Fantastic experience: Last time I visited a dentist was over 20 years ago. I was nervous, and honestly very scared that I wouldn't be able to sit still through any procedure. They were the nicest from reception to dental surgery, the technicians and doctors made me feel like I was their favorite and only patient. They were especially understanding when I called them over and over for clarification and concerns. I was at their mercy, so I would have endured the worst experience, but it felt like one of the best experiences... I know, right? I wish all products/services came with this type of care for their customers. I hope we're that good to/with our customers.

Negative experience: Stop deleting my review my daughter would have been a new patient. With her mental health disability your rude person that answered the phone would not speak with me so we went somewhere else had 0 issues.

Fantastic experience: Staff has always been very polite to me. I don't know what this nonsense is about "Having to wait 2 years to get in", I've never had to go more than 2 weeks, and I wasn't in pain. When I was, they got me in the same day. It's amazing how far you can get just by treating people with respect.

Negative experience: Cancel my sons appointment bc I got a call and didn't answer it to change his time. What a joke. How are u just gonna cancel it bc I didn't change the time they say I didn't give conformation which is weird cuz they didn't even ask for it.

Fantastic experience: I appreciate the extra care they took. Constantly making sure I was doing ok. They were very caring and helpful, knowing I was in pain so getting me in as quick as possible and taking care of as much as they could. Very pleased with new dentist.

Negative experience: Found a different place to go cause they book out a year at a time and the people are pretty rude

Negative experience: If I could leave no stars I would. This place is a joke. I don’t even know where to start. I was booked out over a year for a cleaning, a week from my appointment they called to inform me they would be closed that day and needed to reschedule, they then booked me out another 6 months. I recently had a tooth chip and needed an emergency filling, got it filled and not even two weeks later it came out, they are giving me the run around telling me I need to come back in to see the doctor and schedule for another filling and I can’t do that over the phone. Mind you I already did this and they booked me out over a month waiting for a filling. The lady who answers the phone is so rude and shouldn’t work with people in general, she’s short and snotty, so much attitude. When I called to inform them it fell out she told me to come in right away but I wasn’t in town and couldn’t, she then gave me more attitude as if it was an inconvenience that I called if I can’t come in. The doctor who did my filling did not line the filling up with my tooth, or with the rest of my teeth and I had a gap. This place needs some serious help. What an embarrassment.

Zero complaints whatsoever. Update: Dropped my insurance. The dentist I enjoyed no longer works there. I no longer use this dental office. ‍

Made me feel very comfortable and safe. No judgement at all which is hard to find with some dental offices. Dr was also kind and reassured my anxieties. 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic experience: I got lucky and was able to be squeezed in for an emergency appointment. I was in so much pain and not able to eat or sleep at all. The staff was incredibly kind and caring, from the front desk, to the assistant Mindy, to the dentist, Dr. G! Very much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: Staff and Dr was very friendly, but having to wait over a year for a cleaning kind of defeats the purpose of regular dental care.

Negative experience: Canceled my appointment with no notice or text after confirming my appointment over text. Took showing up to my appointment to be told "oh we canceled your appointment". Never received a text communicating the cancelation. I made the original appointment in July 2024, appointment date set in Oct 2024. They canceled and go moved to Feb 2025, they canceled for the second time. Third appointment is a charm hopefully.... i don't recommend this office at all, between the hostile front desk, flakey communication skills and how often they cancel appointment.

Fantastic experience: Whenever I know I have to get a tooth pulled my number one fear of going is the needle pokes to get numbed up. Today was the first time EVER I didn’t have that problem. I had anxiety all day about it and the dentist made sure to let me know he will be making sure it’s all numbed. I didn’t feel not one bit of pain throughout the entire process and it was fast. I loved my dentist and dentist assistant!

