Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for over a year now and I appreciate how friendly and professional Dr. Chen and the staff are as they answer all my questions and make me feel relaxed. I was nervous the first time coming here due to not seeing a dentist in a while but I felt great after the appointment and am happy to keep coming here. The dental hygienist David is also a master at his art and leaves my teeth feeling amazing.

Negative experience: Good Luck with this office. They are no different than any other office in NYC. Let’s be clear… I work in a space that demands customer service. My approach for a new client would have been to take the information communicate that if we’d need any additional information we’d reach out. The way the receptionist positioned the conversation was that there was an issue with my insurance. She stated that it wasn’t a PPO plan multiple times even after I shared with her that the card was in front of me and it stated PPO and I know it’s PPO because I pay for it hahahaha so by all means have all the whiskey you desire. Thank you for the prayers I’ll take all I can get. Even in the reply I’m not sorry for my review.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Linh Nguyen. She is extremely professional and kind. I went to have my teeth checked and cleaned. Dr. Nguyen listened patiently to all my questions and concerns and clearly answered all of them. The session was fast and painless. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen. The experience was great. The office is very clean. The staff is very kind and helpful. Appointment was on time. Once again thank so much Dr. Nguyen.

Fantastic experience: Words can’t express my gratitude and appreciation towards Dr. Linh and the entire team at Jackson Avenue Dental. Hands down got my flipper perfect on the first try and redid my crown graciously when it needed a bit more tweaking. Dr. Linh is very attentive to your medical needs as well as your comfort throughout your procedure. They are a team that has compassion and sincerity. I feel so lucky to have found an honest and professional practice.

Negative experience: I came here for convenience but I realize they’re not that great. Anytime I have a toothache they never look into the issue. They vaguely say oh it’s probably nothing or they can’t give me any straight forward answers. They were super nice the first time and asked me to write a review and after they weren’t so nice. One of them was kinda grumpy and aggressive with my cleaning.

Negative experience: I visited Dr. Nguyen for a pain issue and told her that I believed the pain was coming from my wisdom tooth. Instead of addressing my concern, she referred me to a root canal specialist in Manhattan. I ended up paying $440 out of my pocket just for the specialist to tell me there was nothing wrong with my root canal and that the pain was actually from the wisdom tooth. In the end, I had to go to a different dentist to have the wisdom tooth removed. I’m beyond frustrated with the whole situation. The unnecessary referral, the high cost, and the time wasted could’ve all been avoided if Dr. Nguyen had just listened more carefully and been more thorough from the start. I really hope she takes this feedback and does a better job of considering her patients’ concerns. To make matters worse, during my visit, Dr. Nguyen did a cleaning but didn't bother to floss around the bridge on my front teeth. It’s clear this office isn’t paying attention to the details or the needs of their patients. Overall, this experience has been disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this practice to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Went in for a wisdom tooth extraction, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The staff was incredibly comforting and made sure I felt at ease every step of the way. Dr. Nguyen was both professional and kind, explaining the process clearly and answering all my questions. The procedure itself was surprisingly quick and easy, and I was in and out in no time. I’m grateful for such a positive dental experience and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of dental care!

Fantastic experience: I took the Q train from the Upper East Side to visit Dr. Nguyen for my annual dental check, root canal, and crown. They are transparent with the prices covered by the insurance and out-of-pocket. Dr. Nguyen gave me a perfect healthy smile! Before coming to Dr. Nguyen, I went to Park Smiles on Upper East Side—unfortunately they had me pay upfront a sum total and then had to request for a refund (which they hesitated to look up in their system) after the insurance paid a part of it—took them weeks to get into the system for the refund).

Negative experience: They gave me a discount to write a review but I don't think it was worth it. I agree with the other review and say this it like an urgent care place. The lace is clean and the staff is friendly but Dr. Chen seems unsure of himself and inexperience. If you need a cleaning or a quick fix until you can get to your primary dentist. Had work done and had to got back to get it corrected and not it's infected and I'm in pain agian.

