Fantastic experience: Dr. Barrer came to us highly recommended and she was indeed amazing! So patient and sensitive, while explaining the entire process to my son and my myself. Very pleased that she will be our orthodontist. 2026…adding to this post. Today we came for a dental appt with Dr. Chen and Jamie and they were out of this world!! Both so enthusiastic and knew exactly how to calm my anxious child and didn’t make him feel like he was being “too much”. Explained all the medical aspects clearly to both of us. He is not nervous at all to go back in 6 months. Thank you again!!

Fantastic experience: It was my son's first visit to the dentist. He's 3 years old. MVP Smiles was very child friendly and the staff were very friendly as well. When my son was treated, they made him feel so welcoming and comfortable. My son adapted right away . I knew I made the right choice of MVP SMILES! I can't wait to take my son back!

If I have a dental emergency, they get us in asap. They are always so very welcoming and pleasant. My 6yo loves going to the dentist because of them.

Fantastic experience: I took my daughter to MVP Smiles Dental and had a great experience. The staff was welcoming and professional, and they explained everything clearly without pressure. The app makes communication easy, and parking is no problem. The only thing I’d suggest is making the waiting room more kid-friendly (some engaging activities), but overall I’m very happy and definitely recommend them!

The staff were really friendly and made me feel comfortable the whole time. They explained everything clearly and didn’t rush through anything. Honestly, I’d recommend it if you want a dentist that’s actually chill and professional at the same time.

We strongly recommend this place for kids dental issues.

Fantastic experience: My son had his first 1-year dentist appointment today. Everyone was so kind and patient with him. Registration was easy, and booking was quick. Thank you all for such a great first-time experience! As a first time parent it was a heartwarming experience to see everyone treat him with kindness.

Fantastic experience: My family was visiting my sister in Maryland when my 7-year-old son unfortunately face planted on the tile and damaged his two front teeth (permanent teeth). My sister's kids go to MVP Smiles, and they were able to get us in the same day to triage, and then set up an appointment within a few days to do the bonding. We saw Dr. Hai Ngo, and he was excellent. Very patient, kind, and knowledgeable. When we got back home to Florida, my son had a follow-up with his regular dentist, and she remarked that Dr. Ngo did an excellent job and that the color of the bonding matched his permanent teeth perfectly. I'm happy my niece and nephew see Dr. Ngo. Hopefully we won't need any more dental work while on vacation, but if we do, I'd definitely go back! Highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: My kids have been going to this office for the past few years! The staff is friendly and helpful, the dentists know how to handle difficult children (like my 7 year old) and are extremely professional. AMAZING practice, highly recommended. I also have a 15 year old who switched orthodontists because Dr. Barrer made him feel comfortable and very patient with him. It is also very convenient to be able to kill two birds with one stone!!!!!

Negative experience: My family was just 6 min late and they refused to take them in. They offered the worst customer service we have experienced with a dentist’s office. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been going there since she had her first teeth and the staff made her cleaning very easy. She may freak out a little but they find ways to keep her calm when checking her teeth.

Negative experience: Good service, but the reception staff is terrible. They are rude and ignore customers. It's unfortunate because the service is good, but due to the poor professionalism of the reception staff, I'll look elsewhere. I hope they can resolve this problem and raise more awareness among the staff about disrespectful behavior, because it's a good place. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: My son and I had a great experience. All the staff was courteous and knowledgeable, and accommodating to my son’s special needs. He was seen promptly, even a little early. The check out procedure was also, quick and easy. I really appreciate the kindness and caring of all the staff.

Dr Barrer for ortho takes a reassuring, measured approach and is just as pleasant. These visits are a happy experience for us all and I’m just sad that my tweens will age out all too soon.

