Negative experience: I'm not one to do this, but unfortunately, I received terrible treatment from Dr. He, and the root canal procedure was poorly performed. I had to go to another clinic where they told me the entire process had been done incorrectly. Furthermore, when I went back to see the doctor today to tell her I was still in pain, she was rude and told me to do whatever I wanted. She also sees several patients at the same time as your appointment, so she rushes through the work and doesn't dedicate her full attention to each patient. These procedures are very delicate. I would never recommend this clinic and the doctor. My case had to be escalated to the district manager.
Fantastic experience: Dr Hite and the office staff are the best. Very professional and knowledgeable and were able to fit me as a new patient due to a sudden problem.

Fantastic experience: Love this office - the front desk staff are knowledgeable and efficient and dentists I've dealt with have been super. Mostly recently had a chipped tooth fix that only took 15 minutes! Would recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dental home.

Positive experience: The staff is always friendly. They squeezed me in at the last minute. However, the needed equipment (panoramic xray machine) was not available and I was told they do not know when it will be back.

Negative experience: Do not go here I’ve never had such a terrible experience in my life from a dentist office. They have no idea how to handle the insurance claims. After so much back and forth between coast dental and the insurance company I ended up just having to pay nearly $300 for a simple cleaning. This was for an appointment on 2/21/25. I get sent another bill from them out of the blue on 10/1/25. This place is a scam. After I called I’m told your insurance must have not paid for something. After 6 months sorry I don’t think so. My insurance was nothing but cooperative with me but coast dental has not been one bit. I didn’t even see a real dentist in person it was on a tv screen in front of me with the dental hygienist in person. I was never rude to these people either when trying to figure this out but they weren’t the least bit helpful and I had to keep calling and calling. They will not get another cent out of me. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
Fantastic experience: My experience was A+. It had been a while, so I had issues to sort out with my (terrible) insurance but the Coast team was stellar. Carol (front desk) was patient, professionally kind and helpful. Dr. Mellek was brilliant and skillful. She explained all procedures clearly and performed them masterfully. I had No pain during or after procedure (filling). They are great!

Positive experience: The admin leaves a lot to be desired. Actually made me get up and leave in the middle of a procedure to make impressions because my card declined. Made me get a certified bank check before they would go any further. That, I believe, was the office manager. ONLY reason I went forward was because I like the dentist and I was tired of putting this off. But the office people are not friendly. Can't wait to done with this so I no longer have to darken their doors. So, 5 stars for the dentist, but 3 stars at best for the office. I've spent about 6 Grand here so far.

Fantastic experience: I found this dental suite on a whim after being rejected by Aspen (after getting new insurance plan) The entire office staff here from the front office all the way to the back (including the dentist) have been nothing short of amazing and I’m saying this after like 5+ visits! Negative experience: It Took them 5 months to due my dentures and the dentist Dr Ferish did a horrible job fitting me for my dentures. From day 1 of my receipt of the "premium" dentures, they have not fit properly. I was told that I had 30 days for adjustments, then after that, I would be charged for each visit. Well I went back 4 times in that 30 days, because the dentures did not fit properly. Each time they did a quick fix and sent me out the door. I still cannot drink or eat any meals with my dentures in, even poached eggs are quite a challenge. They pop out even when adhesive is properly applied. I went to another dentist, she saw me for free and right away told me that these dentures were improperly fitted and made of very cheap material. I had to get new dentures made from a reliable dental care organization ,(at a fraction of the cost for the dentures), and they are perfect compared to the trash I wasted my money on at "Coast Dental Carrollwood".

Negative experience: The worst experience I've had at this place since I came here years ago. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk. About 15 minutes later, the person who took my x-rays showed up, and she had no idea what she was doing. From the moment I arrived, everything seemed suspicious to me because they wouldn't tell me how much it cost for just an x-ray and a cleaning. The moment after they took the x-rays, the dentist saw me via video call, and they also tried to sell me a plan I didn't ask for and things that weren't necessary, a bill over $1,000. I had to run away from that place.

