We are a pediatric and adolescent dental office, serving children from ages 0-21. We provide comprehensive pediatric dental care, according to the standards set by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. We also provide orthodontic (braces) services and wisdom tooth removal. From birth to braces and beyond, we have your childs dental needs covered!

Fantastic experience: Another great visit! We were greeted right away and checked in quickly. While we waited, my youngest and I played a few fun rounds on the tabletop Pac-Man. Sarah was wonderful—she updated our info and clearly explained our insurance benefits. Emily then brought us back, took X-rays, and did a thorough cleaning. Dr. Burns was incredibly professional and took the time to walk us through areas of concern and explain the treatment plan in detail. The entire experience was positive, professional, and efficient. Great Big Smiles all around—highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Everyone was great and friendly. My LO felt very comfortable there. Given that it was his very first appointment (11 mths), he didnt fuss nearly as much as I expected and they were able to immediately get him back to him normal happy self after the exam.

Fantastic experience: We travel an hour to see Dr. Nate! My kids have been seeing him for almost 2 years. He is very patient and friendly to all children and parents. Since we switched to him, my son hasn't had any fears about going to the dentist. Dr. Nate answered all of my son's questions and never makes him feel uncomfortable. They use kid friendly words and the staff is always so nice and welcoming! We are so proud to call this our kids' dentist!

Fantastic experience: Beyond amazing experience! As my autistic child has gotten older, his fear of the dentist has increased. But from the moment we walked in, every single person in the office was incredibly accommodating and understanding of his needs. They were patient, gentle, and made every effort to help him feel safe. Although he did have a meltdown once we were finished, not a single person in the office made us feel ashamed or unwelcome. Instead, we felt supported and respected. That kind of compassion makes all the difference. We are truly grateful for the kindness and care shown to our family.

Fantastic experience: My daughter recently had her first appointment here and it was better than i expected she made the the staff laugh and they made her laugh as well. It was warm and welcoming and it made me feel as if my daughter was apart of a family they repeat procedure and give you soo much information on homecare for your child❤️ would recommend this for any child!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful dentist! My son has been a pt of Dr. Nathan since he was a toddler (he is now 9). We have zero complaints and have always been happy with our visits. Recently my son tried a different pediatric dentist due to an insurance change, and we immediately went back to Dr. Nathan. The other dentist wanted to do 8 fillings in my son's mouth when he did not need any work six months ago. We went back to Dr. Nathan for a second opinion and my son needs zero work done. Fantastic experience: This was our first visit to great big smiles and we drove an hour and a half to get there and it was well worth it. Dr Nathan Burns and his staff are all super friendly and attentive to our needs. They made my daughter feel very comfortable and are doing everything possible to take care of her dental issues in the most kid friendly way. We will continue to use this clinic and would refer it to anyone with children. 2/12/25 We were seen again today at Great Big Smiles in Metairie, this time for my for my 8 year old Autistic son. Dr. Burns and his staff were all very helpful in assisting him for his 6 month cleaning. They were very patient and understanding of his condition and made us feel very comfortable. We drive an hour and a half to go to this dentist and will continue to do so.

Fantastic experience: Dr Nathan Burns has to be the best dentist in my history of living. I have a special needs daughter and his staff including himself is amazing. He makes sure your child’s health and safety comes first before any necessary dental work or cleaning. He is like the dad of his dentist office! Caring, loving but makes sure everything is done in the end. I cannot be more grateful to have him as my daughter’s dentist and cannot wait to experience the next 16 years with him as her dentist. Lindsay who also works for him is so sweet and nice. She will always make sure everything is taken care of but with love! His staff always answer the phone with such a heart warming greeting. Fantastic experience: Great big smiles was a great experience for my daughter and I. They are gentle and kind and make it a smooth easy process for cleanings and dental work. Negative experience: GreatBigSmiles is to Expensive for my Child and also they've just stole his Regular Teeth and I Really Hate It that Dentist Nathan for taking my child's Regular Teeth if your child has a Problems with their teeth it literally costs $1,000 Dollars and beware of them they'll steal your Regular Teeth and also GreatBigSmiles is really really Expensive and sometimes I think that the taxes for $1,000 Dollars is $1,001 Dollars? anyways GreatBigSmiles is not the best for you because once they steal your Regular Teeth they replace with some bad metal teeth that it'll make everyone look Embarrasseing thay makes everyone be angry because of that GreatBigSmiles steals everyones Regular Teeth
This is a very odd review but one I am happy to receive. Thank you. This allows me the opportunity to look at our practice and myself and make sure we are providing the best pediatric dental treatment possible at the highest level of customer service possible. I have tried to look up your name up in our system, but do not see you associated with any patients of record at our practice....so I could not look into your exact situation. Perhaps your significant other was here for the appointments, and something was not communicated exactly to you by them. It does happen. If you feel that a further discussion is needed about this situation, please contact our office and ask to speak with my office manager Sarah. She would be more than happy to try to help you, and would of course bring the situation to my attention. If anyone has been to our practice and spoken with me, you would know that we make every effort to fully inform all parents of all treatment recommendations and why and how we would do it and the costs. My goal is to over inform every parent, so that they can make the best informed decision for their child. And of course, no one has to do any of the treatment recommendations I say. Regardless, I would like to use this as an opportunity to address some of your concerns. First of all, we NEVER do any treatment without me personally first explaining all treatment recommendations to the parents of all of our patients at the exam appointment. The parent then signs a consent stating that they understand the treatment recommendations and then the parent can choose to do the recommended treatment with our practice, do nothing, or go to another practice to get a second opinion. If a parent does want to schedule the recommended treatment, then all costs for the treatment are gone over in detail by my highly trained and educated financial team members so there are no surprises about costs at any point. Again, the parent can choose to schedule the appointment or not... knowing the recommended treatment and the costs. On the day of the treatment appointment before the patient is brought back for the work, my front desk team members again go over the costs, and the parent pays before we do the treatment. Once the patient is seated for their treatment, the assistant goes over the treatment again with the parent. I then come to see the patient and again go over the treatment before we do anything and give all parents the chance to ask any questions before we start. There is no chance at all that a parent is not fully informed of the treatment recommendations or cost before we do any treatment on any patient. Sincerely, Dr. Nathan Burns.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff is excellent!! Friendly front desk, X ray tech was so sweet-it was my 3 year olds first X ray and she made it so easy! The hygienist was awesome-my 3 year old loved her! She was so calm and patient! Dr Burns is so calm and friendly and my 3 year old loves him! Great experience as always. Recommend them to everyone!

Fantastic experience: I visited Great Big Smiles for the first time, with my daughter, and she absolutely loved it. She’s not a fan of dentists at all, but she really liked going to Great Big Smiles. Our dental assistant, Ammy, was amazing, and did a wonderful job at taking care of her with her x-rays and her teeth polishing. My daughter couldn’t stop smiling afterwards. Dr. Burns was amazing as well. I feel great knowing that I found a dentist that my daughter, not only allows them to work in her mouth, but also enjoys being there.