Negative experience: Went here because my mouth is swollen and I am in incredible pain. They called me back immediately but the person doing my xray told me she was not a dental professional she proceeded to force the xray device in my mouth and cut my mouth up. I asked her to get me some water she never came back with water and after more than 2 hours I got up and left still in extreme pain. Going to go see my primary care physician now. If you are in pain do not go here they do not care

Fantastic experience: Even though the dentist was just filling in he was great even the rest of the staff ,upon my two teeth needing to be extracted they called me letting me know that an earlier time had become available this is one of many I have received from them in the same regards . You really get the feeling they care about their patients and the tunes aren't half bad either

Fantastic experience: I cant even begin to express how happy i am with MCDC after my 4 year olds first appointment today! I was so nervous being it was his first dentist appointment but they did absolutely amazing with him! They explained what all the tools they were going to be using to him and how they worked. They were so extremely friendly with him and made it a fun environment for him! Thank you to the nurse and doctor who made my son’s first dentist appointment one to remember!

Fantastic experience: UPDATE 10-2024 Still on my journey and absolutely love the new Dr. He is fantastic and humorous and they play great music!! I feel completely comfortable with him and all the staff. They all are so very kind and friendly. Highly Recommend if you’re looking for a new Dental Office. UPDATED 9-19-23 Just started my journey to having my smile back all thanks to Dr. Carmody. He is so kind. Lets you know everything he will be doing. The Tech was also amazing making sure I wasn’t drowning in my own spit!!! Love them all and Highly Recommended ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ UPDATED REVIEW 11-21 Broke a back tooth that was cutting the side of my tongue and bleeding and they got me in within 3 days and Dr. Carmody fixed me all up!! All of The Staff is Amazing and Leo is Also a Great Tech. They tell you every single thing that they will do prior to doing it and while they are doing it. They definitely take that extra step for their Clients What a wonderful place. Very sweet and friendly staff and hygienists and Dr. Carmody is the Nicest Dentist I’ve Ever Had!! Fantastic experience: Love the staff very courteous very professional Love Doctor Fitzpatrick takes his time and tells you what you need to know

Negative experience: The hygienist I had today was very rude, and when I told her, she was hurting me it seemed like she didn't care and even tried to make things hurt worst. Was scheduled for a cleaning but because of the time it took to fill out the paper work and she felt I needed a deep cleaning which I refused (Dr said there was no plaque built up under my gums) she told me she wouldn't do a regular cleaning for me. On the plus Dr. Miller was nice.

Positive experience: Been coming for 4+ years, never in my life have I had so many cancelations and issues, my friends and family too. Constant “staff shortages” and if you have a temporary filling, it’ll be months before you actually get a real one. I genuinely have never felt like my health was in the best interest, and the mass of positive reviews seem fishy, wish there was another Medicaid option. EDIT: they have made impressive improvements in scheduling, and quality, I believe the new male dentist (who’s name I sadly can’t recall) is an amazing addition and has really turned my experience around as of late.

Fantastic experience: This office really takes the time to make sure you are comfortable. They communicate everything they are doing, they answer all your questions and have a great sense of humor. Dr. Woo was absolutely fabulous, she has great table side manners.

Fantastic experience: I was there in 2001 had teeth pulled and was fitted for dentures I can say that my experience there was a good one I haven't been back since I received my dentures but now my dentures have become missing and they are willing to help me and fit me for new ones they have always been prompt I've never had to wait very long tĥey have always been very friendly and very helpful with any questions I may have

Negative experience: When they had the right employees they were accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, and all around very helpful. We ended up leaving for a new dentist because they would always cancel our appointments and were never able to see us.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, Kind, Caring very Great Dentists that work in the office. Explain everything well and so for far I love the service and treatment.

Negative experience: I had an appt that I had to wait a year for and the doctor they scheduled me with had moved to another one of their offices without warning. So when I showed up to my appt they couldn't do anything for me and told me to call the MCDC office that Dr transferred to. Well they said it would be a year and a half before I could be seen. So if you don't mind waiting 2 and half years and working with a medical office that doesn't communicate changes then this is it..

