Fantastic experience: I had another great visit to Shelby Dental Care Center today. From the moment I walked in until I left, I was treated with respect and kindness by the most professional and knowledgeable staff ever. Dr. Lackey always listens and her recommendations have helped me keep all my teeth intact. I am so grateful and happy to have found a dental center that makes me feel like a priority and not just some patient. Thank y'all again and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Shelby Dental Care Center!

Fantastic experience: Hey, how fun can a DDS visit be? This was as pleasant of an experience one can have. Julie was kind and gentle while scraping and digging bad stuff from my teeth and gums. She didn’t even offer an argument when I refused the sticky fluoride treatment.

Fantastic experience: All were prompt, professional. and answered by specific questions immediately; The atmosphere was extremely pleasant and relaxing in all areas I was taken. And their services were effective and successful regarding my annual check, along with recommending required teeth restoration for a new crown, sharing their concerns without any pressure. Sharing their concern to contact them immediately if conditions change for the worse. I will have this condition resolved in Dec 2025. Kudos to Shelby Dental Care!!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to the Shelby Dental care for almost 3 years now … Dr. Cahill and her team is AMAZING… I love going to visit she was the one who pushed me to get my teeth fixed. She referred me to the best orthodontist there was and then to a good periodontist… Dr. Cahill and her team was there every step of the way. When it was time to get my Crowns Kim helped me with the financial situation and what was best for me .. she was friendly every step of the way as well. You want Dr. Cahill working on your teeth. She made sure everything was perfect and the experience is a 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Negative experience: BE CAREFUL. As a new patient I was NOT made aware of services provided that were not going to be covered by insurance. I called and spoke with Jessica about my concern and she stated she understands the issue and apologize's that they did not inform me of those charges and would address it with the office manager JULIE. Finally after 5 days of waiting for an answer I finally found out JULIE will not hold their business accountable for dropping the ball and information patients of what fees they would be responsible for. I have NEVER NEVER had this experience at a simple cleaning in my entire life. PLEASE BE CAREFUL at taking your business to this establishment as they are not for their patients but more so about falsely collecting funds

Fantastic experience: I have always been treated with the utmost respect by this office. I have been a patient over 10 years. The staff and Dr. Young are focused on good oral health. They go above and beyond to make sure I am well taken care of. They are meticulous about hygiene. In this age of Covid this attention to patient health and safety is appreciated. Unfortunately I am not at this office any longer. As I moved into retirement I chose an insurance (Mutual of Omaha)that Shelby Dental takes. Apparently Shelby Dental does take my type of Mutual of Omaha. After an approximately 15 year relationship with this company I had to change dentists.

Fantastic experience: I may or may not be leaving this review because I heard about a review contest. I'm a new patient, but my one experience here (or 3 appointments in one day, if you want to keep track), was great. But, regardless of a contest or not - the nice front desk lady, Emma the dental hygienist and Dr. Naisbit were all awesome. Emma is like the Michael Jordan of dentistry (which is a reference that I'm sure everyone reading this will understand) - she did 2 hours of deep cleaning on my teeth like a champ. Just like Michael, but different profession. Her hand was even sore at the end. Jordan didn't go to the bench when he had an issue, and neither did she. Lol. Dr. Naisbit was cool too, he was super kind when speaking with me and is clearly a knowledgeable and understanding guy. So he was like the Scottie Pippen of this dental office. Clutch, didn't do most of the work, but his work was necessary and appreciated. Or maybe I'm getting Jordan and Pippen confused. Idk, I was a baby when Jordan played his flu game. Thanks again to the team at Shelby Dental, Merry Christmas and happy new year to them.

Fantastic experience: Very professional! Very thorough. I really like the staff. Dr Allen is the best dentist I have had in over 30 years!! Tanya is so sweet and has the best personality too! I highly recommend them. I am so thrilled I found them! The while office staff is so friendly and helpful! The office is also very beautiful and upscale but their prices are lower than other practices in our area.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Shelby Dental since I was a teenager and it was then Young and Associates. I have never had any complaints and have always received top notch service. My hygienist, Julie Humphries, is the absolute best. She is a perfectionist at what she does and over these many years we have become friends as well. I can not praise this staff and office enough!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Mrs. Pauline for over 20 years, and I swear she’s the only reason I’m not still traumatized from the pediatric dentist I had as a kid. She has truly been my saving grace. She’s walked with me through every part of my dental care, always comforting, always patient, and always making me laugh. Her staff adores her, and I’ve seen firsthand the little things she does for them—even when it’s not a special occasion. It tells you everything about what kind of person she is. Every year I get the prettiest Christmas card too, which just shows how thoughtful she is inside and outside the office. My hygienist Danielle is amazing as well—I love hearing all about her and her daughter’s Disney trips. It makes cleaning day feel like catching up with a friend. My smile is still beautiful after all these years because of this whole team. If you want a dentist who is skilled, genuine, hilarious, and truly cares, Mrs. Pauline is it. Highly recommend! THE VIEW IS BEAUTIFUL, IVE SEEN DEER BEFORE