Negative experience: Unprofessional customer service!! I understand rescheduling an appointment last minute is not a good thing. But I have emergency I need to bring my dog to the vet because he keeps throwing up of course I need to reschedule my appointment which is mine is not urgent. So I called them if I can re-schedule my appointment and the lady on the phone talks too much and trying to tell me that I need to cancel appointment 2 days before. Like don’t you guys understand there’s emergency?! And she ended up telling me to cancel it thru website because she’s not able to do it for me.O change my mind, I will never go to this place. People are so rude and mean, doesn’t know how to deal with customer lol.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Dr. Nguyen. The cleaning and examination was thorough and pain free. She took the time to explain everything to me and even fixed a cosmetic chip I had in my tooth that was bothering me. I highly recommend visiting her.

Negative experience: My service happened more than a ago and Im just doing the review now. I was there for tooth cleaning and filling. When I was in the chair for an hour the dentist thought she was done filling up all my tooth. When she thought she was done I reminded her that she has more teeth to do on the other side. Then she realized she forgot 2 more teeth. She then quickly rush to fill up those teeth as she had more client after me. She finished the two tooth for about ~10-15 minutes only, alone, without the assistant, coz that time I was already over the schedule and the tech need to prep the next person after me( coz she forgot she has more teeth to do). more than a year after, those teeth are still very sensitive. I think she didn’t really do the job well since she was rushing to finish the job. If you are looking for quick cleaning and procedure like an “urgent care” style. This is the place to be. But if you are looking for a dentist who care for the health of your teeth, like a “family doctor treatment” style. I don’t think I would recommend this clinic. Coz I remember that time they wouldn’t explain things WELL to you. I asked the dentist that time what was the reason for refilling the old composites that looks to me not worn out yet and she just dismissed my question and wanted to start the job right away. Now more than a year after, I am still enduring this sensitivity on those teeth. The staff were really nice. Dont get me wrong. But I dont think Im going to come back anymore. PS. This is not my real name. If ever the clinic wanted to search my name.

Fantastic experience: Had to get an emergency filling after getting some blueberry seeds stuck in my teeth and it was so easy. Dr Linh Nguyen had great bedside manner and it was a smooth and painless process. Great experience, will be back for all my dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Needed to find a dentist to fill my cavity after moving to LIC; I went in initially to confirm that I had a cavity and Dr. Nguyen took care of it quickly and painlessly. She was efficient, patient and kind. The staff were super helpful and responsive, prices are definitely more affordable than Tend for a more intimate and personal experience. This is my new dentist for sure!

Negative experience: Update: went to another dentist recently and they found two cavities! Although when I was at Jackson Ave Dental in April and asked them to double check and they said I had no cavities other then the one I need the root canal on. Cavities don’t form that quickly, it’s only been 3 months since my last visit. These people are not doing their job, the definition of a dentist is to help prevent cavities and catch them early so they don’t become bad. They do not take the time and care to get all the X-rays of your teeth. I’ve been coming to this dentist office since 2021 and although it is very clean and the staff is friendly after a recent issue I will not be returning or would not recommend. I take good care of my teeth and I’ve never had a cavity before until a couple months ago when I was told at my cleaning that I had a cavity so bad I needed a root canal. I had been getting cleanings there every 6 months and was shocked. They should have caught it earlier and I could have just gotten a filling but instead had to get a root canal. I have dental anxiety so it was unpleasant experience. They blamed me because of my torus palatinus, a bony growth I have on the roof of my mouth, that makes it difficult to get X-rays. However they failed at doing their job and did not communicate to me that they were not getting all the X-rays needed to see my teeth and possible cavities. As a patient I put my trust in the professional to do their job correctly and thoroughly and that did not happen in this situation, now making my dental anxiety worse.

My appointment was on time, the facilities were very clean, my dental cleaning went smoothly, and Dr. Nguyen took some time to address my dental concerns. I never felt rushed, and had a very pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: This office is super clean and pleasant to be in!! Everyone was really friendly, efficient, sympathetic, and thorough. They made sure I knew the bill beforehand and checked for my insurance, and were very timely and organized. Dr. Nguyen was wonderful!! As I said, very efficient, kind, and thorough, and she took the time to not only do my cleaning, but also fill cavities. What I really appreciated about her was that she was very sensitive to the idea that I might feel pain, and would make sure that I would be numb for the fillings. She also checked to see if my bite was okay afterward. I am definitely coming back! :)

Fantastic experience: Dr Judy Lee had excellent bedside manner. She was calming and very informative all the way. The front desk receptionist was very welcoming and nice! Highly recommend this office for most of your dental needs. Update: 2023 I still stand on my 5 star review. With that said, this time around Dr. Lee no longer works here so I was seen by Dr. Nguyen. She is very fast and efficient which I enjoy and expect from a provider.

