Positive experience: Receptionist is very rude when trying to talk to her about anything in general appointments, misunderstandings with appointments etc. Other then that the staff there seems friendly but hard to get ahold of at times and appointments are about a month out if missed. Michelle is wonderful! Quick to fix anything and great communication skills. Thank you so much for the communication & quick to fix the issue. Very generous and great customer service skills!

Fantastic experience: One of the most professional medical offices I have had the pleasure in working with. My two adult children had braces there. And now my two younger daughters are in treatment. The staff is always friendly and have smiles are their faces whenever any of my kids have been there. Dr. Johnson was a big supporter of my children and their career paths going into the military. He always took the time to catch up with them whenever he saw them. Not a lot of doctors do that especially these days!

Negative experience: My husband had a consult with Dr. Johnson and we left extremely pleased. Dr. Johnson was so informative and personable! After considering everything discussed at the consult I decided to call and attempt to schedule/ start treatment. Bri answered the phone and was terribly rude. She was unable (&/or) unwilling to schedule my husband. Bri didn’t want to hear anything I had to say or any questions I had. While I am grateful I was treated so terribly before we initiated any treatment, I am equally as disappointed that this happened.

Fantastic experience: The experience at Cohen & Johnson Orthodontics is comfortable and fairly quick. They are always friendly and try to get you in and out as quick as possible. I am excited that my daughter will out of her braces in a few months! I cannot wait to see her new smile without braces!

Positive experience: I just wish the orthodontist would sit and explain things better instead of acting like he’s in a rush and he don’t have time.

Negative experience: Would not recommend OMI after having two children complete treatment! We asked for a statement so we could submit a claim to insurance, they advised me twice it would not be covered. Our insurance will cover but need a dental claim form. Insurance has rejected due to OMI listing incorrect codes. When we called back into the office the front desk states "let me google it". It is our expectation that the provider performing the work provide the necessary codes for procedures for insurance to pay correctly. Our Insurance Broker also contacted the office to assist on our behalf and was informed by the front desk they were googling the code. The issue stems from our daughter having significant teeth shifting despite having a permanent retainer. We are now paying additional fees to fix and OMI is unwilling to provide us correct billing codes or forms to submit to insurance for reimbursement. I have sent emails asking for someone to contact me, I have sent emails asking for correct codes, we have called asking to discuss with billing or office manager but each time get the front office receptionist only. The attitude and lack of professionalism from the receptionists were not what we have experienced from OMI in our previous years of treatment with both kids.

Fantastic experience: The care of the technition was excellant. I appreciated the Doctor's time as he explained the desired next steps. I appreciated Michelle's willingness to answer all my questions. Thank you for all you are doing for me.

Fantastic experience: I love OMI. The employees are all amazing and kind. They all answer any questions or concerns you have. The entire staff is so sweet and treats everyone amazing. They help you to get the best smile you can get and keep you updated with your progress. I haved had no issues with OMI. I think it is an amazing place.

Fantastic experience: Courtney was super sweet and calming to my VERY nervous and overly chatty son, getting his braces. Everyone is always very nice, professional and super pretty!

Dr. Johnson supports sooo many activities in our community (ie Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School) so I am blessed to support him!

Fantastic experience: Four of our kids have been seen by Dr. Johnson at OMI and we have been happy with the results. The staff is incredible and always smiling. We are happy to recommend OMI.

Negative experience: Staff is inconsiderate to patients on a budget. Loudly and rudely talk down about it at the main desk loud enough for all to hear after patients leave! I'm aware of this bc after I left with my oldest my youngest was brought in to go to the bathroom by a family member who heard it. There are many 5 star orthodontist in Northeast Indiana I suggest you find one with better bedside manner.

Negative experience: I normally have a great experience at this office. However today, watched a receptionist talking about the lady and her child that just checked out. Discussing how far behind she was on payments with other receptionist in front of everyone in the lobby. I didn’t feel that was very professional to do in front of everyone.