Negative experience: I have never meant a dentist office who made me feel so uncared for all of my life until I went to My Community Dental. On June 12th, I went in for a simple cavity filling. Just something routine. Something I've had done before, with no issues. This was the start of something way more than a routine cavity filling. Don't get me wrong, the staff are incredibly friendly. But that's about it. Issues started that day when they couldn't finish my cavity filling because the rot was so deep, had they continued, as I was told, that they'd hit nerve. So they stopped and put a temporary crown/filling in. They suggested I either get it pulled or try saving the tooth, and I obviously chose to try to save the tooth first. The first place they suggested was a place in Battle Creek. It's not a huge issue for most, but I myself do not drive, and one way, going to Battle Creek was an hour and a half. I tried calling around for closer places but made no headway. For the past couple of weeks, I've been in a lot of pain. My tooth is dying as I type out this review. It's discolored, loose, causing jaw pain, swelling. I called the Cedar Springs office several times asking for help. The only time they seemed interested in helping me was when I told them that my tooth is causing facial swelling. I called them asking for the Battle Creek number since I have sincd misplaced the paper from my visit in May. They told me the place wasn't in Battle Creek, but in Dearborn Heights. Dearborn Heights is a 2.5hr drive one way. I told them that I was told the place I was referred to was in Battle Creek, not Dearborn. They simply refused and made me feel like I was in idiot. Like this was my mistake. Either way, with being in so much pain, I didn't argue with them. I took the number down and called them. Want to know how soon they could see me and get me in? March of next year. August 1st, I called the Cedar Springs Dental Community office, this was when I finally told them that the pain has progressed into jaw pain and swelling. The desk told me to call as soon as they opened Friday morning so they could squeeze me in for an emergency visit. They sounded so sure that I'd be able to be squeezed in. I followed through. My mother(my transportation) and I were heading to the office while I called like I was told to by the staff. Once they did answer, they told me they couldn't see me because they were understaffed. They proceeded to give me the number to Walker's office to see if they could squeeze me in. I called them 16 times. Not a single answer from the 16 times I called. And now, not only is my tooth causing me extreme pain, it is also loose, causing bad breath, and I'm pretty sure the temporary filling/crown they put on my tooth has fallen out. Oh, also, I have a tooth on the too now, turning grey/black. That tooth was completely healthy in May. It's not healthy now. And now I fear there is more damage to be seen that I, myself, can not see

Fantastic experience: I've been with MCDC for a number of years now & I couldn't be happier. The staff is great, always focusing on my well being and delivering the highest quality care. I highly recommend MCDC.

Fantastic experience: I have had to have a lot of dental work done in the passed year and a half. Everyone that I have dealt with has been wonderful from the doctors to the desk. I am bad with names so as much as I would like to give a shout out to all of them I am not able to. But I am so glad that Mindy is a part of there team. She literally held my hand and talked me through a couple of things I had done. Thank you Mindy. And to the entire My Community Dental Care community for making my experience the best it could be.

Negative experience: My entire family has been coming here for years and I have never felt so disrespected. I came in for an emergency appointment and was well aware there would be a long wait. Long story short, I couldn't wait anymore because I was in pain. I went to the front desk to inform them I would be leaving, and neither of the front desk staff even acknowledged me. They were not on the phone or anything. I left and called to let them know I wasn't there any longer and what happened and wasn't even apologized to? Honestly so disrespectful. All of the Dentists and Hygienists are super nice and accommodating, but if you want some major attitude at the front desk, this is the place for you!

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for several years and everyone is so personable, kind, helpful and always do a great job. They've been so kind and accommodating. And today I just learned that they're redoing my partials at no cost to me bc my insurance won't pay for another one even though I have a medical condition (tmj) that requires me to have a different type of partial. I have no back teeth So getting partials that fit properly will help keep my jaw aligned and protect my front teeth especially since I can only chew my food. I have six teeth on top and 8 on bottom so it's difficult to chew. my front teeth are currently healthy, So getting partials that fit well really help with a lining my jaw properly lesson the pain and overwear of my front teeth from having to use only those to chew. I love this office and I'll never stop coming here no matter how far away I am. Thank you My community dental, dentist, hygienists and receptionists. Thank you for everything!

