Fantastic experience: Absolutely my favorite dental practice, my previous dentists were always trying to hard sell more services. Here at Avalon they are very service oriented and professional. Super friendly and the dentists are skilled with great bed side manners. I recommend them to all my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: Avalon Dental is really SPECIAL. Your not just a patient here, you are a friend. The staff and Dentists are incredibly genuinely personable. They get to know you and you should get to know them. Most of all they focus on their craftsmanship and make sure you know the state of your teeth, what you should do, and how they can help you. That is how it suppose to be especially when it comes to healthcare. So many tried to persuade and pressure to up sale this and that. Dr. Yu and his staff just focus on treating and caring for your teeth. I truly appreciate Avalon Dental and what they do. They keep it simple. My sincere hope is that if you come across this review as you consider a new dentist, please at the very least reach out to their office and talk to their staff and you will have the very best dentists, staff, and NEW FOUND FRIENDS. GO BLUE!!!!

He always takes the time to explain everything he sees and to ask about then listen to my concerns. Services are never pushed. I know I’m in good hands whenever I walk thru the doors.

Negative experience: This would be my 2nd year, and could have been my children's 2nd year, with Avalon. Last year's experience was exceptional for me and my children because we were new patients, IMO. I had an appointment with them today for a cleaning, which, unbeknownst to me until I had to pay my co-pay, turned out to be a periodontal cleaning. The co-pay was higher than usual, and, of course, I questioned it since I have exceptional insurance. The person I spoke to TRIED to be patient while explaining to me the difference between a periodontal and a regular surface cleaning. Not sure why they're taken aback when patients question their services and prices. This is a service business the last time I checked. My next scheduled appointment is in July, and I moved my children's appointment onto the same day, which will make it easier for me to cancel our appointments if I choose to. It's a new year, so my dental insurance just reset. Prior, my and my children's dental group of 5 years were the excellent until we had to move. Within throwing distance we have Sapphire, Grand Mission, Studio Dental, etc. who have high ratings, not only on Google, but also on Yelp. I have options.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Avalon for over a year. You can tell the leadership is on point. From the tome you walk in until the time you leave they are all very kind and professional. I will never go to another dentist.

I especially appreciate the dental hygienist, Lynn, who takes the time to educate me on how to improve my dental care. Fantastic experience: I warned them that I was cowardly about dentists. They took good care of me anyway, the kind and friendly staff putting me at ease, and even the peaceful view of trees and water from "the chair" helping me to relax. The doctor went over my dental health with me respectfully, patiently, knowledgeably. I'll be back in six months...and for me, that is the highest accolade! Updates, 12-11-2025: I was taken care of by Audrey, who put me at ease more than many a dental hygienist with her calm and cheerful manner and her obvious love of her job.

As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, skilled, and dedicated to providing a good experience.

Fantastic experience: I recommend this place I had a root canal done and I went in petrified of the injection to numb the area but it’s was nothing like I imagined so relaxing and the Dr was very nice. Not the usual drilling sound at all , The whole time which by the way I thought it didn’t took forever was relaxing and calm! I definitely had a great experience!!

Negative experience: If I could give no stars I would this place charges essential workers because they Miss or even call and update them when needed at the last minute. Also cancel and charge you than to let you have your scheduled appointment nothing is good for the customers only the company!

Negative experience: I’ve been coming to Avalon Dental for about 3 years now and I will say, without a doubt, they are by far the best dentist offices in Sugarland and possibly Houston. I’ve been to quite a few around town. The staff is very friendly which makes my visits to the office even better. I go to doctor Yu and he's an amazing dentist, very gentle while performing work, which is great! He's fixed botched jobs from other dentist and they have held up very well. I’ve sent quite a few family members to them and they have always had good things to say afterwards. Update 10/30/2025: I’m not sure who the lady dentist was but she really screwed up. I came in to have a filling fixed. As she was numbing my gums I felt a sharp pain flow up the left side of my face. It was so bad, it almost felt like a blood vessel was constricted behind my eye and what was even stranger is that I could smell the numbing medicine with my mouth closed. As this pain continued to get worse I pulled my mouth away. The dentist started LAUGHING and said “oh did that hurt”……… There was nothing funny about this at all and rather concerned. After she completed the filling and I left the office I had a headache that lasted over the next day. My left eye felt like there was some sort of constriction and my sinuses were all messed up. It’s been almost two weeks now and I still feel some sort of constriction around my eye that I’m going to have looked at. Also, every morning I taste the filling material they used for my tooth which I’ve never had that happen after my past filling were done. Up until this last visit I would’ve recommended anyone to this place but now I’ll be searching for another dentist office.