They care about their patients, they laughed with me and even shed tears with me. I would recommend them to anyone! I couldn’t even tell Cahill was in my mouth and I had extensive work done. Fantastic experience: The staff is friendly. Easy to schedule appointments. I have never had to wait more than a week for an appointment and ten minutes in the waiting room. They explain everything and help you to understand all your options.

Negative experience: They lied to me over the phone about doing oral sedation, get up there and payed almost $300.00 foot them to reschedule an appointment that I canceled due to not liking needles. 0 out of 10. And I highly recommend a different dentist.

Negative experience: Do not trust this Dentist office Something is going on in that business. They are dishonest They know what I am talking about They know how they did me Threatened to take me to court for their mistake. In my honest opinion They should be looked into for embesslment.

Negative experience: Had an appointment and needed to have a new insurance verified prior to annual cleaning. Couple minutes went by with me waiting the staff upfront were impatient and very unwelcoming not the atmosphere I prefer to go into and more than likely my last visit.

Fantastic experience: Went in for a quote due to a tooth breaking off. The team was very professional. Due to other financial obligations I was unable to pay for the procedure that day but they were able to accommodate me for next week

Negative experience: Even though they overbooked my appt and I had to wait while the dentist worked on another patient the Dentist was ok, the building is pretty but his assistant had a nasty attitude. I will never go back to that place.

Negative experience: Was having a great experience for about a year but now am being screwed over by charges that no one bothered to ask me to take on, very disappointed

Negative experience: Loved my dentist. But the billing department there are not honest. They never told me my insurance was out of network kept me coming getting work done. Kept over charging me. Than sue me because I should not have had to pay the extra fees. Don’t recommend. They only care about money!!!

Fantastic experience: The staff here are wonderful! They took into account, my son‘s high anxiety and talk to him asking many questions and listening to make a game plan that would work for him! I really appreciate them doing that. Most places don’t go above and beyond anymore. Dr. Lackey really seemed to care about calming his fears and giving him all the tools to be comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Today, June 5, 2025, my day was great because of my visit to Shelby Dental Care Center. Yes, a dental visit made my day. Taylor and Dr. Jessica Lackey were fabulous. They did everything to make my visit great. Taylor even gave me a neck pillow. I had a procedure done and I was walking out the door in a little over an hour. Fantastic experience: Today was my very first visit. My experience from walk in to walk out was seamless. You won’t find nicer folks to work with! Peyton and Dr Naisbitt were a pleasure! Knowledgeable, professional and very down to earth. I’m very timid about going to the dentist but, they put me at ease explained every step of what was being done! Fantastic experience: The Receptionist at the front was very pleasant, kind and welcoming. I absolutely loved my hygienist today, Miss Tina! She has such a wonderful bedside manner and made me feel at ease during every step of my deep cleaning. She’s super sweet, thorough and professional. I hope to get her for all of my future cleanings! Dr. Cahill is fabulous as well - she genuinely cares about her patients and their wellbeing.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency issue and couldn't get an appointment with my dentist. I looked for a dentist that would be able to get me in on such short notice. Luckily I found Shelby Dental Care Center and they could see me the same day. The staff was absolutely fantastic! They made me feel like I had always been a patient there. The dentist went over all my options and was very helpful with my decision. I will definitely go back and recommend them to others 10/10!

Negative experience: Prior to going to the office, I provided full insurance information, over the phone when I set the appointment. When I arrived at the office, I waited approximately 15 minutes after filling out paperwork and was told that was because they were verifying insurance coverage. I went in for a normal cleaning. After a well-orchestrated effort of everyone working there to convince me, I agreed to a more expensive service but I asked then for the total , and final, out of pocket expense for it and paid them then. After the visit, I got calls saying I owed more. I explained to them what I just typed in this review, and was told by the person calling they would talk to someone else at the business about it. I continued to get calls, and very unpleasant collection letters. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone.

Fantastic experience: The first time I went to Shelby Dental I was floored by how beautiful the building was when I pulled into the parking lot. Everytime I come in, the receptionist is sweet and they bring me back so fast. Hope does an amazing job on my teeth and gets all the tea stains off while giving me topical beforehand to make sure my sensitive gums are comfortable during my cleaning. Then Dr. Lackey comes in very sweet and laid back and she takes her time with me to answer my questions. This time I needed to have a new mouth guard made so Hope checked my insurance to see if they would cover it while I chatted with Dr. Lackey. So sweet of them to do! Thank you for another great visit!

