain meds. So I decided to just drive over there. Maybe the doctor could take a look. Maybe they were too busy to answer the phone. I drove 15 minutes, in a ton of pain, only to find out they were closed. I stopped at the pharmacy and got more Tylenol and ibuprofen. I’ve taken both, and I’m still in a lot of pain. I don’t know if my tooth is infected. I don’t know if I should’ve made an after-hours appointment, or if I was supposed to somehow know that they stop answering phones before 5 p.m. on a Tuesday, even though their hours say 7:30. I don’t know if I should go to the ER at this point, because I don’t think this level of pain is normal. But apparently my dentist isn’t worried. I don’t know if that means there’s nothing wrong, or they just don’t care. Comfort Dental has forgotten about me twice in one week. They’ve left me in pain twice. I don’t know if they messed up the extraction, or underestimated how much pain I’d be in, or just didn’t care. I don’t know if it’s infected, or healing wrong, or what. What I do know is that I don’t trust them anymore, and I absolutely cannot recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I urgently needed dental repair for what I believed to be a bone spur from an extraction. However, it turned out to be my jawbone restructuring pushing through the skin, causing excruciating pain. The doctor promptly recognized the issue, made the necessary repairs, and patched me up. Fantastic experience: Thursday, I had an emergency. My tooth had broken. Comfort Dental is amazing first time there. Just walking in everybody is so nice and welcoming the energy is so positive. The doctor was great. What I appreciated the most was he was willing to fill it that day instead of having me, wait another. The whole filling process was great they were gentle and made sure their work was good. I do have to say the estimate for crowns is way cheaper then any other dental clinic. I will be staying at this dentist I was very impressed. Thank youbJoanne the tech who assisted the whole time so amazing and funny and the doctor and the one who did my filling i apoligize I cant remember her name. Awesome job!

Negative experience: I recently made an appointment with this location, I was scheduled for 6 p.m with the Gentlemen over the phone. I was told I could opp for a 5 or 6 o'clock time in the evening and when I showed up they said they were closed and the women who I do not recall her name said I was scheduled for 5:30 and they called me that morning to confirm. I never received a confirmation call for time. As well as being told a different time then what I was put down for. I wouldn't have shown at 6p.m knowing they were closed, and supposedly scheduled for a different time I wasn't aware off. When I explained this to her she said phone calls were recorded and I wasn't sure what she was suggesting to by making such a statement. They said they would call me this morning to reschedule due to it being a mistake on there end. I've yet to receive a call. I fine this to be very unprofessional and shows lack of awareness on their end. I no longer feel like going through this location or seeking any form of service through them. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth and wouldn't recommend this location to anyone in the future as I have before. Please do better!

Fantastic experience: I love the staff at comfort dental and my dentist is amazing. Comfort dental has Saturday hours and late day options do it is possible to take care of your teeth and not have to take time off.

Fantastic experience: First of all I want to say that Markie and Dr. Mike really went on and beyond to accommodate us. Allow me to explain.... I had an emergency because my tooth was hurting me to the point where I had to go to the ER. I was in 20 out of 10 pain. When we showed up it was time for them to go to lunch but they knew the pain that I was going through because I told them and they said you know what. Let's take care of you. I was in and out in 45 minutes with two teeth pulled. That literally made mine and my girlfriend's day. Considering we have a lot of errands. This is exactly why I will continue to come here which I have for the last 5 years. Because they are genuine. They actually care about you and it's not just a paycheck for them. Thank you so much!!!

Positive experience: The experience with the staff has usually been great. My issue comes with the phone service. When placed on hold, the call is directed to a different extension then told, sorry the extension you dial is not available, then I'm hung up on. Its very frustrating when I'm just trying to set an appointment. I have also had it where the answering service doesn't even work and keeps recycling to the same automated message on the beginning. Truly hope they work on that, or offer online appointment setting.

Negative experience: My mother has been a patient here and absolutely loved it, but today, she was in shock the unprofessional and degrading treatment she got over the phone. The so-called I think I know everything Andy, Mandy something like that was rude, with no experience yet tried to get me to never be seen here again. My mom Michelle then called again and spoke with Lily, and she was so sweet and understanding that she got me back in the system and scheduled. What an absolute sweet heart. Lily is the 5 stars

Negative experience: A root canal was done on one of my daughter’s teeth. It wasn’t done correctly, a piece of root was left causing an infection. When I took her back in she was giving a referral for a Specialist that doesn’t accept our insurance. When I called to ask for another referral I was told to call our provider. Also a cut was made in the side of the gum by one of the tools they used poking around in her mouth causing bleeding and pain for several days

Negative experience: Past vists went well. Current staff and (Dr Hortan) are rude and rushed. Front desk is untrained and either wont answer the phone or will place you on hold for long periods of time. Dr Horton acts as if he is forced to be there.