Fantastic experience: I’m a new patient at MVP smiles. My 1st visit with the staff at MVP smiles was amazing. They were welcoming, knowledgeable and supportive. They took the time to explain treatment options and future treatment plan for my children. I was able to get immediate treatment on the same visit after noticing treatment was needed. My appointment was an annual cleaning, so having the ability to take care of the issue then and there is such a huge advantage. My children enjoyed the staffs warm demeanor and playful techniques to make their experience unique. The office itself is spacious and clean. The setup is family friendly which makes visits easier for bigger families. At the end of the visit goodie bags were given to the children which included a nice toothbrush/floss/ toothpaste and for the younger ones they added a few toys. Overall I’m pleased with my switch to MVP Smiles and highly recommend the office to future families.

Fantastic experience: Great doctor and hygienists here. Have been bringing my two kids here since they were little, one had braces and the other Invisalign. Now they both still go there for cleaning as young adults.

Fantastic experience: I brought both of my grandsons in for dental visits today. They both had a superb visit! This was one of my grandson’s first visit here and everyone was so patient, kind, and accommodating. Sherina, the hygienist, was the absolute best hygienist I’ve ever met!! She explained things in detail to me and my 4 year old grandson. She was able to lower his anxiety and keep him in the dental chair and actually clean his teeth when no other hygienist was able to. Dr Monica was his dentist and she was excellent!! I loved how she took so many factors into consideration when deciding his treatment. The assistants, Jaime and Rosa, were very welcoming and fun as well!! Thank you MVP Smiles! I gave you guys 5 stars because you have 5 star staff members from the front to the back! Please do whatever you need to do to keep your staff!!

Fantastic experience: MVP Smiles is the 2016-2017 Golden State Warriors of dental care— an unbeatable team. Dr. Kwatra and Dr. Hai are the Splash Brothers of the office. Dr. Kwatra, like Steph Curry, brings leadership, vision, and unmatched skill to the practice, while Dr. Hai, the Klay Thompson of the duo, is steady, sharp, and always clutch with top-tier care. Dr. Barrer, the orthodontics star, is the Kevin Durant of the team— talented, reliable, and a true game-changer for anyone looking to perfect their smile. And then there’s Jamie, the Draymond Green of the practice. She’s the heart and soul, keeping everything running smoothly with energy, coordination, and a touch of humor. I can’t recommend MVP Smiles enough, as they have been the team I’ve trusted for 20 years!

Negative experience: Dental hygenists Jaimie and Erika would gossip about other patients and families in front of me when I was a child-patient here. They were often rude and miserable and had unkind things to say --they acted very different in front of other people. My mistrust of healthcare professionals started with them and as a child I did not realize how unacceptable this is. Very nasty and unprofessional :(

Fantastic experience: My daughter had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Hai & assistant Amanda. She needed 2 crowns and a cavity filled. To say our experiences with Dr. Hai & Amanda was amazing would be an understatement. We drove from Frederick and it was well worth the 40min drive. They were Clean, professional and so focused on making sure my daughter felt comfortable throughout the enter process. Thank you Dr. Hai & Amanda.

Fantastic experience: MVP Smiles has been an absolutely all-around wonderful experience for our family. The front office staff are friendly and quick to respond; they also stay in touch through a variety of communications to remind us of our upcoming appointments as well as getting the paperwork completed ahead of our appointments. When my boys were considererably younger, my oldest fell on the monkey bars and hit his front teeth. Dr. Kwatra called me personally multiple times, had me come in immediately and x-rayed his mouth and then explained different scenarios that could happen. He was calm, gentle and extremely reassuring. Luckily, nothing happened and we have not had any emergencies so it's been routine visits ever since. I also appreciate that the dental staff are clear about what is necessary and what is optional, and there is never any pressure to upgrade services. Lastly, the hygienists are funny with my teenage boys and my kids always go in easily and come out laughing... usually knowing that they need to brush and floss more!

