Negative experience: We have been the customers of Dr.Vuong since 2017, but now he is not in there all the time and thing always when crazy. Today, me and my wife came in and do the return check up from the last 6 months. The hygienist inform my wife that she needs to do the deep clean and need to pay extra 600 plus for that, my wife told her that we can not afford that, and my wife told the hygienist that we are regular customer, we only can afford whatever in our insurance allow (we have 1500 allowance for each person). The hygienist refused to acknowledge that and keeps insist that the insurance does not cover for deep clean ( this is strange to me because this is not the first time we do this). I think they add so much add on into that so the insurance won’t cover most extra part. At the end, we have to leave so the manager can check the insurance again. I don’t know why this is keep happen to me, this is not the first time we in this story. This story keeps repeat every year, what is wrong with your office? Update on 7-11-2025: Why it took you 2 years to reply my concern? It is really great service.

Fantastic experience: I just had four cavities filled by Dr. Chang. I'm 45 and this is the first time in my life that I've been through this. This should've been donee a long time ago I'm sure, but I'm a procrastinator. Anyway, one of them required numbing. Dr. Chang and his assistant Ebony were terrific. They put me at ease as best they could, answered all my questions, and took care of me within an hour.

The entire team is so wonderful and really take the time to not just take care of you but also to educate you in oral care. 2025 update: Ebbeny took her of my 6 y/o today. Negative experience: We’ve been with our family dentist for years, but my husband felt it might be time for a more modern approach to our kids’ dental care. After visiting a new dental office with a friend, he was impressed by the facility and encouraged me to give it a try for the whole family. So, I called to schedule a routine cleaning appointment for myself and our children. We arrived just 5 minutes late, but what followed was a frustrating experience. Instead of the simple cleaning I scheduled, we were pulled into a lengthy process involving X-rays and other assessments that felt unnecessary. I eventually met the dentist, who was very kind and seemed knowledgeable, which I appreciated. However, the hygienist came in afterward with her own recommendations for a deep cleaning, and I agreed to move forward with it. What I didn’t expect was to be told that I now needed to schedule an entirely new appointment for the actual deep cleaning despite the fact that I was already there. Even worse, I was informed it would require two separate visits, not including the one I had already taken time off work for. I came in expecting a simple cleaning, but left without it, having only spent time listening to treatment plans and recommendations I didn’t ask for. It felt like a complete waste of my time. To make matters worse, the office mixed up my daughters’ charts, paperwork meant for one was placed under the other’s file. On top of that, the payment I made for my own deep cleaning was mistakenly applied to my daughter’s account. The dental office manager was responsible for these errors, which leaves me seriously questioning what else might go wrong in the future. I nearly requested that all our family’s information be removed from their system, but decided to give it one more chance and see how the next visit goes. That said, there are plenty of great dental offices in Cypress, and I’m not opposed to making a switch. Scheduling the appointment alone was chaotic. I strongly urge this office to streamline and simplify their processes especially if they’re recommending patients commit to additional treatments. Very disappointing visit.

Negative experience: I don't know where these good reviews came from, but they made me choose this place. On Wednesday, they pulled out a tooth that was free of lesions and pain during my menstrual period. It was because the tooth itself was a porcelain tooth, and it broke off the morning before I came here. I wanted to repair or make a new porcelain tooth, but they suggested that I extract the tooth and make an implant or bridge the two teeth nearby! The other tooth that is in pain and inflammation now has to wait a week before going to another clinic because the extraction wound is prone to infection. It may turn into acute pulpitis at any time! A suggestion for those who want to see a doctor, you can consult several dental clinics before coming!

Negative experience: They told me I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed and a partial part of my jaw..got a second opinion and they told me it wasn’t necessary at all. These people seem to be about the money and it’s very obvious. They will sale you a whole story just to get in your pockets. Always get that second opinion.

Fantastic experience: This has been a truly wonderful experience for me and my family. I have had extensive dental work done by Dr Laith after decades of me neglecting my dental health. The whole team was very supportive and non judgemental . From the moment you check in, to when you leave the building / check out, you are met with welcoming smiles and words of encouragement! They run a very efficient operation with “ZERO” wait time. Dr Laith’s work is outstanding , as is Jen’s- my dental hygienist! They took their time to educate me about what was going on in my mouth, and what types of procedures I would need, and set up a road map for me to achieve my best dental health. All of the dental assistants are very professional and courteous. Today, I Kristen was on my care team, and she did a great job. The financial folks - same, - kind, polite, professional. This has indeed been a good experience. My mouth and teeth are thankful, and I am glad to say I unreservedly recommend Smile Avenue Family Dentistry for all your dental needs !

