Dentist visits are very stressful for our family as my 9 year old son has a lot of anxiety surrounding the dentist and a strong oral aversion. Anita’s patience, kindness, and calm demeanor was quite amazing. With her help, my son was able to overcome some big fears and have the best dentist appointment he has had yet. He asked me if we could come back to this dentist as we were leaving. We are very grateful for the experience we had. And for Anita! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to Pediatric dentistry of sunset hills since my son was 6 months old. Everyone is super friendly and helpful when answering questions. My son has had about 4 visits just for 6 months check ups, and he absolutely loves going to the dentist. They make it so much fun for the toddlers and big kids too. My son got a report card, a token for the toy machine, and several stickers. He was even able to watch Bluey during his exam! Maddie and Dr. Matt are amazing!!!! We can't wait to take our daughter here too!

Fantastic experience: Had an excellent first visit with DrMark and Brandi. They made my 3 year old son and I feel welcomed with a tour and took great care of him from start to finish with his cleaning, exam, X-rays, and even some treatment on a little cavity. My son was a little nervous but they quickly made him feel at ease and he was smiling and proud of himself once he was done. Their team is professional, knowledgeable, gentle, and friendly! DrMark went into detail after his exam and made sure I understood what options we had for my son’s care. I would highly recommend this office to all my friends and family with little ones! Negative experience: Absolutely terrible receptionist she say aww poor thing wen we explained she was embarrassed but she couldn’t even reassure my daughter over the phone that her staff wouldn’t make her feel uncomfortable I may give this office a chance if there’s a manger to talk to in the morning on a Saturday if it goes well tomorrow I’ll write a review for service but as it stands my daughter is uncomfortable coming here

Negative experience: not all that friendly of staff, seems to have gone way down hill. now very welcoming. a younger gentleman at the front reception desk actually seemed to have given me a "whatever" wave during conversation. didn't seem to really care for the concern we were having, so i am taking the child elsewhere. just not an upbeat happy place anymore, we have been going for 5 years. so we are switching.

Fantastic experience: We always have a great experience here! My son has been going for years and my daughter just had her first cleaning today with Madelyn. She had so much fun and didn't want to leave! The staff here is really special and great with kids. Everyone is really friendly.

Fantastic experience: After dealing with multiple bad dentist experiences with myself as well as my child this place was like a breath of fresh air. Dr. Matt is so great at giving you all the information you need as well as being so incredibly patient and kind with the kids. Just recently my son had a dental emergency and I was able to get in and get him seen quickly and Dr. Matt took it upon himself to go above and beyond to ensure my son was taken care of and got the treatment he was in need of. The office staff are always on top of things and were sure to communicate with me and one of the girls, I believe her name was Meghan, even took the time to ensure me that my apologies for my panic and emotions were not necessary. It’s not often that you find people that you feel you can truly trust with your children and I cannot recommend this office enough. Thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: My son at age 5 soared through his whole dentist visit yesterday making me an even more proud mom! THANK GOD!!! This is saying a lot because he came a long way from not wanting his teeth to be checked at all on his 1st dentist visit 6 months ago. To now sitting down on his own and allowing his teeth to be cared for from beginning to end. I know the constant care humor patience fun environment with toys at the end and the kindness of the same dentist assistants with Dr. Waite, helped tremendously! Fantastic experience: First visit with my toddler and it went really well! Everyone was so kind and patient and informative. He loves his new toy!

