Negative experience: Went Saturday for an emergency, paid $300 out of pocket for X-rays. Receptionist was unreasonably loud, displaying everyone’s business for the entire waiting room to hear. First of all HIPPA ever heard of it?? Secondly, my emergency wasn’t treated like an emergency, they of courses wanted payment first and made sure you knew. No compassion, Doctors not humble. Then when we actually went to a reputable dentist, THEY REFUSED TO SEND THE X RAYS I PAID OUT OF POCKET FOR. Will be contacting state. Don’t recommend, they will show no compassion and will gladly take your money with no help in return.

Fantastic experience: They have been amazing! Dr B and Jess were great with my tooth removal and so sweet.

Negative experience: Dr Begnochi was/is the worst dentist I have ever met. Even worse than a veterans dentist. He has NO patients relation he acted as if I was an inconvenience to whatever he was doing in his office. He was the most brutal and uncaring and had no time for my little issue. With his attitude I can say it probably goes hand in hand with the rest of the term. And the staff is no better they do not work for the patients they work hard to get every dime from you not your insurance. NO I would not recommend this clinic to my worst enemy. Yes my experience with them was that bad. I was in severe pain for 2 days after that visit. I had to go to the VA ER.

Negative experience: Went here for teeth implants... I went in blindly without doing research and so the dentist recommended the cheapest option a cemented bridge. I didn't know what a bridge was at the time and didn't know what would happen to the bone over time. I payed 14k for a bridge and that's it. I wanted implants but the dentist I seen told me there wasn't enough bone... He never said recommended bone grafts. I feel I was deceived and taken advantage of because I wasn't informed at the time. By the way! They never told me I needed specific floss for the bridge and how to take care of it so it would last. Causing it to fall out so I had to go back to get a replacement. Yeah don't go here for dental implants or any dental care. A bunch of swindlers those stars mean nothing. Find better because there are better options in Wichita KS.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pierson is the absolute best! His assistant, Josh, was amazing. Had to have a molar pulled and everything was completed in under 5 minutes with absolutely no pain. Highly recommend. Will be a forever patient to him and Mr. B! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Negative experience: If you ever have billing issues don't expect to get them resolved. Every time you call you will get a different story depending on who you speak with and they charge you for services you don't receive. The hygienists will tell you you are receiving one service and then the billing department will charge for something you did not receive and were told you no longer needed.

Negative experience: AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I made an appointment for a dental procedure a week in advance. They started the dental procedure, numbed me, and then said the DENTIST WAS ON LEAVE and they WOULD NOT COMPLETE MY PROCEDURE AFTER STARTING IT. Even though other dentists were there, I was told to make another appointment so they could do the whole thing again. When I asked for a manager to talk to, they even admitted the person administering the anesthetic DID NOT READ MY FILE because 'she was new'. SHOCKINGLY NEGLIGENT.

Fantastic experience: I needed a root canal over a crown. I was in excruciating pain. My usual dentist was on vacation. I got into Wichita Family Dentistry the SAME DAY I called. Everyone was so kind ALL the ladies from reception to the dental assistant. Dr. Pierson was just wonderful. I've never had a dental procedure where I didn't have a little discomfort or pain. I had zero discomfort or pain. He continually checked with me if I was doing ok throughout the entire procedure. I wasn't looking for a new dentist, but I found one. Thank you, thank you, I am so impressed!

Fantastic experience: Had to find an Emergency dentist because the VA doesn’t offer any weekend services. Made an appt online and got right in this am. Dr. Dinh and his assistant Josh were very professional, kind and explained everything up front including the cost. I needed a root canal and all was done quickly and efficiently. I’m not a fan of getting work done on my teeth and I explained that to them and they made me feel very comfortable. Would highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: This was by far one of the best experiences I have had with a Dentist. My cleaning was done by Seneke and she was amazing and showed a great Expertise. They found a cavity and were able to perform a filling right after my cleaning. Dr. B and Jess were professional and personable. When they got to work they showed brilliant synergy. I can’t recommend this place enough. They were kind, professional, and showed great expertise. This whole team made my experience painless and a great time.