Fantastic experience: I need a dental clearance for some upcoming valve replacement surgery - the original clearance requests apparently never made it to them. They offered me an immediate appointment for the exam to get the clearance done. The excellent and caring front line staff make a significant difference and reflect Avalon’s values and standards. Our hygienist Jonathan was incredibly professional, patient, and took the time to explain everything clearly, from insurance coverage to showing before-and-after photos. He walked us out every time - a truly gentle young men. The clinic itself is modern and clean, with coffee machine and a lovely view of the lake that makes appointments relaxing. Fantastic experience: Avalon has been my go-to for dental services for years now. Throughout the years, I see nothing but improvement with these folks. The crew has really grown and the facility has ever been expanding, but nicely under control. Most importantly, they have a very mature patient-to-clinic operating system which is very integrated and makes scheduling appointments and communicating directly to the operators very easily. These are my very own observation over the many years being serviced at Avalon. As for my personal experience at Avalon, all of my dental cleaning and evaluating has been done there. But I have a family friend orthodontist, so when it comes to implants, I didn't do it at Avalon, but I'm quite sure Avalon has the skills and experience to do the job right. In my younger years, I've had the worst teeth maintenance and pain; getting in with Avalon over the years has all of it sorted out well for me. These are the best days of my life. Thanks, Avalon!

Negative experience: Before my cleaning visits, I provided Avalon Dental Group with my dental insurances along with the identification numbers of each policy the beginning of 2025. Calling the office in June 2025, they did not have the information. The clerk was stating that I did not have the dental insurances. I put the information in my portal for their use for dental claim payments. I was not about to have an argument. I said, “okay.” Upon arriving for a cleaning in July, the clerk mentioned paperwork. I told her I had already processed my paperwork. She did not state what paperwork or what she needed from me. I do not look at my emails. If I had something to process for the dental office before the appointment, I should have received a phone call. In July 2025, I get an email notification that I owed for an insurance cleaning. Again. I provided the insurance names and insurance identification numbers for the second time. Someone in their office is not following standard operating procedures for filling out patients’ information. The office needs to have a continuous improvement course for standard operating procedures to stop the confusion and wrong information provided to patient.

Fantastic experience: Took advantage of the new patient deal. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Mix up on appt time and worked me back in same day! Dr. Kang was great and office was very comfortable. Office provided up to date technology for best oral care and evaluation.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Avalon is great and very helpful. I had an emergency dental situation over the weekend and Dr. Soo was wonderful. I spoke to her directly over the weekend and she was able to provide immediate help and she squeezed me in for an appt that Monday. Everyone is caring and you can tell they genuinely want what's best for the patients well being.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough great things about my FIRST visit to Avalon Dental. From the moment I walked into the office I was greeted by the most friendly front desk agent! After checking me in I headed to the waiting area but was quickly interrupted by assistant Andrew, who was already waiting to take me back to be seen. Andrew was so friendly, courteous and calming. We discussed my pain spots and reason for my visit and he explained the process and put my anxiety at ease. After scans we headed to see hygienist Alyssa for cleaning. Again, i was not disappointed! She was kind, thorough, and professional. After my cleaning i was seen by Dr Kang and I tell you..... HE was a breath of fresh air! Incredibly knowledgeable but yet gentle warm and accommodating. I'm just blown away by the entire staff and experience at Avalon and will definitely go back again.

Negative experience: It is unbelievable what their prices are. Absolutely unbelievable. And don’t tell him you don’t have insurance, or they just want you out the door. Very manipulative.

