Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Dr. Doan since moving back to Sarasota 3 years ago. He is professional, friendly and meticulous. Simply the best! As a much welcomed bonus, his staff is super friendly and accommodating!

Positive experience: I am very disappointed with how this all turned out. They made me buy 2 appliances when I only needed one and they could never get my fitment correct. Extremely disappointed in the response I was given, I never received any follow up at all. These people I am sure are great dentists but for a more specialized case like mine they just didnt have the ability to get these appliances right. I didn't need a sleeping appliance I needed a splint for body movement and exercise as recommended by my therapist who they work with. I dont think they ever fully understood that. I think that this office is friendly, professional and they have a wonderful facility. I personally will not be back here and frankly I feel like I flushed 2 thousand dollars down the toilet. I am sure there will be a response to this post disputing what I have said, so be it. Glad we can part ways amicably.

Negative experience: Can we explain why someone who is here on a visitor visa is actively assisting with somebody’s dental care? Visitor visas do not authorize employment. Why is a patient being filmed during a dental procedure? Was the patient informed that someone who may not be licensed was involved in their care, and did they give clear consent to being recorded? This person is not properly trained or licensed in the U.S. or in Vietnam, where she came from.

Fantastic experience: Very well organized and caring practice. Everyone courteous and respectful. I’m so happy to have been introduced to them as I have just recently moved to Sarasota. Everyone at this practice is a caring and courteous professional. They really do take great care of their patients.

Negative experience: Today 03/09/23 I had the teeth cleaning done at Exceptional Dentistry of Sarasota by Knute Malwin. He did a great job considering that it was tricky to work around brace brackets. I definitely will be back for my next teeth cleaning with him. Thank you for being kind and attentive. It turned out the hygeniest did lousy job both times I went there. I ended up doing deep cleaning at other location to restore the health of my gums.

Fantastic experience: My front tooth crown broke and I swallowed it, days before heading north to see family and friends. When I called, I was given an appointment the following day. Dr. Christine Suarez and her assistants were so kind and attentive. She spent hours working to give me a beautiful new permanent crown that same day. It was wonderful to be able to smile again.

Negative experience: Went there from an with a crown that was irritated. I was recommended that I need a new crown. I went to another dentist and they said absolutely not true and they just cleaned up the crown and it’s been good ever since two years ago I was told about my dentist. That this was common practice in Florida for snowbirds to recommend expensive procedures, knowing that it’s not repeat business

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for years and when you find a good dentist, you stay! Dr. Cole is exceptional- makes you comfortable, funny, and super knowledgeable. The woman that does my teeth cleanings is also an absolute gem- we catch up and my teeth are squeaky clean. They moved offices recently next door so they have more room, easy to get to. Only interesting thing (and it may just be my insurance) is that they charge you upfront, and THEN it goes through insurance, so I get checks in the mail with the amount back.

Negative experience: Total waste of my time, Rachel’s time and the X-ray tech who sat in room. After filling out a book of information and reviewing it all I was advised I would be responsible to pay for any service out of pocket upon service even thou I have insurance. Who has that kind of money? Shouldn’t that be the first thing you explain to a new patient?? Very upset.

Negative experience: I had high hopes for this dental practice, but my experience was unfortunately disappointing. I initially sought treatment for a single crown, but was advised, by Dr Cole, to undergo three crown procedures, despite the other two teeth being in acceptable condition. During the course of treatment, an error necessitated the redo of one crown, leading to a total of four crowns completed over a few months. Post-treatment, my bite was significantly misaligned, causing difficulty in chewing small items like raisins and M&Ms. Despite multiple visits for adjustments, the discomfort persisted. A bite guard was prescibed, but it offered little relief. I finally seek help from other dentist. Although Dr. Doan was efficient in making adjustments, his bedside manner left me feeling uncomfortable and hesitant to seek further assistance. Ultimately, I spent over $8,000 on treatments that, in hindsight, may not have been necessary, and I continue to experience discomfort. Regrettably, I will not be returning to this practice. Pros: Courteous staff, modern equipment. Cons: Expensive, lack of communication, unsatisfactory treatment outcomes.

