Fantastic experience: On my visit for an in-house procedure I was paired with Jasmine, the nurse/dental assistant. She could tell I was nervous for what was to come. She displayed a pleasant, effervescent demeanor which was almost immediately disarming. I am unfamiliar with the standards of the practice, but it seemed that Jasmine went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and insured me. I was in good hands. Offering insight on the procedure as well as knowledgeable input. Her presence and assistance paired with the doctors swift and precise execution of my procedure solidified the fact that I made the right decision with this practice.

Fantastic experience: I was referred today by my dentist, and AOFS was able to see me later that after noon. I arrived a bit early and they were very accommodating. They completed X-rays, thoroughly reviewed my treatment plan, answered any questions I had, and reviewed anticipated costs. My procedure is scheduled a few days from now, but Dr. Schaner and his team gave a good first impression.

Fantastic experience: I’ve seen Dr Sherrell several times for a reoccurring problem that no one could figure out. He and his staff are so kind and caring. The Doctor took a very long time investigating the history of the ulcers, gave me a treatment that worked. It was like a miracle. Maintaining treatment is easy and I haven’t had a reoccurrence in 6 months. Front staff is also very friendly and nice. Fabulous doctor and practice. I highly recommend them.

Positive experience: My appointment was for 3:30 pm and upon my arrival, the waiting area was full. After waiting 45 minutes one client who was present when I arrived asked one of the ladies working the front desk how much longer she had before she would be seen because every time she visits there is a long wait. She was advised that there were 2 people ahead of her. I was called about 10 minutes later. I would say that I was greeted warmly and took advantage of enjoying the complimentary coffee bar. Dr. Schaner and the dental assistant Amy were also friendly and very thorough which I greatly appreciated. Thank God I completed my documents online beforehand. The facility is very nice and appealing.

Negative experience: If I could give both of the offices 0 stars I would. The East Cobb and West Cobb offices don’t communicate at all and they are supposed to be connected. I was scheduled for surgery and they gave me the run around after I had given them everything they needed from my surgical clearance in a timely manner. They called me asking questions that they should have called my doctors office for and they didn’t communicate between each other about my chart information. They also refused to give me adequate information from my chart when requested. I got excuses after excuses and was treated as if I wasn’t knowledgable as a patient. I cancelled my surgery because not only were they last minute if they have terrible customer service then what can you expect when someone is going in your mouth. Not worth the hassle & pain. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Negative experience: We visited this office for a consultation of my daughter's wisdom teeth extraction because of the high review score on Google. We had to wait for 2 weeks for the visit, and we can't get an estimate of the procedure before the consultation, even after I sent in her full-mouth x-ray, dentist referral, and the insurance information. I was told that the treatment plan can only be done after the consultation. So we waited for 2 weeks. The experience on the consultation visit was positive, and the doctor and staff were all friendly. However, the estimated price was extremely high. Although I have good dental insurance which covers at 80% of the extraction service, I was surprised to see that the out of pocket cost was several thousand dollars for the regular extraction of 4 wisdom teeth under IV sedation, since the total charges are two times over my annual benefit maximum. We ended up not using this office for the teeth extraction. We got it done at another reputable oral surgery also in Marietta with only one-sixth of the out of pocket expense, and the procedure went smoothly. If you are a cost conscious customer, I would not recommend this office because of the extremely high cost.

Fantastic experience: All I had was a consultation today and I intend to leave a follow up review after my wisdom teeth removal. So far I’ve had a really positive experience. My official dentist and their assistant were both very kind. The assistant was definitely honest with me and provided an honest energy that I hope to see anytime I’m in a doctors office. As a young darkskin woman, I was a bit nervous when I first entered because there was only one family that looked like me and no one behind the desk looked like me, until I saw the dental assistant, which was a relief. I bring up race for reasons that may only be obvious to those who look like me. To those who don’t understand, there was a comment about someone having a bad experience at their dental office that was race specific when I was doing research to decide a dental location, I cannot say it was this location because I genuinely don’t remember. But it did make me realize it’s important to mention if you had a poor race-related experience. Lucky for me, so far I do not expect that issue with this location!! My doctor was very perky and respectful, al my questions were answered kindly, and I had the full attention of everyone I spoke to. I would say the only thing that made my experience uncomfortable was the price AFTER insurance. A receptionist did suggest 2 financial aid options, something I expect they do for everyone who hesitates and a good sign on the companies part. Since how much insurance covers has nothing to do with the location, I can proudly say I had a very successful consultation.

Negative experience: Parents and Patients, If you are willing to wait for one hour or more, this is the place you have to go. But if you are like me with a busy life and expect to be attended on time, especially because you commute from far and take your kid out of school, you should definitely avoid this place. I was there waiting for almost 1:15hs and had no estimated time to attend me. Similar to me I saw a mom sleeping of so long she was waiting for and I heard an old sir around his 80s that was attended 4.30pm and asked...what happened to my 3.30pm appointment? So after so much disrespect I decided to leave. I DO NOT recommend this place. Just as additional information the surgeon dentist is Schaner. I understand complications can happen, but they have 2 receptionists who could be calling patients and let them know of the delay instead of being there doing nothing but talking and laughing.