Fantastic experience: Yes it was a great visit because they take really good care of your teeth and they give you a Prize if you bring the t-shirt they give you that’s why it is a good place to go.

Fantastic experience: We did not know what to expect from an orthodontist but our visit to OMI far exceeded any loose expectations I held. Everyone was so lovely and the facility is immaculate, calming, and relaxing. My daughter felt so cared for. 10/10 stars.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I experienced my first bad appointment. The lady had to get a mold and she put the tray in my mouth very forcefully, I screamed! I’ve had impressions several times and it never hurts. The side of my mouth was cut! The impression didn’t come out right so she had to do another one. I asked for a smaller tray but she said that’s all she had. She tried shoving it in my mouth and I snatched away from her. She tried again and I snatched away and I said, “!” She went to get someone else and this lady was very gentle and the tray went in. I gave her a thumbs up and nod. When she removed the tray I said, “I don’t know what the hell that other girl was doing.”

Fantastic experience: This office was so amazing! The employees were so friendly and welcoming. This office was very clean and tidy. I absolutely loved Nisha Foster. And the orthopedics are amazing and Caring. I actually would love to work in an environment like this place! I got my braces here as an adult and just recently took my son here for his braces. I highly recommend and the payment plans are fantastic!

Fantastic experience: Very nice atmosphere and work ethic. The techs are very awesome on letting their patient(s) know what they're having today. The doctor(s) always asked their patient(s) if they're have any questions about their procedure getting done.

Fantastic experience: They make my daughter feel super comfortable while she's there. We never pay for appointments. We had several payment plans choices. They gave my daughter a goodie bag when she got her braces. Love them and will take the rest of my kids here!

Fantastic experience: Three of our kids have had their teeth fixed with OMI so far and we are very happy with them! Our most recent visit was especially wonderful. My 9 year old son loved joking with Dr. Johnson and the staff was friendly and professional as always. They are great!

Fantastic experience: They were so helpful! I had to have a filling repaired and so my fairly new retainer no longer fit. Christine got me set up with my new one which just arrived in the mail and fits perfectly. I truly appreciate their professionalism and kindness!

Negative experience: After having the most amazing dentist appointment for myself over at New Haven Dental Center… today was polar opposite here at OMI. My daughter needs braces and I was initially going to have them done with her general dentist because their orthodontist was in network with my insurance. I was quoted about $4k out of pocket with my insurance. Not too bad. But then we had a Health Fair at my job and Dr. Johnson and his wife were there promoting their business, OMI. They told me they were in network with our insurance AND there is a 5% discount incentive since I work at Sweetwater. I sign up, I get a call, we go in and they razzle and dazzle us with their fancy technology. I get my contract and even with my insurance and the discount I’m over $5k out of pocket. But you know what? The place looks nice and everyone was nice (that day) so I felt like we were in good hands. That was in June… Today we went in for her 2 month post fitting appointment. I arrived early as usual but no one is at the desk. No big deal, it’s around lunchtime so I just sit and wait to be checked in. Another patient walked in with her kids and walked around the desk to track down the receptionist. We get checked in, no big deal. 30 mins or so later my daughter is done and is brought to the desk to check out. The next appointment gets scheduled, receptionist hands the appointment sticker to my daughter and we leave. I’ve driven about 3 miles and I’m on the freeway heading to our next errand when my phone rings and my car dash shows OMI. I’m thinking they must have scheduled the wrong type of appointment but I’m wrong. It’s Brie the receptionist. First thing she says is “I tried talking to you but I wasn’t able to obviously” which confused me because I was in the lobby for the last 45 mins and there was no attempt, and you said goodbye when we checked out, thus completing the appointment for today…. She proceeds to tell me that they have not been paid by my insurance and she will be rolling that responsibility on to me. I tell her that I will need to contact my insurance to see what is going on with the billing. She cut me off while I was trying to explain to her that I AM DRIVING RIGHT NOW AND DO NOT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTS IN FRONT OF ME. 3 times I tried to tell her that I will call her back after calling my insurance, and 3 times she cut me off to tell me that I’m wrong and that the billing is right. I had to pull over to compose myself because of how upset I was. I’ve worked in the medical industry for 15 years and I know how billing is done. I know the difference between in network and out of network. Never have I called a patient after leaving an appointment to tell them that I was going to charge them what their insurance didn’t pay. I already know if my insurance doesn’t pay that it is my responsibility, but I should be given the opportunity to look into the claim and follow up, right? Well, turns out OMI is in fact, out of network with my insurance. The office manager and Brie called me back on speaker phone to discuss the contract once I had gotten home and logged into my insurance portal. As we went back and forth about the financials I heard Brie laughing and repeating herself as if I was stupid. So now we are done here. It’s not about the money. It’s about the respect and professionalism. I’m transferring my daughter out and will not be returning. I’d rather give my money to a practice that is honest and professional and makes us feel welcomed. Like NEW HAVEN DENTAL CENTER! ❤️ I can’t see myself returning to that staff for the next year and a half and feeling this kind of angst. Not worth it.

