Fantastic experience: By far the best experience I've ever had. I've been done wrong by many dentists these people from the front desk to post op are great. I understood everything they were kind did not judge my past just took care of me and I can never thank them enough

Negative experience: The dental assistant/tech performing my initial assessment and X-ray was personable. When questioning the estimated charges for services she nor the office manager could substantiate the reasoning for a non clinically based 'premium charge' that would essentially triple the cost of the proposed services. I elected not to move forward with the proposed services and will not be returning to Luma Dentistry in the future.

Fantastic experience: Maddie was so sweet and explained everything I was going to get done. Dr. Molisani was thorough and friendly. He explained what to expect with my new night guard and when I should contact them. He was kind not only to me but to his staff as well. Highly recommend Luma Dentistry!

Negative experience: My daughter went in for a routine cleaning. The dentist took a look at her gums and then proceeded to charge her periodontal work. Ridiculous and very untrustworthy.

Fantastic experience: I kept the same dentist for over 15years, and can't say that I loved them. With him, I was always nervous/anxious for each appointment, as I knew he usually had something else for me to do. When I moved to McCalla, I found Luma! They have made the transition so easy. Every time I call, the receptionists are eager to help, and are super nice, even if I have to cancel. They have always been so nice. I really like the hygienists and dentists too. They are friendly and accommodating. Thank you Luma!

Fantastic experience: This is the best place for family dentistry. I’ve always had a great experience from the front desk and beyond. My crown was loose and I was able to schedule an appointment to get it fixed. The process was quick and painless.

Fantastic experience: Had tooth pain over the weekend and made an appointment on Monday for Wednesday. Quick in and out and they were very cordial especially since it was sinus pressure causing my tooth pain and not the tooth! Thank you for giving me peace of mind about it!

Positive experience: I really appreciate that Luma got me in so quick. Everything when great, except I was not told anything about what to expect once the novacain wore off. I wasn't given any instructions on the post care unless I asked, but I was a little out of it. I was in so much pain once the novacaine wore off. It just seems like the dentist would have given me some post care instructions and what to expect. Haley, the dental assistant was great and answered the questions I asked.

Fantastic experience: It is a fun place to be. The problem I have is the place is looking run down, lots of paint chips and the seat I was given for teeth cleaning had lots of cracks in the seat like a worn out hospital bed mattress ,to have to put my head on this with clean clothes afterwards I felt dirty. Nurse nice job done quickly but was left waiting for the Dr that felt like for ever. The extent of decaying teeth since last visit I was left wondering but I did not want to be on a look dirty surgical bed, so I was outta there. Just my thoughts of what I saw and experience the place needs a clean floor hight wise and a car seat cover and paint chips cleaned up so it doesn’t look so poor and bring it up to the standards it use to have.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Gray and his assistant. My insurance wouldn’t cover the services I needed, but the price was reasonable. They had me all squared away within 30 minutes. I highly recommend this doctor and facility.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. Had a surgical procedure. They didn’t explain it. Administered nitrous oxide left the room. I passed out and came to with dentist rubbing my chest and saying we gave you a little to much gas. Finished procedure and sent me home with no instructions. ZERO PATIENT EDUCATION!! Never go there again

Negative experience: Been coming to this place for the last 14 years while I had insurance. Recently lost my job and had to come in for a simple cleaning. Girl at the desk tells me 194$ and it would be extra 100$ if I had to get X-rays done. Get in the back and a different girl tells me I have to get X-rays I ask her if that's going to cost me and she says no then proceeds to do them. I get to front desk and the girl is like oh sorry looks like it's gunna be 300$. No thanks I'll take my biz elsewhere

Fantastic experience: Luma Dentistry is the BEST!! From the receptionist to hygienist to the checkout. My hygienist was soooo reassuring and gentle, I was able to relax throughout the procedure. I regret that I can't remember her name at this time .However, she did remember me from my previous appointment which was over six months ago! I remembered her face and immediately relaxed when she escorted me to the exam room. Please do not hesitate to contact Luma Dentistry for ALL your dental needs. Fantastic experience: My visit was so pleasant today! The dental hygienist, Andi, was friendly, gentle yet thorough in cleaning my teeth. She did a great job and was concerned not to cause me any unnecessary discomfort. Dr. Manly check my teeth afterward and reassured me that my teeth were cleaned properly. He checked for any other concerns, advised treatment, and I was on my way in about 30 - 40 minutes. I highly recommend this dental office.