Fantastic experience: I didn't know what I could do. My teeth were breaking off. I was having multiple infections in my mouth. I got a call from a very helpful and kind TC who was able to schedule me in soon to remove these bad teeth and improve my dental health. She was very understanding that I have autism. My greatest fear was getting an infection and it go to somewhere else in my body and die and leave my wife alone to raise our two girls with special needs.

Negative experience: I have not had a good experience with this company. I ended up not going with them but I was charged for services that were not done and I have struggled to get my money back. All offices have put me on a back and forth emails and phone calls saying they have returned payment and they haven’t. The office ladies do not know what they’re doing or are trying to steal from me. Seems very money hungry. They’re ready to take your money but don’t care about you if you decide to wait on the surgery. Not recommended to anyone if they’re going to tear someone this way. When trying to communicate with people in the office Alex ( the receptionist) will hang up on you and not return calls. When she did she thought I was trying to schedule an appointment and when I said no it’s me again she wanted nothing to do with my situation regarding returning my funds.

The doctor is very personable and insured you know exactly what is going on during procedure. Never been to a practice where the doctor has to ask for anything, the assistant already knows what he needs and has it ready. Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth removed here and the experience was so great! They explained every part of the procedure thoroughly and made sure I felt very comfortable. There was a point in my healing process that I was worried about a spot in my mouth and they were quick to ask me to come back in. Nothing was wrong, but they were so nice about checking it out for me!

Negative experience: My daughter had her wisdom teeth removed here. She was very nervous. They would not let me go back with her in the beginning or at the end when she was waking up from anesthesia. They talked about her during prep like she wasn't there. After the procedure, she was very confused and no one talked to her. They just put her in the car. She was upset. She didn't know how the procedure went or given any reassurance. Also, no one asked either of us if we wanted to keep her wisdom teeth. When I asked later, they said I was supposed to tell them, so they threw them away. There was no follow-up appointment either. It was very expensive, too. We were given a price agreement 2 months before the procedure that was signed by my husband ($1,500 after insurance). They called us a week before telling us the person who gave us the price made a mistake and it really is $2,500. That's $1,000 we didn't have a budget for. When I tried to reschedule, no one would call me back. I left messages for 3 days. When I finally got to speak to someone, they said that the billing person who made mistake was no longer there. Overall, very disappointed with this practice. Our dentist recommended them, so we were expecting better experience. Another one of my neighbors had a very similar experience.

Negative experience: I need dental clearance for heart surgery. The dentist referred me to this place. When I called it was too far out I needed it sooner so I waited to book. A few days later I called back & booked appointment for today. Don’t remember giving insurance info. When I get there today I was told that they are not in network & someone called me yesterday to tell me. Looked in my recents - no one from there called yesterday- someone called Monday re my dental insurance & I gave her the name & phone. Silence since. They swore that someone had called & said I could self pay which is impossible for what needs to be worked on. I can no longer drive so my friend & roommate rushed home to take me. It’s 97 today. Now because they did not check my insurance immediately & wait until a few days before & then falsify notes that someone spoke with me yesterday I now must start over tomorrow to find & book appointment- which hopefully can be soon. So much time & energy taken away from me.

Fantastic experience: We've had nothing but great customer experiences at Atlanta Oral and Facial Surgery. The staff members are all very polite and they do an outstanding job putting young patients at ease.

Fantastic experience: I felt like Doctor Sherrell took the time to really listen to my concerns. He seemed very knowledgable and explained his findings clearly. I also appreciated his conservative approach to my plan of care moving forward.

Negative experience: Back to revise- I received a bill months after my surgery for an additional $390 after signing a payment agreement and settling my account before leaving the office. The billing staff member who had my husband sign the agreement because they had already put me under, no longer works there and I see why! We were almost sent to collections for an extra charge we didn't expect or agree to. Won't be back. Shame on you for scamming. I don't enjoy the dentist, never have and never will or so I thought. The professionalism, precision and tender care that the staff at this location of Atlanta Oral and Facial Surgery is amazing! For the first time in my life, I walked inti a dentistry office and didn't faint or feel weak or nauseated. I hope I don't have to have any more tooth extractions or bone grafting but if I do, I know who I'm calling.

Fantastic experience: Today was my first visit with Dr. Wesley Sherrell for an autoimmune problem that had been diagnosed and treated by another doctor. While I got good treatment before, Dr. Sherrell explained in detail what it is,how we should treat it, foods to avoid toothpastes to use and mouthwash to use and avoid. Having this knowledge will help control flares and keep me whole. I was and am very grateful and pleased with his care.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience from beginning to end; truly have no negative statements. This is the second time I come and see Dr. Bolden. Some years back he did all 4 of my wisdom teeth in one shot so now when I was looking for someone to extract a tooth I knew exactly who to go back to. The convenience of multiple offices around town is pretty great as well.