Negative experience: I had a denture repair done, cost was $300+. One week later it broke exact same place, they did not honor repair, this office ain't the same with these new guys in it.

Negative experience: It's amazing that this practice is still open. Read all the bad reviews, folks. They are habitually acting as if insurance will cover, then charging patients full price, stating its not covered after the work us done. If you don't pay upon a threatening phone call and one bill, you get sued.

I’ve had a couple of dental emergencies over the past year or so and they took me right in and resolved my issues. Now they have developed a plan for me to get all my dental needs squared away. Extremely modern facilities with old time hospitality. Refreshing to do business with people who seem to genuinely appreciate that you have chosen them to do business with. I just wish everyone did business and conducted themselves like the employees of Shelby Dental Care Center.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful place to go. The staff is amazing and so helpful. I recently had a front tooth break the Sunday before my wedding. I was so worried I was going to have to say my vows with a broken tooth. But Dr. Caple had me fixed by 10 the next day, with a backup plan if it were to happen again.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Cahill is very organized, meticulous, and gentle. Not only does she do excellent work but she brightens my day. Her personality is very kind and positive. You can tell that she really enjoys helping her patients look and feel their best. Dr. Allen squeezed me in last minute and had me fixed and in and out in no time. He was thorough and answered all of my questions and I was happy with his anticipatory guidance. I really liked his dental assistant as well. She was informative, gentle, and appropriately funny.

Negative experience: Worst dentist ever! They are money hungry! Sued for $80 balance smh and I've been a patient for years. No sympathy for people at all, especially going through hurricane Helene, but you will get your $83! Ya'll are ridiculous. You could have at least called and threaten me for the money! I only received 1 call and I told her I will handle it once I get on my feet from being on disability. Find another dentist office instead of this one! Stop sending the Sheriffs to people's door when ya'll claim that's not something YOU do!

Negative experience: I contacted this dental care center and was told by staff that they were in network with my insurance. After my appointment for a routine teeth cleaning I received a bill a few months later regarding a 110.00 balance for services. Apparently they no longer are in network with my insurance. I had not paid the bill ( honestly forgot) and received a threatening voicemail today stating that if I didn't pay it by Monday that they would charge a 120.00 fee to file papers in court against me. I did call and set up a payment plan but make sure your insurance is actually in network so you don't get screwed like I did. When I switched dentists it was like pulling teeth for them to release my records to my new dentist and then only sent them one set of x-rays and not both the panorama and bitewings or notes of what was needing to be fixed. Do not use this place!!

Fantastic experience: I got a tooth pulled today that was causing me pain for the past week by Dr. Lackey and she was so friendly and informative. When it comes to anything dental I get extra anxious and she was super kind. Thank you so much! And her assistant was great too.

Fantastic experience: Calling assuming that it would take at least 3 months to get an appointment for my disabled husband or myself. Especially being new patients. I was asked if I could bring husband that day at 4pm. Me babysitting my 4 week old great-grandson for the first time said yes thinking mom would be back before that time. When Mom wasn't back, I being discombobulated, packed both up, put them in car and headed to the office. After arriving, everyone was awesome in helping. They even went as far as watching the baby when they realized that they had an opening for me also. I couldn't have asked for a better team. As far as I'm concerned, there are no other dental offices. THANK YOU Shelby Dental Care Center for your warm caring hearts and professional services also. You get ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from my husband and I. Fantastic experience: This was the first time I’ve walked into a dentist office and not felt anxiety. The texts and calls leading up to the appointment were helpful and all the employees were super nice and made me feel very welcomed! The doctor went above and beyond to get me a treatment plan and no one made me feel bad for not seeing a dentist in a long time. 10/10 experience.

Fantastic experience: Everyone, from phone call, to receptionist, assistant, billing, and the dentist were amazing! Friendly, professional, and the dentist (I was nervous about the extraction and forgot is name) is incredibly patient, informative, and gentle. 100% recommend.

Negative experience: Reached out to find help for my 9yr old with bad tooth ache after going to er. Then his regular dentist wasn't open. They would see him after I paid 150.00 made appointment they take him back look at problem say same as er doc did at 2am infection with cavity. Ordered antibiotics called in told us go home let antibiotics work call back. No xrays no pain shot and next trip be 800.00. At least er doc gave him Ibprofen and other pain meds along with numbing his tooth go give youngun some relieve. Jennifer was the only bright spot in the building. Bill Couch