Negative experience: If i could leave a zero I would!! Scheduled 3 appointments online my 2 children the first day and myself the second. I got an email confirming all 3 appointments. Call the office the morning of to see of we could come 15 minutes early. Mind you kids are missing school and I'm missing work. They have my appointment, but not my kid's. They were so rude and unhelpful on the phone placing all the blame on me then said the best they could do was see one kid per day. I asked to speak with the office manager and they said call back and press 3, there is no way to leave a message so you just have to keep trying until someone answers!!! Im sure the no voicemail is intentional if you run a clinic like this!!

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional, they over charged my insurance and then created a fake appointment that I didn't approve of which was followed by a text saying I owed them still from a previous visit after my insurance confirmed it is all paid for and I paid a portion in the office... I can't believe how unprofessional and frustrating their actions have been. Went here one time, won't be going back to this office...
Negative experience: Shotty root canals! Don't be burned! Won't return phone calls/messages! When asked to speak with management time and time again, reassured they would call and never did. I left messages for months!! Ruined my tooth!!! Company will refuse emergency services to pregnant patients! BEWARE!!!
Negative experience: If a company sets apts at 8. They should open up before then. My apt is always at 8 so I don’t miss too much work. Yet I find myself waiting outside because “we’re waiting on a key”. Last time it took 2 hours for a cleaning. I had to leave today because they hadn’t opened their doors yet and who knows how long I’d be waiting. Completely unprofessional

Negative experience: I became a new client here in January of 2024 and my insurance is accepted no problem. took almost 5 months and 2 dentists to get 4 cavities filled and dental guards. lots of changes, and miscommunications. Dentists are very kind but the office staff is evil and silently disrespectful with their energy.

Negative experience: I drove all the way from Dunedin for a consultation for a root canal. I called ahead of time and set up the appointment, making sure they took my insurance first. I spoke with two different people and BOTH of them initially told me yes they do take my insurance, so I went ahead and set up for an appointment. I get a voicemail and a text a day before asking to provide insurance information and confirm the appointment. Alright, cool! I went ahead and did that on their online form like they told me. The day of I drive over there only to be told that they dont take my insurance and called to tell me that. I relistened to the only voicemail that was left from them on my phone from the SAME lady I was speaking to about this and NOTHING was mentioned. That voicemail was left before I had filled out their form but still absolutely nothing was said to me at all about them not taking my insurance. Then they tried to tell me Coast doesn't take my insurance anymore since March 1st. I know thats a lie because the Coast closer to me does, I have been a regular patient there and even called them up after being told that to verify this false information. The communication between the staff and the patients definitely needs work at this location as I was not the only one in the waiting room that was having issues.

Fantastic experience: Except for Dr Hite and German, the entire staff seemed new and more efficient. German noticed how improved I was & how much needed to be done. I was quite confortable speaking Spanish or English. Everyone was helpful as I am paralyzed on my right side & in a wheelchair.

Negative experience: Beyond dissatisfaction, I cannot even begin to describe my experience at Coast Dental. I believe they should do a better job of making their clients feel safe. The only place I felt safe was in the waiting room, but once inside, I was bombarded with bills that I didn't have to pay and offers of various dental plans that I hadn't requested, which made me feel beyond uncomfortable. I came in for a cleaning and ended up paying $100 that I didn't have because they threatened to not do my cleaning without a certain service that I later discovered was unnecessary; my experience with x-rays was not positive because a certain dental hygienist did not treat me properly. Marlene said behind my back that I was being a difficult patient because I couldn't properly put an x-ray piece into my mouth. But then her coworker came in to try, and he did it with ease the first time, with no complaints. I felt like whenever I dealt with her, she always had an attitude, and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I would rather not harm anyone's character, but I believe that what is going on at that location, no one should go through. The dentist isn't a fun place to begin with, but being at Coast Dental Carollwood made it even worse.

Negative experience: Never have I ever encountered such a horrendous medical facility. Dental offices in prisons in developing countries are more hygienic. The place is a dump. Absolutely filthy. Took over two hours for a routine cleaning. I watched the woman at the front desk berate an elderly woman in pain, calling her a liar when she stated she was scheduled for a same day appointment. Then, I overheard her and the staff mocked a person on the phone who had an issue with an insurance claim that was denied. When she hung up the phone,The staff ruthlessly made fun of the patient. They lost the new patient paperwork that took me 20 minutes to complete online and never verified my dental insurance before my visit, as they promised to when I made the appointment. The state should close this place down!!! What a nightmare!!!

