Fantastic experience: I love Dr. Showalter and Robin. They put me at ease and that is saying a lot. I was terrified to come back to dental after a very bad experience. Thank you Dental Lodge ❤️

Fantastic experience: Dr Showalter is amazing! All the staff is very kind and makes you feel so comfortable ☺️ I am not one to like dentists - I mean..who really just loves it their atmosphere is welcoming and makes the experience enjoyable. I am definitely going back as I know and trust they will take good care of me!

Negative experience: CARELESS BUSNESS... Very nice establishment but this place is too busy to provide a personal experience & so busy that they can't send correct referrals to the right place. INCORRECT PAPERWORK WAS TO OK DENTAL SURGERY CENTER WHO REMOVED 2 COMPLETELY INCORRECT TEETH (that only needed retreated root canals) WITHOUT CONSULTING ME or even double checking before putting me under anesthesia. DON'T TRUST Dental Lodge or OK Dental Surgery Center. At least this receptionist admitted to her error. The so called professionals have lost records, lie to my face about documents I have in hand, & will only speak to me on the phone, never in writing.

Fantastic experience: I called into the office on Friday morning. My front tooth had fallen out. The front desk lady I spoke with was truly amazing and was able to squeeze me in. She was kind compassionate and really cared to get me the help I needed. Every single person I had contact with there was amazing and they were able to get me fixed up. I will forever be using this place for all my future dental needs

Fantastic experience: First dental office I've been to, in my 35 years of living, that did not make me feel like they were judging the condition of my teeth. Everyone, desk receptionist who checked me in and then also gave me pricing, dental assistant who took X-rays, and the dentist herself were all phenomenal. If your looking for a place that won't make you leave in tears, this is the place!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is kind and friendly at the clinic. It was easy to get an appointment, I didn't have to wait a long time to be seen. A dental plan was made for me and they explained it thoroughly . I was well taken care of.

Fantastic experience: My doctor and his assistant are very friendly and efficient. The only complaint I would ever have are their business hours. I work and can't leave my job until 4 p.m. That's when they close. So to go to the dentist, I have to take a day off, find a substitute teacher when there is currently few substitute teacher available, then I have to have plans for the substitute teacher and have all worksheets copied before I can be absent -- believe me, I don't even take sick days or personal leave days for those reasons. Since every doctor in Norman have 8-4 hours, it's impossible to get to a doctor or dentist . Would it be too difficult to have one day a week that stays open until 7 pm?

Fantastic experience: I can't give this office a higher rating. Pain is not an option at this practice. Dr Showalter and Robin make certain at every visit the work area is anestitized and confirm with me before starting. They really care about the patient's comfort. You can easily see all staff enjoy their craft & with whom they work. Thank you & all the staff for all you do!

Fantastic experience: Love this practice! I have been coming here since 2016 I believe or maybe 2017 but I have never had a bad experience. Everyone in the practice is very nice and respectful and they know what they are doing and it seems like the staff works very well together. I love Dr. Smith and he really cares and takes care of his patients!

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but kind things to say. I have severe anxiety about going to the dentist. I avoided it for years due to this but I couldn’t put it off anymore. The staff were kind, understanding, and so helpful. Everything is clean and staff are very professional! They were able to take care of my immediate needs and get me scheduled for future work. I will be switching the rest of my family to this dental office. They were amazing! Ashley, the dental assistant was so incredibly kind.

Negative experience: I would prefer another dentist. Someone that is more experienced with denture wearers and dentures.

Negative experience: Incredibly expensive and made my situation worse. I don't even know where to start. The bridge I got is incredibly uncomfortable and very ugly in my mouth. I'm even more self-conscious to smile now than I was before. My daughter who is 13 has a missing bottom tooth that they can't seem to fix. Seems like it should have been simple but everything they put in her mouth falls out and either gets swallowed or lost and they charge me every time. Their prosthetics are cheaply made and put quality. For the amount of money they charge I expect higher quality. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing dentist office. I went in to have a consultation which resulted in me having to have some work done. I will say I was nervous because of some previous bad experiences as a teenager. But I followed through with the first step of treatment and Dr. Esswein was absolutely amazing. He had me in and out in an hour and I have absolutely no pain now. Highly recommend Dental Lodge to anyone needing a great dentist office. They have helped me take the first step in overcoming my fear of dentistry and for that I am forever grateful.

Negative experience: Everyone I spoke to was super friendly. I went in to get a quote on two root canals because my previous dentist wrote me up for $2500 and I thought that was alot. I guess that was a good price though because this location quoted me $4400 for the exact same procedure. I can't say they're terrible because I've only gone once but I can say I definitely feel like they're in it for as much money as possible.