Positive experience: Edit: I'm actually quite encouraged by the email response I got back from the office. It was very kind! Even though I was a bit disappointed with how I felt after leaving, I'm inclined to give them another chance as they really do seem to care about patient experience. Original review: This is a bit delayed, as I visited in March. I went for a cleaning. The visit with Dr. Nguyen was okay, but I got the sense that she was distracted. The office seems clean and all of the other staff were very nice. When it was time for Dr. Nguyen to do my cleaning, she asked me standard questions about whether I had any concerns that brought me into the office. I did, in fact, inquire about some sensitivity I felt on a tooth that I was unsure about. She told me she would do the cleaning first and then answer my questions afterwards, but by the end of my cleaning, she seemed to forget I asked. When I asked again, she was confused as to what I was asking about despite us talking it through beforehand. When she did finally answer, it felt she was giving a generic answer just to give an answer, and seemed to keep looking behind me as if she had something else to do. Suddenly, she started acting more engaged and asked me more about myself, how I found the office, and to consider leaving a 5 star review. The rest of the experience was fine, although I’m still not sure if I want to return on a go forward basis.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Nguyen and the rest of the Jackson Ave Dental staff were nothing but professional and accommodating during my visit. The front desk gave me prompt reminders of my upcoming appointment -- even offering me a spot a day early after another person cancelled their visit -- and were warm, friendly and clear about what my insurance covered on the day of my check-up. The appointment itself was about as fast as it could be, with very little wait time. Dr. Nguyen was prompt, direct and thorough during my cleaning and subsequent cavity filling. She kept me informed of what she was doing the whole time, wasn't careless with her cleaning, and gave me useful advice for maintaining my dental health afterwards. I'm a typical guy who doesn't make dentist appointments as often as he should, but with this kind of experience, I'll be more than happy to revisit every six months. The office itself is close by the 7, G, E and M trains, so I strongly endorse Jackson Ave Dental to anyone in the Long Island City or Astoria area who is looking for a new dentist. You'll be in good hands!

Fantastic experience: I just had my second visit with Dr. Nguyen, and she is far and above one of the best dentists I've been treated by. The office is incredibly well-organized, efficient, and comfortable. Dr. Nguyen and her staff are patient and gentle in their treatment, it definitely helps with my nerves! Fantastic experience: Needed a new dentist and had some tooth pain. This practice was great. Clean, friendly, fast. They were up front about costs and talked to me before they started work. Fantastic experience: Love this place!! To say I hate going to the dentist is a massive understatement. JA Dental is by far my favorite. It is nice, clean, modern, and has a great staff. Dr Nguyen is fantastic. Very friendly and extremely honest, no upselling unnecessary procedures which I really appreciated. She worked with my insurance and even ran some research on a mouth product I use and had questions about. No more avoiding crowded and expensive Manhattan dental offices. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to the same dentist for a few years now but decided to switch to this dental clinic for easier commute and they were great! I saw Dr. Nguyen - not only was she thorough in cleaning my teeth, but she was also very nice and asked me if I had any existing pain or issues and made sure I was comfortable throughout (asked me twice if I was doing ok). And David, the very friendly and upbeat hygienist, gives the very best (and totally painless) cleanings. Don’t feel anything and my teeth are very noticeably whiter and brighter when he’s done. Positive experience: I visited the office for an appointment with Dr. Nguyen and got my dental cleaning. She did okay, but I felt like she’s rushing the cleaning for some reasons. During the cleaning, she never asked me to raise my hands in case of unbearable discomfort which other doctors would ask, and she was so indifferent throughout the cleaning and I ended up feeling painful. Also, she pricked my upper lip with the cleaning tool which made this appointment not a pleasant experience for me. Their office is very nice and clean, and staffs are super friendly, but my overall experience with her was below my expectation.

