Fantastic experience: I can honestly say this practice changed the way I feel about going to the dentist!!!!! For years, I struggled with serious dental anxiety and avoided appointments out of pure fear. From the moment I walked in, the staff was so kind, patient, and understanding. They never rushed me and explained every step in a way that made me feel in control instead of feeling overwhelmed. What made the biggest difference, though, was their emotional support dog, Meadow! Having that sweet pup by my side during treatment instantly calmed me and helped me focus on something other than my nerves. It’s such a thoughtful touch that shows how much they truly care about their patients’ comfort and well-being. I never thought I’d say this, but I actually look forward to my appointments now. If you have dental phobia or just want a caring, supportive environment, this is the place to go. They didn’t just treat my teeth—they helped me overcome years of fear.

Fantastic experience: Well when walking in I have never been greeted the way I was..you would have thought I enter a Hollywood spa..wow..have having bad experiences in the past..I have anxiety I had a small breakdown but they were awsome about it and god bless lil miss Meadow..she knew and it totally made me more comfortable never in my life would I think I would say this but I want them to be my forever dentistry those ladies he has working for him..they are wonderful..my goodness..Dr Freebird is probably the only dentist I will ever go to..you have to meet him he made so at ease..love the way he is..I can't say enough but looking forward to my next appointment..

Fantastic experience: WONDERFUL experience from my first phone call till the time I left their office!! The entire staff makes you feel like you’re the most important person from beginning to end. They were extremely kind, patient and understanding from beginning to end. From the morning of text I received asking if there was anything they could do to make my visit more comfortable (I’m extremely anxious about dentists) to the office tour, meeting Dr. Friberg and all the staff (before my actual appointment), the hug Madison gave me when I got nervous (and cried ‍♀️) AND they have a therapy dog who was absolutely amazing and sat with me the entire appointment…..it was truly the BEST experience I’ve had!!! I never felt judged for my anxiety or fears. I can not speak highly enough about this office! 1000% recommend!!!

Then here comes the sweetest dog I have ever seen that shows you so much love just like the girls that work there do. I scheduled with a bad toothache and did not have to wait long to get a appointment. Since then I had a crown put in that was done quickly and with no pain. I'm sold on this dental practice. The bonus...if you are a dog lover, they have a full time therapy dog. How can you go wrong???

Fantastic experience: I honestly love this place and its people. It’s clean, there’s lots of natural light and windows and it doesn’t feel overly medical or sterile/cold. Every single member of staff is so kind and informative and have even become friends over the years. I’ve never had a tech explain what she was doing/what certain things mean (for example, counting 1s and 2s for each tooth and I also learned I have something called tori mandibulari LOL) but Tracy always explains the process, shares knowledge/ tips and now I just love to go to cleanings so we can chat. There is a cute office golden retriever Meadow who will lay on your lap if you require a snug. When I had different insurance and they stopped taking it, they were SO helpful in helping me figure out the reimbursement process (yes this place is worth paying out of pocket for). I just signed up for Invisalign with them and I trust Dr.Friberg’s expert opinion wholeheartedly and appreciate that he made sure to listen to all my questions and talk through every detail with me, even though it took me a year to finally do it. I’ll probably be a patient at Thrive forever because while the office is cozy and my teeth feel totally clean and tended to after every visit, it’s really the people that make this place so wonderful.

Negative experience: The front desk girls are absolutely wonderful! However both my husband and I got a couple fillings done and it’s been awful. We were sore for a few weeks after having it done and now, after a few months we are still in so much pain. We can’t bite our food without having shooting pain in the teeth where we had cavities filled. It is also excruciating to eat or drink anything cold. We have never had issues with this until after coming here for dental work. Do not recommend. So frustrated and upset with our experience. I originally wasn’t going to review, but I went out for ice cream with my kids to celebrate my eldest sons birthday and was devastated when the fun of it was taken away by the amount of pain I was in. I couldn’t not say anything after that.

Fantastic experience: Great visit again ! Cleanings are not great for me - but this one was okay and by that I mean, I did not have to pre-medicate to get it done. Every time I go to this office, I feel more comfortable. Great job everybody.

Fantastic experience: The last time I enjoyed going to a dentist was when I was 7 and left with a treat out of the treasure box. I have had more than one reason to develop a phobia of the dentist. I landed somewhere that felt very corporate and totally impersonal. I’m not sure exactly what made me call Thrive during my search for something different but I am so thankful I did! Just one moment on the phone with their receptionist, Madison, and I felt like I had a new friend. She is so kind. I’ve never had a dentist offer me water, tea or ask what I’d like to watch before my visit. It’s like you’re visiting a spa. I had to get a previous issue repaired and I was incredibly nervous. My hygienist Tracy is wonderful and gentle. Dr. Friberg is relaxed and comforting and the procedure I had was the easiest dental “work” I've ever had. Dr. Friberg and Caleigh are handling my alignment with Invisalign and the attention to detail makes me feel the result will be the best possible outcome. The icing on top is a visit from their sweet pup Meadow! I’m one of those people who can finally say I truly love my dentist office! I switched my family over to Thrive and I would recommend them to anyone!

