Fantastic experience: I’m a new client here and have had one initial visit and one deep cleaning so far. Everyone has been incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I had a dental emergency after my cleaning, and on a Saturday no less. I used their on-call line to reach the on-call dentist, Colleen, who was extremely helpful. I ended up meeting her at the clinic, and she got me taken care of right away. I couldn’t be more grateful to her and the entire Fifth Ave team!

Positive experience: I was very pleased with how quickly the dentist was able fill my tooth. But, not happy that your office refuses to submit both group numbers of mt GEHA insurance so I receive my full insurance benefits that I pay for. This matter us what will keep me from using your office. Dr. England put a black substance filling over an exposed root and it fell of in just a few months. Gentle Dentistry replaced the crown and all was well.

Fantastic experience: OMGoodness! Finally found a dental practice here that isn't part of some large corporation and doesn't treat you like a number with $$ signs on your head! Michelle (at the front desk) was very kind and a good listener. She clearly understood what I was looking for and called me back very quickly to let me know they had the dental tools I had become accustomed to and wanted used again on me. I had called 16 other dentists before I called this office and 14 of them hadn't even heard of the tools I wanted and the other 2 knew what they were, but their practice didn't use them. If you know, you know. I had a terrific dentist/hygienist in WI for 30+ years... finding that same level of service here wasn't easy. This is the first time my teeth have felt clean in 3 years - it's wonderful! Your comfort and ease are clearly important to them too. Dr. Schroeder was great, as was my hygienist, Lisa. I finally found my forever dentist in MN!! Thanks Fifth Avenue Dental! ♥

Positive experience: I am a parent of an autistic child and find it helpful when reading reviews from parents in the same situation. If this is you and you also find these reviews helpful, this is for you. I hope this helps you make the right decision for your family. It has been about 6 months since we were in. We did not have a successful visit, well we tried twice, so two visits. We had a quick exam and could not even get x rays to form a treatment plan. The waiting room is non-accommodating to children in general. There is not much room for children, just a little table for them to sit at. The front desk person seemed annoyed, but it could have been my imagination. The guest bathroom is behind the door they let you in through to go back to see the dentists and is small with a very loud fan. My young son saw Dr. Ben who was very kind and said he had young kids himself. Unfortunately, my son was just terrified of Dr. Ben. I assume it was his tall stature but can't be sure. The room we were in was more towards the "front" of the hallway and there was a bit of foot traffic which was loud and added to the issues we had. I had my younger daughter with as well and there wasn't really anywhere to put her so they had her sit in a tiny chair outside the rooms door in the hallway. It was not great. The second visit we had, I brought a cushion for the floor and set her up inside the room on the floor with her tablet. The room was small, bright, and loud overall. It was not a good experience for my son, or me. It wasn't the dentist's fault in the moment, just the environment and my son's reaction at the time. The thing that really pushed me to leave this review was the behavior after the fact. I called them back because they told us they couldn't treat my son. Since he was afraid of the dentist and there just wasn't time to be patient with him, they recommended us elsewhere. The other office was not accepting new patients so I called back recently to inquire about trying again at Fifth Ave Dental by seeing a female Dr. I said if we could create an environment where my son was comfortable, the appointment would be successful. I have brought him to 2 different dentists, one of which was a pediatric dental office, the other not. Both went great because they helped me create that necessary environment, but unfortunately, my son's MA is not accepted there so we were trying this place. They refused to offer this opportunity. They told me they had recommended us permanently and would not allow my son back. They recommended my son for sedation instead of being willing to provide a safe environment for him where he would feel comfortable enough to have the work done he needs. The manager that called me back tried to tell me she knew what it was like. I asked her if she had a special needs child. She said she didn't but likened herself to our situation as "a parent who wants the very best for her child". Clearly, she has no clue. After stating their unwillingness to accommodate our needs, the manager told me she had one last clinic to recommend us to. We called, went into an appointment and they could not even provide the services we needed. So frustrating. My hope for this dental office is to realize their actions can be incredibly harmful to special needs people and their families. An autistic child does not necessarily need to be sedated to have dental work done. Sometimes, they just need the right environment. Try giving people some space and time. Perhaps you could have a special needs room specifically for people who need it. Especially if you are accepting MA specific patients. According to mn.gov, there are more than 125,000 people with special needs enrolled in MA here in MN, so it's not just us.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many dental offices in the area over the years. Most seem to push services that seem unnecessary. 5th Avenue Dental has impressed me a few times with their willingness to hear, consider and discuss my needs, requests and budget.

Fantastic experience: I went to see them due to another dental office putting in bridges that had came free from my tooth. After several attempts, I just wanted someone new. I can't tell you how flabbergasted I was to have them tell me they weren't the best place for my bite pattern as they explained this other Dental office was the way to go. They gave me their information to call them to set up an appointment,they also said that they were going to send this dental office all they had for x-rays along with the explanation of what was the problem. Fantastic experience: The staff are very friendly and informative on what’s the best I can do to protect my gums and teeth. My hygienist even took time today to look up mouth washes and their ingredients to find an alternative to the one I’ve been using they previously recommended because my Medicare OTC program doesn’t include my mouth wash, dental floss or tooth paste. She was a lot of help!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience every time, even though going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do. They do their best to make me feel comfortable and the care they provide in a great atmosphere exceeds my expectations. I feel I get the best possible dental care there and while I love my hygienist, Patty, Lindsey filled in for her today and she was amazing! (Extremely gentle). While I usually see Dr Schroeder, this time I had the opportunity to see Dr Halligan. She was just as great as Dr Schroeder. Fifth Avenue is always able to accommodate me and provide the care I need. Fifth Avenue Dental is the best!

I've had numbing shots administered a few dozen times over the past 5 years and they've always felt like a hot poker stabbing me in the jaw. When I say I felt nothing this time, I mean NOTHING. No pinch, no pressure just her fingers massaging my cheek for minute then it was done. It's incredible what a difference that made to my whole experience. Thanks Natalie!

It had been yearsss since I had been to the dentist due to fear and anxiety, but after letting them know when making my appointment about how nervous and embarrassed I was because of how long it had been, they gave me so much reassurance and walked me through everything ahead of time to help eliminate any anxieties I felt. Everyone there is so kind and friendly that I immediately felt as ease when I arrived. I’ve since been there 5+ times and don’t want to go to any other dentist office from here on out! I give them 100/10.

Negative experience: Dentist and hygienist was awesome. Service was excellent. But BEWARE, I was quoted by office and insurance the amount I am supposed to pay for pretreatment. I was fine with that. On the day for the service of my pre treatment I was told by front desk I am required the pay for at least half of my treatment and the other half will be paid when service is finished. I agree however the person inside charged my card for the entire payment when service was not completed, I mean who in their right mind would pay for service you have not received yet. On the date for my second treatment where I should not be paying anything I was told that I have to pay more for my treatment that she was off. How can you be off when you already submitted a quote/claim to insurance and all. I feel like I was scam. Feeling disheartening. I won't want to go there again.
