Fantastic experience: My 94 year old mother has been going to this office for years (when needed) and they are absolutely amazing! The level of care is unparalleled and the staff and doctors are all truly caring and attentive. While I have noticed some medical professionals seem to brush off concerns of senior citizens, Dr. Sonick’s office addresses all concerns with sincerity and patience. This is a wonderful practice! Nobody “likes” going to the have work done on their teeth but if you need something done, this is the place to do it.

Fantastic experience: I travel as long as two hours some time depending on traffic to be with Dr Ma, but I’d travel anywhere to have Dr Ma my surgeon!! He is the absolute best for all the reasons a doctor is perfect! He cares about me and it is so obvious. He’s gentle … never in a hurrry. His needles don’t hurt bc he not only goes very slowly but knows exactly where to numb me. ETC ETC!! I found him because Dr Ma reconstructed My son in law,s jaw after an infection had eaten it. Grizzly thought ..but he was the best for Andy and now the best for me.

Fantastic experience: I have had this procedure done by a different dentist before and I can’t get over the difference when I went to this practice. It was almost pain free. And the discomfort after was minimal. They took a lot of precaution to ensure that my procedure went as smooth as possible. Even used homeopathic medicine to help with the swelling (which it did). Fantastic experience: I have been going to the offices of Dr. Sonick and Dr. Ma for two years - which included my first implant last year. I am now scheduled for my second implant next week. Clearly Dr. Sonick took great care in picking his partner. Dr. Ma has been extremely attentive during the lead up to my second implant. 24 hours after the surgery, Dr Ma called to make sure everything was going well (it was). And now, less than 72 hours since surgery and my swelling and pain is minimal. I am very pleased with all aspects of the service from Dr. Ma and everyone at this great office. UPDATE January 25, 2017 Just had a checkup with Dr. Ma and everything with the second implant is great. I will now be scheduling the new crown. Staff - as always - was wonderful. I will be back in three months for regular cleaning - and to show off new crown!

Fantastic experience: Start to finish the entire experience was flawless. The office is extremely organized and both the staff and Dr. Sonick meticulous explained the procedure with its attendant benefits and risks. Dr. Sonick personally reviewed the x-ray findings before and after the procedure and during the procedure continued to explain each step of the process. Meticulous attention was paid to all the preoperative and postoperative instructions. The procedure itself went without a hitch. Fantastic experience: Dr Sonic is fantastic, he fixed my gums a few years ago and they look and feel perfect. I thought I would need further surgery but thanks to Dr Sonic’s honesty and integrity he assured me that the extra surgery was not necessary. I would highly recommend his practice.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Dr. Ma and his team for my CTG surgery last week. I felt like I was in the best of hands throughout every step of the procedure. The office has been nothing but responsive and friendly. Follow up: I had my regular checkup and cleaning last week with my dentist who offered his professional admiration for Dr. Ma’s work. The next day I had my one-year follow-up with Dr. Ma, who said the surgery had achieved his goal of 100% coverage of the exposed root. It just doesn’t get better than this.

Fantastic experience: I am a difficult dental patient, and I can say without a doubt that Dr Ma services are outstanding. This was my third visit to his practice and I have received the best service every time. After surgery, not only Dr Ma’s assistant called me the day after to check on me but Dr Ma himself call me on Sunday to make sure I was recuperating well. Of course, I don’t want to have another dental implant but if I ever see myself needing one I would only want Dr Ma to perform the procedure.

Positive experience: Nice office, nice Dr and staff, overall a good experienced. I heard from others that this practice was good, and after Dr Ma performed my initial oral surgery I had high hopes of a successful treatment. However, my implant and bone graft on one side did not take. Dr Ma assured me he will work to correct this issue despite it setting my treatment back some seven months. He prescribed me antibiotics after removing the original implant and cleaning up the infection. I’m aware these things can happen, and I am pleased that Dr Ma has assured me he will work to get my treatment finalized. My opinion of this practice has not changed despite the setback that has left me a bit disappointed in the timescale to get my procedures completed. As always all the staff are excellent and Dr Ma is the complete gentleman in his chair side manner. My most recent visit to Dr Ma was for a CT scan to ascertain the progress with my replacement bone graft which was done as part of his promise to put my failed bone graft right. Thankfully it all looks good so far and on track for my implant in January 2024. This will be hopefully the final stage of my Oral surgery. I appreciate there will still be a waiting time after the implant before the final introduction of my lower plate anchor points. As always Dr Ma was very reassuring, and as always was the complete gentleman in his determination to bring my treatments to a conclusion. The staff are as always thorough and pleasant on dealing with my case arrangements. Despite still being somewhat disappointed in the timescale of my treatments, I’m completely satisfied that it will soon be just a past memory, and I can go on enjoying the benefits of having a new smile that everyone has said “ Takes years off my appearance” Mostly a repeat of the above, I have to wait now for another 6 months to see if the newest bone graft has taken and done the job it’s required to do to complete my plan.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience in the first of four sessions for root planing. I have dental anxiety and was quite nervous at the beginning of the appointment. The combination of topical and injected numbing anesthesia, as well as nitrous oxide, made the one hour session totally pain free. The hygienist was skilled and reassuring and all of the staff are friendly and welcoming. I had an initial appointment with a surgical assistant and Dr. Sonick, who examined me and recommended the procedure. He and his staff certainly live up to the practice’s excellent reputation!

