Fantastic experience: Every dental place I’ve visited has had numerous errors and a lack of care, but not here! This place is a it. A special shoutout to Liz for her kindness and unwavering dedication to ensuring that my questions were answered and that my concerns were explained in detail to calm me down. Dr. Marwa was also fantastic; she answered all my questions without me even asking. She showed me everything to make sure I was comfortable. 10/10

Negative experience: I’ve been coming to Risas Aurora South for about 8 years now & today was just a disappointment. Everyone is always friendly so that’s never my concern. My concern is the lack of communication amongst the staff. I came in to pay for a cleaning, was TOLD I would be paying for a cleaning and that I could do a payments on a plan for any other work (X-rays, fillings, etc.). When I checked in I was told, “and this is for the cleaning?”. I was even called the day before for my “cleaning” & how I would be paying if not with insurance. I came in 10 min before my appt, wasn’t called back until 8 min after, I got my X-rays done, then waited in a room for almost an HOUR, just for them to say that I would have to pay more for a cleaning & for me to get my fillings done. I was confused cause I thought I had already paid for my cleaning…. My receipt I got for the payment had nothing listed… what kind of receipt doesn’t show the itemized invoice of what you paid for? When I expressed my frustration, It was met with no empathy. “I’m sorry….” Bs. This place left a disgusting taste in my mouth. Glad to know they no longer cater to lower income families & are more so money hungry just like the rest of corporate America…. Thanks I guess.

Fantastic experience: Great orthodontist spot, just started my braces journey and already seeing results. Dr la chica and Denisse took great care of me.

Negative experience: Had clear aligners here and while it did work, my experience was not the best. First off i had to wait 3 months to get my first set of aligners when i was told it would take max 6 weeks. During and after 6 weeks, i never got a phone call from them. I had to call several times to their useless call center to see what was going on and every time they promised to call me back with an update, they never did. Nothing happened until i had to show up at the dental office unannounced after several weeks of calling to finally get an explanation about what was going on and finally recieved my aligners after a couple days. I paid in full for my aligners on the first day so this was very frustrating. There was a lot more issues that I had here: Every appointment was 10 minutes with a 20-30 minute wait time, doctor would forget to tell me important info which i had to remind her several times. She was also not very helpful when I expressed concerns about my final results. You have to call into their call center instead of being able to call directly to their front office which is very inconvenient and unnecessary. For my final check in appointment I had to get new retainers in which they let me know it would take about 1-2 weeks to get, 2 weeks pass by and I never hear back from them (shocker). Only good thing about this place is that it's cheap and the receptionist are nice. If you want an unorganized and frustrating experience, you should come here!

Negative experience: I have previously been seen at this office. I have a new position that requires that I travel for work. I have an infection in my tooth. There is no availability for an appointment same day so i asked if they could order me an antibiotic so i could still make my work trip, but they said no. I was told I would have to wait till the next day for my dentist to return. Anyone that has had tooth pain understands how cruel this is to tell a patient. I can't travel like this and they are unwilling to help me today so on top of not being seen I'm going to be fired in this economy. I guess they're no different than comfort dental.

Negative experience: I rarely write a review but this office more than deserves it. Please take a second to read it, it might help you. After going through the first time customer patient exam and x-ray, I asked for a copy of my x-ray as well as all the dental work the doctor had suggested. They proceeded to tell me they could not give me any documents on what our visit was about and or my x-rays--simply referencing "corporate policy". The dental assistant proceeded to write 1/3 of the suggested dental work on a sticky note. Upon calling their corporate office and further insisting on the documents of the service I paid for, I was told they declined to give me any paperwork because I would be "comparing prices with other dentists, and getting a second opinion". This is not something I initially mentioned to them, but my gut feeling was correct walking away. I mentioned I'd be doing research when I declined to put a down payment down/ book the next visit. This was on the way out however, after being denied my records to begin with. I have filed for my documents to be emailed to me as I now know by law they can not withhold. Friendly people on the surface, but a very shady practice. In conclusion; I never mentioned shopping around, but even if I did-- I am entitled to the dental findings I paid for. This is your right as a consumer, and by law.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lachica and Liz are the perfect duo at Risas! My braces journey ended up being longer than expected, but throughout the entire process, Dr. Lachica was committed to doing everything she could to help close a stubborn gap in my bottom teeth. Liz did amazing, always gentle and patient, especially when I shared how sensitive my teeth were. She made sure I was comfortable every visit. Today, I finally got my braces off! There was a small hiccup with my bottom retainers, they came in from the manufacturer not fitting my bottom teeth right and popping off, but Liz and Dr. Lachica jumped into action right away. They made my bottom teeth retainers in-house, super quickly, and I was able to walk out with the straight smile I’ve been waiting for. Also, shoutout to their playlist! The music always creates such a good vibe and helps distract from the sound of dental tools. Thank you so much, Dr. Lachica and Liz — I’m beyond grateful for everything you’ve done!