Fantastic experience: I have worked with OMI for a couple of years now, and it has been a positive experience. They have listened to what I have wanted and are very communicative about the plan for my care. Everyone is very friendly as well. Highly recommend!

They have taken time to fully explain each step in the process of getting braces for my daughter, including options available to her. We have been very happy with OMI and would definitely recommend them to others.

Fantastic experience: Melanie did a great job putting in my inner braces! The braces go on the back of the teeth and were still a new trial thing so it was her first time inserting them and she still did awesome! Courtney took them out when I was all done and she also did a great job! Barely any pain both times! The entire staff here is extremely friendly! Overall a great experience and I definitely recommend OMI!

Fantastic experience: We have moved around a bit and been to a few different orthodontists and OMI blows them all out of the water! Courtney always makes us laugh and both Dr. Johnson and Dr. Nye are wonderful. Everyone there seems to enjoy working together. Fantastic experience: I love it here! Getting braces put on today at 32 years young lol. I visited three different orthodontist and I landed at OMI because they were very knowledgeable, polite, clean, updated facility, Dr. Johnson was great, full of humor and kindness. I loved his personality and he made me feel safe and comfortable to get treatment done here. All of the staff that I had dealings with were extremely nice and professional. My appointment went really fast without feeling rushed. Even the wait time was super short. I love this place, wish me luck!!!

Fantastic experience: Just visited OMI for a new retainer, as they took over my former orthodontist’s practice. Dr. Hayes did all my orthodontic work so I was worried going to a new location when he retired but the staff and Doctor at OMI were extremely friendly and easy to work with throughout the process. The lady at the front desk even stayed late to help get me checked out since the other was with another patient. Again, staff went above and beyond!

Fantastic experience: OH MY! O-M-I Orthodontics! :) We were extremely fortunate to visit O-M-I and begin Orthodontic treatment for my daughter there. I want to state upfront, O-M-I was not our first choice due to its distance from our home's South-Central Fort Wayne location, we in fact had a consultation to a closer "elsewhere" Orthodontics office first. That consultation "elsewhere" left us feeling rushed and bewildered by the treatment option being presented. And boy, am I happy I trusted my gut to get a second opinion. So, again- the main reason we chose O-M-I was for a second opinion. However, about 10 minutes into our free 1.5 hr consultation (including imaging!) with O-M-I, it was very clear they were the wise choice and distance in commute no longer mattered. For comparison sake- note that we spent less than 10 mins total with the initial "elsewhere" place- without imaging. A VERY BIG difference, folks. O-M-I's expertise and structure of consultation blew the "elsewhere"competition out of the water. O-M-I's treatment plan was also vastly different from the "elsewhere"'s plan. Basically, we would have wasted 12 mos. of my daughters treatment plan with an unnecessary device and set back her skeletal and braces treatments that long as well, if we had pursued them instead of O-M-I's. Dr. Johnson was also gracious in presenting the alternate plan compared to "elsewhere's", there wasn't any "Us vs. Them" or "We know, they don't." etc. Just science. :) I was comforted by the fact that Dr. Johnson, who is overseeing my daughter's treatment, teaches at the University of Michigan for the Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry Dept. Also, by his approachable demeanor and how he interacted effortlessly with my daughter, engaging her primarily throughout, actively bringing her into the "why's" and "how's" of her treatment plan which IMO, cultivates my daughter's ownership and responsibility of her care for years to come. What a breath of fresh air! Our consultation/treatment coordinator, Christie was so friendly, thorough and patient as well. She's quite an asset to round out the care experience there. Top notch all around. :) I encourage anyone who had a similar experience in wanting a second opinion, to contact O-M-I. You can confidently walk away knowing you made a wise choice in making sure you are informed by some of the best Fort Wayne has to offer.

