Negative experience: For ONE root canal it took four hours, with only one brief break to use the bathroom. In the last hour they were pinching my lip, and putting a good deal of pressure on my front teeth by the way they were holding a tool, and when I mentioned it they just said something like, "its only a little longer". It was painful, and they responded to me saying it hurt like I was a kid. They repeatedly did not give me clear information or looped me in on details regarding my own care, and my father was left in the waiting room with no clear timeline. The only reason this wasnt one star is because they were EXTREMELY understanding about my fear of needles, and went out of their way to accommodate me. I am shy, and often have a problem making my issues known, so anyone reading this should know how hard it was to write this review.

Fantastic experience: So far, I love this office, the receptionists, the dental assistants, and the doctor. This is only my first visit, but if this is an indicator of what my dental visits are going to be like from now on, I highly recommend Happy Smiles!

Fantastic experience: After my son's old dentist retired, we were looking for a dental office where my adult son, who has special needs, would feel comfortable. We are so happy with Happy Smiles Dental! Katy at the front desk is amazing and so helpful! She's helped make sure our insurance was accepted and setting up appointments. The rest of the team does an amazing job making my son feel at home. He had a cavity (his first in 26 years) and other dental offices said he'd need to go to the hospital to be put to sleep. The dentist at Happy Smiles was able to get it filled so quickly and no need for sedation. Very pleased with every visit we've had!

Fantastic experience: I was pretty hesitant to get back into the dentist’s office since it had been a long time, and I wasn’t sure if I’d even picked the right place. But my hygienist, Jennifer, completely put me at ease from the moment I sat down. She walked me through every step of the cleaning, explained what she was doing, and had such great bedside manner that I actually enjoyed the experience, something I never thought I’d say! There was zero judgment about how long it had been, just kindness and professionalism. I really appreciated that. I left feeling comfortable, confident, and motivated to come back regularly. Negative experience: I’m so disappointed. I’m new to Maryland and I was excited to start treatment here. I despise going to medical appointments and it feels like I’m being up- sold. I anticipated getting a much needed perio because my gums have been bleeding terribly. But instead it felt like the main concern was setting up and paying for dental implants which would be $20k for only 3 teeth that are in the back, and not even noticeable ( I would go to Turkey for an entire mouth before paying that any day!) they also tried to make me feel like the X-RAYS they took weren’t good enough and I needed to pay $350 for a CT scan before they could “help” I literally just want to get my gums healthy and when I made it known I just want a deep cleaning for now the energy completely shifted.

Fantastic experience: I feel very fortunate for the superior quality of care I’ve received from Dr. H and his team over the course of this past year. Katy at the front desk has gone above and beyond to help me sort through questions about procedures and paperwork. It’s so difficult to find healthcare providers you can trust nowadays, and who put the needs of the patient first, and that’s what you get here. Thank you to Dr. H, his assistant Ezra and the whole team for all that you’ve done for me.

Fantastic experience: I have had only excellent experiences when I visit with Dr. H and his staff. They greet me very warmly and establish a comfort level that makes each visit a relaxed one. Dr. H carefully explains what work needs to be done and suggests options, where applicable. The office has state of the art equipment to give detailed information for analysis. Dr. H has performed dental work on a level of excellence I have never experienced before. I highly recommend this practice.

Dental assistant Ms. Laurie took time to understand my concern very well. Dr. Alviro was very good too. Front desk is also helpful. They took care of the issue at no charge.

Fantastic experience: The doctor i had today was very direct and stern about taking care of my teeth. Most shouldn't care as long as they get paid. He literally said he doesn't want to bother if I won't take care of my teeth. Though I was taken aback by this comment, I realized that he is saying this out of care. He doesn't just care about the money.He cares about his job and taking care of people's teeth. He was letting me know that my mouth was in bad shape. And that I really needed to make a change, and how important it was to do so. I appreciate that kind of approach. The assistance and the front desk was super nice. They told me that I was a beautiful girl and they're excited for me. I'm very ashamed and embarrassed by my teeth. And the lack of care I have given to them due to my past of substance abuse. I didn't receive any dirty looks or any comments. Based on my past and the details I provided. They were just concerned of helping me out now. This made me feel super comfortable. They didn't seem like they were all about the money and getting as much as they can from me.They were willing to work with me and open to hear all that I wanted and what I can afford. Thank you happy smiles for finally helping me feel comfortable.