Fantastic experience: I waited 1 year to post a review so that it would be an honest follow up of my experience with FCIP. 5 Star all the way. I was very pleased with Dr. MA and his staff. I had to have bone grafting, which went super well, then waited until I healed, then went back for one tooth extraction + 3 implants on bottom right (molars). The procedure took 2 hours and they took into consideration my high anxiety and made me feel very comfortable and pain free. Surgery felt more like 30 minutes rather than 2 hours. Recovery was literally pain free and just some swelling for a few days. The office is super clean, high tech and efficient. You can listen to your pick of music while they do procedure which aids in a calm, spa like atmosphere. Dr. Ma is great, one of the top 3 Dr's I have seen, very calm and professional and his talent and workmanship is nothing short of meticulous. I cannot say enough about this group and I highly recommend. We had a 2 hour pre-OP appointment and we discussed issues, method of correction, exactly what would be done and how it would be done, risks, results, post op instructions and preventative care and price. Dr. Ma answered all my questions with patience and left no stone unturned. He made sure I was confident in my decision to have this surgery. There were no surprises. Integrity, workmanship, customer service and post care 5 star. I go back every 4 months to have my teeth cleaned so they must be doing something right!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sonick did a great job with my procedure. He communicated very well and he gave me everything I needed to be comfortable during the procedure. The medications he prescribed have worked very well and I’ve not had any pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Sonick.

Fantastic experience: July 2023 I met Dr. Sonick for the first time last week at my first appointment. He came highly recommended by someone I also just recently met and trust wholeheartedly. Dr. Sonick struck me as a very caring person, not just an excellent implant surgeon and periodontist! He made me feel at ease! Like most people, I don’t run and try to be first in line to go to the dentist! I had a few very bad experiences at the dentist when I was very young! My Mom had to drag me to the dentist after that! The good news is, I feel that I will be greatly cared for by Dr. Sonick, and I am actually hoping that my appointment is sooner than it is presently scheduled as I have a pretty long road ahead. August 2023 Well, since the above review I have had some major work done. Dr. Sonick is the best!! After the surgery I recovered so fast with very little swelling and absolutely no complications! Both he and his office staff are calming, caring and meticulous!! The follow up from both he and his staff is like none other! I could go on and on. Just simply the best!!

Fantastic experience: The minute I arrived at Dr. Sonick's office I was warmly greeted by his excellent staff, making certain I was prepared for my oral surgery. The extraction was absolutely painless and the placement of my implant was also absolutely painless. Dr. Ma performed the surgery with the assistance of highly qualified assistances and I felt I was in great and capable hands the entire time.

Positive experience: Dr Ma was exceptional however my experience with some of the staff was a different matter. I went in specifically for a laser procedure but due to miss communication from staff I was given 4 shots of novacaine that I didn't need or required. A miserable and painful experience

Fantastic experience: The best practice ever! If I could give Dr. Sonick, Dr. Ma, and their whole team 10 stars I would. Each and every person who works at this office - from the doctors to the hygienists to the front desk staff - is kind, professional, talented, experienced, and takes the utmost care to make sure you are taken care of and have an excellent experience. This time I went to get my teeth cleaned and had staining on my two front teeth and more. Kathy was meticulous with removing the stains and gave me an excellent cleaning without any pain. I left the office feeling like a whole new person!! I’m forever grateful for this excellent practice.

Fantastic experience: This office is off the charts amazing Dr Sonick really takes his time to make sure the patient completely understands the process. The hygienist Cathy performed my SRP’s cleanings and was so gentle and thorough. They really know how to care for their patients. I really didn't get the just another number vibes that I have experienced in other practices. The front office was also very professional and caring. Can not say enough of how much I appreciate them all for understanding my difficult situation.