Negative experience: Let me just say originally I was very pleased with this office because when I initially called it was very pleasant and they got my daughter right in for her emergency dental needs. Where it takes a VERY ODD TURN: I initially informed the representative that we were on public transportation so please be understanding and the lady who set us up acknowledged. When we got there it was not about my daughter tooth pain they instantly started cleaning her teeth without X RAYS or anything (INSURANCE FRAUD AT ITS FINEST). After she finished her cleaning they did here X-rays which took some time and I spoke with the Matt Waite about my daughter treatment plan. He told us that he couldn’t help what we initially came in for, which is odd because that’s the whole reason for us coming… NOT A CLEANING but of course he had to get paid some way right!? So he goes on to tell us that she has to see an Oral Surgeon and gave us a referral to someone who DOES NOT TAKE OUR INSURANCE (I found this out when I called the provider). We were told that it was going to be about $3-4K for extraction when Matt knew what kind of insurance we had and I’m sure he knew we were not going to be able to afford that. When I called the office to advise them that the Oral Surgeon does not accept the insurance and is there another provider that they have referral for to send her to that does accept and I was provided with a bunch of why they don’t deep dive into providers they refer out. As a parent with a child who is having pain with a crack tooth where the nerve is exposed I was a little flustered. I recommended that before they refer anyone out it would be better that they do their research prior because that does not help the patient in the long run. We are a MELANATED Family by the way FYI…. Because I expressed my legitimate opinion they switched it around and said because of ONE person that could NOT provide in reasoning to this madness felt a way about my opinion, they discontinued care with my daughter. I have never been to this office and it was our first visit and looks like it was already in place to be our last. I’m so sick of the inequality and judgement within society when it comes to certain individuals. The impact extends beyond the immediate harm- it creates long lasting divisions and cycles of injustice. As a melanated mother with melanated children we should not be overlooked and experience barriers to equal care no matter what insurance we have. This office just showed me everything that looks good is NOT! Just take a look at everyone that has attended the office…. With that being said, this is just the beginning not the end. I will not tolerate this type of behavior because someone who feels privileged decides if my children gets care or not because of their own personal vengeance

Fantastic experience: My daughter was so nervous for her first dentist appointment, but they made it so fun for her! They eased her anxiety and kept her calm. The hygienist was very comforting, caring, and empathetic to my daughter’s feelings and the doctor was just as fabulous. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is!

Fantastic experience: My two nervous kiddos made it through their first appointment here with no problem. Everyone was soft spoken and explained each process before starting. Calm and relaxed atmosphere. This is our third dentist we’ve tried in Jefferson County and they are by far better than the others.

Fantastic experience: I’m so glad I found this dental practice. After plenty of bad experiences, Dr. Joe and his team showed my son that the dentist doesn’t have to be scary. They fixed my son’s problem tooth on our first visit and I’m so relieved he’s no longer in pain. At first he was scared but after the procedure he said “That was kind of fun!” The team even gave him a birthday balloon. It’s clear they all care very much about taking care of children.

Fantastic experience: Amazing atmosphere as soon as we walked in. We walked out feeling super happy. Everyone has smiles on their faces, every one of them. Dr. Matt is the BEST. They gave us a walk through the back, as well they have TV for the kids to watch and play room so dentist can have a conversation with the parent(s) without the kids clinging to you. Went over what is going on with my children's mouths showing me his notes as well as showing it to me on the x-ray so i can see it myself. I cant ask for a better dentistry.

The good vibes from Dr. Matt and Brittany turned a potential scary experience for my child into a very positive one. Best of all he got to watch Bluey while his procedure was done and left with prizes and a balloon!

Fantastic experience: Couldn't recommend them enough! Both offices are great! One of my kiddos gets very anxious when it comes to the dentist and ended up needing general anesthesia. Dr. Nancy was extremely caring when going over the treatment plan and Lee made the whole process super smooth and answered any concerns or questions I had. Other staff at the Arnold location were so good with my kiddo the day off her appt and once again made the whole process super smooth!

Fantastic experience: This is by far the BEST pediatric dentist I’ve taken my kids to! They are all so kind and helpful but most importantly, my daughter is COMFORTABLE going to them! They treat her with so much kindness and respect. They walk her through what they’re going to do to help her nerves and just all around are great at working with kids! I’m so happy I found them!