Fantastic experience: May 2025. They've been my dentist since 2023. At age 75 I am so happy to still have my own teeth. Today's appointment was quick and easy.

Negative experience: Heather is amazing and love seeing her. She is gentle and kind. The bad part is you sit waiting for 20-30 minutes to see the dentist and may or may not get to. This is the second time this has happened. Ended up getting to see a new dentist as my regular was “unavailable”. Check in and cleaning took 20 minutes. Time waiting in chair for dentist-30 minutes for a 3 minute exam. Place has gone downhill. Was not like this 2-3 years ago.

Fantastic experience: Post braces, a space developed. Super annoying considering the time and $$$ spent. Dr Smith and Ms Cara spent the last 6-8 weeks pulling strings and trying a few options to close said space without having to go back to braces again. Magic was preformed and I’m now back to my perfect smile!! Thank you both so much for the time and effort!

Fantastic experience: This is an update from the first review. Seriously, Dr Smith is awesome! When he gives shots for numbing, I don't even feel when the needle breaks the skin. He always makes sure you are comfortable, and just so very nice and easy to talk to. He really does actually care about his patients. He goes above and beyond what you expect. And all of the dental assistants that have assisted him while I've been there are also very nice. I still highly recommend Dr Smith here. (Added 1-7-2025) Best dental place I've been to! Dr. Smith and his staff are wonderful. They explain everything to you. They tell you of all your options and what course of actions there are to take. They may recommend which one they would do if there are multiple, bit they leave it up to you. The work with you on payment if you need. They always make sure I am comfortable; and they are very personable. I highly recommend Dr. Smith.

Fantastic experience: I always look forward to my cleanings here! The staff is incredibly friendly and make every visit a pleasant experience. They’re gentle, efficient, and consistently on schedule. Their knowledge is impressive, and they treat you like family, even remembering the little details about you. The customer service is exceptional, and it’s clear they truly care. In addition to everything else, they also took the time to work with my 1-year-old as he begins his dental visits.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience!! When we first arrived, my son was thrilled to see an arcade game to play while we waited. My first child was called almost immediately and then we had a short wait and they called my other 2 children at the same time. The staff were all very friendly and great with kids. Overall, our experience was superb!

Positive experience: The staff was very friendly. It took about 15 minutes for X-rays but had to wait an hour before the dentist came in to check my teeth.

Negative experience: Front desk was super friendly! I typically see Dr.Nabors who I love, but at my appointment I found out he no longer works there so I saw Dr.Showalter. I felt has though she had terrible bedside manner. She made me feel so uncomfortable by blurting out that I might have tongue cancer. Now I appreciate the concern but there is definitely a way to go about telling a patient that type of news and the way she did it was not right. Not to mention she said she was going to refer me out to have the “cancer” checked and that never happened. I left this appointment basically in tears feeling hopeless. She should really work on how she interacts with patients because it’s honestly terrible. I never leave reviews but I felt like I needed to share my experience and let others know.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with everyone who has been helping me! Especially the Doc he is a God send and the Gals that work there are very delightful & you can tell they love working there they are like a big close family. I had been going to one Dentist for over 30 years in California and we moved here in 2021 of Christmas and found y’all and I've gotten better service and results than I had back in California. I feel very comfortable going to this Dentist! Thank you so much for helping me.

Negative experience: Disabled vet here who was dismissed as a patient after this establishment told me the wrong information then proceeded to blame the situation on me. I was told I was getting 2 wisdom teeth removed along with a root canal all at the same time for 1 easy recovery. Only after my wisdom teeth were removed did I learn they set it up for two appointments without notifying me. So I got 2 good teeth removed while they left the bad one. I then called while obviously aggravated at the situation because they were unable to do their job correctly. I was then told that I was too “hostile” and was dismissed as a patient.

Fantastic experience: I am one that does not like to go to the dentist because of prior years of bad experiences, but I love going to the Dental Lodge because the staff is so polite and very nice people. I had a root canal and a crown replaced by Dr. Smith, which is one of the most kindest dentist that truly cares about his patients. I was stressing over the visit today, but Dr.Smith and his assistant made me feel very comfortable and being totally honest, I didn't feel any pain during my procedures which lasted 3 hours. I would recommend them to anyone who has a fear of Dental procedures because they are awesome and they truly care about you. From a very Happy customer!

Fantastic experience: I called as first patient and explained why I needed in. The lady on the phone was very caring and listened. She called back the next day and was able to schedule an appointment that next day. I went and had my X-rays and was scheduled 2 weeks later to have teeth removed. The Doctor did great.