Positive experience: My husband broke his partial and they determined he did not have to make a new impression but the lab was already closed for Christmas. It was Christmas Eve eve, they glued it back together and he had them back by lunch time. That’s going above and beyond so he wouldn’t be embarrassed about his teeth.

Fantastic experience: Hailey was very helpful with my exrays this morning, and Dr. Gray was very thorough in explaining the dental road that lies ahead of me! I am looking forward to the destination. Here a year later, what I learned from this: This dentist has the NASTIEST work place known to man, gave me Covid which I had been lucky to avoid up til this, said I needed a deep clean, where Dr Gray said he would have to remove my crowns on bottom row first (???) as I raised up in the chair after he sedated me, I saw my crowns that were PERFECT, crumbled to pieces. He charged me $14,000. I was not expecting this and these people are out to take advantage of other people. Not only was this deceitful, my teeth were never aligned to “bite” normally again and he is not an expert except fraud.

Negative experience: Every time I have been there for my 2 x a year cleaning they Are always trying to Upsell me. This last time with a fabricated diagnoses to upsell for a “gum treatment”. I have never had any gum issues and I Have never had a cavity. Confirmed by my new dentist.

Negative experience: The dentist was wonderful, the dental hygienist was wonderful, BUT the young girls up front, have no idea what their doing. They show up to work to hang out and talk about patients. It was awkward because they laugh right in your face. Very awkward ..lol. You could give them your insurance three times and they still wouldn't know how to put it in the computer. I even witnessed one girl write down my insurance card info bc she was too lazy or didn't know how to work the computer. Even after showing up in person (after calling beforehand twice) they still didn't have my updated insurance in the computer (even though it's been given to them multiple times and they confirmed they had it). I don't know how they even get to work in the mornings..it's quite scary to know these kids have access to patient info. So they never put it in the computer and just lied? Who knows?! Even after a week, I'm still waiting on a call to see if they got my updated insurance put in. Lol. She even gave me an appointment that's a year from now. Even though the dentist said I need to come back in the next couple weeks? ‍♀️ Looks like I'll be waiting awhile. Ya know whatever...I mean I guess I'll find another dentist?

Negative experience: I had good dental service. However th financial area I and disappointed in, I made a major payment to cover a procedure and was informed that my deposit has been used to off set what my insurance didn't cover. I had a conversation with a dental patient on the day I made my service deposit, she warned me about this possibly happening, she had a situation where she was charged, and then owed more at end. She actually walked into the room where AI was being been as asked to speak to me once I was done, she was so kind to wait for me and shared her experience. It's just like she said. Overall the dental service is ok, however bI will be sure to get anything else in a very detailed estimate with my insurance verification that I will do myself. Sonya B

Negative experience: The dentist I met was nice enough. Just seems like it's all about cosmetic dentistry and money. You can definitely tell they are a corporate ran dentist office and not private owned. He told me about a couple of crowns I had done recently and wouldn't even work with the other dentist about them being put in wrong. Wasn't a completely bad experience just feel like another dentist is in my future. It wasn't the experience I expected from all the excellent reviews.

Fantastic experience: Love this dentist office. As soon as you walk in the door you can see they care about thier patients. The seats in the waiting area are comfy. They have a air purifier as well as multiple receptionists at the desk to sign you in instead of one person. When you get to the back they provide efficient and quality care. I have yet to have to seen another practice care about thier patients as much as this one does.

Negative experience: We have never had so many billing issues with a dental office. Every time I receive a bill, I call, I don’t receive a call back from the office. It should not take 4 months to file a claim.

Fantastic experience: I needed help with my hybrid implants. I got my hybrids in FL. I went to sooo many dentists in the Birmingham area. Some had never seen hybrid implants & others only did single implants - none did the entire hybrids! Dr. Gray at Luma knew exactly what to do - he was very knowledgeable. His staff is knowledgeable, as well! I just cannot say enough great things about Dr. Gray, Jennifer Tucker and other staff. So fortunate to have found Luma and have work accomplished by Dr. Gray!
