Negative experience: I am very disappointed with this office’s communication and billing practices. I was told my visit was a free consultation, yet it was billed to my insurance without my consent, reducing my annual insurance benefits. I called multiple times and requested a call back from the office manager, but no one ever called me back. I only received an email from Ashley, the office manager with a treatment plan, which was sent after I complained and more than a month after the consultation.They charged a fee, but no treatment plan was provided unless I complained. This is not the first billing issue I’ve experienced here. In a prior treatment, I was charged upfront and later discovered through my insurance statement that I had been overcharged. A refund was only issued after I questioned it. These experiences show poor communication, lack of transparency, and questionable billing practices. Patients should carefully review their insurance statements.

I never thought I’d find a dentistry I looked forward to visiting twice/year! Also, hygienist Tina was VERY gentle with me recently which I appreciated, and I would highly recommend her for folks who are especially sensitive!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this office for a while now. I’m highly impressed with the front desk staff. They are very welcoming. Front office is always nice and clean. The majority of my visits are with Dr. Cecilia Tran. She is wonderful. She may be petite, but she is amazing and boy… She showed her strength when she was putting on my molar Bridge. Lol. I loved her assistant Christian. I’ve seen other Dr specialist Matthew Tokarski, DMD, Periodontist. I’ve only seen him a couple of times for special treatment for my tongue and removed a chipped molar. He is also very good.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and Dr. Tran was kind enough to take me in right away. She was incredibly gentle, patient, and reassuring during the whole visit. I was so stressed and in pain, but she took such good care of me and made the experience so much easier. I'm very grateful for her quick help and kindness. Fantastic experience: I had a good experience, which is not something you associate with the dentist. But the staff was great and Dr. Kavetsis was wonderful. She fixed my crown and answered my questions even though I was not a regular patient.

Fantastic experience: My dental hygienist Blanca is great, she does a very thorough cleaning and gives me very helpful advice on areas that can use more attention. I’ve always had genetic dental issues but never received detailed preventative feedback. My dentist, Dr. Anthony Besse, is also great! He is very personable, caring, and detailed with his work. You never feel like he’s in a rush. I’ve had trauma with previous dentists gaslighting me and doing lazy work that has resulted in further issues. I know I’m in good hands with this team. The one downside is you might have to schedule months in advance to get an appointment, I am just lucky my schedule flexibility allows, but for some this can be difficult

Fantastic experience: Update: I'm going back for a new set of dentures! I wouldn't go anywhere else! I went to Affinity Dental to get a consult on dentures. Due to the pandemic, my 1st set was never adjusted correctly. After visiting many dentists after that, none wanted to help, they just wanted me to pay for a whole new set. I got new insurance and thought I would try again. Dr. Tran was so awesome. She worked on my old set, so I could get used to wearing them. Then they can fix them through the lab. New ones will be next year. The whole staff was so kind and willing to assist me. The office itself was very impressive. All around my best visit to a dentist!

Fantastic experience: I just moved to the area and am SO happy I chose Affinity Dental. I saw Dr. Tran, she was amazing! I have a lot of dental issues and am super picky with dentists - I’m also always nervous when trying a new dentist. Affinity Dental was super professional, and they weren’t rushing through my cleaning trying to get me out the door as fast as possible, which has been an experience at other places I’ve tried. The front desk folks also walked me through all my options for work I need done and helped me come up with a plan aligned with my dental insurance.

Fantastic experience: We just moved to the Chicago area, and I had a dental emergency right before a big trip. Dr. Lana Kavetsis at Affinity Dental truly came to the rescue! They were able to get me in right away, and I was so worried it would end up needing a root canal. But Dr. Lana was amazing—she treated the issue with such care and precision, and thankfully, we avoided the root canal! I was also so impressed that she was able to complete the crown in just one day—no need for a follow-up visit. Thank you so much, Dr. Lana! You've absolutely earned a new loyal patient!

Negative experience: Very unhappy with Dr. Trans. She is NO Dr. Tedford, which I have seen for 10+ years and have nothing but respect for. She gave me 2 Lidocaine injections, and then checked my blood pressure and said it was too high and she will not proceed with the extraction. If my blood pressure was too high, Why did she give me the two Licocaine shots before checking my blood pressure. Then, she said I need to see a Primary Care Physician about my weight and blood pressure before she would see me again.... Wow, she is probably right but didn't have to be condescending about it.... My wife and I are quite upset. I will NEVER return to Affinity Dental... Smh.

Fantastic experience: I’ve become a bit of a regular here and the journey I’ve been on to improve my oral health would be so much more difficult if it wasn’t for the folks at Affinity taking so much extra effort to help me! Truly appreciated and I always look forward to coming back for more help.