Fantastic experience: I’m had a wonderful visit today with Thrive Family Dentistry. One week ago, one of my gingival fillings fell out. Today, Caleigh and Dr Friberg fixed it and, as usual, did a great job! Apparently, that fallen filling was one placed by another dentist prior to my recent relocation to Wilmington and they happily fixed it for me. I so thankful we have such a fantastic dental office available to us in the Wilmington area! This was just another 5-Star visit!

Fantastic experience: My experience with our exam and treatment planning appointment was actively pleasant and thorough. The entire staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and that was reflected directly to my comfort and care. When I returned to start the work I was similarly impressed. Dr Friberg kept me informed and comfortable as he did 3 crowns. The crowns are made in the office so no temporary or coming back. It was a great experience.

The receptionist always greets me with a warm smile, setting the tone for a great visit. And Meadow is the best - she's such a sweetie and brings a playful vibe to the office. Dr.Friberg and his staff all treat you so well, you will leave feeling like you have been to a resort. You are greeted with a beverage and a comfortable place to relax during your minimal waiting time. During this near perfect experience you will meet a very knowledgeable, friendly and experienced staff. When it comes to Dr Friberg himself, he will treat you with the utmost kindness and respect and you will receive the most up to the minute dental technology. He is very knowledgeable and skilled, personable and concerned about his patients’ care. The entire staff is very professional. Thrive Family Dental is by far the best in my experience!

Fantastic experience: Let me start by saying I’m scared of going to the dentist and usually require anxiety medication prior to stepping in the door. My first appt I was greeted by a smiling face who knew my name and then gave me a tour of the office. Tracey, my hygienist, was patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Dr. Friberg came in and sat down and was so kind to me, it made me cry. I came back for fillings and had 3 done and out of the office in 45 minutes. He paused while doing the fillings to ask me questions and give me time to answer and treated me like a human. Alaris and him work so fluent with each other and can joke and have conversation with each other while you’re in the chair. Then last, but of course not least, Meadow. Dr. Friberg has a trained service dog at the office that lays in your lap during your exam, numbing, and fillings. Between the overall atmosphere of the office & Meadow, I didn’t require any anxiety medication and don’t dread going back. I’m so happy I found this office.

Fantastic experience: Well, it's the dread Dentist, so what's to say? Only that Dr. Friberg, his staff, a beautiful facility, and 21st century technologies make trips to the dentist much less onerous than it might be. I could roll off a list of superlatives, beginning with Dr. Friberg's dentistry skill, his relaxed conversation and concern, his staff's excellence and cordiality, and more. And then there's pretty Meadow, the Greeting Dog, who stops by for a hello and then continues her rounds. My wife and I feel fortunate to have found Thrive Family Dentistry a few years ago, and it's an easy recommendation for friends who are less than satisfied with their current dentist.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this office! The staff are so so kind and welcoming, and Dr. Friberg is wonderful. I was in an accident and was concerned about injuries in my mouth, and Dr. Friberg listened to my concerns with such compassion and I did not feel rushed at all. Often times in the medical field I have encountered doctors that treat you like they don’t have the time to give you the attention and care that is truly needed, but Dr. Friberg was the exact opposite. Not to mention, if you’re anxious when it comes to going to the dentist, they have a sweet pup named Meadow that can come give you a visit to ease your nerves. This office was great in every way - 11/10!

I went in today at 1:00 PM with a front tooth that was 40% chipped and walked out at 3:15 PM with a permanent crown. The procedure was fast and efficient, and the customer service was exceptional. Everyone was so kind and friendly from the second I walked into the office, and the entire staff treated me respectfully and professionally. AND they have Meadow, the beautiful therapy dog! Fantastic experience: I would like to share some information concerning the Office of Thrive Dental in Wilmington, NC. I am 72 years old and have had many Dentists; but none of them and their Staff can “hold a candle” to Dr. Friberg and the Staff of Thrive Family Dental! Each employee is outstanding and so genuinely caring and efficient. Dr. Friberg listens intently, does beautiful work, and at fair prices. It is a pleasure to have a Doctor and Staff that I enjoy, trust, and highly recommend! I needed an old crown replaced from many years ago and Dr. Friberg was able to remove it and replace it on the same day in his office. That just amazes me. It was perfect! I really am grateful for the fine care I have received at Thrive Family Dental!