Fantastic experience: Overall exceptional experience at OMI! Courtney was fabulous, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was able to get an appointment quickly to replace a retainer that my puppy had eaten, and the appointment thankfully took no time at all for the new impressions. Thank you OMI!

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been going here for her phase 2 with braces. The staff and doctors are great! Friendly and upbeat. The office is very clean. We like that the doctors are able to include technology and their knowledge to make adjustments accurately which helps speed up the time the patients are in braces. Bringing our next 2 kids here for their phase 1 evaluation/consultation. Very nice practice!

Fantastic experience: I love this office! From our initial consultation to placement of braces i am overly pleased. The office is clean and all the staff are extremely professional in appearance with excellent customer service! Dr. Johnson does an amazing job at explaining the why behind everything. They really think of everything and take great care of you! My daughter was even sent home with 4 different options for soft foods for her first day with braces. Highly recommend OMI for braces

Fantastic experience: I have been in braces for about 6 months now. At OMI I have felt right at home from my initial consultation. Everyone there has been so kind and always talks me through everything they are doing. I waited way too long in life to get braces, but I'm so thankful for their exceptional care. They also do their best to stay on time with my appointments, which I appreciate!

They have the best receptionists of any Dr/dentist office I’ve been to, always so friendly and helpful and easy to schedule with. Fantastic experience: The OMI staff is incredible. I started my smile journey about a year and a half ago. When I first started I was unsure if I would get the ‘Wow!’ smile of my dreams. I just didn’t think it was obtainable for me. Boy was I mistaken! Everyone there did everything they could, everyone was so friendly and informative. I didn’t think I would enjoy braces, but they really weren’t that bad in the long run. The OMI staff exceeded my expectations. I can’t stop smiling!!

Fantastic experience: When I came to OMI first, I was hopeless and did not think there could be a solution to my teeth that I’d be happy with, but WOW was I wrong!! I chose to trust their team because Dr. Johnson absolutely answered all my questions and gave me honest expectations. I remember he told me there was a chance it would not turn out perfect but he was very hopeful 80/20 and I appreciate honesty. I admire the work of everyone in there, they are the best in the north Indiana for sure and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I cannot give OMI enough praise!!!! They have done so well on my teeth but they go above and beyond! I got braces while pregnant and every time I have an appointment I’m able to bring my daughter and the whole team adores her and gets me in and out quickly before she gets upset at me lol I am so unbelievably grateful for them. I also want to specifically mention Sarah! She is so kind and we have great conversations each time. It’s more than customer service she really makes me feel like her friend! I love everyone there and I appreciate them so much more than I can explain! I am a single mom and I work full time, I wouldn’t be able to fix my teeth if I had to get a babysitter for each appointment. Thank you a million times!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Having your kids in braces is never pleasant, money and mouths full of metal, but the OMI staff makes the experience really great. They are so flexible with payment plans, allowing me small payments each month with no interest. The assistants become like friends and they are just so kind.

After consulting with two other offices, our decision was easy. The process of applying braces was so smooth, the technician explained everything and my son had was at ease with no complaints.