Fantastic experience: I visited Coast Dental in Carrollwood for the first time today to have a filing done on one of my front teeth, and had a great experience. Fantastic experience: Overall great experience. Staff is very supportive up front. The techs/doctor/hygienist all were great, communicable and knowledgeable. Also, this place means business when it comes to dentistry. Maturity and professionalism is well defined versus other offices with relatively young and immature employees. They take the customers health and concerns with compassion. Definitely worth a visit.

Negative experience: They have not reimbursed me, which they acknowledged they owe me. Over two hundred dollars, after waiting the 6 to 12 weeks that was stated. I have called, visited in person and have been told there would be a rush put on my refund. Another week has passed and still nothing. They don't hesitate to try and sell their products. This last visit I overheard office staff talking about customers in a very rude way and being very unprofessional. Think twice before going here and what your willing to put up with.

Negative experience: Place could definitely use some updating in the back. When uploading my insurance information prior to my appointment I still had to pay what my insurance should covered out of pocket and was giving two different treatment plans on coverage. Seems the office billing would have had all coverages worked out before I got there. Hoping I get my credits returned back. Very knowledgeable, friendly doctor and hygienist. (Update) Still did not get my over payment returned seems this place has billed my insurance and me for services in which I pay 20% and insurance pays 80%. They charged me 80 and insurance 80.When I attempted to explain this to the office manger multiple times for my refund and showed explanation of benefits from my insurance she still did not give me my over payment. Recently I received a bill for same amount I've been asking for over payment. Can we say fraud !! I am now contacting my insurance to investigate. Update: Now I am being billed for same amount of my over payment/refund. Definitely a fraudulent billing place. Not very honest place.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Farrish is a pro at fine details when it comes to teeth! He fixed my filling on the front teeth — it looks natural and feels great! In addition, he is very pleasant. Ms. Miguelina is also wonderful -- very caring and gives great advice on how to best take care of your teeth!

Negative experience: I just got out of this place and I just wanna say I had the most horrible experience. I got charged $23 to get x-ray done and unfortunately, the lady that did it didn’t know how to do anything so my teeth were sore from her wrong placement. Then they were trying to charge me $152 for washing on top of my insurance. ABSOLUTELY NOT COMING HERE AGAIN AND I DONT RECOMMEND. Money hungry company! Dr.N.Grove don’t recommend her. And the receptionist people gospel horribly about their coworkers vaginal hygiene . Please be professional
Negative experience: very very very rude staff. especially that manager named, terresa. she is by far the most TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE, person i have ever seen. she was very rude, she did not allow me to speak and then proceeded to make me look dumb and tell me i didnt know what i was talking about. and worst part is that office allowed me to book appointment and then waited till i was in the office (which was almost an hour drive) to tell me that they only see children. when i was told they took my insurance and that they would see me, an adult. after a while of having to EXPLAIN TO to the same people who said i didn't know what i was talking about; that i could be seen, A DIFFERENT office a coast dental in brandon, had to tell them i could be seen until they finally gave me a room. the same rude lady. started yelling in the room WITH dr chen beside her stating that, she would not deal with this and she immediately said it was not covered. so i spoke to my insurance and all they had to do was submit a pre-authorization but the SAME rude lady said she wasnt even going to try it even though insurance said a pre-auth could be submitted and that even if it was denied it would be fine, ALL I WANTED WAS FOR HER TO ATLEAST TRY ONE DAMN PREAUTH BUT SHE WAS VERRRRYYY RUDE. this woman should not be working here. it makes the doctor look bad as well. these people know nothing about customer service. terrible experience, and i feel bad for any patient who go your way. please stay away from this office- they are not worth the headache and problems. i will be reporting this office. one star is too damn nice for you all.
Negative experience: They charged extra for xrays (that were not covered with our insurance) without asking (for me and my kids). They gave my 18 year old son (who has never used tabacco) an Oral Cancer test ($50) and charged for various other things. When my daughter went, I made it clear that she did not want anything "extra" that the insurance did not cover, and they still tried to do the Oral Cancer test and various other things. They are not clear as to what they are charging and/or make it seem like it is not optional. I was very disappointed in our experience.

