Fantastic experience: Recently went in to western Dental in Vista CA. I needed extractions and a root canal done and was in a lot of pain. Mind you I have the worst anxiety and didn't have the best experience with a previous Dentist in the Oceanside area. Went in for a consultation and was greeted by Mariela and Jay . Very friendly and went over care with the Dentist. So I went back for my root canal . Let's start off by saying i got there early and a man was smoking his vape outside the building later to find out he was the receptionist (Eddie) threw me off just unprofessional . But got my root canal done ! loved Dentist Dr. Avinash and his assistant Francis , very reassuring, and professional. Made me feel comfortable and checked on me. During the entire process. Amazing team those two. Days later I still was in pain due to more work that I needed to be done. So I called because I couldn't take it anymore . Eddie answered and I told him that I was in pain and needed to be seen asap . He told me i didn't have no record of being there when i was just there. Then told me i owed $19 and couldn't book anything because i had a balance. After I paid all $1200 upfront . Day of my root cannel . So denied me . While I was in pain. I don't understand . Later talked to Mariela she scheduled me that day and was seen when the Dentist . And schedule me with the surgeon . If it wasn't for the rest of the staff being amazing I wouldn't go back . So if Eddie answers the just ask to talk to anyone else . .

Negative experience: I’d do 0 stars if i could, i have been here twice for a cleanup and both with appointments. Just to have to wait over an hour both times to even be sat down in a chair and then my first appointment that’s was just a cleaning…. Took an hour and my second appointment today l, i was told it’s too late and it’s too busy to do my cleaning…. My appointment was at 4 and they told me to leave at 5:22, they close at 6. This place sucks if you value time don’t come here

Negative experience: I am absolutely shocked that they have this many stars in their reviews because everytime I go there (yes, a I am a fool for going back) its been a disaster. They scheduled my kid at three different times during the day and when I called to see if someone could move the appointments together they told me they would. Well they did not, and made me feel like I was crazy and that the conversation never happened. So I suck it up we waited for a hour (which was the shortest wait time we've had with them) to be seen. After they told us that are insurance was not active. (Which it was). When the first child who is seven was seated they rudely told me that because of others patients HIPAA I could not stay with my son and had to wait in the waiting room. We left. Never had such awful experiences in my life.

Negative experience: I had the same experience as Cali. I waited over an hour for x-rays and then waited another 15 minutes before I walked out. Scheduled a cleaning for a new date and they did a periodontal cleaning in 10-15 minutes. Look it up; it should take one hour to one and a half hours. Obviously, I didn't get what I asked for; no cleaning gets done in less than 15 minutes. Now they have billed me $192.50 for the x-rays and cleaning even though it was all covered by my insurance. When my insurance gets on the phone with the office, they put the insurance on hold for an hour and then hang up. I have never seen a less competent outfit then this.

Negative experience: Went in yesterday at my appointment time 4:30, after waiting 40 minutes at 5:10 I was told they got behind and had to reschedule. They rescheduled me for today at 3. I get there at 3 and they take me back about 30 minutes later. After x rays the front desk lady comes back at 5 and tells me they don’t have enough medical assistants to do the cleaning today. So overall I spent 3 hours on my only days off work to sit around and wait at the dentist to not get my service. Can’t complain too much since it’s covered by insurance which I’m grateful for but still annoying to have my time wasted for nothing. Supposedly I’m getting my cleaning Monday but we will see..

Negative experience: Very unorganized staff, made an appointment earlier this week called this morning to confirm that I didn’t need anybody to drive me as I’m having oral surgery. They told me no then asked me for my birthdate then asked me for my name. How are they supposed to know what I’m getting done if they don’t have any of my information then took my information then told me I don’t have an appointment. I’ve read all the other comments out here about them being ill prepared and unprofessional and I have to say I agree I’m gonna find somewhere else to go because I am not comfortable if they don’t know what they’re doing. I would also like to add after reading several of these comments that I think they are fake because they call people by name a lot and a lot of comments when you look at reviews for most places, they don’t mention people by name. I’m convinced the staff here has their friends go on and leave nice reviews.

Fantastic experience: Today I went to this office of Western Dental & Orthodontics in Vista and I am very happy to say that in this office everyone from the front desk to the Dentist Miss Berry and Miss Jessica were extremely Professional and Pleasant!There was no pain when Dr.Berry gave me the shots for the anesthesy to extract 2 teeth!... simply!... she is Amazing! She is so careful and gentle doing her awesome work!!!.... finally I found a Marvelous Dentist!!!

