Negative experience: Took extensive x-rays that my insurance didn’t cover without telling me, tried to upcharge me on a cleaning, and told me they were in network when they weren’t. Ended up paying $120 out of pocket and I didn’t even get a cleaning. It’s s chain dentistry place with chain practices to get more money. I’d recommend going elsewhere.

She presided over every nuance, her attention to detail is extraordinary. I also had a filling done today, that experience was wonderful as well. Efficient and effective. Fantastic experience: Dental Arts 9th Street is the best dental facility I've ever been too. Carol Dotson not only hygienically cleans my teeth but gives me good instructions on taking care of my teeth. Dr. Kayla Gruszcynaki is compassionate in her care of my teeth. Her workshop on my fillings and crowns is excellent. The facility uses up to date equipment. I highly recommend this facility.

Fantastic experience: Was just at Dental arts Ninth St again!! Per usual, everyone smiling, busy, greeting everyone, having FUN!! 2YRS ago, I was looking for a dentist... saw their "Rave Reviews" Fell in LOVE!!! Great teamwork, detailed, great communication, great prices, will work with you on any issues- (fear/expense). They have given me deals on - Crown, Invisalign, extra dental work/ cleaning I needed (on chemo and Prolia (osteoporosis). Dr Kayla also put me on medicated toothpaste/ mouthwash when I went on Prolia... to protect my teeth/gums. She is very detailed about your care!!! Jose - Dental Assistant ... Educated me on the machines that took pictures/ measurements in real time as he used wand in my mouth (I'm old this was fun) like a "Disney Ride" at the dentist!!! Then I was appointed to - Carol - Hygienist, she keeps my teeth/ gums sparkling!!! And gives "great" pep talks about your dental care and suggests products that might be right for your care. I love Her!!! With all this... why even go somewhere else? And the Front Desk.... they "see" you (in and out)... they are also fun!!!! Just saying....

Negative experience: My Experience at Dental Art Ninth Street (St. Petersburg) wasn’t bad overall, but I was really disappointed with the front desk. Before making my appointment for a regular cleaning, I called the office twice to confirm they were in my insurance network. Four days later, they called me back and confirmed yes. After the cleaning was done, I ended up with a $250 bill. I called my insurance and found out they were never in the network. I asked to speak with management, but weeks later all I got was a quick call from Jada basically just saying “sorry.” That’s it. The hygienist, Carol, was great and did a smooth job with the cleaning, and Dr. Kayla was also really nice. She even mentioned I need to change 2 crowns, which I probably do, but Im glad I didn’t do it there, otherwise I could’ve been stuck paying thousands. Being misled about something as important as insurance is really unprofessional. I should’ve checked the Yelp reviews first, looks like Im not the only one this happened to.

Fantastic experience: I got a referral from the VA to come here and get they’ve been nothing but efficient and kind in helping me out. The VA often does not have enough appointments for dental and it can get confusing when going to different places, but they have been so accommodating and have even tried to help me get more regular cleanings than I was able to do at the VA. I would highly recommend dental arts ninth street to anyone who is in need of dental care!

Fantastic experience: I went in for the $99 special and was blown away by how thorough this dental office is. From start to finish, the communication was excellent—they explained every step clearly, broke down where my teeth currently stand, and even graded areas so I could truly understand what was going on with my dental health. Everything was explained in simple, easy-to-understand terms, which I really appreciated. I saw Alan and Carol for my cleaning, and they did a phenomenal job—very professional, detail-oriented, and so friendly. I’ve had a possible dead tooth for a couple of years, and no one has ever been clear with me about my options. The dentist here was direct, honest, and to the point, which was such a relief after years of vague answers elsewhere. The entire team was professional, charismatic, and made me feel like they genuinely care. Fantastic experience: I, like many people, would rather eat glass than go to the dentist (ha), you get my point. Dental Arts Ninth Street changed my perception with the incredible treatment I received today. I’d been putting off going anywhere because I knew I needed more than just a regular cleaning. They did the X-rays and other comprehensive exam stuff and asked if I wanted the deep cleaning (I have periodontal disease so this meant under the gums). I really didn’t but knew I needed it. Carol (one of the best hygienists I’ve ever met) numbed me with gel (not a shot) and at first I thought she was kidding (I’d never heard of numbing gel) but it worked amazingly well. I barely felt a thing during the cleaning, what a relief. During the visit Carol shared a lot of great instructions on how to take better care / do a better job with my oral hygiene. I know this will sound crazy but I can’t wait to start putting these new practices into motion. Dental Arts Ninth Street is the best decision I’ve made for my oral health. The entire staff is great and Dr Kayla is very kind and patient. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Definitely recommend! The office is pristine and staff is nice. I also loved that booking an appointment was easy versus most dentist offices make you book 3-6 months out. I hate X-rays and they made it so quick and easy. I had carol as my hygienist and she was great. You can tell she knows what she’s doing and has been doing it for a long time.

