I had an extraction and implant and requested full sedation, which was also great and somewhat less expensive than elsewhere since Dr. Martin is qualified to give sedation himself. I had never had an extraction, and when later I called twice with worries, the staff was helpful - and Dr. Martin had me come in (twice - no charge) and reassured me everything looked fine. It was not a horrible experience at all! His manner is SO NICE! Thank you, Dr. Martin and staff, for a relatively easy experience.

Fantastic experience: December 2025 . . . another visit! Again, a check-up and consultation. Same wonderful service and friendly, professional people from staff members to the doctor. January 2023 . . . My first visit (a consultation). I found everyone to be skilled, professional and friendly. They took time to answer my questions and explained the process from tooth extraction to implant. On my second visit, I actually had the tooth extracted. They were wonderful! Efficient and caring. The professionals explained step by step what was happening, assisted me after the procedure, and followed up the next morning. My final visit the tooth area was prepped for the crown/tooth. Again, a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this group.

Fantastic experience: I had some questions regarding the comfort of OF&IS's implant work on my tooth 15 since the crown was installed. OF&IS is has a friendly and nice staff. The doctors and support staff are efficient and all has gone well.

Fantastic experience: My 2nd experience with Dr. Martin and team went as well as the first. My expectations were high. I would highly recommend this practice for many reasons: 1) thoughtful, patient, attentive care, 2) coordination with my periodontist prior and after my oral surgery 3) responsiveness to questions with thorough explanations 4) making me feel as comfortable as possible during and following surgery 5) Dr Martin's wonderful "bedside" manner 6) next day follow-up to make sure I was doing OK. I believe that many of my comments should be routine practices, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised. But I feel that Dr. Martin and his team took the extra steps to help me through major surgery. And the journey won't be over for many months. Thanks to all.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Thompson and his team were amazing!!! I went in to get a wisdom tooth removed and they made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process and walked me through everything. They had someone to go over the finances with me and made sure I understood everything. Dr. Thompson was so upbeat and knew how to make me laugh while going over the procedure to make me feel more at ease. I have a big fear of the dentist and oral surgeons, so his friendly demeanor really helped! The only small issue I had was at the reception desk. I came in with my mom and brother, and we waited right in front of the receptionist for a while before being acknowledged even though they saw us come in. The receptionist wasn’t necessarily rude, but she didn’t seem attentive and warm like everyone else there. It put a bad taste in my mouth at first, especially because I was already nervous. But the moment I was brought in the back, everyone was absolutely wonderful! Definitely a very professional environment and accommodating. I will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic experience: I went for my initial consultation and received exceptional service. I wasn’t even finished completing paperwork, yet I was invited to get my x-rays and complete paperwork afterward. After that portion was finished, a staff member informed me the doctor was delayed due to treating a “dental emergency,” and apologized profusely for the delay. Shortly afterward, a staff member brought me to an exam room, again, apologizing for the delay and making sure I was comfortable. After a rather short amount of time, another assistant came in to apologize about the delay and provide me a brochure about my procedure and loaded my xray. I waited a little bit more, and the oral surgeon came to talk with me about my procedure, accompanied by two assistants who stood behind me. I felt like I had a team taking care of me!. At the end of the discussion, I met with the incredibly pleasant and kind staff member who shared the financial aspects of the procedure. As we finished, she apologized again for the long wait and said, “Let me get you a Starbuck’s gift card for the inconvenience.” I explained it wasn’t that long, and she replied, “Well, the gift card isn’t much, yet we want to show our appreciation for your patience." I was awed. While I can’t say I’m glad to be oral surgery; I can say that I’m glad very glad to be doing it in the care of Dr. Martin and the staff at Oral Facial and Implant Specialists.!

Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with this office and staff! Staff members were very friendly, Amanda and Dr. Thompson did a great job of keeping me informed about what was being done during the procedure and Anita was very thorough in providing my aftercare instructions.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Thompson and staff were absolutely phenomenal. From the initial consultation, meeting with the financial specialist, and then on the day of extraction for our son, everything was seamless. Today we walked into the office and were greeted so kindly and then taken back to take care of any financial obligation. At that time I was told I would get our receipt on the way out. Our son was then called back into the dental suite and we were greeted by an assistant who took care of initial consent paperwork, confirming pharmacy, and was so helpful with keeping our son calm as he was nervous. A hygienist came in and greeted us and shortly after Dr. Thompson came in and talked with our son, told him what to expect and that he’d be fine. Dr. Thompson had such a caring bedside manner and was extremely supportive and compassionate. I left the room and was walked back to the front lobby and was told I would be made aware when our son was done and in recovery. I went back and our son was in good hands and taken care of well. Dr. Thompson came in and explained how the wisdom teeth extractions went and was given aftercare instructions. From that point we were visited by hygienists who looked over our son until our son was ready to be released. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Thompson’s office and would just love to highly recommend his practice. I’m so pleased as a parent. Thank you Dr. Thompson and thanks to your entire staff.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience having a Wisdom tooth extracted. Yes it sounds crazy, but the Doctor and staff are completely professional and to the point for the task at hand. Fantastic experience: Everyone at Oral Facial & Implant Specialists seem to love each other and their jobs. In June, Dr. Martin placed an implant in my mouth at no cost to replace the one that came out. I’m an old lady with shrinking bones. Dr. Martin fortified the area with more bone. And it worked!! Now I get to have teeth!! Yeah!!! When leaving, the staff was very cordial and said they hoped I would be back if I needed another implant. I DEFINITELY WILL! (Secretly hoping that won’t be necessary.)

And Dr. Martin is amazing and did really good surgery. Everybody is super friendly and considerate. Also, their office is spotless. And they helped me even though I didn't insurance. Fantastic experience: Almost a year ago, I had to start the journey of getting an implant due to a chipped tooth I could not get a crown on. I was recommended Dr. Martin by my local dentist's office. Him and his team have super helpful every step of the way. From all the necessary information about the procedures to billing to providing updated x-rays to my dentist. This team has been amazing the whole way through and would absolutely recommend these guys for any future dental procedures.

Fantastic experience: Our regular DDS recommended us to Dr. Stephen Martin for surgery . On our first consultation we felt we were in the right place with experienced front desk staffs to technicians and Nurses. Finally got to meet Dr. Martin, a young energetic man, who after looking at my mouth X-rays and based on my DDS recommendation, he explained in detailed about my issues, how he will work through to see from start to end everything goes smoothly. From first consultation till the day of surgery, which was today (7/8/25) his back office staffs were in touch with us to do the insurance paper work and also contacted our Insurance and Pathologist’s office. Their cooperation gave us peace of mind. I would recommend my friends and family. Good job Dr Martin and all the staffs.

Positive experience: I was disappointed that the surgical assistant engaged in meaningless chitchat during my entire surgical procedure. I would have preferred to hear what the dentist was seeing and doing in my open mouth since I obviously couldn’t see anything for myself and found the sound of crunching to remove my tooth to be anxiety producing.

I was promptly seen and prepped by Jake who explained the procedure I was about to experience. Then Dr. Martin again reviewed it prior to beginning. We even discussed an unrelated issue and we discussed the options for that as well. He genuinely cares and explained all I needed to know thoroughly. After my procedure, Jake made sure I was good, and reviewed post procedure care. Both of the billing specialists were very helpful in both the current and proposed procedures. Negative experience: I went in to get a tooth pulled, so I’m obviously not in a good mood and am nervous. Everyone talks to you like they say the same thing over and over every day, and there is zero personality, and/or consideration for your well-being. If you are used to a “family dentistry” then this is the exact opposite.