Negative experience: We had an appointments last week . We showed up and the office was closed. No one notify us. We made another appointment for today8/16/ 2025 and the waiting time is more than one out in a very freezing room. The service was below expectations and they told us that the cleaning wasn’t covered.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with my experience at this dental office. I scheduled a cleaning but was only given X-rays and pressured into an orthodontic exam, despite already stating I was not interested. To make matters worse, I was then told there was no time for my cleaning. This felt like a bait-and-switch, prioritizing upsells over patient care. I would not recommend this practice.

Negative experience: Iffy scheduling and services. Even heard staff talk about how they didn't want to be there. Was told the prices they offered were the lowest, second place i go to lets me know they can do the procedure for about half to less than half of their “promotional deal”.

Negative experience: I was told I needed a gum treatment tray, which I paid for with my care credit card and was told that it could take several weeks to have them made. This was January 2024. I called back a month later since I hadn’t received them and they told me they weren’t there and would have the lab send a new order to them. A couple months later I called back and still no trays, mind you I’ve been paying them off on my care credit card. They told me they had been sent to the wrong location and they would order them AGAIN. Finally after calling again months later still without the trays I demanded a refund to my care credit card, this was October 2024, almost a year after I had decided to pay for this. The manager of the vista location told me she was issuing me a refund and that it could take several weeks to process. Still no refund to my care credit card as of February 2025. I contacted western dental customer service again today and they told me that the refund request was never sent in and that they would reissue another request. Absolute nightmare.

Fantastic experience: Hilda was a great hygienist, got me in and out of my cleaning in 30 minutes and gave me some good tips to take home.

Went three times and did not get treatment at all because they had an excuse everytime I went that I needed another form to fill out. Please do not go to this place. Fantastic experience: I usually don't write in reviews or feel the need to ever shine a light on anyone in particular but this is one of those rare moments where I feel the need to speak up about one of your employees. I had gone in to your office in Vista, CA for an exam and immediately informing the assistant who was getting ready to take my xrays that I have a very sensitive gag reflex. No other dental office that I have visited ever help me the way Ramiro Arellano did. This was the first time taking xrays without gaging. I was very surprised how well and professional he was and definitely known what he was doing. Very happy with my visit.

Negative experience: Terrible. they messed up our appointment. They said that our appointment was at 9:30 when we got all communication and it was 1130. My son has braces and because he has a wire they would not see him or give him x-rays. We’ve never heard of this was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unapologetic. My other son had an appointment at 9:30, he waited for one hour and then they told him that in 45 minutes, he would be getting his teeth cleaned so we rescheduled his appointment Because that would’ve put him at almost 2 hours the office staff was absolutely Argumentative. We never received a phone call from them. They told me that they did. I looked at all of my missed calls from the week and I never had it. When I showed them, they still had no apologies. Do not go to this dentist. Very socialist; they seem like they care only about you as a member and not as a person.

Fantastic experience: Amazing and simple process getting seen and educated. My hygienist, Hilda was absolutely amazing and did a really good job on informing me on how to better understand my oral health.

Negative experience: Was able to get an appointment because I was having excruciating tooth pain and dentist was going to prescribe antibiotic and pain medicine before walking out I even asked the girls there if the prescription was sent to pharmacy they said oh yes it will be sent to pharmacy I call the pharmacy twice and no prescription was sent spent the night with pain this morning still no medication still in pain !

Negative experience: I went in for a regular 6 month cleaning today, and declined X-rays as I’d just had the full gamet done in April with the dentist stating my teeth were perfect, no issues and I didn’t even require a deep cleaning back then. After sitting for 53 minutes in the dental chair, I was moved to a different room for a cleaning only and let them know I had to leave in 23 minutes to pick up my daughter. They stated they couldn’t guarantee they would be done so they wouldn’t start. Horrible waste of time, unprofessional service.

Fantastic experience: Came into the office today and was able to get help with my ortho screening, Dr Nguyen was able to explain everything in detail, Elizabeth bon was able to help assist and explain how to take care of my braces and Jackie was able to help me find the correct payment plan option that worked with my finances.