Fantastic experience: My teeth was very yellow and was also very ugly but after the filling it is better then before

Positive experience: My first service at Happy Smiles was for the extraction of a wisdom tooth near the nerve. The visit had a stressful start as I was nervous about the extraction already, and it wasn’t until I arrived and was sitting in the dental chair that I was advised more extensive work was needed. Evidently there was a mistake and I was not advised beforehand as I should have been. Dr. H acknowledged and took ownership of this. He also took the time to explain the reason for his recommendations, answered my questions and allowed me time to process the information. I was skeptical but was allowed to see the CT scan and read the radiologist report. Dr. H worked with me and his team was very kind and supportive. The work went very well. I am 4 days post extraction. Swelling is almost gone and pain is minimal. I was provided detailed after care instructions and have followed those. This review is a 4 because until the extraction site has healed I cannot fully evaluate and my post-extraction checkup is two weeks away. However, things have gone well so far.

Negative experience: AVOID!! AVOID! AVOID! - I think I have a pretty comprehensive assessment about this place, given that I've done almost every single common treatment here (cleaning, filling, root canal). They have good reviews because they try to guilt you into writing one every time you visit. I visited this dentist about 15 times in the span of a few short months! I went in for a routine cleaning and was told I needed 7 fillings, half of which other dentists will just place on watch given that they're tiny, but this place just wants to try and get money from you in all ways possible! I was also talked into getting a crown for a "particularly large" break in an old filling rather than getting it redone claiming it won't last long. I got the crown and 7 fillings in about 3 visits. My filling were not done properly and I had to go back to get it adjusted. The adjustment was not done properly and I eventually had to go to another dentist to fix it. The tooth with the crown also started to hurt really bad so I went back and turned out the root was hurt in the process and I had to get a root canal! I'm almost pretty sure it was BECAUSE the crown wasn't done appropriately it actually killed my tooth. Within a few month, one of my other tooth that I got a filling also started to hurt and turns out the root was also hurt and I had to get another root canal (at this point I went to another dentist). In addition to all that, I was also talked into getting a night guard and botox to loosen my jaw as I was told I clinch my teeth at night which caused the minor fractures in my tooth. This might be true, but the expensive night guard they sold me was not made properly and the botox did not work. I'm here writing this review 5 years later because after 5 short years, the root canal I got done here needs to be REDONE because it is now infected. It actually started to hurt a little bit about 2 years ago, but the dentist I went to said to wait since the root canal is so new. I been to three other dentist since then and ALL OF THEM said this root canal was done badly. Root canals should generally last over 15 years and so the fact that it started to hurt 3 years in is absolutely ridiculous! I now have to spend another load of money to fix something that probably could've been avoided altogether. It took me a bit to catch on that they're purely just trying to sell you everything possible without ANY ounce of professionalism! PLUS they're also clearly NOT GOOD at their job. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!

Fantastic experience: The staff and dentists are very understanding of someone with anxiety about dental care. They were very thorough and took as much time as necessary.

Positive experience: One of my kids got no fluoride. We were scheduled for 8, 8:40, and 9:20 but they took all 3 at 8am. That affected our schedule for the day. If you are taking all 3 at once, please schedule accordingly so we can plan our day.

Fantastic experience: Genuinely the best dentist I’ve ever been to. I’ve been dealing with dentists that suck for the past year and these people have completely changed my expectations. Dr lim and veronica were extremely attentive and handled my teeth with care and grace. Lisa, katie and estra are super nice and helped me resolve prior dental issues better than anyone I’ve encountered in this industry. I didn’t get their names but the two male doctors also really helped me a bunch. Great great office, great people, cannot recommend enough. Once again Dr lim and Veronica did incredible.

Fantastic experience: I just want to reiterate again that Dr. Lim and Karla did an outstanding job on some dental work for me. I had some cavities and pulp cap work done and I have had zero issues with those teeth since then. The dentistry was very reasonable and affordable to me. All of the staff there are so nice and always make the visit enjoyable. I will definitely be back in the future. I highly recommend them and this dentistry to anyone who reads this.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Happy Smiles Dental exceeded all expectations (especially considering I was skeptical about their glowing reviews - it almost seemed too good to be true). From the ease of initially scheduling online with prompt, clear follow-up to the actual visit itself, I was truly impressed by the quality of customer service and the genuinely friendly atmosphere of the whole office. Even though I take my oral hygiene very seriously, I had some lingering reservations about scheduling an appointment because I haven't been to a dentist since 2019, and was paranoid about how much dental work I would get quoted for; not to mention how stressful it was finding any availability for an appointment in the short-term. After feeling immediately welcomed at the front desk, I was soon brought back by Karla, who made the whole process starting as a new client so smooth, clearly explaining each step while keeping it light-hearted and she had already made it the most enjoyable dentist appointment of my life, before Dr. Lim introduced herself and was so kind as she did her examination. She then proceeded to give me an unexpected but overwhelmingly positive report on my oral health, with helpful, straightforward insights and explanations. I was so surprised I did not leave with a list of treatment options that I would have to figure out how to finance, just an even bigger smile than I walked in with and genuine excitement for my next visit for my 6-month cleaning!