Fantastic experience: Best Pediatric Dentist Office in St. Louis! Hygienist Melissa E. was phenomenal, fun, outgoing, and an all around joy! Dr. Joe was excellent, took time to provide a thorough evaluation on my son and sent him on his way with a crisp high five and clean bill of dental health. Fantastic experience: Cannot say nicer things about this office, practice, and Dr. Matt Waite. The office is extremely clean, very kid-friendly, and every office staff member was polite, kind, and genuine. The colorful waiting room has movies and interactive toys for kids, and there’s an impressive fish tank in the lobby. As a first time patient for my daughter—myself and my wife were given a tour of the facility. The x-ray rooms and dental procedural areas are decorated with Disney themed/kids movies (finding Nemo, pirates, etc). There was even a clown doing balloon animals for the kids after their procedure/cleaning. Dr. Wait and his dentist partners appear very talented; they meet with the parents after the procedures/cleanings and explain everything in great detail. Looking forward to coming back for years with our daughter.

Negative experience: Used to be a fabulous office until they changed key business staff now it's a mess. Warning-for many insurances they now make you pay out of pocket amd get reimbursed. Ive gone there for 14 years for my 3 children. Spent THOUSANDS of dollars over the years. I missed ONE $200 invoice (holidays were hectic) and told them I would pay it as soon as i got my next paycheck, they said that would be ok but then still sent me to collections and completely cancelled/deleted my family's entire account. My oldest child is autistic, this is going to cause a lot of stress to move him to a new dentist but they didnt give me any choice or warning. They have lost that personal care element-kids arent just invoices.

Fantastic experience: Always running on time and very thorough every visit. Make sure to get your appointments booked timely as they fill up and it could be a few months before you can get your cleanings scheduled. Been seeing Dr Brown now for 16 years!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Waite is a wonderful addition to this practice, I couldn’t be happier with the care he’s given my children. Gabby, Jensen, and Cass all gave their own rave reviews saying that he has been so patient and friendly every step of the way. He made my high anxiety kids feel calm and comfortable and that means the world to me. I’m also impressed with the approach he takes with treatment plans to ensure the very best care in each unique situation. His team is EXCELLENT and my kids look forward to seeing them all (as do I!) I spent my childhood in a dental office watching my Dad with his patients and it’s hard not to use that as a litmus test for deciding if I agree or disagree with the dental care my children receive. But this practice goes above and beyond in so many ways, and I trust their expertise and genuinely appreciate the care my family receives at every visit! They are amazing and talented human beings who care for each child they see, and it shows. I could not recommend them more!

Fantastic experience: My daughter had her first appointment today, which was an emergency visit. From scheduling the appointment to going over the treatment plan, checkin and checkout, every single person I encountered was so friendly, kind and empathic to our situation. The waiting room is lovely and kid friendly. I was apprehensive that they take the kiddos back without the parents but I think it's so we aren't a distraction. From check in to checkout was so fast, especially considering our needs today. I cannotthank every staff member enough!

Fantastic experience: We have seen Dr.Mark for a long time, I was a patient and now bringing my kids here for many years. Dr. Mark is so awesome. Our family loves this dentist office. We had our first visit with Dr. Matt and he was absolutely incredible with my son, him taking time to call and check on him later in the day really speaks volumes on his patient care. Also I want to give a huge shout out to Maddy! She really goes above and beyond supporting her patients, she is really attentive and helpful. Fantastic experience: The staff and Dr. Waite saved us today. We needed an emergent appointment for my 6-year-old, and they were willing to see us even though we weren’t yet established patients. The entire experience, starting with the initial phone call, was the most empathic medical treatment we’ve ever received. Much of this was difficult for my child, but they were extremely patient, kind, and took the time she needed to feel comfortable. Dr. Waite then called me personally to check on her. This is THE PLACE for pediatric dentistry. They know what is developmentally appropriate and understand children’s needs. I’m so grateful we have a new amazing dental team.