Negative experience: Most frustrating experience I’ve ever had with a dentist - all I needed was a cleaning, I was somehow scheduled for a braces consult but luckily they caught it when they called to confirm. I got to the office and they again asked if I was there for a braces consult - no, just a cleaning. I filled out all the paperwork and they told me they didn’t have a doctor in office that day who accepted my insurance, and that the scheduler had noted the wrong insurance for me and that I would have to reschedule. Front desk just said it was the corporate offices’ fault and was very dismissive. Don’t waste your time!

Negative experience: I had a 10.30 am appointment and ended up walking out at 1.00 pm before having any services done. It took almost 30 minutes to be taken into the back, another 30 minutes to begin x-rays and another 30 minutes for anyone to follow up with me. I sat there waiting till one of the ladies apologized and told me the Doctor would be going on lunch and I could either reschedule my cleaning or stay till they came back from lunch. I decided to wait but by 1.00 pm, I decided it wasn't worth it. I was disappointed in the services I didn't receive, their poor time management, and lack of consideration for my time. I would not recommend this location.

Negative experience: My brother and I had worse experience with this dentist !!! Ladies at the front desk don’t even know what they’re doing , they would schedule my brother when the dentist wasn’t even in the office , they made everything so difficult for us , telling us my mother had to be present in order for my brother to get his braces removed since he wasn’t 18 , we waiting couple months for him to turn 18 and they still wouldn’t see him , they told my mom that the reason why they were removing the braces was because my brother had “ white spots all over his gums “ something they never mentioned to my brother or to my mom on our last visit ! Really bad costumer service !!always giving my mom excuses and wrong times and it’s always just so frustrating to get a hold of them or even to schedule an appointment!!!

Negative experience: I COMPETENT AND GREEDY! Two of my fillings literally fell out because they were done incorrectly. One of them even still had the cavity underneath. This was because in both cases they were rushing to get me done quickly so they could do other things, instead of paying attention to the paying customer.

Negative experience: Horrible. If I could leave a zero review I would. I have psoriatic arthritis and periodontal disease and severe bone loss. I did brace for 1 year. My ortho was amazing dr Campeo and she reassured me if she saw anything weird she would pull my braces off in order to keep my teeth as healthy as possible. My molar started getting loose at the tail end of my treatment so we decided it was time for them to come off. My impression was taken on April 24th, they lost my impression and never informed me. I came in to repair a loose temporary crown and decided to ask about my retainers, apparently they lost them and no one notified me. It had now been 3 weeks since the impression had been done and I was supposed to get my braces removed the following week to prevent my molar from moving more or getting worse. Well to my surprise no one let me know. So here I am thinking my retainers would be in by then, nope. Wrong. Now braces have been removed just like dr campeo had advised (she is no longer working there now) and I do not have my retainers and my bottom teeth are loose and have shifted. They have taken no responsibility for their incompetence. The supervisor Betsy is completely unprofessional and lied to me several times telling me she'd call me back and never did and then telling me she called the lab but she didn't because the coordinator Jackie was not there in office. Lies upon lies upon lies and malpractice. Who knows when my retainers will arrive. But this is complete unacceptable and negligence all around. Please be careful who you trust with your dental health. I have 3 autoimmune diseases and any infections could potentially kill me and obviously losing my teeth means nothing to them. Take your business elsewhere. They also book your apps and will cancel then without notifying you. I will be reporting all of them to the state dental board.

Fantastic experience: Hilda did my deep cleaning. She was awesome, very kind, helped me feel way less anxiety than I initially had coming in and she did a great job. She will be the one I ask to be scheduled with from here on out. Thanks Hilda for being so understanding of my anxiety, helpful and really good at what u do!

Negative experience: Stay away from this bad doctor! I had an appointment with them the first time 7 months ago for normal cleaning and and after a long wait of ~1.5 hours the doctor told me I had to remove a tooth and do an implant, which they gave me a $3500 estimate for, I was so scared (while I had no issue with that tooth) so I checked with some other dentists and they fixed my original tooth for $80! I am guessing the dentist at western dental makes good chunk of money with implants and that's why he wanted my healthy tooth to be removed and not filled! This is the definition of bad doctors that everyone should stay away from, the type who tries to maximize his wealth no matter what! The second interaction I had with this dentist was today, I made an appointment for cleaning and was told today that they haven't had my insurance (even-though I was there 7 months ago) and needed to re-do it and they had called me earlier today to get my insurance info but they were not able to connect with me! Turns out they never called me! No missed calls, no voice mails. First they told me they had wrong number, then they told me they did not have my appointment confirmed, although I called them yesterday and made sure my appointment is in place (having read the other reviews here!), but no, they managed to escape their job again. Pretty shady and the type of lazy employees that I never seen anywhere else.