Negative experience: Was suppose to see Dr. Pamela for a root canal. I was referred from another Coast Dental. I got there way before my appt. Only 1 person was there many then other people started walking in 10 minutes later. I was told I was gonna be seen within 5 minutes of my appt basically. The receptionist was very nice but the doctor was rude. I explained to the receptionist my condition and the doctor didn’t come out to talk to me period and receptionist told her I was shaking because I was in pain. It was 30 minutes later past my appt and I Just ended up leaving because they kept calling other people that was walking in and walking out. It was the weirdest thing. Any way, never again and bad customer service and bedside manner by not even trying to talk to me.
Positive experience: Waiting in the front office was to long. I didn't like hearing the office staff speaking loud. They seemed to be unsure of patients appointments. Even my appointment was questioned. They mentioned names of the patients. The doctor was GREAT, if I need any other work on my teeth I will ask to be seen by Dr. Chen He.

Negative experience: This whole "practice" is just a business scam. I moved here recently and was matched with Coast Dental through my insurance. It's nearby so I decided to give it a try. I was having some tooth sensitivity, so I booked an annual cleaning with a quick evaluation. I arrived a half hour early and waited about 50 minutes to be seen. X-rays were fine and the tech was sweet. Everything after that was absurd. The hygienist came in and poked around my gums and concluded that I had "inflammation that might lead to gingivitis." I found that weird because I've had exactly zero issues with anything in my gums and have good dental hygiene and regular cleanings. No one has ever said anything of the sort. Then a dentist CALLED IN ON A VIDEO CALL and told me it didn't look like I had cavities from my x-rays but I should purchase a special rinse and toothpaste for my inflammation. I interrupted her and said that I wanted a dentist to actually look at the tooth I came in for, and she said the "attending dentist" (what?!) could do that when he got a minute. After the this, the salesman/hygienist made me watch a 3 minute infomercial about a tray that could deliver peridontal medication because "flossing and brushing just isn't enough." Then he sat down with a "plan" that was to cost me $630 for a deep cleaning. I told him that I wasn't interested but I would like to see a dentist. At this point, my appointment had been 1.5 hours so I scheduled my afternoon work meeting because I knew I couldn't get back to work in time. The dentist came in and he was kind. He said my tooth I was worried about looked good, but I did have the beginning of decay on the other side of my mouth under a filling that was going to eventually need a crown and how about we go ahead an schedule that. He showed me the area on the x-ray, so at least he wasn't totally full of baloney, but I am not convinced I should get a crown yet since I have zero symptoms. Another tech came in with another $240 plan. I told her that I was not ready to schedule anything at the moment and was I still going to receive my cleaning that day. She said that since it was after 1pm, the staff was on lunch and I could wait until 2 for that. I asked to speak to the office manager. The office manager came in and I asked why I was being told to wait until 2 for the cleaning I had scheduled for 11:30. She said that I was down for a new patient visit, not a cleaning and it must have been a miscommunication with their scheduling department in the Philippines and that happens sometime, but it didn't matter anyway because I had to get the special cleaning and that has to be scheduled out because it takes a long time. I told her that I just wanted the basic annual cleaning that my insurance pays for and she told me that I wasn't allowed to have one. That I HAD to get the deep cleaning because that is what the dentist (WHO NEVER LOOKED IN MY MOUTH) had prescribed. She said that the hygienist could lose his license if he did a basic cleaning when a deep clean was required. That is when I left. For my $70 co-pay, I spent 2 hours for them to try to sell me $900 of things I don't need and told I wasn't allowed to have my insurance covered cleaning unless I did the $630 out of pocket treatment. Obviously, I won't be going back. This is what happens when capitalism mixes with healthcare. Someday we will learn from civilized countries and have universal health care so that doctors are not business people with for-profit companies. Until then, I guess I'll just keep flossing and hope for the best.
Negative experience: Office is filthy and half of the exam room area is apparently their make shift storage with boxes and equipment piled up everywhere around the chairs. I was referred here to see Endodontist Chen He. After the appointment was made with the call center, I tried repeatedly on numerous days to call the office and ask if they needed X rays and insurance ahead of time but no one would answer the phone so I drove there to drop it off a week ahead of my appointment. In spite of doing this and then telling me they verified my insurance, the day of the appointment they said they thought they might be out of network because coverage was denied. I got the insurance on the phone and they explained to the office manager how to file it correctly. When I got this resolved and saw the Dr for the two teeth that needed evaluation, she was extremely rude and literally rolled her eyes at me when I asked questions and didn’t even answer the questions I asked. She then with no warning or explanation sprayed Endo freeze on cotton and stuck it in my mouth on the irritated tooth. When I screamed in pain she just smugly said, “Oh did that hurt? You need a root canal”. The other tooth, in spite of having a visible crack that even I could clearly see on the X ray and in the mirror, she had to dig at and hit repeatedly with the probe before saying, “Yes, it looks like you’re right- I think it is cracked. It will need extraction and I don’t do that.” They then over-billed me at checkout and sent me out the door now in extreme pain from the exam. Horrible experience start to finish. I do NOT recommend.
Negative experience: I am USMC Veteran with a hoorible experience and abusive treatment by the So called Manager. I got to my appointment on time and there was only one person there , then all of a sudden they tell me that i broke the policcy and arrived 15 minutes late and had to leave. I refused and asked to speak to manager that wasn't present and a so called Christina treated me very rude and called police on me to be escorted off premises? I have everything video and you can decide.