Negative experience: I came in to do simple cleaning after I booked an appointment. They wasted over two hours of my time on an aggressive sales pitch, after which they told me I need deep cleaning (which I would have to pay extra for) and I need to book another appointment for that! I asked them I wanted only a simple cleaning for an event and that's why I came and booked my appointment. They refused and said the hygienist is busy. AVOID! - They respond with a typical AI-bot template. A dispute will be filed with my insurance.

Coming to the dentist can be a anxiety driven experience—- but from the moment I opened the door; the attentive front office staff, the very kind and intuitive dental assistant “ambassador” with a heart of GOLD, the attending dentist who was patient , caring, and listened to my every word and the warmhearted super helpful Smile Avenue treatment coordinator, Adrienne — literally every person IS a piece of a great soulful puzzle because you know you’re being seen and heard!! Rarely can I say I look forward to returning to a dental office, but with Smile Avenue Family Dentistry, I know the BEST IS YET TO COMEand I’m excited for the outcomes. So it’s now May 15th of 2025 and all my dental needs have been met. Just to add on to my first review; 1. Consistency of care, professionalism and integrity 2. From the moment you walk in: YOU’RE WELCOMED, seen and heard. 3. Dr. Yahya!! Simply amazing , helpful, attentive, caring, listens, authentic, no request or concern is too much!!! This dear gentleman is a jewel in Smile Avenue’s Crown!! 4. Insurance specialist staff on the outro is clear, ensuring you get emails of your procedure work and and billing, everything is explained, concerns are addressed, no pressure is raised, and you as the patient can make an informed decision. And YUP, Ms Adrienne is still one of many sweetest people you’ll meet at Smile Avenue. 5. Today I loved how their in-house lab was able to attend to any repairs needed — in real time, with Dr. Yahya and Assistant Muhammad — I was taken care of, and definitely I never mind waiting because you’re always told what is going on and are not just left sitting by yourself. For now, my extensive work is done plus my cleaning and I AM A HAPPY SOUL/customer of Smile Avenue. I’m going to miss all of the kind and wonderful faces I’ve met but will be back in November for my cleaning!!! Love Y’all

Negative experience: Set up for a bridge... cleaning recommended..." insurance is depleted "paid $211.00..patient portion $55.20..no refund...paid $3036.00 for 4 teeth bridge..a deal if paid in couple days... come to find out insurance paid half... They would not reply to calls went there ... financial group.. attempted to show cost.. fumble with phone and said " my calculator isn't working" was given $93.00 was told the that money was misilanious...final call.."we owe 400.00"..I contest the issue as I was told they forgot to bill a tooth on my bridge...whaaat...this billing department is shadier than a card trick on Bourbon Street Louisiana..I've been told many times I'm owed $400.00 plus since October 2024... still nothing.. typical tell ya whatever from them...filed a complaint with my insurance.. still waiting...6 months still no refund...

Negative experience: Bad visit. Bad experience. Waste my time. They push expensive deep cleaning procedure out of my insurance coverage. I came in completely healthy dental no pain, just want a standard cleaning like I always do 2 times a year. After offering me $450 pay out of pocket deep cleaning that I don’t want to pay for today. And out of my expectations She refused to do my standards cleaning and sent me to front desk.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff (which was about 8 people) I interacted with were friendly, helpful and personable. They do a great job explaining your treatment options and letting you know what the cost will be ahead of time. This is, by far, the most state of the art and cleanest dentist office I have ever been in. As long as I love in Houston, I'll be a patient of Smile Avenue! Violet and dr Laith were fantastic. They were great throughout my entire invisilign experience! Straight teeth after a few months!!

Negative experience: Jen does wonderful with deep cleanings! She put my nerves at ease with her sense of humor and soft touch. Pros: Clean and inviting building, friendly staff. Cons: Dentist and billing really lay the pressure on for you to have work done. Everything is communicated as urgent, "You need this procedure, it can't wait." They don't like to hear no. They give off overly aggressive car salesman vibes. On my last visit, I was told I needed 3 root canals and crowns for some cavities. I was not comfortable with that and was told that nothing else could be done. I followed my gut and got a SECOND OPINION at RODEO DENTAL. I got my cavities filled, NO root canals, NO crowns, and spent much less money doing so.