Negative experience: It’s horrible. Came in 5-6 months ago with horrible toothache and was told that I needed dentures and that he did not advice me to just get the one tooth taken care of that it would be a waste of his time and my money. He send me home with an ibuprofen prescription and a paper showing me that it would cost me $15,000 to get my dentures. I don’t have that kind of money. Then I came in today for the same reason and was told they do not do extractions. I told the person on the phone what I needed when making the appointment. Came in at my appointment time to be told what I previously wrote and that they don’t see patients at this time anyways because it’s their lunch time. Horrible experience.

Fantastic experience: I had a horrible pain during the night on my jawbone and a back molar, the pain was just very intense I was crying. I called the Western dental office in vista and Betsy fit me in to see the dentist. The dentist gave me a shot to numb me so I wouldn’t be in excruciating pain and Then the dentist check my x-rays and examine my tooth with care. They were very Gentle and compassionate towards my pain. I appreciate that very much.

Negative experience: I'm not one to leave reviews normally, but I am extremely frustrated with this place. I've tried to make an appointment here twice, and had issues both times. The first time, I made an appointment for 12:30pm (during lunch) on their website and received a confirmation email and everything. I showed up and they told me they actually couldn't take me since they close for lunch at 1 and couldn't fit me in by then. I never received an email or call or anything alerting me to this conflict, but I tried making another appointment online to reschedule. I showed up today and was told "we are extremely busy so there's going to be a long wait so I have no idea how long it'll be exactly." I mentioned I had meetings in the afternoon for work and confirmed she couldn't even give me any sort of estimate. Again, I asked why they couldn't contact me beforehand to let me know they were running behind and she had no good answer. Super disappointed with their customer service. I've given up and will find a new dentist.

Negative experience: Very unorganized and don't have a clue what they're doing here. I booked my appointment with a periodontist, they canceled on me. Rescheduled me for a normal visit when the periodontist was not working, knowing that my referral is for a periodontist. They didn't even apologize or attempt to make it right by rescheduling me. I wouldn't definitely NOT recommend this institution if you want quality dental work done.

Negative experience: EDIT: Over a month and a half after contacting Western Dental's corporate offices and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I have only received false promises of a refund without receiving a penny. Original review: Around 5/18/2022 I had my wisdom teeth removed and a tooth extracted. In addition, I had planned to get a prosthetic implant to replace the extracted tooth. This process was set to be fairly lengthy (several months to a year) and I paid for all services completed and those that were to come in the form of two payments, one on 5/11/2022 and one on 6/10/2022. Because I had a bad experience with my procedure, I decided I would not complete the procedure which included thousands of dollars of work that was paid for, but that I had decided not to proceed with. I reached out to the local office asking for a refund and was promised a call in the coming weeks, this did not happen. After calling a plethora of phone numbers multiple times and emailing Western Dental Corporate in the past year, I have not been contacted. Additionally, I waited for over an hour during multiple visits where I had scheduled an appointment. It's no surprise that the waiting room had multiple people complaining about billing issues on every visit to the office. I will note that the only positive experience here was with Hilda, who was very helpful and kind. I am owed at least $1,500 for an abutment and a porcelain tooth that was never fabricated or installed. It has been a nightmare trying to get in any contact with any representative.

The Dr was also nice and so was the front desk. I'm not sure who the other girl was but she was also very nice, she was small and skinny.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is very nice and respectful. The waiting time is a bit long, so sometimes it defeats the purpose of scheduling a specific time. Yet, you can understand why the wait once you are called to the back. Most of the time they are busy and the work is never rushed, therefore you get quality work. I really recommend this location. I was very scared and embarrassed going to the dentist at first due to past experiences, but everyone is very professional.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience at this location!! I came in for an emergency appointment due to my chipped front tooth. All the staff was incredibly helpful and superb customer service. Dr. Avinash did an amazing job kudos to Leslie for assisting me with the insurance/payment. Jackie was also very helpful with setting up my ortho!! Last but not least, the front desk representative Lilia was very welcoming when I walked in to sign in. I am extremely thankful and grateful for this team. Please stop by this location as they are the BEST and I drove all the way from Poway to visit due to the Poway office being extremely rude and horrible staff. This proofs the difference and Vista location will go above and beyond for their patients.