Fantastic experience: Update Below: Came in for the 1st denture impressions and saw Jamie, and she was awesome. She kept me calm and comfortable. Very nice place to come when you're a chicken. Dr Cao is so kind and gentle. Update: 3 months later and on the 3rd visit out of 6. Dr. Cao went to another office, and now we have Dr. Fitzpatrick. He takes his time and makes you feel very comfortable and lets you know what he is doing. He is also funny, and if he finds you telling a funny story, joke, he actually will snort when he laughs. I thought it was only in my family, but he does it too. The atmosphere is so calming and all the staff is amazing. Update: You can't imagine how happy Dr. Fitzpatrick and his group can make two people feel so happy. We have our final appointment coming up this month. The director came in two appointments ago for me and was not pleased with the results from the lab that did my teeth so he had it sent out to another one. What an amazing guy he is! I am so pleased to tell you that they did a great job, now it's the last time for them to go out to the lab for the permanent ones to be given to me. I am so excited and so is the other person I have been taking in for their dentures. There might be some minor adjustments to be done but I will finally be able to smile and not feel bad about my appearance. This believe it or not has been such an exciting time for me. Negative experience: Most unprofessional dentist on the area. My wife has been on a waiting list for almost 2 years first appointment was in the middle of 2022, Around Aug. She went in the dr told her she needs some teeth pulled that cannot be saved, that will have to be done at another time as we are short staffed. She was scheduled for December of 22 to get them pulled. I took time off work for the day of, less than 1 hour before arrival they called and said the provider quit. Ok we understand sometimes stuff happens. She is rescheduled for May of 23. Same deal I take work off we are talking the night before; man I hope they don't call us in the morning lol. Well this is no fairy tale they called less than 1 hour before her appointment, Dr is not in today. Now mind you my wifes getting infections and can hardly eat. She is assured this won't happen again and is rescheduled for May this year. Well took work off again and guess what. You already know what happened they called again less than 1 hour before her appointment. Dr called in, I'm reporting them to the BBB and every other place I can. Please don't waist 2 years in pain waiting for this pathetic excuse of a dentist. If they can't handle the procedure then just tell us! But three cancelations on the day of is no longer by chance this is intentional at this point and is disgusting. At this point I just hope I can save someone the trouble. I would never wish this pain on my worst enemy, not to mention for two years straight unacceptable!

Fantastic experience: The only downside to this place is the long waiting period to get in. I had my first appointment after waiting over a year and I am VERY impressed with MCDC. The hygienist was knowledgeable and so friendly. The Dentist was kind and sensitive to my needs. Highly recommend getting on the schedule here!

Negative experience: This place is a total farce. Everytime I come here for an appointment they come up with a new excuse to not see me. I haven't been able to get in for 6 months and my teeth are rotting out. The receptionist LITERALLY just laughed in my face while telling me my child isn't allowed to come with to my appointment. He has come into every appointment the entire time I've been coming here (over 2 yrs). Why is this suddenly a problem? Furthermore, if this has been a policy for the entire time, why haven't they said anything before and allowed him in? [They also will change your scheduled appointment times without asking you first and you will receive an automated text message with an appointment reminder.] They changed my appt time 3 different times for my last appt without my consent, then I was told that I either come to it or reschedule (for another 2-3 months beyond that appt day). I was around 11-12 mins beyond the appt time (due to other scheduled appts) and they told me I was too late for my appt. I had previously been informed of a 15 min window. That day a receptionist told me there is now a 10 min window, and "it's always been that way". The appointment prior to that, I was only running 5 mins behind, went to check in, and they told me I was too late for my appt, that it started "15 mins ago". That's when I tried to tell them I rly need to just chat with the Dr for a few mins to discuss removal of these teeth that are decaying. I realized then that the Dr had pulled someone else into my appt time frame. [The "emergency" pts are seen when they have a second to fit them in.] Once, I've even had it happen where I've shown up for an appointment and when I checked in, the appt didn't exist in their system. Not rescheduled; rather, cancelled. It's always one thing after another. I can't eat. I'm in pain. And they won't help. That's their true attitude towards patients.