Fantastic experience: Was in need of a dentist and came across Dr. Linh Nguyen, DDS while doing a coverage/zip code search. Familiar with the area, so reached out. She was taking new patients and I actually was able to get an appointment scheduled the next day. Staff upfront is pleasant, the doc runs on time, the whole experience was pretty easy. I got x-rays, a cleaning, a filling (which I knew I needed), and I'm hopefully good to go for 6 months. Fantastic experience: If you’re a person who has forgotten when you’ve had your last dental cleaning like me, the common reaction is to get super worried about your dental health. I was super anxious to schedule an appointment with a dentist, but after meeting with Dr. Nguyen, I realized that was worried for nothing! She was very gentle and SUPER nice and didn’t even make me feel so conscious about my teeth, that’s why after my cleaning (really well), I didn’t hesitate to schedule my next dental appointment right away. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. The facility is so cozy and clean and even the receptionist was nice. Michelle, who did an x-ray of my teeth, is so welcoming, too! Fantastic experience: Great service in a bright, clean office with friendly staff, easy check in on a tablet and my appointment started promptly at the moment it was to begin. You can lay back as they take X-rays and see them on the TV in front of you. The dental assistant and dentist were both very friendly and efficient with my cleaning/check up and Dr. Nguyen explained my options for some work I need done by an oral surgeon and gave me a referral. She is also pricing other options for me. On the way out you're given a cute goodie bag. Highly recommend as someone who hates going to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I'm not normally one to write reviews but have been meaning to write this one for several months now. I was looking for a new dentist in the area and came across Dr. Nguyen's profile on Zocdoc. I'm so glad I did because she and everyone in her office were top notch. She took her time to thoroughly clean and examine my teeth, and taught me a lot of things I didn't know! It was refreshing after having bad experiences with my previous dentist. Dr. Nguyen answered my questions with such professionalism and made me feel at ease when I normally dread going to the dentist LOL. I'd recommend her in a heart beat. I did not feel rushed at all, and she took the time to answer my questions and engage in conversation, which I appreciated. In addition, all the other staff, including the office staff and dental assistants, were also all very pleasant. The facility was very clean and modern, and the services and care I received were excellent. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: There was basically no wait time and the office was extremely clean. I was able to get an x-Ray, routine cleaning and two fillings done within 45 minutes. Dr. Nyugen was very gentle with the routine cleaning, and made the filling process as painless as possible. I usually get quite nervous at dentist appointments but Dr. Nyugen and her team made me feel as comfortable as possible by making sure I was feeling alright. 5/5!

Fantastic experience: Today was my first time visiting the office and first things first, the music is a vibe. Any place that plays 90s/2000s R&B is a W and the environment is friendly, chill, and warm (especially with the color orange!). It makes the dental visit way less intimidating. Anyway, it was my first time here and I needed a deep cleaning/scaling (be consistent and thorough with your dental hygiene, everyone). With the state of my gums/bones, there were moments of sharp sensitivity, but Dr. Nguyen was gentle, thorough, and considerate through the process. She was patient and sat through explaining different ways I can prevent my periodontitis from getting worse/accelerating after the cleaning. Michelle at the front desk was friendly too! I'm definitely going to be coming back and staying on top of my cleanings here.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best dental experience I’ve ever had! I am someone who gets incredibly anxious at the dentist and often avoids going. The reception staff was so kind and understanding, and the woman who took my x-rays explained the entire process to me. Dr. Nguyen encouraged me to listen to music on my headphones during the cleaning to calm my nerves and tune out the sound of the scraping. After the cleaning, she sat with me and answered any questions I had! Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: I think I've found my forever Dentist. First off, the office is SUPER clean, wait times were either extremely short or non existent. Like many, I too had a dentist phobia but Dr. Nguyen quickly eliminated that fear, she is very kind and very clear in terms of the procedures needed. I did two extractions with her, I expected both to be rather painful. She was incredibly compassionate and checked in with me every step of the way, it definitely made me feel taken care of. She's a pro! I live a bit far from this location but I will travel as long as it takes to get to her and her team, truly worth it. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: 10/10 experience. Dr. Nguyen is nice, thoughtful and very sophisticated. In addition to the basic cleaning, she took care of an unexpected cavity which was in a very tricky place, very patiently. Michelle is also very nice and she explained to me how the insurance works and let me know about the copay for the day in advance. I am glad to have this place in the community that I live in, and I will (and already lol) recommend this place to my friends.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful I found my new dentist! Dr. Judy Lee and Michelle were absolutely wonderful to work with. The office is pretty new and they definitely do not joke around when it comes to COVID. Everything is sanitized including the tablet used to fill out your information and your credit card after you pay. I was hesitant about going to the dentist since COVID started but the office's protocols reassured me. During my first exam, we found a good amount of cavities that needed fillings and Dr. Judy Lee walked me through the entire plan to make sure my dental insurance covered everything. I appreciated how upfront they were. Honestly speaking, I've never had such a pleasant dental experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Fantastic experience: My mom had some swelling on her cheek and needed to see a dentist ASAP. Dr. Cathy Lee was the only dentist within 25 miles that we were able to find an appointment on a Saturday afternoon. I waited outside however after the appointment was over my mother came out relieved and with peace of mind. Dr. Lee prescribed antibiotics and pain medicine - although she cannot treat my mom, she gave her recommendations. My mom said the whole experience so pleasant and the entire staff was so kind and patient. Thank you all!!!