Fantastic experience: 5/15/2025 I came into this office in pain, enough pain that my normal pleasant demeanor was completely and utterly diminished. I had a poor attitude and I was not shy about it. I was a jerk. Dr lin is hands down the best dentist I have ever seen and I have seen many. Dr lin is very kind and there is no doubt she cares about her patients couple that with her unparalleled knowledge in her field I can’t recommend her enough. Next I want to talk about the front desk lady named Katie, she gets the overwhelming joy of dealing with the brunt of every patient that is unhappy. I saw first hand her ability to calm a man in severe pain who was also concerned with the insurance problems he was having. She took that man’s problems and essentially made them disappear. That man was me, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her people and patient advocacy skills. For the first time ever I felt like I had an entire team advocating for me. Negative experience: Was harassed to post a review, staff was nice but I was expecting to get my tooth I was having trouble with fixed that day. The invoice I was given was wrong as well. The tooth number was incorrect and I wasn't given a treatment plan before leaving. Then when I gave my bad review they tried to call me to convince me to change it.

Fantastic experience: Received emergent same-day service here on a Saturday for a dental emergency that was complex and lengthy. The staff was compassionate and professional and stayed after hours to get the work done and put me in a stable condition. This is unheard of at any medical practice in America in my experience. Their concern for my health and well-being was evident throughout the treatment. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Editing this review. I actually don’t think these dentists do a good job and I think they lie to make more money. I went here, was told I had 2 cavities and would need to return to fix them. I went to another dentist (whom my family had seen for many years and is trustworthy) and he told me there were no cavities. Happy smiles dentist gives people $5 Dunkin gift cards if they leave a 5 star review.

I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at ease. Cady and Eileen, the receptionists, were amazing. Fantastic experience: I came across My Happy Smiles Dental strictly by accident. They showed up in my Instagram reels and they kept showing up. Well that was the sign I must have needed. I knew going in the news was not going to be great and after years of putting off procedures I needed I finally went to see them. The practice is great, the techs are great, the office staff at the front greet you with smiles and familiarity. Dr. H is straight to the point, explains things throughly and helps you understand what’s going on. Shally was great in all the prep work and made me laugh and kept me at ease. Katy was super helpful with all the financial ins and out. Surgery is in a month and for once I am okay with what’s coming. Looking forward to my happy smile!

Fantastic experience: Dr Nemes and Yeleta were excellent! I really usually don't like visiting the dentist due to prior bad experiences in other dental practices. However, the care that I've received so far at Happy Smikes Dental on each visit has been A+. From the moment you walk into the office til checkout. Everyone I've encountered has been great.

Fantastic experience: Made a new patient appt and had to get some work done. I was able to get in and out fast. Dr.Lim and Yekta work great together and have a family friendly vibe that makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. I love the personalities they have and share with me as the patient. Love when staff have a personality instead of the robot faces they feel the need to put on for customer service satisfaction. Keep being awesome and personable with your patients. Very satisfied with the care they gave me!

Fantastic experience: I really like Happy Smiles Dental and that's saying a lot for me. I have had bad experiences in the past and it lead me not to go for some time.From the time you come in you are greeted. It's been my experience for the most part that my wait time is less than five minutes before I'm seen. This dentist does it all from a basic cleaning up to implants and botox and so much more. I have worked with Dr. H,Katy,Lisa,Laura,ShallyYekta,Esra,Jordan and I could have missed some. Lisa and Katy have really worked really hard with my insurance and the financial portion of my experience. They both work really hard to get you what you need at a cost you can live with. Dr. H is one of the people who has worked with me and laid out the plans for my dental treatment. He has done my implants which I havent experienced any problems with. Sometimes when he isn't working on my teeth I may see him somewhere around the practice and he always says hi. During some of my visits it was really hard for me to hear what my treatment would cost me but one of the ladies shared her personal experience with me to show me that not everyone has a perfect smile without some help. I won't share her name but she knows who I'm talking about. Some of the other ladies have shared there personal dental journeys that they have been on or are on now as well. To me that really does mean a lot. But all the staff treat me really well. Sometimes I see Jordan at the fromt desk greeting me and then she will do my cleaning as well. I feel at home if there is such a thing all the way to the very end where I pay and or schedule my next appointment and then I'm told bye. Overall this will be my dentist for years to come. Thank you to all the staff for listening to all my stories and personal journey I am really grateful for all you have done and will do. I really appreciate that these ladies and Dr. H they are really open with me and share there personal journeys because I know that's not what they have to do but do it anyway because they truly care. Today 9/4 was my most recent visit and I was Seen by Dr. Nemes he was really nice and even told me about his personal experiences as well. At Happy Smiles Dental nothing is to big or small. Between Laura,Shally,Yekta and Esra they have done my scans or exams of my teeth to assisting the doctors with codes to giving me glasses to protect my eyes to even checking in with me to make sure I'm not in pain and telling me what I can expect. Wow is all I can say and if you need a dentist where you come first this us the place to be on top of it all the quality of work really shows.