Fantastic experience: I woke up this morning with a toothache that was so excruciating I couldn't even think straight. After calling a couple of places I called Thrive and the lady that answered the phone had the most caring voice. The questions she asked made me feel like they truly wanted to help me. I called at 1:45 and I was able to be seen at 2:30. Everyone in the office was caring and had a smile on their face. I knew that I was in good hands from the moment I sat in the dentist chair. They explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. They have all the right boxes checked off when it comes to making sure that their patients are comfortable. I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel this morning but Thrive helped me and I am now comfortable and I was able to come to work for my shift. I will now be a forever patient with Thrive.

Fantastic experience: Just book your appointment and leave your fear at home. 10/10 I simply cannot recommend Dr. Friberg and his team enough. I have avoided the dentist out of fear for longer than I care to admit. I mean…I genuinely cried while getting X-rays due to fearing the unknown. However, upon entering the office I was met with the KINDEST, most genuine, calming individuals at the front desk. After my initial visit I was met with the unfortunate news that I did need intervention over a few appointments which absolutely terrified me. During intake I was provided a comfort menu where I could select many things including noise cancelling headphones, a blanket, AND EVEN A DOG. Meadow laid on me during a few appointments and ensured I was focusing on petting her, just as she is trained to do. Dr. Friberg’s technique and skill with the numbing is impeccable!! SERIOUSLY. This is the scariest part of dentistry to me but he is absolutely world class at making this as efficient & painless as possible. After the first session of fillings I was no longer scared to return, so much so that while heading to my next appointment I thought I was forgetting something at home, but it was just my fear! The front desk team, assistants, and hygienists are each so wonderful and add to the overall comfort at Thrive, you will actually feel so cared for. I truly value that! They have financing options and a wonderful dental plan to keep you on track if you don’t have dental insurance. I moved 3 hours away and I will absolutely be driving back for my future cleanings. I am so grateful to have found Thrive, not only do I have my dental health, I have claimed my power back over something that truly terrified me.

Fantastic experience: I was extremely nervous and don’t particularly enjoy going to the dentist. My entire procedure was absolutely pain-free. Even the Novacaine went in smooth and painless. Fantastic experience: I fell and broke my front tooth on a Friday afternoon. Although Dr. Frieberg was out of state, he told my husband he could assess the situation on Monday morning. Not only did he do so, but he worked me into his schedule and fitted me with a temporary bridge. His staff is empathetic and made sure I was ncomfortable throughout the process.

Not only did they take excellent care of my mom as her guardian they took excellent care of me also. Fantastic experience: Thrive family dental is by far the best dentist office I have ever been to. The staff is kind and professional and very knowledgeable about all things dental (as they should be). Dr. Friberg does a great job at explaining all aspects of my dental care while outlining all my options. He goes in depth about what’s wrong and what all my options are to fix it. He does not pressure you to make any big, and expensive decisions and makes you fell like you have all the power when it comes you your dental care. There rest of the staff are fantastic and make it a point to know things about you that you would never expect them to remember. They are very personable and make you feel so comfortable even when you are nervous. Finally there is an amazing staff member named Meadow who goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. She always makes sure to find you during your appointment to make you feel welcomed and loved. Overall the atmosphere at Thrive is fantastic and I would highly recommend that anyone looking for a dentist come here :)

Fantastic experience: Was pleasantly impressed with the staff and more importantly the dentist!! I had my teeth cleaned AND decided to Bleach them! Two shades whiter and I Smile Bigger and more often!! A chipped tooth was repaired and a little cavity that was taken care of…. no numbing and 20 minutes later I was all done and going on with my day…. loving to Smile more is the Best and getting compliments on how white my teeth are Almost brings me to tears with Happiness!!! Positive experience: The DDS and support dog get 5 stars but the emergency after-hours gets 3 stars and office management garnish 3 stars.I was never told me that they no longer participated with my dental insurance carrier, then I was referred to an 'out of network endodontist,' for a very costly procedure. I was too trusting assuming that I was in network, being referred an in network specialist. Then the office manager hounded me for payment and even claimed that she told me my plan was no longer accepted (l am retired and on a budget. I am hyper aware of info that will affect my pocketbook). She did ask how I was feeling though. Why? Because when I called for emergency care, I had to wait 5 days for my appt and the office manager(who provided emergency back up triage) did not get my antibiotic prescription to the pharmacy successfully , she said she left a message on the answering machine but pharmacy double checked and no message was found. After 24 hours and a high fever and lots of worry (I was post right knee replacement surgery and infections are high risk), I received antibiotic treatment. So...not going back but will miss the dog and decent dental services.

It is a comfortable setting with great background music and a loving comfort animal “Meadow” to make even the most apprehensive patient feel at ease. I’m so happy to have recommended several patients to this practice who always come back to me to tell me what a great office and wonderful staff they have.