Fantastic experience: They got me in very quickly after I told them I was in severe pain, Dr P and Jess did a great job and also helped me set up a plan to take care of the rest of my teeth.

Negative experience: They are the absolute worst business I have ever been to in my life. My son went in with a tooth infection on a Saturday. I was glad they were open. We get there they immediately called him to a room. We wasn't even seen for 15 minutes and were sent on our way. They did an X-ray and said they want to remove the tooth $545 but no antibiotics - he's scheduled to have all his top teeth removed - we only needed an antibiotic. The Dr said no so we spent $150 for nothing - immediately drove to urgent care at 31st and Seneca where they gave him a prescription for antibiotics $99 for the visit and $15 for antibiotics (good rx card) would never recommend Wichita Family Dental they do not care about the customers wishes sad They do not even get a one star

Negative experience: This is not an emergency care provider. I went on a Saturday with an extreme toothache and their schedule was packed with appointments. I was not seen and left disappointed and in pain.

Fantastic experience: Seneke did a wonderful job. Very careful and gentle during the process of the deep cleaning. Painless and got the job completed more than efficiently. And she’s super nice as too!

Fantastic experience: Dr B and Jess were really great at communicating through out my whole visit they took care of me and were very helpful and gave me options on solutions !

Fantastic experience: Seneke was great, highly suggest her. She was so kind, informative, patient, and very good at thoroughly explaining everything to me. I learned more here then I have ever been told about my teeth. Give her a raise for real. She's very well educated and good at her job.

Negative experience: I came in for fill-ins and preventative care, but I left with more problems than I started with. The dentist working on my teeth dug so deep into one tooth that now, every time I drink something cold, I experience a massive toothache—a problem I didn’t have before my visit. They recommended a $3,000 root canal to fix it, but when I mentioned getting a second opinion, the dentist suddenly changed course and suggested redoing the filling instead. This sudden shift in diagnosis felt extremely sketchy and dishonest. I haven’t gone back to have the filling redone because the issue is manageable for now, and I’m worried they might make it worse. The whole experience has left me uneasy. Why recommend an expensive root canal and then backtrack when I ask for another opinion? It doesn’t inspire confidence. I’ll be seeking a second opinion to determine whether the dentist was negligent, but I’ll likely never return to this place. Edit: funny all the positive reviews gets a personalized message but a real inquiry... all crickets.

Positive experience: The office is nice, and all the staff are consistently wonderful. I’m knocking off a star from my original rating because every single time I come here it takes at least 20 minutes to be taken back from the waiting room. Doesn’t matter what time it is either because I tried scheduling early morning appointments and it doesn’t make a difference. And then again it seems to take quite a while to be seen by the dentist. I’m not sure why this is but it’s inconvenient. My most recent appointment I went ahead and came in 10 minutes later because I figure what is the point in being on time or early?

Negative experience: I HAD 2 ROOT CANALS DONE & 2 YEARS LATER IM HAVING TO SEE A SPECIALIST TO HAVE THEM REDONE IVE WENT BACK SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THIS PROCEDURE AND TOLD THEM THAT MY TEETH STILL HURTED THEY FILED THE CROWN SAID IT WAS THE BITE NEXT WEEK SOMES STILL SOMTHING WASNT RIGHT SO THEY FILE IT AGAIN WHICH HAS NOW LITTLE TOOTH I VE WASTED DAYS IF WORK AND OVER 2000 TO HAVE TO GET THOS PROCEDURE ALL THE HAVE TO HAVE IT DONE AGAIN I WOULD LET THIS PLACE WORK ON MY DOGS MOUTH I ASKED FOR ALL MY PAPERWORK AND THEY REFUSED TO GIVE IT TO ME

Negative experience: Doctors who saw me messed my fillings up and i had to go back and adjust them. Now you guys are trying to charge me 86 bucks for a mistake your doctors made. Do not come here. Worst dentist office I have ever been too.