Fantastic experience: Five stars does not do this dental practice justice. I was able to book an online appointment for the same day while experiencing intense wisdom tooth pain. Upon arrival, the reception team was bright, happy, and swift. I stood in the reception room for less than two minutes, and it really echoed the statement on their site about it not being a "waiting room". Dr. Nguyen was nice, personable, and talked me through everything. I also appreciated how quickly she came to speak with me. I've been at dental practices where I only see the doctor during the last five minutes of my appointment and this was the exact opposite. Almost my entire appointment time was spent with her. Above all the kindness and "bedside manner" I was given, she was able to help with my primary concern that same day. It was not an easy extraction but Dr. Nguyen and her whole team made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire thing. Not to mention i'm positive that they did not have it in their schedule for an exam AND extraction yet did it understanding that I was in an extreme level of pain. I will 100% be returning here and only here for my dental care. I'll be sure to sing it from the mountains how great this place is too.

Fantastic experience: I found this dental office through Yelp and I'm quite thorough and picky with my research and who I want to put my trust into when it comes to my teeth. Based on each dentist's bios on their website, it just seemed to be a place where they genuinely care about their patients and not how much insurance will pay them. I scheduled through their online booking tool with Dr. Judy Lee and received text notifications for reminders. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment and filled out a short patient form. The area is super clean and welcoming. The receptionist is really nice and they keep everything hygienic (she wiped my card down before handing it back to me!) It was my first visit so I took some bite wing X-rays, talked about my concerns and was asked a few questions before hand. Dr. Lee came to see me within 5 minutes and addressed my concerns once more. She recommends the best course of action based on what's best for your mouth and logically, your insurance. She'll never push you to do something that's not completely necessary. I had a cavity filling done on this visit and she was very thorough with the help of her assistant. She made sure to get my bite right no matter how many tries it took. Overall, I felt so at ease with the care and service at this office. Dr. Judy Lee is EXTREMELY nice and knowledgeable. Bedside manners is impeccable. Happy to make this my new office.

Fantastic experience: 1. The receptionist is very welcoming and professional :) 2. The dentist who saw my was Dr. Cathy Lee - Dr. Lee is very skilled and knows her stuff. She also catches very quickly whether you are in pain and makes sure you feel comfortable throughout the procedure. 3. Dr. Lee is an honest person and will not pressure you to get unnecessary procedures done. When I went in she noted that I have no other cavity / other problems other than the filling that broke. She will also provide you with all the options that are available to you so that you can make an informed decision. (For example, she told me that since I had the procedure done short time ago, the procedure will not be insurance covered if I get it done with her - but if I go back to my previous dentist he may do a repair for free of charge. She'll let you know all available options / their pros and cons.) +) Dr.Lee speaks Korean, for anyone looking for Korean-speaking dentist. I've been to three dentists in Queens area and I will be sticking with Dr. Lee :) Very happy!