Negative experience: The office feels very much like they are prioritizing profits over patient care or customer service. I specifically asked to not have periapical X-rays performed because my insurance does not cover these X-rays and that my previous dentists did not require them. I was reassured by both the receptionist and the hygienist that it’s okay and that they would waive the charge. After my check-up, they charged me anyway for these xrays and refused to take off the charge. Won’t be going back.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Tedford was my dentist for many years and he retired. I really liked him and was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find another good dentist that I also liked. But fortunately, he introduced me to Dr. Bessie and he is an excellent dentist as well. Very professional, and I can tell that he is passionate about dentistry. This is also a very personable and friendly practice and they make you feel uncomfortable. All things considered. It’s still a dentist appointment.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in a long time and was apprehensive but they did an incredibly thorough examination, including notes that I should look in to sleep apnea. Negative experience: I don’t have any problem with my procedure but with the billing yes. I asked to the doctor I much I’m going to to pay from my pocket and he told me one amount and i was agreed and when he finished the procedure I stopped at the cashier she charged more and I paid, but couple weeks later I received another bill I know they can call the insurance and the can find how much the insurance going to cover at the end my procedure was more expensive than other clinics.

Fantastic experience: I visited Dr. Ho to correct a problem with my dental implant. The experience was exceptional. The office staff and atmosphere were all welcoming, warm and professional. I was promptly attended to with a smile upon entering. I have a natural anxiety of the dentists' office, but Dr. Ho and his staff calmed that anxiety. He had personally spoken to my dentist prior to my arrival which was immediately reassuring. He walked me through the procedure in detail which helped to calm my anxiety. The procedure took all of 20-30 minutes with absolutely no discomfort, even though there was drilling involved - a process that I typically would not be able to tolerate in the past without some anesthetic. I was quite satisfied with the outcome of the procedure and the visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Ho and the Affinity Dental clinic without reservation

Fantastic experience: A very professional and welcoming office. The doctor is very knowledgeable, and spends time with the patient going over everything. You feel cared for. So far I've only seen Dr Tran, but it's hard to believe the other doctors are not as good and as caring working together in such an environment.

Fantastic experience: My first visit was seven years ago and I am still impressed. Affinity impresses me with their timeliness. They always take me on time and have me out within the timeframe discussed for the appointment. Today I had a root canal and it was the easiest process, well explained, within an hour, after care well explained, pre determination with insurance so I knew what I would pay today. It just doesn't get better than Affinity!

Fantastic experience: Affinity dental was the best dental clinic I'd ever been in my life. It consisted of a bunch of well trained and skilled staffs in dentistry. I went there for chipped pre-molar crowning. It took about 2-3 hours to complete in only one visit. I highly recommend this dental clinic to people who need a complete tooth restoration and don't want to waste their precious time.

Negative experience: Update: Three crowns that Dr. Besse did ranging from only two years ago to a handful of months ago have failed and have had cavities grow in such a short amount of time. Update: both Aligntech and the Better Business Bureau have reported back to me that Affinity Dental had refused to answer their calls regarding my case. Crowns: They're 3D printed ones. One came out in the same afternoon it was put in and fell out again only after five months in. This tooth's bond was drilled into a cavity. The hygenist and dentist both told me the smell and pain by a back tooth that ended up needing a crown replacement were "normal" and they didn't look into it. Twice. I am filing a grievance with my insurance company and will include the letter of dismissal that Dr. Besse sent me saying that I "didn't trust what he was doing". We will see how my insurance feels about that as well as my new dentist. When these things that consistently go wrong at this dentistry as well as the staff telling me lies (an appointment I DIDN"T miss but was rudely told that I did some years ago on top of telling me I had Invisalign retainers that I didn't in fact have), it's just on another level here of personal pain that this affects your smile, your personal teeth. There's always been a hint of oppression in Dr. Besse, I now stand by that instinct. I had given them a lot of business in years past so for them to treat patients this way is unacceptable. Better Business Bureau and Invisalign: The staff told me I had Invisalign retainers that I did not in fact have and they have never apologized nor acknowledged this and are dodging any accountability from professional entities like BBB and Aligntech. Affinity's orthodontist who is there once a week told me on 10/3/24 that I already had my four final retainers. That was not true but she insisted I did and barely examined me. I came in telling her I was in pain but she just tapped my trays, said they fit, and then corrected me about having retainers that I didn't in fact hard. The receptionist said the same thing, that I had picked them up 8/9/24. On 10/4/24 | reached out to Aligntech and Better Business Bureau to report what had happened. On 10/5/24 Dr. Besse finally wrote to me and told me he would "go ahead and order the final four retainers". A few weeks later the BBB reported back to me that Affinity had told them they gave me my four retainers. Yes, AFTER the fact! At the time, on 10/3, they were dismissive and refused to work with me and just insisted I had retainers that I didn't have. The business has refused to even acknowledged their mistake. It is truly detrimental to have professionals tell you you are making stuff up. I have proof they were wrong. It was truly distressful and what's more, they completely missed two major cavities that I now have to order new retainers for new crowns. I came into that appointment on 10/3 and the first thing I complained about was pain, but Miss Ligas was concerned with correcting me that I had four retainers that I didn't have. I never signed off on the final four being ordered on 10/5/24 and told the office this, but the office is not responsive to me nor the Better Business Bureau nor Aligntech. In the meantime my dentist sent a dismissal letter saying I didn’t trust what he was doing. I’m just trying to get to the bottom of this and I’m really scarred by being gaslit by this business. I was in pain and Bozena didn’t acknowledge it. And when my dentist said he was going to indeed order those final four retainers he never acknowledged that the receptionist and orthodontist were mistaken. It was like a panicked twilight zone with them saying I received something I never did. And I never gave the go ahead for the final retainers to be sent.m. Also some years ago a receptionist told me I missed an appointment that I never had. She argued with me and it was just not the case, I don’t know the reality to sure coming from but they are very defensive here.