Negative experience: Alicia is horrible . All I did was try to reschedule my appointment for my kids and she threatens me with calling healthy smiles health care. Fantastic experience: My 5 children have been attending MVP Smiles for 5 years now. They have been AMAZING in every area. From customer service to the dentist. My children LOVE going. They treat them with love, respect, and sooooo much care. They praise their good behavior and compliment them as they are getting their teeth cleaned. Give them their "goody" bag which has am awesome tooth brush, toothpaste, floss picks (to encourage me), and a toy!!! 5 starts does not give justice to their WHOLE team! Fantastic experience: I adore MVP Smiles they are so good with children and children with special needs ...they also explain everything thoroughly and they listen and answer all my questions and concerns ...their responses are gentle and kind ...everyone there even the receptionist are very kind ....you can tell they are in this profession to help children and make them feel comfortable because my grandchildren are a handful and they show that they are happy to see them every time ...they also come out to greet them and they took the time to remember their names and who they are as well as what they like ...that makes a big difference because kids like to feel important and they like to know that what they say is important as well ...Thank you MPV Smiles for making my grandchildren feel special ... FYI you will simply fall in love with all the doctors and staff there especially Dr. Kwatra ....but to be honest they all have a warming smile when they greet you ...

Fantastic experience: First time visit for my son, had to switch from our old dentist since I got new insurance. Everything was easy to set up, filled out all paperwork before first appointment. Checking in was easy. Got us back before our appointment time. The checkup went great everyone was friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful office and very organized! My son had a dental emergency and I found this office on Google. Every one we spoke to over the phone or in the office was very nice and caring and we felt very taking care of. The doctor was nice and friendly but also thorough and attentive. We're coming back for the follow up and hopefully can remain patients.

Negative experience: As a mother I am so sad I trusted this practice/ Dr Barrer was grossly incompetent and ruined my daughter's smile and her teeth health and was terrible at explaining things. But worst of all, Kwatra and Barrer were bully-ish and had no issue lying to our faces at a recent meeting -- They tried to confuse and belittle us even though they lost records and other dentists agree that treatment was bad. They offered 5K (we refused) which is way less than what we paid for ---very scary to see medical gaslighting in action. It’s sickening me I trusted this practice. My lawyer said they would have been in big trouble had we filed earlier about the mal-treatment.... avoid at all costs!!

Fantastic experience: My 9 year old son had a wonderful experience at MVP Smiles. From the staff at the receptionist desk to the actual Dr., everyone was so kind and welcoming. Our pediatric dentist had recommended another Orthodontist a few years ago and touted them as the best of the best. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience and felt that the whole team particularly the Dr. We’re extremely condescending so we put off going to another orthodontist for a few years until now. The Orthodontist at MVP Smiles was patient, welcoming and took the time to listen to our concerns but most importantly did not dismiss them! Would highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: The reception staff and the orthodontist were very professional and as always made my daughter relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for a great dentist or orthodontist in the Gaithersburg area!

Negative experience: Dr. Barrer’s orthodontic treatment left me with a painful and flared smile —- after an abnormally long treatment time, she didn’t share that it was still incomplete. She had no issue lying about the loss and accuracy of medical and billing records. Please don’t put your kids in her care - their smiles are precious and deserve better.

Ive had past experiences where dentist would be friendly, but never cared enough to answer my questions, give me recommendations, and explain steps needed to be taken.

They are also very caring and will provide a safe and happy place for the little ones! My daughter loves going there.

I expressed my concerns when scheduling my appointment and to my surprise I was fit in that same day to see Dr. Barrer. My experience with her was nothing short than amazing. Dr. Barrer was quick, efficient, and confident. In less than 10 min she told me what I needed to do in order to be in position to start my journey with Invisalign. I am looking forward to my new smile.

Positive experience: I tried to changed my appointment due to traveling 24 hours before they said it could only be done 48 hours, so I ahd to leave late to my travel .and the lady at the front desk told me that if I don't bring my son my insurance could cancel his insurance. I been going to this office for about 8 year got all my 3 kids in this office first time I wanted a re schedule or an earlier appointment but couldn't do it

Fantastic experience: MVP smiles is the best! My three year old was terrified and they were so patient and reassuring. They’re also great with my older son who is on the Autism spectrum- previewing what they were going to do and letting him ask lots of questions.