Dr. Lachica is the best doctor I could’ve asked for, she took her time with me and didn’t rush to get my braces off and ensured that I would like my smile after my treatment. Negative experience: Made an emergency appointment for 1 pm. When I walked in for my APPOINTMENT they told me it was a walk In appointment and I could be waiting for an hour before I could be seen. I waited for over an hour before asking how much longer the wait would be. The front counter staff were extremely unhelpful and rude on top of that. I was told it may be another 30 mins by the rude staff member after she blamed me for making the wrong type of APPOINTMENT. They may be a cheap option for dental care but not worth the hassle or the wasted hours.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were first time patients today and I was extremely pleased with the service we received. The office itself is very clean, the staff is very kind, and they are efficient. We expressed some concerns we had about my husband’s teeth and they accommodated us in anyway that they could. I highly recommend Risas and am happy to say I will be returning here from now on!

Negative experience: This dental office lack of professionalism is unacceptable. I gave them my insurance information a week in advance (after rescheduling the previous appointment because they weren't able to verify my appointment) only to have them call me mid day on a Friday (again) to tell me they had not been able to verify my coverage. When I asked her why she waited until Friday afternoon to tell me this, she said we have a few hours to confirm before the insurance company closes even though, this is the exact same thing that happened last week when I had to rescheduled. I had even confirmed pushing my appointment out a week would allow enough time to confirm with my insurance and was told yes, they would have it verified on Monday. Poor communication and rude!

Negative experience: Me and my parents used to have so much respect for this place until they scammed them. They told my mom she needed a deep cleaning, my mom went to her appointment , and had her “deep cleaning” that only lasted about 20 mins, still charged her $400 dollars. I get the doctor needed to leave the office for the day but this is unacceptable. Definitely finding a new dental office for my parents….

Fantastic experience: First of all, having braces sounded like a nightmare to me. Risas has been so amazing for this journey of mine. The staff is seriously one of the best I’ve interacted with. The ladies at the front desk are always so pleasant and kind. The hygienists are very calm, helpful and so willing to answer any questions. The doctor cracks me up because she gets so excited to explain what’s going on and clearly loves to help her patients. I highly recommend this location. My experience having braces is nothing like I imagined and I really think it’s because when I come to this office they make it very welcoming and they do not hesitate to help and answer all the questions :)

Fantastic experience: These are my go-to people for anything dentistry. My child has orthodontics from them, specifically Dr. Chicas, who is absolutely phenomenal, (and very pretty if you happen to be her patient you will see) and general dentistry was recently added for her. The same daughter was recently treated by Dr. Elkharsity for a faulty front tooth. My kid would not smile for years because of this. But Dr E did her magic and she is smiling again. This is a good thing because of her boost in self-confidence, not so good because boys are noticing her now, lol. Tomorrow my wife will go in for tooth repair, I know she will be treated well. In addition, these people care, just take a look at the HAND written note they mailed to my daughter.They will treat you as family.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shaw is amazing. I am 45 years old and for the first time in my life I have a beautiful smile. This was an extremely hard choice for me to make as I am terrified of the dentist. I had to have 12 teeth pulled wait for Mt gums and bone to heal and then have my partials made. I'm still have adjustments done but all in all Sr. Shaw and his team took extremely good care of Mr and I am extremely satisfied with my new Smike! Fantastic experience: Went to get a permanent retainer replaced. They were all super friendly and made me feel super comfortable. I’ve always been a little nervous going to orthodontists, after having braces for years I always disliked it. Even though I was nervous, the orthodontist made me feel super comfortable and put me at ease. Highly recommend to anyone who needs dental work!

Negative experience: Red flag all of them need to be investigated ‼️‼️‼️ The dentist experiment I’m going through is a night mear I’m like fed up with all theses crooked places ‼️ They didn’t even deserve one star‼️‼️‼️ the doctors treated me as if I did something wrong and I’m 42 still trying to fix my teeth but get nothing but rude comments and them making my teeth worse‼️‼️

I recently came in for a cleaning and to get braces again and Dr. Lachica took amazing care of me. She gave me a great deal on my braces and advice on what would benefit me better!