Fantastic experience: The staff is friendly (Cedar Springs location) and helped to ease my 3 year old into her first check up. No cavities and a check up again in 6 mos. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: NEVER take your kids or a family here.!!! They are rude and not understanding. They text you twice to comfirm your appt, and if you don't respond (Because your phone is shut off ) they cancel your appointment though text messages,the appointment isn't tell next week. don't waste.

Fantastic experience: Always very courteous and helpful. They're great with kids. My kids never fear going to the dentist and actually look forward to going. I would definitely recommend this office.

Negative experience: After making an appointment over 9 months in advance, they changed the appointment time twice a week prior only to cancel it the day of the appointment. The next available time they could get me in was in another 8 months unless I call THEM every single morning to see if there is a cancellation (like the one they did to me 2 hours before my appointment).

Negative experience: Made an appointment in MAY. The appointment was for today (January) They called and said they were short staffed and can't get my husband in until JULY. It's unacceptable. I go here as well and they have been short staffed since AUGUST. HIRE more people. This is MESSED UP!!!!

Fantastic experience: Had my 6 month dental cleaning on Nov 6, 2023 and very happy with the procedure and care at my appointment. Everyone very friendly and caring.

Negative experience: Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Went in for an emergency extraction and that they didn’t even get me in! I waited THREE hours in their lobby and the EXTREMELY rude receptionist wouldn’t even ask for an eta. I was sent home without help! Do not waste your time here! I left in tears because of the staffs complete disregard for me as a person. Worst experience ever!

Negative experience: Had 3 fillings done this morning and dentist had a hard time getting floss between my teeth so he shaved my crown down and now it causes me pain and the feeling of food getting caught constantly. 5 weeks later and a handful of calls made to the office only to get no answers. I'll keep trying until they respond.

Negative experience: After waiting an entire YEAR to be seen. They cancelled on me because they won't have a hygienist in office which would've been fine until they told me I had to wait ANOTHER YEAR to be seen when it was their fault in the first place. I've been in pain and this was their solution. Thanks a lot never seen such poor service in my life!!! If I knew this was going to happen a year ago I would've never chosen this place. Beware!

Negative experience: Definitely changing my review The equipment is up to date. That’s the reason it’s getting the 2 stars. But … I’ve had multiple appointments cancelled because of them being “short staffed”, but the most recent… I had my appointment scheduled a year in advance and to cancel it a week before because of being short staffed is wild. Maybe cancel the patients who hadn’t scheduled over a year ago? Or hire more people? I went in for an emergency months before that and was told I needed a root canal.. on a tooth I’ve never had a problem with. I got a second opinion and … let’s just say the root canal would have been totally unnecessary. Doing fine now. But being short staffed is a really poor excuse, especially for something that was planned so far in advance. Makes you wonder why nobody wants to work there.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, very friendly and courteous, Dr. Carmody is fantastic. I’ve never had any pain or discomfort with several extractions and a few fillings. Used to avoid going to the dentist but not when I have an appointment here.

Fantastic experience: Very professional plus compassion keep asking if I was okay and I was very nervous but they made me feel better plus they moderated by blood pressure because it was really high when I first got there

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very very helpful and friendly. I didn’t have to sit long in the waiting room. I had prior bad experiences with other dentists, they put my mind at ease. I would totally recommend them.

Fantastic experience: The staff at mcdc in cedar springs are amazing. And the dentist himself is fabulous. I have had bad teeth so playing catch up. And the dentist team is like a family member amazing all the way around

Fantastic experience: This is the best dentist I’ve ever been to - between the people and the actual facility it is easily 5 stars. I’m young with a lot of trouble which can be very embarrassing and scary but every single person I’ve come across at this office has been wonderfully sweet and understanding. This is the place you need to be if you have high anxiety or are just looking for somewhere great to be seen!