Negative experience: This would be a great place to put a dentist. I came in with extreme pain. According to their website and my insurance website, they are in network for United Healthcare. They claimed they no longer were. They quoted my almost 3k and told me if it was in the network, it would be less than half. I asked if they could just help me with the pain for now, and I would find another dentist within my network on Monday. They wouldn't prescribe antibiotics since I wasn't continuing treatment with them. They charged me for my exams and weren't able to do anything else due to them recently leaving my network. It feels like Chuck Pierson didn't want to prescribe antibiotics simply because I wasn't going to be using them for all of my issues. IMO, Chuck Pierson is not a health care provider. He denied it.

Negative experience: Hygienist said all patients need both full Xrays and 360 Halo Xray regardless of the patients need or other medical restrictions. Can't get a general cleaning here without the Xray package. It would be like getting a yearly exam with a doctor and being told you need full body MRI. After 10 years of being told I had to, I said enough and left. This place is more into cosmetic stuff. $$$$$

Negative experience: I came to Wichita Family Dental from out of state to have a crown replaced before going on to a family reunion later in the day. Wichita Family Dental lost track of me twice extending a half hour visit to over two hours! First, after waiting longer than seemed right, I had to remind the front desk of my existence at which point they immediately gave me the room long ready for me that they just hadn't bothered to open. Next a dentist and assistant saw me, said they'd be right back, and completely disappeared! I eventually tracked them down by walking through the halls until I found them, at which point they were casually like, "Oh yeah. Let's replace that crown..." I was glad to have the crown replaced, but it was strange.

Negative experience: Went In for an appointment this morning for tooth pain. I drive 20mins to get there and when I go to check in, the receptionist said “You are here for a cleaning right?!” No mam. I’m here for tooth pain which I told you guys the day before. I got to my appointment at 8:45am. My appointment was scheduled for 9:00am. Didn’t get seen until 9:30-9:45am. Finally get to the back and get checked out. I needed x rays and before they did anything they checked my insurance. Fine but they wanted to make sure they got paid before they would touch me anytime they needed to do anything. I apparently had a bone spur and the dentist literally looked at me and sent me on my way. No pain meds, suggested salt water and gargle but that’s it. He did refer me to an oral surgeon to have a consultation to have it filed down possibly. Long story short, it was a waste of time and I could have just stayed home in pain for the services provided. Don’t waste your time unless you want to pay out of pocket for everything. They are more focused on money making than they are their patients. Next time I will just wait and see my dentist at Rock Road Dental. They actually care about their patients and don’t focus on money.

Negative experience: Very much money hungry. First, receptionists are very unprofessional while on the phone. Very rude. Second, it seems if the dental assistants can’t convince you to add on another service and spend more money, the bosses get visibly upset and demand the dental assistants to keep bothering you until you agree to more treatment. Very passive aggressive towards their own workers. Especially Chuck Pierson. 0/10 Would not recommend !

Negative experience: Very disappointed about how they handled my brothers appointment. Only consented to a root canal but they did a build up and wanted to proceed with the crown after specifying many times that he is getting the crown/build up else where. He was then charged for it because it was already done without his knowledge even tho we were told last time that he would not owe anything else to have the root canal finished and they would do ONLY THE RCT. Situation was messy and had no accountability on their part. Just trying to make a quick buck on their patient.

Fantastic experience: I had to get a tooth a pulled and I was very nervous. Abby was my dental assistant, and she was very great. She helped me stay comfortable and she was very sweet.the doctor was also very kind and did an awesome job extracting my tooth. It took 2 minutes to get my tooth out I was thoroughly impressed and will be back!

Negative experience: I call today reschedule my appointment for Saturday three days before my appointment they told me I will be lost my deposit because I have to call 7 days before the appointment that's incredible how they steal the money from their patients so please careful with this ridiculous policy that they have because they never told me that not body said anything until you need to reschedule the appointment

Fantastic experience: I had an abscessed tooth that was killing me. I called and was able to go right in. I am terrified of going to the dentist but they were fantastic. They made me feel very comfortable and took very good care of me. I am very grateful for their kindness to me they are my heros. I will continue to go to them for all my dental needs and I highly recommend it! They are now building me a bridge and are taking care of my fillings among other things. I haven't been able to smile in a long time and they gave that back to me. It's an amazing place with friendly people and I will continue to go there for my dental needs. Add on: I have now been going there for around 5 or 6 months consistently. I have my smile back for the 1st time in years. They made me a beautiful bridge for my front teeth. I get regular cleanings and I haven't met anyone there that wasn't friendly. My phobia of the dentist is going away I absolutely will not go anywhere else.

