Negative experience: 11/17/25 - 1st time in years I need something other than a cleaning. Major tooth ache gums swollen, can't chew, and they can get me in next Tuesday. Today is Monday, so over a week. Called a different dentist, my new dentist, can get me in at 11 today.

Negative experience: Let me first preface this by saying that I think Dogwood Dental is a nice and hospitable facility as a whole. However, the front desk clerk whose name is Jill was very rude to me over the phone when I had been kept over at work and was running late for my tooth extraction. I had told her while making the appointment that I might be late because my scheduled shift ends right as the appointment started to which she said, “you said a couple minutes not 30”. I was taken aback by her hostility towards my lateness. I realize that my lateness is my fault and to that end I am not mad that they had to reschedule. But I am very displeased by Jill’s attitude towards me when I called to apologize for being late and even being told that “there are patients before you who need to be seen” as if I had intentionally kept them from being seen by being late. I have no doubt that they will treat my tooth with the delicate care that is required for extraction, however I wish that delicate care extended to the patients over the phone. In this case, it did not.

Fantastic experience: I had 2 small cavities that we didn't feel I would require numbing my mouth. The doctor was able to fix both with no pain. I was glad that I didn't have to leave with a numb mouth. It was a quick and efficient process

Cathy, the dental hygienist, was so lovely and thorough, Dr. Kennedy was kind, thoughtful, and took his time; the receptionist Jill was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. Added after root canal: ZERO pain, crown fits perfectly, as always, a wonderful experience at Dogwood Dental.

Fantastic experience: Such a Wonderful Staff. So Polite and make u Feel like Family. My Husband has Been a Few Times and I asked for Teeth Cleaning and Yes, they told me, and Worked Me Right in.. Really Nice Lady did my Cleaning. I Now also am a New Client there. I Heard the Dentist next to me, Discussing Procedures with another Patient. Very Very On Hand Discussion. Glad to hear how He was Explaining Procedures to his Client. Very Concern about the Long Term Decisions made. Wish my Old Dentist had Tried this Hard, to Help his Clients. I'd still have Most of my Teeth. Great Dentist office. And Would Definitely Recommend it to Any and All in the Surrounding Areas. My advice listen Well, and Keep All Permanente Teeth as Long As Possible. I Now Have Dentures and it's not all you think it Will Be. This Dentist Cares, and will Explain all He can Do to Keep your GOD GIVEN TEETH!. Listen Closely, It makes a Big Difference, in your eating and your Life . Thank you Staff.. Your Awesome.....

Fantastic experience: Today I just needed my yearly x-rays and my 6 month cleaning and besides the fact that I always have trouble with the x-rays, they weren't to bad this time as Kathi is awesome! I would recommend this place too everyone!

Fantastic experience: Lobby smelled like old urine, very strong. Was not happy that you don't see Doctor before you have a cleaning. Patient's may need to discuss new problems that have developed since last cleaning. Needed a medical form completed but no Doctor there. Not a satisfied customer !

Fantastic experience: Broke a tooth Sunday, I was worked in on Monday and given procedure for crown. Came home with a temporary. Everyone seems to get along there like a happy family. No TV in waiting area which is wonderful. But really never have to wait more than a few minutes. Best dental care anywhere!

And I greatly appreciated that the doctor was able to fix my chipped filling on the spot without me having to come back... painlessly and without novacane!

They got me in within just a couple hours of my calling about a dental emergency and, as someone without insurance, their prices are very reasonable and they'll be able to fix what needs doing.

Fantastic experience: I was in the process of changing back to Dogwood dental because I changed my insurance and they now take what I have. Had an appointment scheduled for later in the month but over the weekend I started hurting real bad and left some messages. The office called me first thing in the morning on Monday and had my seeing Dr Kennedy by 10am. I’m so thankful for Dr Kennedy and the staff at Dogwood Dental. I highly recommend. I was a patient years ago than moved a few hours away. I’m so glad I’m back in Athens and able to have Dr Kennedy as my dentist

Fantastic experience: I have always found these folks to be caring and concerned about not only my dental health, but my general health and well-being which can contribute to my dental self care. A very clean waiting room is not used for long as I have almost always been called back at, or prior to, my appointment time. A great staff in a clean and welcoming environment takes care of business in a non-rushed manner. I would highly recommend them to anyone. UPDATE (05 Sept 2024): I had an appointment today to have a sore tooth/jaw checked. After about 15 minutes, the problem was resolved well and I left a happy patient.

I even wait in the waiting room and each person that comes in, it seems they know them as well! Lastly this office believes in helping and saving teeth instead of just removing the tooth! As someone who had never been to the dentist before, I was pretty nervous going in, but everyone there made me feel totally at ease. They were super friendly, welcoming, and really patient with me the whole time. I ended up needing a root canal on one tooth, plus a crown on that tooth and the one next to it. Dr. Kennedy took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable at every step. What I thought was going to be a scary and overwhelming experience actually turned out to be smooth and way less stressful than I expected, thanks to how kind and professional they were. The whole process went so smoothly! I’m so glad I found this place. If you’re nervous about going to the dentist, I highly recommend this team—they really take great care of you. I will definitely be coming back for future care!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here. I felt they took their time and I left with clean teeth and no mouth pain. They took in account my sensitive teeth and gums and did not use the cavitron scaler. Which I was extremely appreciative of. The dentist also explained everything clearly. And I rescheduled in 4 months!
