Negative experience: Really liked them at first, but have been trying to resolve an issue with them for weeks, office manager won't return my calls, tried today for the second time this week. Good dental bad support beyond that.

Fantastic experience: The staff was able to squeeze us in for a cleaning within a week of us calling their Taylorsville office, and they got us in right around our appointment time. Our hygienist, Eric, was fast, gentle, and effective, and we enjoyed the exam with the debris as well. Overall, the service and the price was exactly what we were looking for. We highly recommend Genesis Dental’s Taylorsville office.

Fantastic experience: On 12/16/25 my temporary crown broke, I called the office to let them know, since I live far away from the dental clinic, I got there 5 minutes after stuff left, they closed at 2 PM on that day. I was very upset because I had to travel the next day. The receptionist Tarra is the best, she was a technitian for many years and change her potition to do office work, she with the help of another tecnitian volunteered to do the new crown. She said she will try to make a new temp, she worked as a dental technitian for many years. I could not believe she was going to do it, I acepted. She did a marvelous job, the new temporary crown was perfect, better than the one that was put the day before when I went for my appointment. She was very professional when was working on my tooth, she new what she was doing, I love her, I loved her work. She saved my day and my trip. Thank you Terra, thank you to all the stuff, you guys are the best!!! I was going to change dentist to get closer to my residence, but because of this act of generosity and care for the patients, I will continue with Genesis Dental at Taylorsville, they are the best, it will be worth the drive. I was a little skeptical when, during my first visit, he recommended one of my crowns get replaced. But during the replacement procedure, he showed me on screen the decay that had been happening underneath the old crown. I've trusted his judgement ever since.

They try to be as gentle as possible and they don’t sugarcoat what is wrong with your teeth. They will tell you they will write out an expense report and altogether. They’re just really good. It’s a really good environment, especially if You’re scared for getting your teeth checked.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, Vicki helped me right away got me into an appointment as soon as possible within 5 minutes of talking explaining my issues pains and concerns, Vicki was able to ease my mind and got me an appointment as soon as 8 am with me calling her at 7:30 am, within 5 minutes my appointment was ready to a location close to me, absolutely the best service I have gotten.

Negative experience: If i could give this place zero stars I would. My dental insurance limited my options, & I ended up stuck here. I strongly suggest you find another dentist, other than Dr. Foltz. There is a dental office next door. Check them out before coming here. I made the greatest mistake of having them do some extensive work. Both times it was a disaster. Now, I’m in the process of paying more money to get it fixed. If you have options, I encourage you to look into those options before stepping foot into this establishment. UPDATE: please read their response. I had given this establishment the opportunity to correct their error with an extensive procedure of fixing my front tooth bite. During the procedure he shaved my tooth to fit the bite. However, I now have a gap in my bite and air pockets. I had contacted them a week after the procedure in July 2025. It took a month to get a reply. I then took it upon myself to check with another provider on what I see and his thoughts. The provider stated the work completed was far less than par. In order to fix this, it will cost me $8K out of pocket because Genesis has exhausted my dental benefits and will not reimburse me or fix this issue. This is the second time I had this exact issue with them. I trusted them to not make the same mistakes. I used loyalty and blinded my instincts. I should have listened to my intuition considering Dr.Foltz’s has never made me feel comfortable or accepted during my annual checkups. I assumed it was me. However, with the statements below, my instincts were correct. Dr. Foltz doesn’t genuinely care about his patients. If he did, he would have at least made an effort. Instead he excused my genuine concerns and told me to never come back. Please note that that my daughters and I have been a patients of Genesis dental for many years. If Dr.Foltz felt that he was inexperienced or uncomfortable with these types of procedures, then the proper steps would be for him to refer to another dentist. I double down on this location, do not come here. They will treat you just the same. Their dental technicians are fresh out of dental school and there are going to be mistakes that they are unwilling to correct. Also, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING until after you see the work. Genesis dental advised me to sign a form stating I was satisfied with the work in an email PRIOR to my appointment and another form while waiting in the office. You shouldn’t be coerced into these types of perfidious behaviors in an establishment. Hi Maricella, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. Fantastic experience: AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I'm terrified of dentist visits and was in pain last night. Scheduled something late last night and they were able to get me in early this afternoon. I think the assistant was Lindsi, I could be wrong but her and the dentist were extremely caring and made the extraction seamless. Talked me through the whole process and checked in with me throughout the whole thing. I think I found me a new permanent dentist! Thank you all so much! Fantastic experience: The staff here is always very kind and easy to work with. My hygienist Eric has always done fantastic with me and my family, and always seems to do the best polishing leaving my teeth super white (even at the gum line). The hygienist Bailey who most recently worked on me was amazing and I have to mention how thoughtful she was during the cleaning that I didn't even have any sore bleeding gums, and she overall was very kind and made me feel at ease. Dr. Foltz has also been a great dentist to work with. He has a friendly but more importantly a very calming demeanor which is something most dentists could work on. He also does a thorough job of explaining things to me, which someone of my curious (and anxious) nature appreciates. Genesis dental has a different location that is closer to my house, but because of the staff mentioned above I still prefer to drive a little further to the Taylorsville location. -DC

