I had some dental work done today and Dr. Mitchell was very gentle and has a wonderful chair side manner. They also are very transparent about pricing and work hard with insurance to get as much of the procedure covered as possible. They also are great with my kids and Haas is a fantastic hygienist. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a dentist!

Negative experience: I have been going here for 4 years now. I absolutely love the entire staff! They are all super caring and compassionate. I had a lot of work that was done by my terrible dentist before and now Dr. Hilton has been getting me all fixed up! All of their work has held up amazingly. Would recommend to anyone that has had trouble with dentist before! I no longer dread going to the dentist because of their honesty and caring attitudes and amazing work! Update: no longer go here, whole staff has changed including the dentist.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at this office is so nice and helpful! My hygienist was so gentle and checked to make sure I was ok throughout the cleaning. She didn't use the tool that makes my teeth sensitive either, it was all done by hand! Which is hard to find a hygienist that does that. Would recommend!

Negative experience: AVOID this place like the PLAGUE- Had gotten a cavity filling, when I saw the needle for the local anesthesia, he asked me if I was nervous bc of the look on my face. I said yes, very. I have a huge fear of needles (I lost a friend to heroine overdose a long time ago and I don’t mess with needles unless it’s absolutely necessary, I’ve always had dentists use the numbing gel they’ve never just whipped out a syringe for a cavity) then he laughed at me, told me to “go get a hysterectomy, then come back and complain about needles!” I was stunned. Started to cry. While he started in, laughed again and asked if I was crying. Then apparently he upped my dosage of anesthesia and said he “doped me up like he would a kid so I won’t complain”. I laid there silently crying while he did my filling. That’s not the worst part! When doing this cavity, he told me I’d “eventually have to get a root canal for it”. 4 months later, said cavity started aching. I came back thinking I needed a root canal, he freeze sprayed my tooth and bc I “felt discomfort” I did in fact “need a root canal”. He gave me the quote, I tried calling my insurance to see what exactly would be covered but they were pressuring a time limit on me while standing in the office. When I came to the front desk, I tried asking about my insurance. The front desk girls were absolutely horrible people and treated me terribly. Not even offering to help me figure anything out with my insurance. They then told me that I had to pay my BOYFRIEND’S remaining balance on his account before they would even touch me. When I refused, because there is no way I am legally responsible for someone else’s dentist account, they refused to do my root canal unless I paid for the entire procedure right then and there in advance, in full, before ever sending anything to my insurance. I immediately left and sat in the parking lot looking for a different dentist. I found one that could see me an hour later. After a full scan, turns out “Dr.” Steven Mitchell did such a horrible job on a basic cavity, it caused my tooth to have an INFECTION which spread to the entire right side of my face. It even spread into a sinus infection. After my new honest dentist put me on a trial of steroids and antibiotics, I am completely infection free, and pain free. I was informed I NEVER needed a root canal. Steven Mitchell is the most horrible, unprofessional dentist I have ever experienced and I hope no one else ever has to endure such agony from a doctor you’re supposed to be able to trust with your health.

The front staff was friendly, and in constant communication before, during and after my visit. During the process, the doctor and assistant paused several times to make sure I was comfortable and feeling okay, it made me feel very relaxed and the process was quick, painless and extremely well done. Fantastic experience: New crown. Staff did an amazing job removing the bad tooth, creating temp crown and sending me home relatively pain free. New permanent crown came in with in a week. 30 min visit to replace and I am very happy with their work.

My first visit to this clinic required a crown replacement, they did a great job prepping me before my appointment and working with insurance to verify I was in network and provide an estimate. During my replacement procedure they did a great job communicating the potential for a root canal, making sure I knew costs, procedure time, and what to expect during the procedure. I’m usually terrified during these kinds of procedures but felt very comfortable and well taken care of. Thank you!!! 5+ stars

Fantastic experience: You know you’ve found the right dentist when a sweet dog greets you in the waiting room. Staff was helpful and courteous. Really enjoyed the cleaning. Sometimes teeth don’t feel totally clean but here they do. Appreciate the dental swag. Nice relaxed Summit County feel, not so slick and polished. If you can relate then go here. Just show up for your appointment or get charged. I like that too because I don’t want to pay extra for flakes messing up the practices revenue. Update: new hygienist is terrific, thanks Hoss!

Fantastic experience: Went in with a broken crown mount and recommendation to make an appointment to begin the implant procedure, these guys were able to save my tooth with a post and crown remount. Friendly, professional, very competent (my repair took some creative engineering) very impressed!

Fantastic experience: This was my first procedure with Summit Dental, my previous dentist was painful and bloody and less than satisfactory. The staff and the doctors were friendly and explained everything. The equipment was cutting edge and the procedure was as painless as I could imagine. So: uncomfortable and scary -> yes, of course,; bloody and painful -> not even.

My new hygienist was by far the best that I've ever had anyone clean my teeth. Negative experience: Went in to get seen for a possible extraction after a bad cavity got worse and was accused of being a meth user.. was treated awfully by the staff, very discouraging and made me very upset... the dentist i saw was very unprofessional and the accusations of being a drug user were absolutely wild and unprofessional