Positive experience: They rejected doing a cleaning telling me I didn’t need it, then they said if I wanted one I needed to do another appointment. They tried forcing me to get some other stuff done when I didn’t want to because of not having the money for it. I felt like I was being forced to get them done even though they Knew I couldn’t pay for it and my insurance wouldn’t cover it. So no I never returned, I got my cleaning done at another place since they didn’t want to do it.

Fantastic experience: I came here for my first visit for a cleaning and braces. I must say all staff from front desk to back office staff were so nice and welcoming! Especially my hygienist Hilda C, she was so sweet and made me feel so comfortable and relaxed during my cleaning! I would definitely recommend this office to anyone that is in need of dental work.

Fantastic experience: I just finished up my first teeth cleaning appointment with Hilda C. Honestly even though the process itself was a bit painful and stressful, she did an excellent job in making sure I was comfortable and repeatedly checked in with me during the process to make sure I was okay. Not only did she thoroughly answer my post-appointment questions, but she even took the time to write down her suggestions of brands for electric toothbrushes (Oral-B and Sonicare by the way!) and criteria to look out for while shopping for them which was totally above and beyond the scope of the appointment. She was an absolute sweetheart and made me feel at ease even after what was naturally an uncomfortable procedure.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Timely and professional. Hilda specifically was extremely helpful. I received a deep cleaning. She explained exactly what was happening and consistently checked on how comfortable I was. She gave me great information about the best toothbrush options and flossing techniques. Thanks, Hilda!

Negative experience: Went there a month ago for the teeth cleaning. I go every 4-6 months. I had to change my previous clinic due to insurance changes. The doctor told me I have to do deep cleaning. Next day I went to my previous clinic they check my teeth and told my there is no reason to do deep cleaning. I had to pay to do it in the other clinic. That’s not the biggest problem with western dental. After my teeth cleaning I came to do another check up and the doctor told they will send a request to my insurance to get approved or denied to fix my teeth issues. The lady at the front desk told me it will take 3-6 weeks. Two weeks later I called my insurance to find out the results of my request. The lady on the phone from the insurance told me that they don’t have any request!!!!!!! Thank you western dental for waisting my time! I kind have an emergency situation with my teeth… I tried to call office to speak with the supervisor but they told me that she is busy and she will give me a call until the end of the day. How you see no one called me. And they keep changing my husband appointments. He made an appointment on the spot in the office few days before his appointment they called to confirm it wrong date and time. My husband told them since he made his appointment on particular day and time he would like to keep it. He went there and waited for 2 hours to be seeing. And it’s been twice already. Very poor service. Please work with your front office employees cause they are doing horrible job!

Negative experience: DONT go here. If I could leave zero stars I would. After 4 HOURS of exams and waiting. In pain from a broken tooth the entire time. Just before the extraction they ask me about grafts and implants. I told them I couldn't afford it. After 15 minutes of them explaining why i needed it. I tell them in raising 3 kids on my own. And their teeth come first. Ones in braces and another needs them. I can't afford it. They LITERALLY stand behind me out of sight but but outta ear shot. Talking about the dentist no longer wanting to do the extraction. Their final reason. The doctor doesn't have time to pull the tooth. But he has time if I want the graft They're predators.

Fantastic experience: Everybody was super attentive, I and my kids were there it was a nice experience. Ms. Hilda was super patient with my son and we forget to her the name of the other lady in the back but she was super nice to my son too he was nervous and she give him the piece of mind that everything was gonna be okay. Thank you ladies!

Fantastic experience: I recently went in for check up here and mind you it had been a while since the last time I even stepped foot in a dentist office. All of the staff were extremely kind and welcoming they explained everything from the start to end to make me feel the most comfortable. The hygienist Hilda was also very nice. I let her know from the start I was very nervous and she was super sweet and understanding. I went in not knowing to schedule some things ahead of time and Hilda still squeezed me into her busy day to do a cleaning for me. I 100% recommend anyone going here especially if you’re nervous about going to a dentist office everyone was kind, understanding, and very reassuring!

Fantastic experience: Let me start off by saying I hate the dentist. But I had to get a tooth extracted & a bone graft today. The doctor and team that worked today 2/17 in the Vista location is amazing. All the staff are attentive, and nice. They answered all my questions & worked with me on a payment plan.

Fantastic experience: Hilda c did my cleaning today . Always have a great, smooth experience here. The staff are friendly, respectful, caring and courteous of your time. The office is run very smoothly and efficiently. Definitely recommend.