Fantastic experience: I had a crown and the team of the dentist and her assistant were really amazing they did a very good job so when you need any dental work please ask for Dr Lim and Yekta her very knowledgeable assistant. They worked really well together and their rapport was amazing. Also the first doctor that did my extraction and bone graft was amazing. They're very knowledgeable with the insurance and also helped me with other options to finance my dental procedures which made me want to fix all my dental problems. Very proffessional, clean smells like a spa and the icing on the cake when am cold they've offered me a blanket, they deserve 10 stars so I'll give the balance here. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Jordan, my hygienist, was very thorough, honest, personable and made the whole experience comfortable. She is also very knowledgeable and educated me in a way that made sense to someone who doesn’t have a background in dentistry. I hold a lot of respect for someone who is honest and cares about the well being of patients and is not recommending things or pressuring things just to get a buck. Jordan and Dr. Avilla are very respectable, patient first, professionals.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I were both seen as new patients and had a great experience. My 9 year old had to have cavities filled and the Dr was so patient and kind with her. He also took care of my cavities, including a broken front tooth that you can't even tell was broken! Great visits and look forward to the next!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I first time at this dental office, and it is very nice and inviting. The staff is very friendly. Dr Kim is very sweet and pleasant, and she explained in great detail things that were very important for the health of my teeth. Yekta is sweet and kind as well, and provided informative information also. I appreciate Jordan, the Hygienist. She was very nice and kind. She also explained to me things that were of importance to me for the well-being of my teeth. The ladies at the front desk were also very nice, even as I watched them engage with other patients.

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr. Nemes and he was kind and informative. I needed a filling, and Yekta assisted. Yekta was SO friendly and helpful! They both made the experience pain and stress free.

Negative experience: This place is out to just get your money. No care at all. I had a chipped tooth and I went here becuase they had a deal of cleaning and x-rays for $150 and I could consult the doctor about getting a filling on the chipped tooth. They did not do a cleaning. Only brushed my teeth and flossed them. They said it was so I could have time to talk to the doctor and if I wanted a cleaning I would have to comeback and pay again for it. When the doctor came the first thing he said is that I need invisalign to work on my teeth. Like are you kidding me. I had braces before and my teeth are fine. I just wanted my chipped tooth to be fixed. They said I had all these cavities and needed root canals and crowns. They estimated my work to be $13K and this was after refusing the invisalign which costs thousands. I felt like I was being takend advantage of. It is not like people can just pull thousands of dollars just like that. So I went to another place that I found online. Turns out I only needed fillings oh and the chipped tooth they polished it for free and didn't even need anything else. My work ended up being $4K. Talk about caring for you but trying to rip you off with these exaurvitant amounts. Do not recomend and will not be going back here.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff. I recently had a procedure here after becoming a new patient and I can't imagine an experience at the dentist being better. They seem to care and are very warm, but also very professional and efficient. I highly recommend this practice. Dr. Nemes and Yekta are especially helpful.

Fantastic experience: 2nd visit to This location, this time I needed a root canal, I was in severe pain, Dr. H. was very professional and courteous, He explained the process in full and it went 100% according to plan. The best thing about it was also that I felt no pain during or after the procedure!! His assistant Yekta was kind and courteous as always. Fantastic experience: Wow. Just wow. This dental office is amazing!! I had the pleasure of having Dr. Nemes, Yekta and Shally. They walked me through my entire procedure, made sure I knew what was happening every step of the way while also making me feel super comfortable. I had a tooth pulled and a filling and it went flawlessly! This Dental office is clean and you’re greeted with warm welcomes from the BEST front desk staff!!! I travel 2 hours to come to this dentist and I will continue to do so. If you’re nervous, or un sure of where to go there is no question that this dental office is top notch. Fantastic experience: Staff personnel are very professional and accommodative, especially Shally. Ease of scheduling/rescheduling appointments to include providing follow up notifications. Dr. H provides the best advice on what is the best course of action to treat your dental needs without any pressure. I am also amazed that they are equipped with high tech dental equipment.