Positive experience: This has been my dentist for several years now. Like many, I’ve had traumatizing painful experiences before and avoided the dentist for years due to that. But when my crown fell off I was forced to seek help and came here. The fact that I don’t feel pain during cleanings or drillings keeps me coming back here, as well as how friendly the team is. Dr. Foltz makes sure I’m comfortable during procedures and walks me through it all which helps put me at ease. He always has something interesting and funny to say which takes my mind off things a bit too. While all the hygienists are friendly and great to work with, I will say some are more thorough than others. I’ve requested to only schedule with a certain hygienist whose work I prefer, since my old one would very obviously rush through the cleaning every single time. I also appreciate that they make suggestions on some optional/cosmetic things but don’t pressure unnecessary procedures. They let me know what my insurance covers and have provided accurate estimates.

I received a flyer in the mail about Taylorsville GENESIS DENTAL and decided to check them out. From my initial call to get an appointment the front office staff are amazing with great customer service skills; Alyssa, Vicky, Tarra to mention a few. Then on to the incredible DENTIST, Dr FOLTZ and HYGIENIST, ERIC. They were so thorough and made me very at ease. Incredible these men are!!! I have such a fear of dentists and reason for my procrastination. Their fantastic skills calmed me down in a short time with their kindness and compassion. I left feeling truly comforted and blessed. Living outside the SLC area makes getting appointments and quick turn around a challenge. When I need something quick or even just to find the quickest available time we call Genesis as we know they will make it happen. Fantastic experience: I have been going to Genesis Dental on Redwood Rd for about 15 years now. They're professional, friendly, and always take care of my dental needs. I moved to St. George over 5 years ago and I still come to SLC every 4 months for my appts. Recently, the dentist was ill so the office was busy rescheduling everyone. I had arrived in SLC the night before and needed my cleaning done so I wouldn't have to turn around and come up from St. George again. Even though I couldn't see the Dr., the dental hygienist cleaned my teeth as usual...now that's taking care of your patients!

Negative experience: Edit: Had to lower my review to 2-stars. The crown had some lingering pain which I thought was normal, but it turned out the root canal was a total failure and the dentist (using power tools) had gone through the side of my tooth and caused an even worse infection. Had to go to a different dentist who did the procedure properly with hand picks and it feels like a million bucks. Only leaving it at 2 stars because the staff was so great and the procedure was at least painless even though they messed it up worse.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Folts is one of the best Dentists I have been to. His technique and repose he creates is top notch. His assistant Aleza was absolutely awesome. They made a great cohesive team. Nothing but good things to say about the two of them.

Negative experience: Super bummed. Dr Foltz has always taken great care of me. Especially for emergencies. I had an emergency today and wasn't able to be seen. Due to another medical appointment I'm unable to make an appointment tomorrow. I've been in pain all weekend. I came there because of a trusted friend. I've had a really bad experience somewhere else. but I guess thats the way it goes. Today's yating only reflects today's experience. None of the others.

I was in so much pain i was in and out of urgent cares and dental offices and my quotes were about $6000. here they did the work for 150$!! and it was so much less painful and they were so much friendlier than anywhere else i went!! i will definitely be doing all of my dental work here and encourage everyone else to as well!

Fantastic experience: This is the best dental office in town. They are so kind and gentle. They take the time to explain everything that they are going to do. Kao Ly and Eric are very through and always (and gently) keep my teeth clean. Alisa is always caring and kind. Everyone here is just great. I love this dental office. Good job guys. Dr Foltz has done 2 implants and I just feel like it was done expertly. I don't think that any other dentist does better.

Fantastic experience: I was overall impressed with their equipment and service. The dentist was precise and did really good work. In the past I've dealt with dentists trying to upsell me with large treatment plans and huge costs. Here they got to the root of the problem (pun intended) and gave me a realistic and reasonable treatment plan and executed it seamlessly. I like how you gets text reminders about your appointments and all of your paperwork is done electronically. I will be making any future dental appointments here.

Fantastic experience: Friendly atmosphere. Love my dentist. The hygienists are fabulous.. Very attentive to my needs and comes thru with my complete satisfaction.

Negative experience: I'm very upset. I went to this dentist because of a toothache. They told me I needed a crown. They used my insurance and charged me more than $600. Then I went back because the pain didn't go away, and they did another procedure on the same tooth with the crown and charged me again. I went a third time and got charged again. In the end, I was left with the toothache and $900 less in my pocket. Their response was to go see a specialist.

Alisa M was phenomenal walking me through the entire process of a potential root canal, and Kao Ly was incredible explaining the steps of my cleaning and how I can maintain my oral health at home.
