Fantastic experience: I came into Risas with braces that I had from Mexico, he still got me in here and finished off my braces treatment with them, (no other dentist would get me in with foreign braces) Dr. Larry is the best! He always made sure everything was right, he has great experience. I appreciate him and the team for helping me out

Fantastic experience: I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Risas. Both of my daughters received braces here, costing us around $12,000 total, and up until now everything had gone smoothly. However, during my daughter’s recent check-up, I was suddenly charged a $500 fee because she had not been seen in over six months. I was shocked, as no one mentioned anything about an additional fee when I scheduled the appointment. I assumed that if the timing was urgent or outside their allowed window, they would have informed me. Instead, I was told it was my responsibility to remember the timeframe, and that this policy was included in a contract I received over three years ago. We paid off her braces early and had no remaining balance, so being hit with a surprise $500 charge felt unreasonable—especially knowing how this could impact families during the holiday season. While I’m fortunate that the cost didn’t put me in a difficult position, I felt compelled to leave this review for others. I’ve never written a review before, but this situation felt like a complete money grab. Please be cautious—policies like this can catch you off guard. I hope others don’t end up in the same situation.

Fantastic experience: I left a great review after my first visit then I had to go back for a root canal. I ended up with a swollen face and jaw and in excruciating pain and a horrible infection that almost sent me to the hospital. I was given protective glasses that were filthy and had not been cleaned. I followed up with the dentist and was put on an antibiotic and prescribed a low dose pain medication. Three days later still swollen face and back in the office and sat in the waiting room for an hour in tears to get a second antibiotic and a stronger pain medicine while the front desk girls giggled and spoke in Spanish showing absolutely 0% care or concern. This infection took two weeks to recover from. Sanitization of equipment and chairs is so important especially in a medical/dental office I have to say Omar is great and I think the dentists are good but more attention to cleanliness of the equipment not overbooking and some empathy from the front desk staff for they’re patients may improve the business and experience for their patients.

Fantastic experience: Dr Larry and Joey helped me out amazingly! I haven’t been back in years due to volunteering in another state. I paid half upfront and Dr.Larry honored my braces deal and is helping me out despite my long time away! I’m eternally grateful to Dr. Larry and his staff for their help achieving a life long goal of mine! Thank you Risas Dental for everything! Getting braces off today super excited Dr.Larry and his team took care of me for years! Great staff great service! Amazing results!

Negative experience: I will never recommend this place to anyone. I came here to have my teeth checked and to find out what was wrong, hoping they would give me honest advice. Instead, all they did was try to push me to get braces. They never told me what I should do first before getting braces, which made me feel like they only cared about money. The office felt cold and lifeless, like there was no warmth or care there. The woman who checked my teeth completely changed her attitude when I said I couldn’t afford braces. She even forced me to pay $50 and never allowed me to go until I made my next appointment and just so I would come back, which felt so wrong. She became pushy and rude, and I felt so uncomfortable. I felt like I was a hostage if I don’t pay. I really hated how I was treated that day and never went back.

Fantastic experience: The Labor of Love event was such a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was great with all of the staff being so kind, helpful, and welcoming! From the staff that helped things run smooth with checking in and giving out food and water to us, to the x-ray tech, dental assistant Claudia, and Dr. York everyone was lovely! After this visit at Risas, interacting with all of the staff was such a nice experience and they all made me feel more comfortable going to the dentist and getting a filling less scary after having had not so great experiences at a different dentist office. Fantastic experience: Had excruciating tooth pain.... I mean EXCRUCIATING! Broke a tooth and was in the worst pain of my life. Meds, gel, heat, ice, clove oil, NOTHING helped! I called this location and they got me in first thing in the morning and are super friendly and acted quick to examine, and xray me. They were able to get the tooth pulled same appointment! And for a great price. Very happy with my experience.

Fantastic experience: My son is autistic, high functioning so you wouldn't catch on unless you're familiar with the spectrum.... I brought my 19 year old in this morning and he did good with the first needle, but he was having a panic attack about needing another shot. So instead of trying to talk him into it and make him feel bad, the Dr said okay, let's prescribe some meds to calm him down before he comes in again. Other dentists would have been more aggressive about it and that doesn't work for him. He's comfortable to come back and said he wants him as dentist forever. So thank you for being the peace he needed in that moment.

Fantastic experience: This is the third Risas office I have visited, and as they say, the third time's a charm! While I haven’t had any major work done yet, the customer service and overall experience have been outstanding. From the moment I walked in, Dr. York, Brenda, and Omar greeted me with warm smiles and genuine attentiveness. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff made me feel comfortable and valued.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best dentist office I’ve ever visited. After 9 straight days of pain to a point I was almost drinking orajel out of the bottle I called them for an exam to see what was going on. I came in with no health insurance and in a lot of pain but this team didn’t let it stop them from giving me the help that they could. In the end this place gave me hope good people do still exist. They performed an emergency extraction on a tooth I physically couldn’t pay to get pulled and helped me cover the cost. This way I could return to work pain free and work on setting up future visits to fix my mess of teeth. A massive Thank you dr.Rurke. For the first time in 9 days the pulsating pain on my right side is just gone and I couldn’t be more relieved and thankful. Will 100% be returning for future visits and will be sending my younger brother here for dental help as well.

Negative experience: I’m sure the reason why they have mostly good reviews is because they got nice people working there , but honestly they do some horrific work . I had my braces done here a few years ago and realized the outcome of my teeth don’t look any better . Also just because they have payment options or good deals here doesn’t make it a reason as to be a patient here . There are so many other more professional and knowledgeable dental offices out there just do your research . It’s better to pay a little more else where in a more experienced and professionally dental office and have the long lasting results you want than to save some bucks and have the worst outcome . I hope people realize oral health is so crucial to your health .. and this is not the place to trust with your dental care . I found a better dentist out in the Gilbert area. One of the dentist I got lucky to find is alpha dentistry . Please don’t think this is the only place just cause of their payment options and “nice” employees . Sad thing is I know someone else that had braces done there too and was let down too with their poor services .. I’m sure there’s a lot of others that just haven’t left a review .

Negative experience: Only giving 2 stars because of the front desk lady and hygienist west nice. As far as my experience, they maxed out my insurance limit of $1000. I got 2 teeth pulled and a root canal. Well they didn’t even mention a crown at all. Didn’t even last a year, the filling in the root canal broke off along with half of my tooth…. When I went I thought it was good and the experience was good, till recently I went to another company/dentist office,and Got the same work done…2 teeth pulled (wisdom teeth) and a root canal. Well the price is less than half of what risas charged. $480. Risas maxed out my insurance I never even got a receipt they just asked me if I was willing to do the whole thousand worth of work. I remember the X-ray and numbing charge being pretty expensive. Yes my insurance paid, but I feel they just charged the full $1000 regardless what I needed done. $520 more for the same exact work done is crazy. Especially the fact that this other dentist is making sure I get a crown over my root canal. Risas never even mentioned anything about a crown. So I was overcharged and now have a missing tooth, a tooth that is visible. Can’t smile anymore thanks to them. Even without the price difference, why would they not tell me I would need a crown? Because the appointments for crowns don’t bring in much money? I don’t get it.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Risas dental and braces at the Mesa location was great! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. Dr. Davis is my orthodontist, and I loved the way he explained my TX plan. He made me feel comfortable and I know I’m in good hands. I can’t wait to see my progress and final result in a couple of months. :)

Fantastic experience: Dr Larry, Nicole, the room was available quickly as soon as I came in. It was clean and all ready for my session. The assistant was as very gentle and nice with me. I really like their service. Will recommend.