Fantastic experience: I have to give praise where praise is due. My wife took our soon to be 2 year old (pictures below) to Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills for her 1st check up of her baby teeth. My wife was greeted by very generous and caring staff, accommodated our daughter with a TV, and she was able to watch her favorite show; Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. In the meantime my wife was filling out normal routine and standard practice paperwork. She was extremely relieved and taken back by how amazing and smoothly everything went. Becky Ann Jones, who went to High School with, greeted my wife and took our daughter back to get her teeth checked. At this time, my wife immediately knew that she was treated with respect, courtesy, and ease. She later called me to tell me that she fell in love with this establishment. Special kudos to Becky for taking care of our daughter, my wife ran into an old friend (Miss Jen) and on the midst of all that was happening, we couldn’t have been more pleased with the entire staff, and the kind and passionate hospitality this establishment provided. You all are super friendly, kind, generous, and most important caring. Always looking out for the best interest of the patient, and all parties involved. You all have gained a customer for life. Fantastic experience: My 5 year old was scheduled with a different pediatric dental office for sedation dental work. She started experiencing extreme pain (not eating or sleeping, she even missed her first day of Kindergarten) but the office was still adamant she had to wait 3 more weeks to get it done. I called Sunset Hills on the morning and they had her in 2 hours later. They were able to do what they needed with just nitrous oxide! Valerie was AMAZING and was so patient with me, took the time to explain everything and even called me when my daughter was done to give me an update (I was at work, my husband was with her). Dr. Matt was amazing per my husband and we are just now planning on going here for dental care!

Fantastic experience: We had the most amazing experience here with our 3-year-old. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun! She especially loved watching Toy Story during her appointment. The staff and Dr. Matt were patient, kind, and very informative. So glad we chose to go here!

Negative experience: My family typically has a good experience with this location. However, when my husband takes our children to the office, he is questioned repeatedly on his relationship to our children (blended family) he was made to wait nearly 45 mins after the appointment time before our children were seen. We will no longer use this location as it has been a unfortunate experience for my family. The workers make comments regarding the biological relationship of our children and make clear distinctions between the siblings. This is unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: We absolutely love this office! Dr. Matt and all of the assistants and receptionists were so caring, detailed, and made sure that we understood exactly what they were doing and what the treatment plans re. We are so impressed with their amazing customer service! We would highly recommend this office! Our girls love going to the dentist, but this office makes them love it Even more!

Fantastic experience: Although my sons not a huge fan of being messed with by doctors or dentists, this office is wonderful. All of the staff are super patient. The dentist is very informative and works well with my son (who cried and wriggled the whole time) and Lisa who helped check me out today is amazing. I’ve been having some issues figuring out my son’s insurance and she has been so extremely helpful. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience: My boys have recently started coming here, and we have had nothing but positive experiences even though they both needed some extensive work done. My 6 year old son had his first procedure done today, and I was as nervous as he was! Kim, at the front desk, checked on him for me and reassured me all was well, and even brought him a sea turtle stuffie to cuddle and bring home. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak more highly of this office! My 4 year old had a dental emergency and they squeezed us in the next day - a Saturday at that - as new patients. From the receptionists to the hygienists to Dr. Joe, we absolutely could not have been more pleased. The care was exceptional and they took the time to form a relationship and help my son feel at ease throughout the entire visit. We drove 2 hours for this appointment and it was 110% worth it. I also was highly impressed by the cost of services - we had a plan from another dentist that was going to cost us several thousand dollars and would take over a month to accomplish… Dr. Joe recognized my little guy was in pain and fixed his issues on the spot for a fraction of the cost. I could not be more thankful, I’d recommend them a hundred times over!

Fantastic experience: I took my 4 boys to Dr. Shen. She is so nice and friendly. My 4 year old had to have a cavity filled. When he was finished he was so happy with his prizes you have thought he had been at a birthday party instead of a dental appointment. Everything one that works in the Arnold office is excellent!

Fantastic experience: I have worked in the general dentistry field for 20 years. We refer often to pediatric dental offices but I have never personally been to one. Yesterday my daughter and I took my 4 year old grandson for the 1st time after my office referred him to them. All I can say is that they are amazing, Dr. and staff. He absolutely enjoyed his visit and so did we! So positive so much energy and you can tell immediately they have a special gift with children! So relieved to have such a wonderful place to take my grandson ❤️

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been coming here for 13 years and my 4 yr old son has been coming here for 2 years now. They both are so independent and good about sitting in the chair and getting their cleaning and x-rays. They've each had one cavity filled and it wasn't traumatic at all. I wouldn't dream of taking them anywhere else. So thankful for a referral to this office so many years ago!