Negative experience: These people are horrible: i needed a couple fillings done and though the lady did the actual fillings properly, she for whatever reason decided to drill them all the way back out leaving me with painful holes all over my teeth. I had one filling that was done by a different dentist that was giving me a hard time as well because it wasn't completely aligned and drilled that one all the way out as well. And when i confronted the dental office they ignored me and refused to do anything about it. Dont go here if you appreciate your teeth: they will deliberately Sabotage your teeth claiming if they do it any other way it would be insurance fraud. And dont want to take responsibility for their actions because they just want the insurance money they dont care about their patience at all. This office should be shut down immediately.

Negative experience: The other day I went in for emergency services, I don’t have insurance and at the time I didn’t have a lot of cash on me. All I had was $38. The dentist looked at my teeth said “poor girl you must be in so much pain” told me I needed 9 teeth removed. Then they walked me out. I was in so much pain I was literally crying. They did nothing for me, did not offer to write a med script or anything for the infection that I have, did not give me a shot for the pain. They did absolutely nothing. All because I didn’t have the $243 for them. I asked if we could do some type of payment plan or anything. I could have paid the $38 right then and pay more later. That wasn’t good enough. Everyone is so money hungry these days they forget that people have emergencies and can be struggling as well. I know that they could have done something but they chose not to. The only reason I’m giving them a 2 star is because they were kind and professional but the situation and how they handled it was extremely sad. They had no sympathy at all. I would not recommend this place. I ended up having to go to the ER to get antibiotics and pain meds for this infection.

Fantastic experience: Dr B MK Maddy @Wichita Family Dentist are the best dentist I have ever been to The staff are very mice and professional. I will recommend WFD to anyone that needs a great dentist. They did a great job in a short period of time. Love yall

Absolutely recommended! Nov 2024 - Had a root canal today, and it was very stress free and painless. Everything went very smoothly and I even got my permanent crowns the same day.

Fantastic experience: I have awful anxiety when it comes to dental work, Ellen, Jess, the anesthesiologist and Dr. B were awesome and encouraging the whole time. Never felt rushed and they made it a good experience!

Negative experience: When I scheduled an appointment I was told that my insurance was in network i made an apt and paid out of pocket around $500+ whatever insurance covered for a crown. Then a few weeks later I get a txt saying I have and additional balance due so when I called to inquire she said it was an additional $181 because they are out of network and her front desk didn’t really check they just seen the name and assumed it was in network(Her words)She was rude and didn’t understand why I was upset by this balance because I could have checked with my insurance myself before scheduling (my bad) so even if you call and ask them and they call your insurance give you an estimate, you have the work done and pay the bill…. they will hit you up for more money after, I’ve never had this happen at a previous dentist. It’s unfortunate because the dental hygienist and dentist there all seem really great but every interaction with the front desk associates wasn’t great and they are the first and last interaction a patient has.

Fantastic experience: The best care I have ever received at a dental office. Dr. B is kind, gentle, caring, patient, first priority is what’s best for his patients! Jess is an amazing dental assistant!!!!!! Everyone took such great care of me! They even have snuggly blankets available!!!!!

Negative experience: Called main number. I politely explained we are self pay and looking to gather pricing information before scheduling. I said specifically can I get a general price range for a new crown. I said I realize there are other charges but a range exists on crowns. I was told nope. Lady said I'm a receptionist. You want to know prices? Make an appt come in and see a doctor. So no pricing transparency. None. Simply asked for a price range. Impossible. So. No price transparency is a real issue!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pierson and Jess were awesome today. My first ever implant and I was nervous. But it was not at all painful. Best dentist in town!!