My last visit the lady that sits behind the front desk is always complaining, that's a front desk thing, that's a her job not mine. When the poor lady in the front is trying help everyone, answer calls and questions If you don't like your job helping people, why work around people that have no knowledge about what you went to school for? Negative experience: Although 5 yrs ago I gave this place a score of 5 stars, today I score them "1". I just read many of the low scored reviews & can't believe how many similar experiences I had here! I should have went elsewhere after the first questionable experience. My review is a couple months late but because I'm still dealing with this last bad experience I decided to share a review. My last visit consisted of pulling out a molar that was BROKE (at this same clinic) by THE DENTIST who was pulling out the molar next to it. Also, one molar was shaved down as part of the prep for a future bridge. The dentist working on my teeth was awesome and genuine about what I needed done. As I was uncomfortable during a couple of prior visits because NOT A DENTAL HYGIENIST but an assistant did my dental cleaning, an assistant created and put in my "temporary" bridge not the dentist! The total cost for me was over $1,000 so before I left I paid $500.00 towards all the work I needed. I was told the permanent bridge would be in 2 weeks later and I would receive a call to schedule an appointment to have it put in. Approx 1.5 weeks later, (in the afternoon) part of the bridge just randomly broke off in my mouth! The pain was unbearable! I immediately called this clinic as I knew it was an emergency. While crying I explained the situation. The girl placed me on hold at least 3 times because of my frustration. I was told that they were booked and could not see me. Then, I couldn't be seen or prescribed anything for pain because the dentist I was assigned to was out. She asked for suggestions but the dentist said that I could call tomorrow to see if there were any cancellations otherwise I would have to wait until MY dentist was back which I believe wouldn't be for 3 more days! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I told her I was near the clinic and could pick up a script and she was told no. I finally yelled and said, "I BELIEVE THIS IS CONSIDERED AN EMERGENCY especially because it was NO FAULT OF MY OWN that the temporary came off" and she said, "Yes ma'am, it IS considered an emergency but there's nothing we can do for you". I told her to ask for suggestions as to what I could do or take because I couldn't wait and she came back just repeating that I could try back the next day!!! I asked, "WELL CAN I JUST GO TO A DIFFERENT COMFORT DENTAL?" She said, "Oh yes! You can call around to see if they can see you at another location." I asked, "Ok, and THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SEE MY RECORDS FROM THEIR SYSTEM RIGHT?" She says, "Oh No, the offices are (I think) franchised and are not affiliated with one another. They can redo your X-rays etc to see what the issue is." By this point I was infuriated! I said, "Well then do I go to the E. R. or what!!!?" Her response, "Well, you can try but there's nothing they can do for you there because it's a dental issue." OMG!!!! Unfortunately I yelled out a cuss word and slammed the phone down! I loaded up on old pain killers I had and did every home remedy I could find! That night the rest of the temporary bridge fell out! The following day things calmed down and the pain is bearable. I've been experiencing some family emergencies etc. and time has quickly passed. It has now been a couple of months, I never received a call from the clinic to see if I got the issue taken care of, nor have I received a call that my bridge has come in! I'm going to request the return of my $500 so that I can go elsewhere, worried that they will come up with excuesses not to return it.
Fantastic experience: I have to say this comfort dental Coronado is the best dental office. Everyone is soo nice and friendly , really make you feel at home and comfortable ! And they do great work as well , always making sure you are happy with the result ! Highly recommend !

Fantastic experience: We had the pleasure of having Rose as our dental hygienist. She was professional, kind, and knowledgeable. My son has braces and had rubber bands on his braces. Rose was super gentle and incredibly skillful in doing my son’s cleaning. Rose also took her time in order to do a proper cleaning of all the elaborate nooks and crannies that the rubber bands created. I was super impressed with her expertise! I highly recommend Rose!!!

Negative experience: Staff is very rude. I got into it with a staff member. They tried to charge me over 400.00 and I have insurance. When I asked what I was being charged for the lady said she wasn't aware I had insurance. I was there two weeks prior and they charged my insurance just fine. I will be looking for a new dentist. I WILL NOT be going back. Time to restaff.

Fantastic experience: I have no fear regarding a trip to the dentist at the Coronodo Dental Location. The MDs, and Assistants, staff attending to checking you in and dealing with billing are clearly competent. The technology and equipment are up to date. At a recent visit, I was told there were additional issues than I anticipated. I was disappointed but not dismayed because I knew I was getting A+ care.