Negative experience: Beware.. worst experience ever! They said I needed a cap so I spent about $1500 and now I need a root canal which should of been done in the 1st place. Now every time I eat it hurts with cold or hot. And now I got to come up with money to do that which I don't have.They also did a filling and that hurts and feels like it's going to crack when I bite down. But they brush me off after being in there several times saying it's fine.

Prior to any crown procedure, we always have patients sign informed consents that outline all potential risks, including the possibility that a root canal may become necessary—even if no symptoms are present at the time of preparation of the crown. While we do our best to prevent this, there is always the possibility that the nerve can become inflamed after a crown is placed, especially if the tooth had existing cracks, decay, or large restorations that have been present for some time.
We also understand your concern regarding the filling, and we regret if you felt your concerns weren’t fully addressed during your follow-up visits. That’s certainly never our intent. We would appreciate the opportunity to re-evaluate your situation and help find a solution.

Fantastic experience: I went here for a cleaning with the hygienist Patricia. SHE IS A PRO!! The hygienists at the dental office I normally visit give decent cleanings, but Patricia showed what a true cleaning looks like. As she was probing and cleaning my teeth, she would give me advice on how I can improve my oral health which I really appreciate. She was super gentle and was constantly asking me if I was uncomfortable. She also let me watch Twilight By the end of the cleaning, my teeth felt and looked AMAZING. She did not leave a single piece of tartar on my teeth. I can tell that she truly cares and loves her job. We need more awesome sauce hygienists like Patricia. She is so cool beans

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with this location specifically. From walking in the door, the ladies upfront were very personable to the dentist herself making me feel very comfortable. It was my first crown so I asked plenty of questions. After 2 years of not being able to chew on my lower right side, this dentist finally found the problem and fixed it right away!

I was quite impressed by the work and treatment throughout that I am considering to make it my primary dental office, even if it means to fly down more often. Fantastic experience: Great staff and a welcoming environment! There was actually a fight that broke out during my teeth cleaning. I was so scared, but the dental assistant assured me everything was okay since he took 5 years of tai kwan do and he honestly left the room and beat the dude up. This is the kind of stand up attitude I expect from my dentists.

Fantastic experience: Dr Kayla and her staff were truly amazing! I’m visiting from out of town and broke a crown on my front tooth. I called and Nhi answered the phone and was incredibly helpful in asking questions to make sure they could help me. They offered me an appointment that same day, and Dr. Kayla was able to create & install a temporary crown to replace the broken tooth that looked perfect! Fantastic experience: Hands down the best experience I've had at a dental office! I previously had a cleaning appointment with Carol, I tend to get nervous about any dental appointment, but Carol’s personality and approach immediately put me at ease. At the end she helped work with me and the Dr. to talk through my dental health in-depth. I left feeling so comfortable and well-cared-for. As a follow up I had 2 appointments with Hyman and Dr. Kayla. Both were incredibly patient and worked closely with me to make sure I got the perfect fit. I really appreciated their attention to detail and high standards when it comes to patient satisfaction. Additionally, I’ve always had a great experience with the front desk receptionist, Nih, here! She is very organized, friendly, and always on top of things, which makes scheduling and communication so easy. Lastly, the entire office is very clean and well-maintained, which is something I really appreciate as a patient. Negative experience: Misleading - Much like others have said elsewhere about this group they are misleading & will overcharge you the minute you get in the chair. This office confirmed prior to our first visit that we were "in-network" only to find out that wasn't true and resulted in thousands of dollars of charges to myself & my wife for things that would have otherwise been covered at least partially under our insurance plan. They made no effort to inform us of this until I discovered additional charges on our card and on top of it they BEG for a 5-star review on google every time we came into the office. While the staff, hygienists, & dentists we interacted with were pleasant and did great work, it's clear they have misleading business practices & I would avoid them at all costs. I've seen many similar reviews & comments about them on various review sites as well so don't just take my word for it.