Negative experience: Would not recommend this office. On my first visit I was told I needed a lot of additional procedures, and it hadn’t been that long since my last visit to a dentist. After going back for half of the procedures, I decided I didn’t want to return. The anesthetic was starting to wear off before they finished, as it was taking a long time. My jaw is still sore, a couple weeks later. I paid for a dental device that they never delivered. One more note in case anyone from this practice reads this; you really should change out water stained ceiling tiles. Your patients are laying in chairs with nothing to look at except the ceiling.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency extraction done by Dr. Schmalz on a Saturday. I was in quite a bit of pain going in, the entire staff was so kind and informative and took great care of me. I will definitely recommend them and will be going back for my future dental needs.

The fact they were willing to see my daughter at 2pm on a Saturday to bond her chipped front tooth and make it a great experience is what won me over! Negative experience: **Terrible Billing Practices** I had a cavity removed at this dental office and paid the full amount they requested on the same day. The dentist even confirmed that I was all set and didn't owe anything further. However, to my surprise, I later received a message saying I still owed $129. This is completely unacceptable, as I was told by the doctor I was good to go, and everything was settled. Their billing practices seem disorganized and misleading. I trusted that I had paid everything in full, but now I'm being asked for more money. Be cautious if you decide to use their services!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a lot of work done with Dr B! I recommend him to anyone who asks. Overall best dental experience I’ve had. Had work done today with Dr. B & Jess. Both friendly, welcoming, patient and did an amazing job!

Fantastic experience: While it's never fun to go to the dentist, Dr. Pierson and his staff have made my root canal and crown about as pleasant as I think possible. Everyone treated me with kindness and understanding, and I was able to get in for my tooth pain the same day I called. I would recommend to anyone!

Fantastic experience: I choose this dentist office after reading a lot of reviews and I'm happy I did. My first time back to the dentist after many years was nerve-racking but the staff were all very patient and understanding. Had to go the East office for pain that led to a root canal and again the staff were all wonderful. One of those services none of us want to need but if you want top level care, I highly recommend Wichita Family Dental.

Fantastic experience: Great experience with Dr. B and assistant Jess! Had to get a root canal-- they got me right in and got it done the same day I called. No pain at all-- they numbed me up really well!

Fantastic experience: Wow! This experience far exceeded my expectations. My tooth broke last night, they got me in at 7 am as a new patient! One visit and it's all being taken care of! Leaving crowned! Thank you to Dr. B, Jess, Courtney and Maddy for taking great care of me even through my "dental fears". Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My permanent crown from 2016 fell out over the weekend. Due to my dental phobia, I felt feelings of immediate panic and fear. I called Wichita Family Dental today and they got me scheduled at the West office. I told them of my fears and they treated me with the utmost respect and dignity (as they have done on previous visits) and were kind and reassuring throughout the procedures. I would give them 10 stars if that was an option. These are caring and compassionate people. I would highly recommend them. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I appreciate that they always get me in for quick appointments and are willing to honestly and openly discuss my options. I had my crowns and a bridge installed by Wichita Family Dentists and it was a really excellent experience. I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Seneke was VERY professional and courteous. She explained the procedure and the home care in detail and was pleasant to converse with. I would recommend her to others without hesitation.

Negative experience: I called to get a quote for a cleaning and xrays since I don't have insurance and I need to know if I can afford to come here and the receptionist response was we can't do that. You need to make an appointment foe the cleaning and they will go over that with you. Defeats the purpose of seeing if I can afford it. When asked to talk to a manager/supervisor her response was, well you can but they will tell u the same thing. Can't say this a business I would even want to give my money to.

Fantastic experience: Had my teeth cleaned by Seneke and a checkup of my pearly whites by Dr. Dinh. Never have I been so cavity free. My teeth have never sparkled so brightly. They also gave me a delicious sweet baked good on my way out. I was perplexed, after all is the sweet not the enemy of dental hygiene? The root cause of cavities? But then I realized, they were guaranteeing return business. I respect the hustle, the grind, the audacity of placing the downfall of your own teeth into your hand as you walk out the door to ensure that you come back. Five Stars

Fantastic experience: After days of suffering from wisdom tooth pain and getting no luck with getting seen anywhere, Wichita Family Dental got me in within 30 minutes of calling. Hands down the best people I’ve ever met ! Abby took really good care of me from the moment I got there. I can’t thank them enough! 10/10 I highly recommend!!