Positive experience: Extremely adequate dentist’s office that I may or may not go back to. The dental hygienist scolded me for not knowing that I needed xrays and acted like it was inconvenient when I asked how much they cost. She’s also weirdly judgy about my needing nitrous for a cleaning (sorry my past trauma at the dentist is SUCH a pain!). I’ve been willing to let that go in the past, but it’s happened more than once - including a time I had to reschedule because no one had notes on my chart that I will not do a cleaning without it - not sure how that’s possible. If my vet’s office can note that my cat needs gabapentin, I would think a dentist could handle that. If I go back, she will not be anywhere near my mouth.

Fantastic experience: I developed an abscessed tooth over the weekend and was able to get an appointment on MONDAY MORNING! My now-previous dentist considered "emergencies" as situations that could wait a week, so hello Affinity! My issues were settled within two hours. Everybody from Dr. Besse to Nathan to Andrea was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend Affinity to you as your dental provider.

Fantastic experience: After nearly 40 years wearing dentures, my mom dropped her bottom denture and it broke. I prayed and searched diligently for the right dentist. I chose Dr. Kavetsis because of her up-to-the-minute knowledge, skill, experience, patience and COMPASSION expressed in patient reviews and phone calls. She did not disappoint! Not only is Dr. K all that, she is also HONEST! She suggested repairing mom's denture because of its still good, quality condition, and it had a clean break, saving us both time and tons of money. A relational, family-like atmosphere, her staff, Delilah, Sylvia, Ashley are all wonderful to interact with, communicative; the office/facility is nice, techy! No longer nervous, Mom is looking forward to eating her favorite foods again really SOON and restoring her BEAUTIFUL SMILE! Thank you Dr. K!❤️ Worth the drive! Parking available. Don't get me wrong, it's still the dentist, but they make you kind of forget. Not too good to be true! VERIFIED by ME!

Fantastic experience: Refreshed for 2025! Been coming here for a couple of years after an extensive search for a new dentist. The whole team is welcoming and friendly, on time for appointments, office clean and modern, parking is readily available. Dr. Tran is thorough in her exams. Fantastic experience: I was extremely pleased with the entire experience and am very impressed and grateful for the clear expertise and compassion shown by all staff involved in my care! The dentist, hygienist and business staff member were all clearly knowledgeable, good at communicating and very kind. I feel that I am fortunate to have discovered an excellent dental practice.

Negative experience: Truly have never experienced worse patient experience from the technicians. If I wasn’t stuck here for an Invisalign cycle I wouldn’t have come back. I’m an autistic adult and went through a pregnancy while at this clinic. They denied me care despite a doctors note that it was safe for me to accept care so I had to wait until after my pregnancy. I have also never been asked such rude, impertinent, and invasive personal questions as I have by these techs. Comments about the size of my baby, how far along I was, etc. One tech argued with me until I insisted on seeing the dentist who then agreed with me that the retainer I had been given didn’t fit. That same tech took an hour for what should have been a 15 minute attachment appointment only to call another tech and she did it in 5. Honesty, after my last appointment I just ran out because I was about to cry. Not coming back. The only saving grace is nice front desk staff and dentist. Please educate your employees on proper patient experience and care. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I broke a tooth and needed emergency service. I got an appointment for the next day. Not only did they repair the damage, but were able to fabricate a permanent crown and cement it in place in the one visit. The staff worked with me on the fees for both the service and the new crown and offered me a better than expected financial solution. Kudos!!!

Negative experience: Most of the staff is nice. However, my partner and I have had some rather horrible experiences. Recently I found out after my visit that they are no longer in-network with my insurance. Person on the phone was rude when I misunderstood their confusing email from Dec 2023. "We will be updating our contract status with MetLife effective January 16, 2024, to use a third-party administrator to process claims as in-network. Your preventative care (i.e. cleanings, x-rays, exams) will still be fully covered and we will send a pre-authorization for any treatment that isn't covered at 100%" This statement implies they are still going to process them as in-network and will be fully covered. I will definitely refer any and everyone here, but not too many people I like the concierge’s style of service lol but seriously my experience was amazing here I plan on making you all family while I am getting all of my work done and then some.

Fantastic experience: These people are great! I've been neglecting the dentist because of previous experiences elsewhere that made my care plan difficult to navigate and coordinate getting it done. This team is efficient, thorough, and KIND. We worked out a timeline to affordably get my needed work done AND they do it all in house, so no need to coordinate with separate endodontics! They have really great technology and bedside manner. A+++++