Negative experience: My 2 children have been patients of the office for 13 years. We went for our scheduled appointment and we were told because my husband's employer changed insurance providers we would have to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement later or reschedule. Keep in mind we had a different insurance last year and this was never an issue. I did not want to pay $600 so I was told we had to reschedule and couldn't get in for 2 months! Again, we have had insurance through my husband's job for the last 13 years, but I was told they had to verify our insurance was valid. I left the office and later contacted the office manager and was told of this policy. I find it odd we had changed insurance last year and this was NOT an issue and again, we have been patients for THIRTEEN years, I have NEVER been treated so poorly. I took off work and my daughter took the afternoon off work for the appointment. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. Will be finding a new dentist, this is a shame they treat long standing patients in this manner.

Fantastic experience: Today was our first visit to Pediatric Dentistry and we saw Dr Nancy. Even though she is considered an out-of-network provider with my insurance I will gladly pay a bit more to continue care with this group! I couldn’t have asked for a better, more caring staff from the front desk all the way through check out. Absolutely thrilled to have found this place as our family is a bit timid when it comes to the dentist! Just wish they saw adults too lol

From the moment we walk in to the moment we leave they are courteous, kind, and always have a smile on their faces. My two boys (5) and (3) enjoy going to the dentist and actually look forward to it! Fantastic experience: Had to bring my two year old in to be seen following a traumatic injury to her teeth. The staff was very nice and patient and kind. The Office is perfectly decorated for children to ease their anxiety. My daughter found herself naming all of the sea creatures she could find painted on the walls. They also provide tvs and Netflix for children to help ease their worries. Overall outstanding and could not have expected such a wonderful experience after such a traumatic injury. They knew just how to ease her fear.

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough about Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills. Our daughter has been going there for over 14 years and they are awesome! It says a lot when your child is excited to go to her dentist appointment. Dr. Brown and her staff of hygienist are wonderful. I would personally like to give a big “KUDOS” and “THANK YOU” to Valerie and Ashley! Every time I have called and had a question they both have been so nice and willing to take the time to listen and help. They are both so pleasant and helpful over the phone. It is so nice and refreshing to know that they both really care and try to help accommodate any scheduling or rescheduling obstacles that we might have and it is just nice to speak to someone nice on the phone, it’s hard to find that these days. So thank you Valerie and Ashley for being so wonderful!!!

From calling to schedule an appointment to the on- person visit, they are well- trained and truly want your child to have the best experience possible. Fantastic experience: Had my son's first dentist appointment today, everyone at the office was so welcoming and sweet! The place is very kid friendly and all the staff are very patient and understanding for all of their patients and the patient's parents. Appreciated all the smiles, decorations to see, and just all of it! We will be staying at this office for future visits to come. Fantastic experience: We have so loved Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills. My kids have no hesitation in going to the dentist, and I know it is because of this office. I have confidence in the quality of care, and that they give thoughtful consideration as to whether and what work needs to be done. Everyone in is super upbeat, friendly, and caring. Everything is kid friendly from the walls and colors of the interior to the instruments and products used to the staff. Truly a unique valued experience and service.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had severe anxiety going to a dentist almost to the point of needing sedation thanks to a bad experience with the previous dentist. Dr. Joe and his staff quickly turned that around after just the first visit! Now she looks forward to coming in and loves to watch the fish. Office runs efficiently and never a long wait is a bonus! Fantastic experience: Receptionist Lee was very polite and very helpful. There was barley any wait time. The staff explained everything to a T, is super nice and comforting. Keeps us updated while child is in the back getting dental work done. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I take my middle son here. He has Down Syndrome and this place came recommended by another mom. Dr. Fernandez and his team are amazing. My son is comfortable and I no longer worry about him going to the dentist. He has even had teeth pulled without any complaint! They certainly know what they are doing!