Negative experience: I recently visited Dr. Doan's office for a crown procedure. While the office staff was courteous and professional, my experience with Dr. Doan made me a little uncomfortable: During my consultation, not only was I attended to by an assistant, but there were also two students observing the procedure, which made me feel self-conscious. You actually have to sign a paper saying that you agree with students watching the procedure. The cost of the ceramic crown, which was fabricated on-site using a CEREC Dental milling machine, was a staggering $2,500. Additionally, the build-up cost was nearly $500. I later discovered that the crown itself was about $1,000 more expensive at this office compared to other local dentists who utilize the same CEREC technology. Feeling uneasy about the high price, I sought a second opinion and found another dentist whose total price was half of what Dr. Doan's office quoted. The final result was fantastic, proving that higher prices do not necessarily equate to better quality. In summary, while the staff at Dr. Doan's office is friendly, the exorbitant costs are not justified. I strongly recommend doing thorough research and comparing prices before committing to any dental procedure. Expensive doesn't always mean better, and you can find excellent care at a more reasonable price elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I came in for tooth reshaping for my 2 front teeth and tooth whitening, I got absolutely everything I wanted! I truly couldn't be happier with my result, Dr.Cole and Rachel took time to really listen to what I wanted and made sure that I got it. Amazing experience and everyone I met in the office was absolutely lovely. I can't say enough positive things about this practice and I wish I'd come in sooner.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Doan is an artist! He made all my teeth look like they belonged together. Even with a crown and some enamel fillers on both front teeth. (Not sure the technical term, but they definitely look like enamel.) You won't regret your choice choosing Exceptional Dentistry!

Positive experience: exceptional dentistry is exceptional. I was there the other day however and the man cleaning my teeth, knute, was wearing an Exceptionsl Dentustry t shirt with a blue and black american flag on it. Regardless of whether I made that agree or disagree with this symbol, I don't think it's appropriate for business employees to wear symbols that might offend or upset some subset of its clients and find it unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: We winter in Florida so wanted to be established here. Friend recommended and I have nothing but praise. Dentist is very nice and my tech is sweet and thorough, I had a lot of plaque and she offered to numb area with a cream so no pain. Everyone there is pleasant and helpful. They bill my out of state insurance and it’s covered. Nothing but high 5’s for them.

Fantastic experience: Dr Doan and his staff are great!! Dr Doan does amazing work and they do what they say they will do and on time. Knute is the best hygienist ever. I drive 3 hours to continue to get care at their office since I moved over 9 years ago. I have recommended many people to their office and no one has ever been disappointed. Dr Doan does everything possible to support your natural teeth which makes things less invasive and less expensive.

Fantastic experience: I was a periodontist for some 40 years. I have high expectations. In this day, few services can be called exceptional, but the dental care I received at Dr. Doan’s office was truly that. Having fractured off my two upper front incisors, although not painful, was very un-cosmetic, as you can imagine. Although very busy, Dr.Doan moved his schedule around in order to accommodate my more emergent need. During the procedure, Dr.Doan paid extreme attention to detail and took extended time to make sure the esthetic result was excellent. I could not be more pleased. Fantastic experience: So far my experience has been outstanding. I first emailed the office with a few questions several months before I made my appointment. Dr Doan responded back personally to my questions. At my first visit the lady at the front desk/reception was very helpful, friendly , and personable . The same with the dental assistant. Dr. Doan is extremely competent and personable . I came to his office because I had some dental work done elsewhere several years ago that was botched. I came away from my visit/ evaluation with Dr. Doan relieved and knowing he is the right person for the job Updated 12-24 It’s been 4 years since Dr. Doan fixed my teeth and I am still beyond happy with him and his work. I was just there this week for X-rays and a checkup and everyone there is an absolute pleasure!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Stephanie Cole and her team are the best dental practice I have ever been to. I have had problems with my teeth for my whole life, so I have been to several different practices. I get very anxious at the dentist and have had my needs ignored previously. Not at exceptional dentistry though! The office itself is warm and inviting. The front desk staff went above and beyond with explaining things for me and the pricing is very fair. Dr. Cole prescribed me something to take before the appointment to be calm, placed a soft pillow under my head and under my knees, covered me in blankets, and even put chapstick on my lips during the procedure. She explained everything she was doing as she was doing it and it was painless. I would also like to point out that she focuses on restoring your natural teeth, versus just pulling the teeth and implanting. There is even a tv on the wall in front of you so that you can pick anything you would like to watch to distract yourself during the visit. Lastly, the view from the window in the exam room is of lush native foliage of the beautiful town of Sarasota. If you are looking for a new general dentist practice, this is the one for you!

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful for Dr. Cole and her team at Exceptional Dentistry. I was referred by my physical therapist for a teeth splint. I had a tight schedule and they were able to accommodate me. Given my molar extractions, and tooth wear, the splint required a high degree of precision. Dr. Cole took considerable care and precision in making the adjustments. Without her expertise in dentistry combined with PRI (tooth sensory as it relates to the neurological system) I would no doubt, have not been able to the make rapid progress in my therapy. Fantastic experience: Dr Doan was amazing! I went in with a cracked tooth that I actually needed an implant for and I told him how concerned I was about leaving with the tooth in my mouth. he spent the extra time to make sure I could while we prepped for an implant. It was a Hail Mary! And I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. He was professional, courteous and generous with his time Bottom line… I left with a tooth in my mouth!!!!