Negative experience: I was not informed that you are out of the network and charged the fee that I can not prepare. The examinations were thorough, but you need to inform patients of all the tools you use for diagnostics and which are covered by the insurance. I am afraid that nothing is covered by it. I was informed of a 3-d scan and I signed the form that I acknowledged it, though. Does the doctor need it to confirm what is needed? She is well experienced and won't need the 3-d scan. She just followed the procedure. The initial examination was more than $200, which I think is outrageous. Does an out-of-network doctor charge that much? My experience was not pleasant. My problem was not critical and just an esthetic. Asking me to go through 3- a scan was not necessary and I should not have done it. I am regrettably satin it now. I can not grasp that I paid more than $700 for the examination and her diagnosis. Some rich people can afford your practice. Having a teacher's salary, how can I afford you? I trusted that I am in good hands, but only rich people can say that.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at this practice for almost twenty years. Everything about the experience is very upscale. DR Sonic is very approachable and smart. I trust him explicitly . This is followed up with an immaculately clean environment and a very nice and patient staff. The practice is run like a business a well oiled machine.

Fantastic experience: A few years ago it would be unthinkable for me to feel compelled to write a review of a dentist. But here we are. The first thing you notice when you walk into Dr. Sonic’s practice is that it is thriving, it’s busy in a way that makes you feel comfortable that other people go here, too, as patients are ushered in and out with precision. It also (on first glance) reminded me of some of the other medical practices I know where one is treated more like a number, however, this is not the case with Dr. Sonic and his associates, everyone from the receptionist to the dental hygienist to the dentist themselves care about your dental health…and none more so than Dr. Stephanie Koo. She cares, sometimes more than you and she is one of the rare few who combined, intelligence, expertise and a warming personality to her profession. I have had nothing but expert care in her hands and she’s gained my admiration and trust along the way Now I have seen no less than 10 dental professionals in my lifetime- too bad Dr. Koo could’nt have been the first. Think of all the x-rays I would’ve saved on. One of the highest compliments I can pay Dr. Sonic and his associates is that I have always been someone who looked for reasons not to go to the dentist to avoid them, and you could say I’m paying the price now, but you could also say that my outlook has changed as I now look forward to seeing Dr. Koo and everyone there and always feel better when I leave then when I came in, even when they drill into my teeth. I come from New York just to see Dr. Koo, sit in horrendous traffic on I 95, and and I will continue to do so because it’s always worth it. I would advise others to do the same.

Fantastic experience: Went to Dr. Ma for a year for specific procedure. He could not have been nicer. Kept me informed and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. Staff extremely friendly. Facility is spotless. Would highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: From the first moment in the office to the last, everyone was not only highly professional and attentive to my needs as a patient, but conveyed a sense of true care for me as a patient and as a person. Dr. Ma is truly outstanding, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a periodontist. He is warm and caring, but is also clearly a skillful practitioner. I am extremely nervous about dental procedures, but Dr. Ma’s demeanor put me at ease. I must add that the assistants also were attentive to my nervousness, and did everything possible to make my procedure painless and relaxing—and they succeeded. I have already told everyone I know that this is the place to go if they ever need periodontal care. It would take too long to convey all the details of my positive experience, but be assured that you would receive the very best care here.

In fact, Dr Ma personally calls a few days after surgery or a procedure to consult and ensure that all is well, that I follow post operative procedures and making himself available. Fantastic experience: This was the most heart warming experience I had with Dr Sonick and his assistant. I came into his office with lots of anxiety and concerns not knowing what was wrong with my gums. He put me at ease and after going through a biopsy, I left feeling much better and confident. He called me at 9:00pm that night to check with me on how I was feeling. Few doctors do that now. I highly recommend his services.

Fantastic experience: 20 years ago I underwent this procedure with a different periodontist and it was a nightmare. In spite of that, I was immediately at ease in the office and Dr. Ma’s manner, explanations, and kindness all helped relieve my anxiety. Dr. Ma was wonderful, careful, professional and made sure every step of the way that I was not having any difficulties or pain. After the procedure, I did have quite a bit of pain, which was to be expected but Dr. Ma called me at home, on aSunday, to see how I was doing. He clarified my aftercare instructions and gave me great comfort, telling me the pain should lessen very soon. It did! 72 hours post-procedure, I feel much better and I feel I received excellent care and that the procedure was done with precision.
