Fantastic experience: My kids and I had a really amazing experience at Amato Dentistry today. My youngest gets very nervous at the dentist but the staff made him feel very at ease.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Amato and his staff are 100% professional, and at the same time, friendly and helpful in every respect.

Negative experience: They kept changing up the amount I owed first it was I didn’t owe anything then it was I owed 160+ which I payed, and then they said I still had a balance to pay off which shouldn’t have been possible because the front desk employee had explained the at my insurance covered such and such. Overall they don’t care about you just the money and this place is extremely superficial will push you to get things you don’t need like Botox.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Amato Dentistry for over two years now since moving to West Jefferson. The service and help offered is the best dental assistance I have ever had in my seventy five years. Kayla is the best dental assistant and makes you feel comfortable and knows what she is doing. I really like all of the modern equipment and technology that is used here. All ten members of our family use the services of Amato Dentistry! Best Dentist in the area!

The office was able to get me in the same day. They were able to treat my abscess with antibiotics and referred me to a specialist. I feel like I am assured to be well taken care of.

Negative experience: My experience this week was not as expected. During my routine exam and cleaning, I was told that I needed a deeper cleaning than could be completed that visit so I only had X-rays, gum measurements, and a quick check with the dentist. They scheduled me for the next day and said it would take an hour. I had to wait 6 months to get the initial appointment so was extremely surprised that they could get me back in so quickly. Well, the cleaning only took 30 minutes and was no different than the many other cleanings I have had over the years. I had to pay an additional $200 for this “deeper cleaning.” I had already signed up for their annual membership so had already shelled out $425. I don’t know why this cleaning couldn’t have been completed during the first visit. I feel taken advantage of but will return in 6 months since I’ve already paid for next year.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist I have been to in Ashe County! My regular dentist that I have known for 20 yrs. could not fit me in for 5 days when my crown fell off. Unacceptable ! They told me to go to Urgent care...really? Dr. Amato saw me right away for this emergency and saved the day for my 4th of July BBQ! His staff were all excellent and professional as well. Fantastic experience: First visit as an emergent patient ..my regular office was closed for the 4th holiday. Great staff , excellent care by Dr Amato. Tooth in pain taken out without any fuss..ok, it hurt just a little for just a second. 2 days later, pain free..healing under way, back to being able to eat ! Just might switch dentist...

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr. Amato for the first time this week. From the moment I stepped into the waiting room area, I felt I'd found my dental home in the high country-friendly smiling faces welcomed me and the waiting area was comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. I was called back shortly and the dental assistant was wonderful-knowledgeable, pleasant and compassionate. After taking x-rays, my history and a BP check, Dr. Amato introduced himself after reviewing the record and discussed the treatment plan. Everything is up front so no surprises which I appreciated. It was the easiest numbing experience I've ever had-hardly felt it at all. Two fillings were done. Since I don't have dental insurance, I decided to purchase their optional in-house dental plan which was much like my dentist in NV used. I scheduled for my next cleaning and also made appointment for my husband. It is obvious that Dr. Amato has invested heavily in his practice--a beautiful facility, long-time skilled employees, and cutting edge equipment. His chair side manner was professional with concern for my comfort. This morning, I received a text asking if I had left the umbrella they found. It was mine! When has anyone ever called to tell anyone they found their umbrella--caring people work here.

Fantastic experience: Went in for my 6-month cleaning and annual x-rays. The service was stellar as usual. We had our 4-year old granddaughter with us who watched my cleaning intently and asked questions. She received her first dental cleaning today as well and had a great experience!