Negative experience: This office uses unqualified person to do assistant jobs. This unqualified one doesn't speak English, more importantly, she doesn't know what to do and how to do. The office overcharged me on my bills, l don't owe them. They had this unqualified assistant to serve me! It is not a professional clinic ought to do. They treated me as an experimental person for this unqualified assistant. The tooth she made was awful: size was too small, shape was not as the original one. Another employee who was training the unqualified assistant, was terrible on her attitude when she talked to me. Two persons took much longer time than my last visit when another assistant Estela served me. I could not bite after l ran out of the door, then l had to go back to the dentist to fix it. Because of this unqualified service, l was late to my work for an hour. No complain to Dr Farish, he was nice. Estela is an qualified assistant, l am really unhappy with the unqualified assistant they assigned to me. By the way, they don't rinse for the patients after they finish the whole service. l had something like plastic left in my mouth. And, same as another reviewers said, they overcharged me, and they don't want to refund me. I will have to fight for it. Should l change my provider?

Negative experience: Made an appointment for my 15 year old son a month ago. Received a phone call hours before the appointment that they needed to cancel because they don’t take his age patients. That would have been nice to now when I called to make the appointment!! Then they proceed to text and call me for days afterwards saying that I cancelled an appointment and asking if I'd like to reschedule. Asked to be put on the do not call list and they still continued to call.

Negative experience: Worst experience. My appointment was on April 12th at 9:50. I arrived at 9:45 and sat for over 40mins. I finally went to the window and asked for another appointment. I was told there wouldn’t be another one until May 10th. I drove all the way from Lakeland for this appointment because I was referred by the Lakeland office to come here for my procedure. I won’t be coming back!! If you are going to charge people $25 for when they cancel their appointments, then you should be sure to see your patients at their scheduled time.

Positive experience: The staff there at Coast dental in Carrollwood are outstanding . But the rooms that they work in are pretty nasty looking. There’s rust in every room the equipment is old. Coast Dental makes too much money off people for them to have staff working under these conditions and patients who have to sit there and look at it.These rooms need a much needed overhaul. Negative experience: Beware of billing. Very dishonest. Dentist was nice - staff and billing practices are terrible. They still owe me over $200 for 3+ years. They always over bill and use the credit for next visit. I wanted a refund, not a credit. I spoke to the office manager several times. She verified the credit amount and requested a refund from corporate. Over 3 years and still waiting for it!!