Fantastic experience: Have been coming here for years. As soon as you come in your greeted and checked in. If your appointment is at 9, they take you in at 9, which is great. I'm very nervous going to the dentist, but they asked through my visit if I'm ok or need for them to stop and take a break. They also checkout you quickly. Very friendly staff, great doctors.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy the friendliness of the staff, and going in extra miles to help me if I ask for something. I like the clean and the modern warm look in the office and a good cup of coffee when I come slightly early. I also like the reminders before my appointment and the follow up from my procedures. I like the friendliness of the Doctor Who attends to my teeth and is very thorough to take care of whatever the issue may be. Also, I like that the office is not freezing cold and the chairs are very comfortable. And the view is amazing by the lake.

Fantastic experience: Words can’t fully express how grateful I am for Dr. Yu and the entire team. I recently lost my job and had to pay out of pocket for dental care, which got pretty expensive. This team had worked on my mouth before, so I went back to them. When they told me the price for my tooth extraction, I broke down in tears—I simply couldn’t afford it. But instead of turning me away, they found a way to make it affordable and even changed their schedule to fit me in. That kind of compassion and care is rare. If that’s not top-notch customer service, I don’t know what is. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Fantastic experience: Couldn't be happier with how my 1st visit went. Talked me through the process of each step and answered all my questions. Although the initial visit is about an hr long, it didn't feel like it. They will take plenty of images of your teeth but that is to catch any issues before they become bigger. Would highly recommend to others.

Dr. So, who is my current dentist, takes excellent care of my teeth and always provides timely and thoughtful recommendations. She’s incredibly skilled—she can take care of a cavity and fill it quickly while making sure everything is done right. Before her, Dr. Yu was my original dentist, and I had a great experience with him as well. Avalon Dental Group has earned my trust over the years, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. If you’re looking for a dental office that genuinely cares about your teeth, I highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I have been nervous about dental office due to the last dentist office messed my mouth up really bad that landed me into a hospital 2 years ago. I came to Avalon so far they have made me feel comfortable they did my cleaning and a treatment on one side for a gum infection so far so good I still need more work done on my mouth. The staff is so nice and friendly it’s very clean and upscale I love it so far

Fantastic experience: As someone who is petrified of dentist, I Avalon Dental is amazing. From check in to the dentist I have never felt to welcome and relaxed as I have here. (I've been fired by a dentist because of my reluctance)

Negative experience: Avoid this clinic if you're planning to visit with insurance—it’s a complete scam! They have no idea what they’re doing. I was assured that my doctor was in-network and even received an estimated bill, which I paid upfront for the uncovered portion. However, when the claim was processed, the doctor turned out to be out-of-network! The clinic manager was unprofessional and dismissive, insisting that the doctor was 100% in-network and that the issue would be resolved. After a 15-minute discussion, she never apologized or even acknowledged the mistake. In the end, they received payment from both me and my insurance for a covered service but refused to issue a refund. I’ve never seen such a cheap and dishonest clinic willing to lose both current and potential customers over a couple of hundred dollars. This was, without a doubt, the worst dental experience I’ve ever had.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant experience. I feel confident and happy I received the best possible care and attention from hygenist (Jonathon) and Doctor Kahn. This was my first visit with Avalon Dental Group but it is the beginning of a great relationship. I look forward to visiting the ADG in the future.

They have been consistent with the services provided and I am a pleased customer!!!!! 1/25/2025 I recently had a procedure done and it went flawlessly! Fantastic experience: I just have to say that after being to several dentists all over the country, Dr. Julie Seo is the best. I do not like going to the dentist and Dr. Seo makes me feel more comfortable and safe. She has filled many cavities for me and is very gentle and talks me through it. She is very thorough. I am so thankful that I found Avalon Dental online. My whole family goes here now, even my husband who despises going to the dentist and hadn't gone in maybe 10 years until he started going to Avalon. He is a fan of Dr. Abraham. I am sure all the doctors are great, but my favorite is Dr. Julie Seo. Hands down, she is the BEST! If you are looking for a dentist for your children or yourself, I would definitely check out Avalon Dental in Sugarland.

Fantastic experience: Always on time, courteous and professional staff. I’ve been going here for the past 10 years and it’s only gotten better. The coordination pre-visit makes wait time very minimal. Just seems like everyone who works there likes what they are doing, and their joy shows one great smile at a time. You can’t go wrong with Avalon.