First of all, we sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding your insurance coverage and any inconvenience it may have caused you and your wife. We strive to provide clear communication, and it’s disappointing to hear that we fell short in this instance. Many patients call and ask if we take their insurance - which we do, and we are able to bill most major plans. Not all insurances have network coverage for every dental office even though they do provide coverage to you as a patient with us. It would be impossible to do that as a family dental practice. Network participation does not guarantee something is less expensive or has a lower out of pocket cost. Most in network offices have insurances dictate treatment for patients, which limits their ability to provide high quality dental care, technology and materials. This is not in a patients best interest.
We do appreciate your kind words about our staff and the quality of care you received, but we take your feedback seriously regarding our billing practices. Again, we apologize for the experience you had and we will strive to be better in our communication moving forward.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr. Gruszcynski and her staff. Everyone from the reception to hygienist, other staff, and the doctor are wonderful. Due to my medical history I am harder to work with than some patients and they were very gentle, kind, and took their time with me. Having moved here in the last 6 months I was nervous about finding a new dentist, but glad I found this office.

Fantastic experience: This was the first visit to this facility and I was very impressed. The equipment the office everything was pristine. Their equipment is completely up-to-date and the staff is extremely welcoming. I took advantage of their $99 special for cleaning X-rays and examination and it was very thorough. I have been experiencing some discomfort in my molar due to a crown's shape and the dentist addressed its adjustment without additional charge. I will be using this dentist as my regular dentist. The charges are very reasonable which is important to me since I do not have dental insurance. I highly recommend this facility.

Fantastic experience: I have found my new dental family. Just the other day I went there for the first time and right when I walked in it felt like a welcoming environment. Jesse was so polite and friendly as I signed it. And Carol, a hygienist, was very knowledgeable and she did a great job. The best cleaning I’ve ever had. And I’m thankful for Dr. Kayla because for years I’ve had receding gums due to having braces for a long time and it being hereditary. Dentists prior to her would just say, “Looks like you have some recession happening,” and not offer a solution. Whereas Dr. Kayla said, “Skyla, I see you have some recession happening—I want to get you a consultation with our periodontist for a gum graft.” Dr. Kayla is a dentist who cares and offers solutions.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Patricia and Dr Kayla. They took their time and explained everything thoroughly. My greatest challenge is typically the xrays and cleaning due to my gag reflex but Patricia was great and she was able to easily obtain my full xrays and she was very gentle in my mouth which I really appreciate. I would highly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: No one likes going to the dentist, but the staff at Dental Arts make you feel comfortable. Best cleaning i ever had by hygienist Carol. Dr. Kayla did an excellent job on my crown with her delicate touch. Everything was thoroughly explained and there are no surprises when it comes to costs.

Fantastic experience: I normally hate the dentist ( I am always nervous ) …. But this was the easiest & BEST experince I have had ! Every single staff member I saw was so nice and kind and took the time to explain everything to me. Fantastic experience: I received a new patient $99 special in the mail and was looking for a new dentist and tried them out. The staff was excellent and very friendly. I made a mistake with my appointment and Zabrina found a way to squeeze me in! Star Carol did my cleaning and was very thorough. Dr Kayla was informative and kind as well as gentle when doing my exam. I definitely recommend this office and be back!

Fantastic experience: The way they receive you and treat you is truly incredible, explaining step by step the entire process that you will need, achieving surprising results without pain or unnecessary injections. Fantastic experience: I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Dental Arts! My boyfriend and I were very pleased to receive a new patient special in the mail, as we both hadn’t gotten a cleaning in a while due to lack of dental insurance. The staff was all very friendly and kind. The woman at the front desk was considerate and even got up from her desk and opened the door for an elderly woman with a walker. Patricia did my cleaning and was very gentle and thorough. The doctor was informative and kind as well as gentle when doing my exam. Fantastic experience: I booked the appointment nervous because I knew it wouldn’t be good news. The entire staff was so kind. They were so reassuring and not judgmental at all, which I was concerned about. They showed me everything that was happening to my teeth and clearly broke down the issues and treatment options. The hygienist even googled the best/most affordable toothbrush option for me and where I can get it.