As someone who dislikes dental visits, I can’t express enough how much I appreciated Dr. Martin. During the procedure itself, both he and his assistant continued to check in with me and offer reassurance, which made all the difference. Having worked in the medical field for over 15 years from medical assistant up to practice manager, I was so impressed to witness how respectfully and kindly Dr Martin and his assistant treated one another. Hearing “please” and “thank you” exchanged throughout the procedure may seem small, but it speaks volumes about the culture of care they’ve created — and it’s sadly rare in many clinical settings. I recently went through, what to me felt complex, dental implant process on my front teeth, which included an extraction, bone grafts, months of healing, and today—finally—the placement of the implant with a temporary tooth. From start to finish, the care I received was nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Martin is incredibly skilled and professional—truly a gifted oral surgeon. I had seen three other oral surgeons before finding him, and none of them were willing to take on my case. Apparently, front-tooth implants are more complex and not something every surgeon wants to attempt. I am so grateful that I found this office because the results are absolutely stunning. Jake, the dental assistant, was one of the funniest, kindest and most calming people I’ve ever met. I was extremely nervous the day of the procedure—adrenaline was rushing through my body, and I was literally shaking. At one point, a woman I didn’t catch the name of kindly held my hand, and that simple act made a world of difference. The compassion and care from everyone there was just incredible. Although the procedure itself was painless, the emotional journey was huge for me. And now, looking in the mirror and seeing the result, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Fantastic experience: Honestly was nervous and worried before the procedure but it was extremely quick, so far I’m in day one of recovery and so far I’ve had extremely minimal pain and discomfort. Not sure what days 2 and 3 will look like but so far I very highly comfortable recommending them!

Since I had to travel out of the country it became an emergency and Oral Facial and Implant Specialists were able to accommodate me and address my need immediately. Fantastic experience: Trying to find a doctor that specializes in sinus lifts were few and far between when searching for someone in our network. Since my endodontist doesn't do sinus lifts, I had to find someone who does, before my procedure with him. I was first seen for a consultation with Dr. John Travis Thompson. My husband and I were impressed with Dr. Thompson. He was upbeat and positive. We were surprised to hear that Dr. Thompson's recommendation to do a procedure was less invasive that what I had originally been advised to have. We were so impressed with Dr. Thompson that I decided to have him do my dental implant as well. I am sure it will go well and will update this review if everything is not as expected. Update, Two Months Later…I went in for my scheduled dental implant which originally involved a sinus lift and bone graft. Dr. Thompson ordered an X-ray which showed that I no longer required a sinus lift or a bone graft. I am so glad to know that I wasn’t going to be charged for something that was unnecessary. . .

Fantastic experience: This is based on my experience as a new patient coming in for an extraction and consultation for implant. From my first phone call to make the appointment to checking out on day of services, I had a great experience. All administrative staff is pleasant and professional. Amanda gave good information all along the clinical experience and sent me home with what I needed for my recovery. Dr. Thompson talked through the whole process while he removed my bridge and extracted a molar and greatly reduced my anxiety. His plan for the implant made sense. I came away feeling that he would provide what I needed and nothing unnecessary. I look forward to being cared for by him and his staff in future.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a tooth extraction at this office, and overall, it was a great experience. The process took a few weeks from my initial consultation to the actual appointment due to their busy schedule. They do offer a waitlist option, but unfortunately, it didn’t align with my availability. On the day of my appointment, everything went smoothly. The entire procedure with Dr. Martin, from check-in to completion, was under an hour, and I experienced little to no pain. The staff was professional and efficient, making the experience as comfortable as possible. I highly recommend this office for their quality care and expertise.

Fantastic experience: Brought my teen in to have wisdom teeth extracted. Entire experience from start to finish was amazing. Very easy to schedule the appointment, didnt have to wait weeks to be seen. Extractions were painfree with local anesthetic. We were in and out in less than an hour. Fantastic experience: Totally impressed! Dr. Martin was professional and extremely personable. I would recommend this practice to everyone. PS I had a tooth removal and implant and all I needed was a few Advil right after. 6 days out and never had to take more. No pain.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had two wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Thompson. He and his staff were great at making me feel at ease about the procedures. I have two more that will more than likely need to be removed in the near future and I plan to have him do those as well.

Fantastic experience: I had a molar extracted. The entire staff was professional and welcoming. The facility is very modern. Dr Thompson was friendly, and efficient. The extraction was fast and most importantly, Painless!