Fantastic experience: Took my son here for his first Dentist visit. The receptionist were all polite and my son’s dental hygienist was very sweet. His dentist was nice and seemed very knowledgeable on my sons dental health. Overall, seemed like a great place. Loved how they had the office decorated and it’s safe to say we are excited to come back!

Fantastic experience: Best Pediatric Dentists Ever! After taking my then toddler son to several terrible pediatric dentists in the greater St. Louis Area, finally Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hill was recommended to me. That was 7-8 years ago, we’ve never regretted it since. Going to the dentist is an enjoyable experience for my son and with zero cavities, so far, I have no complains either.

Fantastic experience: My Son had his first visit at 3 years old. I have a fear of dentists so I was nervous coming in. The office is absolutely beautiful. We were immediately greeted by Lisa who was decorating the offices Christmas tree, I think she could sense my uneasiness and she reassured me by explaining the first visit process and what to expect. She gave me a thorough tour and let me peak in on my son as he was getting examined. Thank you Lisa for being so kind and professional. I highly recommend this dentist office, their personal touch is unmatched!

Fantastic experience: We have loved our experience at Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills! We switched to this practice over 7 years ago after a not-so-great experience at another pediatric dentist. My kids actually LOVE going to the dentist and look forward to it with excitement. As a parent, anytime I have needed a school form completed or a copy of a receipt, I can send a quick email and they respond within MINUTES. Outstanding customer service and tremendous patient care.

Fantastic experience: I took my 1 year old here to have a broken tooth checked/fixed and they did a wonderful job!!! I've been there 3 times now (once for the exam of the broken tooth, a second time to have the poor little baby tooth pulled, and a third to have a regular check up). They're very friendly, reasonable, time efficient, and even fun for the kids! They're definitely mindful of the fear children have of doctors and dentists so they always go above and beyond to make them feel comfortable. My daughter has yet to leave there sad or empty-handed, whether it's a toothbrush or toy, she always has a gift to walk out with (which she loves!).

Fantastic experience: My son had his first dentist appointment today and they couldn't have been any nicer and more accommodating. He's 2.5 so while I gave information and talked about his health his he played with the toys they provided. Then since his is still young, the doctor did a quick look and brushed his teeth. We are excited for they years to come with this team!

Fantastic experience: Great office! Their whole set up was geared for kids. They had it decorated nicely and with an aquarium. The staff was very nice. We did wait 30 mins before they called us. My little one loved the dentist and kept saying how he likes it there much better than our old one. They have a game room in the back where the kids can play while the dentist talks to the parents. Dr. Hintze was super nice and explained everything that was happening to me and made sure we're on the same page. Check out was smooth. Friendly and nice people from start to finish and that's what you want.

Fantastic experience: Pediatric Dentistry of Sunset Hills has friendly staff who always ask if you have any concerns and make sure to answer any questions about what procedures will be performed. They make going to the dentist a positive experience for kids by engaging them in what is going on. The office has a very kid friendly environment that makes going less intimidating. My son used to be scared to go to the dentist because the tools used and the sounds made him uncomfortable. After a few visits here he has gotten comfortable with the staff and knows what to expect. He actually looked forward to his latest appointment and kept checking with me on when it was. When I asked him why he told me because he liked going to the dentist and that it was relaxing.

Dr. Kelly answers all of my questions before I even need to ask them, she's intuitive & patient. I love bringing my kids here.

Fantastic experience: I was satisfied with the previous dentists that retired, and was nervous about the new ones. However, Dr. Tieg has really been a pleasant and welcome surprise. Very good chair side disposition (dentists tend to be stiff in my experience), and he tries to work to connect with the child to not only understand the child and make them feel like he IS trying to understand them. He is patient and actually listens to what information parents give that can be helpful to make the experience less stressful to the child (and parent). I really like him and would suggest him.