Fantastic experience: I moved to Ashe County a little over a year ago and needed a new, local dentist. My primary care physician suggested Amato Dentistry as an option and I'm really glad she did! I was able to get a new patient appointment very quickly, all of the new patient intake was easily done online and my visit was fantastic. Dr. Amato and the staff were all super friendly and efficient in the part they played, I felt very well cared for and highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I would normally rather gouge out my own eyeballs than go to the dentist, and after trying to find a you/tube podcast that might show me how to repair my own teeth and having no luck, I made an appt. with Dr. Amato. I think we have all been to dental offices from hell where the dental hygienist spends 45 minutes talking non-stop about her dog while never giving you a second to swallow and then suddenly spraying a jet of water in your mouth, in your eyes, on your clothes, on the floor, while toothpaste dribbles down the side of your face, and you swipe at your face, trying to keep it from hitting your shirt. And then the dentist comes in, who has 500 pictures of his/her kids on the walls, and if you accidentally look like you are glancing at one of them, a long explanation about what was taking place in that picture ensues. Dr. Amata was seriously the best dental experience I have ever had. The entire office is clean and calm and quiet. Crystal did 18 x-rays--compared with the 3 or 4 normally done in other offices, and she told me about five times to call her if I needed help with anything. Kayla did some kind of exam of every part of my gums by calling out #'s, and then she actually explained to me what she was doing. I was having a lot of pain with a tooth and a couple of other issues, and I was visualizing them telling me it was all completely hopeless, and I needed to just pull out all my teeth and get dentures. But they were very reassuring. Dr. Amata gave me an antibiotic for my tooth that was hurting and explained what I needed to have done. I had several issues, and his office gave me a plan with the costs, so I know exactly what I'm going to need and how much it will cost. They also have a great plan where you pay $425.00 and it covers dental exams and cleanings and a reduction on procedures. It's great if you have just retired and lost dental insurance. If you have to submit to the grueling & mind-numbing experience of regular dental care (and we all do,) this is absolutely the place to do it!!!

Fantastic experience: I’m someone you’d consider “scared of the dentist.” I can assure you, Dr. Amato and his team can make even the worst case of dentist anxiety vanish in an instant with their amazing warmth, knowledge and experience. Their state of the art facility is inviting and clean. The layout of the office is easy to navigate and that’s helpful for someone like me who is vision and directionally impaired. They clearly explain your coverage and patient responsibility by showing you a print out that’s easy to understand. I found that extremely helpful. No surprise charges like some dentists do. Fantastic experience: Update for six months checkup. I arrived early and was almost immediately invited to the examine room. I had the same assistant and hygienist. They were both pleasant and thorough in their procedures. Immediately after my teeth cleaning, I was examined by the dentist. He was likewise thorough and considerate. My entire time spent in the office was probably 30 minutes which I thought was a record for most dental practices. While there, I couldn't help but notice a picture window in the examination room that included a beautiful view into the outdoors. Something rarely seen at any cubicle dental practice I have ever encountered. Likewise, there was a monitor nearby that scrolled through the services available at this practice for dental and skin care. I found this informative and entertaining. I continue to be happy with this practice, their philosophy of dental care, and pricing plan. Thank you Dr. Amato and staff. First visit... I am 72. I found this dental practice by searching reviews. Most all were positive. I think this is the best dental practice I have ever been to. All of the equipment is first class. The assistant and hygienist were awesome. The assistant informed me of the procedures that I would experience and their cost while taking my x-rays in a no nonsense productive capacity. The assistant and hygienist worked together to catalogue my current level of condition. (Something never done before on me) The hygienist then worked productively cleaning my teeth and informing me of the procedure and progress. After this the dentist reviewed my x-rays, and personally examined my teeth. His overview was concise and informative. The outcome was positive without the customary you need to remove this crown or that crown or replace this filling or that filling. "We will watch your condition and react as required". The time spent for this exam and service was minimal with everyone treating me with kindness and thoroughness. Sincerely, Ray Hancock...new patient. 9/25/24

Fantastic experience: I came here for a second opinion regarding my wisdom teeth because I was told I needed a coronectomy and I didn’t feel very comfortable with that. But doctor Amato explained to me very detailed other options and why a coronectomy was the best recommendation for me. I was very pleased with his answer. I recommend 100% Amato Dentistry & Associates. They were really professional and friendly from beginning to end. I felt very comfortable and confident with how they treated me. Fantastic experience: Dr. Amato and his staff are very professional. The admin ladies that greeted me and checked me out were very friendly and helpful. The Dental Hygienist took her time to explain every procedure that she was going to perform prior to each procedure and did a thorough evaluation of my teeth and gums, explaining why she was doing what she was doing during each phase. She also asked me to let her know if I was experiencing any discomfort. At the end of the visit she advised me on how to take better care of my mouth between visits. Her concern was genuine. Dr. Amato answered some questions about an aging tooth and gave me advice on how to go forward with it. He gave me a couple of choices regarding the tooth and advised me to think about the choices without pushing an expensive procedure. I recommend Amato Dentistry and Associates for all of your dental needs.
