Negative experience: I’ve never personally had any issues during my own cleanings or fillings here, but today’s visit for my 5-year-old son was very disappointing. He was scheduled for a small filling, and I was told they would be using gas only — no numbing shot. We saw Dr. Chenoweth. While the dentist was drilling my son’s tooth, my son made a few noises (as any 5-year-old might when hearing a loud drill). Dr. Chenoweth told him to “be quiet, I have other people in the building.” Shortly after, they decided to use a needle. Instead of trying to ease my son’s fear or keep the needle out of his view, the dentist held it right in front of him. Naturally, my son got scared and started to cry. At that point, Dr. Chenoweth said, “Nope, not doing it,” stopped the procedure, and sent us on our way. I left extremely frustrated by the lack of patience and understanding shown toward my child. Dental visits can already be intimidating for young kids, and this experience made things worse instead of better.

Positive experience: I had Holly for a dental hygienist, she was OK, didn't explain what she was doing as she was doing it, just "open your mouth". I wanted to spit several times while she worked and rinse my mouth but was not given the chance, and I would struggle to swallow as she worked. That was not comfortable. Don't let my comments sway you away, I've had very good experiences there, treated well, felt I knew what was happening, and was well cared for my Carrie and the other staff.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had 2 different dentist at this practice. They are friendly and explain everything without making you feel like you need a dental degree to understand. They have gone as far as shooting me a check in email after procedure to make sure I am doing well. They have a hygienist, Andrea, who is amazing. Very thorough, walks you through what she is doing and why. She was gentle knowing I have gum sensitivity. Overall every experience has been great, which is refreshing given my previous history with Indiana dentists is way less than satisfactory!

Negative experience: We have been 100% happy for many years, 2 kids with braces. Daughter went in for a little glue to be added to her permanent bottom retainer. Charged $50 for a little glue and about 5 minutes of time! That’s a little overkill if you ask me!

Positive experience: I had a crown that came off and I was so happy to get in right away. I was a little disappointed when the dentist was busy and did not have time to see me. However I was rescheduled for Monday and the dentist was able to reattach it. I had the pleasure of being cared for by Ashley who was my dental assistant both days. She was very friendly and professional both times. She is a valuable asset to your team at Summit Dental. I highly recommend her and would be happy to have her the next time I have an an appointment.

Negative experience: NOT good with children, took 3 of the kids there the last 3 months that have been there since their 1st visit and they refused to do the work that was needed.They actually referred 2 of them to a different dentist!!!!Kept rescheduling 2 of them after we took them there because they were fidgeting in the chair after waiting 20 minutes in the chair.They used to be awesome but this year is awful!Way to make them fear the dentist!!!

Fantastic experience: Had chipped a tooth and Summit Dental was able to get me in the next morning. Such nice people to work with. Dr. Chenoweth is a very thorough dentist and explained everything. Fortunately, it was an easy fix.

Fantastic experience: We recently switch to Summit with Dr. O’Hara and could not be any happier! Our previous dentist was cold and told me my five year old would have to be put under with a specialist to ever be seen because of the trauma their practice had given her. Two minutes with Summit and my daughter felt right at home and now loves the dentist! The hygienists we saw were patient and INCREDIBLE! Dr. O’Hara was kind to both me and my little as I asked questions, she squirmed in her seat, and just over all made sure we were taken care of. I’ve heard a lot of negative reviews about practices pushing unnecessary work and cost and they’ve been great to work with, not once tried to tell me we needed something we don’t. As a mom, I could not recommend them enough. I will forever be grateful for how they treated us and the amazing experience they gave my daughter! Thank you a million times!