Fantastic experience: This is kid number three going through treatment at OMI. The staff is incredibly friendly, and very understanding when you have little ones that are nervous about what they're going through. They always accommodate our busy schedule, and the payment plans make it easy to have multiple kids in braces without overburdening your wallet! They are so much, they sent our son home with soft food to eat and a special toothbrush that he was very proud of. I would highly recommend OMI!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved my experience from the free construction to getting my braces placed. They are wonderful and amazing staff. I was told by another dentist that I’d need to remove a bottom tooth to get the smile I wanted but OMI worked with me so I wouldn’t have to remove a tooth. I’m excited for my results!!

Fantastic experience: Our daughter had her separators placed last week. Courtney did a wonderful job with her! We are going to have 2 kiddos in braces at the same time. OMI did a great job making a payment plan that works for our family. We had our consult with Dr. Dager. He made both of the girls feel super comfortable and was very personable. He took the time to go over each case individually and did not rush thru any of the information. We are very happy with our decision to have both of our girls braced at OMI.

Fantastic experience: Everyone has been very friendly and pleasant. Getting braces put in is never a fun experience, but the staff makes it more pleasant. Free t-shirt and travel mug are included with being a patient. Payment plans were set up to work with my income and I was informed as I'd like to be.

Fantastic experience: Our dentist actually referred us to a different orthodontist, but we came to OMI for a second opinion and from the moment we walked in we felt so welcomed. The atmosphere was just very inviting. I also liked the concept of a team of orthodontists looking at my daughter’s case, as opposed to just one doctor. My seven year old loves coming here because they have video games in the lobby, so I don’t have to fight her about coming:) The orthodontic technicians are all super friendly and very patient. I would absolutely recommend OMI.

Fantastic experience: I got braces on in 2018, and just recently got them off. The staff and doctors were great through the process, making sure to explain everything so I always what was going on. They opened up a gap to move things around and had a hard time closing it. But over all I loved the staff and doctors there!

Fantastic experience: I brought my son in today to get his expander put in. He was pretty nervous and is usually a "challenge " when he's unsure of something. Jess put his mind at ease pretty much instantaneously. He is a talker and asked lots of questions and she answered every one of them, even things that didn't pertain to his expander lol. I appreciate the fact that she didn't just rush him and make him feel uneasy. She told him numerous times how well he was doing and reassured him that that she was proud of him. He appreciated that as much as I did as his mom. Three of us are patients here and I don't have a bad thing to say about anything. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with a smile. Fantastic experience: I Love OMI Orthodontics! I myself had "adult braces" there, a little over a decade before taking my daughter. They are very thorough and everyone is so friendly and helpful! I did pay for hers in full, but they offered us different types of financing which I thought could be useful to some of my friends whose children needed braces.

Fantastic experience: I have three kids in braces currently. They made it possible for us to setup a plan that made treatment affordable. We usually go to the Auburn branch. Jodi at the front desk is super nice and helpful. Dr. Johnson is great. (Haven't met the other doctors yet). All of the staff we have ever dealt with have been super. Recently, our insurance changed and we had some issues with claims. I contacted Abby to see if she could help me. She was very helpful and could explain things to me in a way that I could understand. She was in contact with me through the entire process to let me know what was going on. Eventually everything was worked out. Thank you so much Abby! I highly recommend this practice. OMI is the best!

The staff are very responsive to questions and helpful! In addition, they worked with us to figure out a payment plan to make the expense of braces affordable. Fantastic experience: OMI is absolutely wonderful! My 10 year old child has had such a great experience with their braces over the last year. Not only has OMI been great about making sure the child is comfortable and feels at ease, they take the time to explain what they are doing and how to properly maintain the hardware when something is added or removed. My child actually enjoys going in for checks and always looks forward to seeing all the workers and they know my child by name. Hands down great experience compared to my childhood trauma of orthodontics!

Fantastic experience: My son's treatment took place right when covid hit, and even though the dynamic of his visits did change, the O-M-I team was fantastic throughout the whole process! The staff did a wonderful job communicating all of the information from the visit and took great care of my son while I waited in the car. I would (and have) recommend the team at O-M-I.
