I recently went in for a procedure and the staff helped me feel so comfortable, despite my anxiousness.The procedure was finished quickly and efficiently. I did not experience any pain and even receieved a follow-up text to check on me the next day. I can tell through my experience and observation of other patient interactions that the staff genuinely care about their patients. I found my forever dentist at Kennedy Dentistry! I cannot thank them enough for their honesty and professionalism.

Negative experience: I called about a month ago asking to be seen for a hole in my gum. I booked an appointment over the phone and later was sent the intake forms to fill out. I filled out the forms online (days before the appointment) and specifically said on them I wanted to be seen for the hole in my gum and did not want X-rays. I showed up today and they asked me to fill out the intake forms, I said I already did and they retrieved them. Then they asked me to sign an X-ray consent form, I said I did not want X-rays and they said I could not do the appointment without X-rays because they "couldn't diagnose anything without x-rays." The workers seem nice, but this was a disappointing experience because they obviously did not read the intake forms ahead of time, evidenced by them not realizing I had already filled them out noting I would not do x-rays, which would have saved us both time and trouble on a workday. Also, every other practice I've been to in Knoxville has allowed appointments without x-rays. The claim they need an X-ray to look at my gums is quite dubious, and I would guess the policy stems from x-rays being covered by insurance and thus there being a profit incentive to require them.

Fantastic experience: Kennedy dentistry always takes phenomenal care of my family and I, they will work hard on helping you with billing, making sure you comfortable,and following up with you the next day. All of this coming from a man who really doesn't like going to the dentist. Thank you Kennedy dentistry you guys are awesome!

Negative experience: I had my appointment scheduled for 11am. The day before at 1pm I called and said I was starting to feel like I was getting the flu (you know these things at my age). She stated I would be charged $25 because I didn't call 24 hours before, I called 22 hours before. That is sickening. Definitely in today's economy. Then asked if I wanted to reschedule...the greatest part of this story is that morning (the next day) I get a text from them stating their hygienist is unable to see me today that they will need to reschedule. Of course I sent them a text back saying that will be $25. The part that is even better...that has been a year ago and they still are sending a bill for $25. I have always been someone who respects integrity. They just don't have it. The sad thing is my dentist who I had for 15 years took his own life during covid. It took everything in me to see another dentist. My first visit was just ok, they make you feel like you have to do it their way, like you sign a thing saying you will do x-rays every year. They just made me feel some kind of way. My dentist was never like that he respected me and my wish of only wanting to get x-rays every 3 years. This place is definitely not a family dentistry in my book. But if you like fake nice then this is the place for you.

Fantastic experience: Happy! I was in need of a caring dentist that would listen to my concerns,wants and needs.. I thought my situation was complicated since I don't have insurance,didn't want the only teeth I have left pulled and refused to go toothless before getting a partial. Thankfully after much research/reviews,I found Emily O'Hara DDS! She heard my concerns,kept my financial ability in mind while discussing what must be done & options to consider. I had couple extractions,several fillings all in one appt without needing anything for anxiety!! She made a temporary so I wasn't hideous while I healed before getting my partial,even followed up with me next day to ask how I'm doing. I wanted better care than chain/commercial places I settled for in past,I absolutely got that. Thanks Dr O'Hara! CP

Dr. Thompson was also very gentle thorough. Sometimes going to the dentist can give me anxiety, but I felt totally comfortable and relaxed the entire time! I highly recommend. :)

I feel so fortunate to have found her and the Kennedy practice. The entire staff is friendly and professional. Dr. Thomas is very thorough, explains everything so that you know what to expect, and is a perfectionist. I've been to Dr. Thomas 3 times and it's been an exceptional experience each time. She truly cares about your comfort level and getting the procedure correct. From the time you walk in, until you walk out, you feel that you are receiving the best care possible. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas and Kennedy Dental.

I have had so many bad experience with different dentists that claim I had issues I didn’t to make money. Dr Kennedy has the best equipment to scan teeth and do his job as best as possible. My dental hygienist Lindsey is awesome and today I met a dental assistant Olena that was very patient and careful to do the best job ever Just got married this month and can’t wait for my wife to start coming here.