Positive experience: My 16 year old son had his wisdom teeth removed and while I do believe that Dr. Thompson did a good job with that, I felt like the overall office has a culture to get patients in and out as quickly as possible to get the next person. Two different receptionists asked me what our preferred pharmacy was and my sons medication was still sent to the wrong pharmacy, suggesting to me that neither person listened to my whole answer. I said the pharmacy name, the town and the intersection. His meds were sent to a pharmacy 20 minutes each way from my house, instead of the one I requested which is 5 minutes away. Additionally, my son had never been under anesthetic before and he asked me to record his reaction in the recovery room. He stated this to myself and my husband prior to the procedure, stated this again in the surgery room to a nurse while I was present and he says that he said it again right before the procedure started. Even so, some other nurse kept scolding me claiming that I was violating HIPAA laws. It just so happens that my husband is a HIPAA attorney, and this is not a violation as I had express consent and we were in a private room. Before it is asked, no I did not and do not intend to post any of these on social media, I did not even share them with my husband and daughter until my son was alert enough to give his permission to show them. We were then hustled out a back door (I believe) before my son was ready to be on his feet because they needed to turn over the room.

Fantastic experience: All the staff were so helpful and nice and walked me through the whole process of removing my wisdom tooth. Dr. Thompson is the best dentist I’ve ever been too.

Negative experience: We made an appointment months out and arrived 20 minutes early just to be made to wait over a half an hour after our appointment time to get shown to a room. Once in the room we were made to wait another 15/20 minutes for our consultation where the doctor barely looked at the teeth x-rays. He automatically assumed we needed to get them out and started explaining the procedure when I was told it was going to be a consultation to get them out. When asked why I needed to get them out he looked confused. I also asked if I could wait longer before getting them out and he said no then when I said I would then need to get them done at a different doctor he changed his mind and said I could wait a year before getting them out and probably be fine so that I could go there. It seemed just like an annoying money grab and there was absolutely no point to the consultation so it was such a rip off. I will not be getting my wisdom teeth out there.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to them by my dentist due to an infected tooth which they removed in mid November about 9 days before Thanksgiving. Having a tooth extracted isn't fun. This place was fantastic. The entire process was quick and painless. I was in and out in about an hour and a half! Everybody onsite was professional. Not exaggerating when I say the only pain I had was the first few hours after the extraction before I napped and a little bit of discomfort when my stitches were coming out. I didn't even need the prescription they gave me. While people have different pain tolerance levels, I can say they minimize it greatly with their skill. They are worth the $$$.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff here were so friendly and well informed. My wisdom teeth extraction was at an increased risk, but Dr. Martin assured me that he knew what to expect going in and that I was in good hands. I had a few questions several hours after the surgery and Dr. Martin was available to answer questions, provide additional solutions (beyond the abundance of resources already provided to me), and reassure me that my symptoms were normal. I also appreciated the fact that Makayla called to check up on me the morning after my extraction. And I got a little goodie bag walking out! Would definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: Great experience with the doctor and the assistant Monika. Had my wisdom tooth removed and there was no pain and not even any bleeding! Highly recommended, thank you for being so amazing. Update: Dr. Martin was great at taking care of me. He was always smiling, and so was his staff, bringing the cheer on a stressful situation. 2 months after my procedure, I've never felt better, and I have nothing but good things to say.

Fantastic experience: Annita/Anita was so nice, walked me through the process, and answered all questions I had before the procedure! She was really great at supporting and helping me relax throughout the extraction process!

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very kind and patient with my husband. He had 2 teeth pulled and it was hard to get him comfortable in the chair and in a good position for the procedure. He has Parkinson’s and it’s difficult to get him in certain positions….they did it! Thanks again for your patience and follow up wellness check❤️

Fantastic experience: I had my all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted (most of which were impacted) by Dr. Martin under deep sedation. Upon meeting with him for my consultation, I quickly became comfortable with his thoroughness and ability to answer my questions. The procedure itself was quick- no more than 15-20 minutes. Jake, who assisted me through pre procedure to post procedure, was very personable, comforting, and great at his job! I put my extractions off for years and years out of fear but it couldn’t have gone better and I’m glad I decided to go to Dr. Martin at OFIS.
