Fantastic experience: Enjoyed my visit,the staff was wonderful and put me at ease . The only thing I don't understand about dentist offices is ,why don't they have any doors on the rooms? The excessive noise for some is unsettling especially it's drills and such. Just wondering, that's it

We do have a TV and radio in each room, and it is always an option to turn up the volume to suit your needs. It is indeed rare to find doors on dental office rooms; many of our patients have told us we have a much more calming environment compared with other offices they have visited.
Negative experience: Having recently moved into the area and seeking a new dentist, I had high expectations for selecting Rotem Dental based upon other reviews I read online. Unfortunately, my experience was at best “average”. Overall, my initial visit fell short in the several areas: 1. Once X-rays were taken, I waited at least 35-45 minutes before the hygienist came in for the cleaning. There may have been a reasonable explanation for the delay, but I was not provided an explanation or an apology for the delay. 2. The cleaning appeared to be very short and quick. It may have been a result of the prior delays, but it did seem somewhat rushed. Additionally, prior hygienists have always flossed my teeth after the cleaning, but that was not done with this visit. Also, periodontal probing typically done as part of cleanings was not included. 3. While the dentist’s exam was thorough, it did not include an oral cancer exam of my mouth and throat. Maybe they don’t do it at Rotem, but it was always included with prior dental exams I was part of.
Sorry to hear we did not live up to your expectations. Many of our patients have found that having their teeth flossed twice a year by the hygienist does not make a difference in their oral health compared with flossing at home on a regular basis.
Fantastic experience: The best dental office I have ever been to. When I moved out of Toms River and tried local offices in my area I was severely disappointed. I have been going to Rotem for years and I usually see Dr. Feliz but the other doctors are great as well!

Positive experience: disappointed I couldn't get a appointment sooner than 30 days for the Endodontist and had to put up 3/4 of the price so I put it on a charge card and they charged me a 3% service fee. I think the service fee is not necessary, especially because I can't get a appointment for a whole month In which they will have my $750 for a whole month before I actually see a doctor Which they can make money on for that month by floating my miney also, this company uses a call center in the Philippines there's no personal feeling here And trying to get a message to the office is impossible
We’re sorry to hear of your concerns. However, the fee is charged by the credit card company, not our practice; we don’t see any of that money. We offer this service with our endodontic specialist as a convenience for our patients so they can keep their care within our office. The specialist requires a deposit, and that is out of our hands, unfortunately. If it is not convenient for you or their requirements are not to your liking you can always set an appointment with a specialist who is local to you and whose policies align with yours.

Negative experience: Had an appointment then told me it was never scheduled. Then had another appointment and it was canceled as well.. just went to a different place as I was in pain and needed treatment

We are often complemented by our current and new patients that we get people in quickly and on short notice. Our new and existing patients even have the option of scheduling themselves online so they can set up an appointment whenever it is convenient for them to do so. Fantastic experience: I was a new patient. Came in for a choice of root canal or extration. Took extraction.. staff was very accommodating and sweet. Dr was professional and very gently. Gave me numbing and never felt the needle. Extration was smooth and done within 30 mins. Highly recommended. Minimal pain afterwards. Thank you Rotem Dental, staff and doctor for a great experience

Negative experience: SHADY. Called to find out if they were IN NETWORK with Delta Dental and the person did everything she could to not answer a simple yes or no question. After asking 3 times I still didn't get a straight answer. I don't care if my cleaning would be covered 100%, I need an answer to the question.
Unfortunately, it is no longer a simple question. We take and participate in many plans, but within each insurance company there are multiple plans. Not only do they have many levels of benefits, but they also vary in levels of participation. Ultimately what we have found to be most important to our patients is that we help them minimize their out-of-pocket cost. And those are the questions and answers that we focus on to help you do that. We have many patients with Delta insurance; the reason they are here is because we look out for their best interests and because of the great care we provide for them. While you say that you don’t care if your cleaning is covered 100%, most of our patients do, and as a matter of fact that is often their priority. Sorry we were not able to help you in the way you would have liked to be helped, we wish you the best in your future dental home.
Fantastic experience: This was my first time seeing Dr. Feliz who my parents highly recommend. She was very personable, explained all the steps of what was going to be done as well as what would happen with my follow up appointment for the crown placement.

Negative experience: This dental office is horrible care. Left an 81 year-old with a swollen face no antibiotics and no care over a weekend after being seen and paid out of pocket. The doctors don’t care about anything but making money I wouldn’t bring my dog to this dental office.
Since you stated that you are a nurse, you must know that when a patient is currently taking antibiotics for a dental infection you would not prescribe a second antibiotic to be taken at the same time. You would also know that when someone has an extensive medical history, is taking multiple medications and undergoing multiple medical treatments for serious conditions, you cannot just prescribe medications to them randomly. When people are on serious medications, you have to clear it with their physician before you can add medications to what they are already taking. This is all done to ensure their safety. In addition to ensuring their safety, at times they need to be referred to a specialist like an oral surgeon. If the patient would like to contact us directly, we would be happy to speak with them.

Negative experience: These people are the biggest scam artists in the dental game, they made me pay over 2k up front and I can not get reimbursed because my insurance company is telling me no matter how many times they call/email/mail for the x rays they are ignored. I have called this office over 20 times and Aneesa who answers the phone is the most incompetent employee I have encountered in any field of work, I would only recommend going here if you want to get robbed, they are more interested in their radio advertisements then providing quality service, I would not be shocked if they are out of business within the year, they got too big for their own good and do not care a bout the consumer RESPONSE: After this post I got reimbursed $650 that insurance paid Rotem a month earlier the day I left this review, also the insurance company contacted me and told me that the x rays were submitted and they gave me a new claim # on the very same day, also I got my first call back from the office the same day after calling 23 times NEVER getting a call back since I paid out of pocket in Feb, those are 100% facts. The dentist and their staff doing the actual work were great, the office staff is a complete and utter disaster. UPDATE: Insurance paid Rotem the additional $900.00 dollars after they were finally able to get the X-rays, insurance paid them on 5/14, I have called 10 times since and still cannot get an answer from anyone on why they refuse to pay me what I am owed, seems like they are trying to keep it for themselves, I paid $2200.00 in FEBURARY and this has still not been settled, awful business.
We’re sorry to hear of your frustrations. Is it possible that your insurance company is misinforming you? We sent all the necessary and required documentation for your visit. The type of x-ray we took and sent your insurance company has everything they asked for. When an insurance company asks for a Panoramic x-ray – it includes all the teeth. What you are saying is they want the same thing we sent them to be sent again. Not something different but the same exact thing that was sent – who is playing you? If you knew a little bit about x-rays you would know they are delaying your money for no reason because they already have what they are asking for. We are not sure where the scam is on our end. We told you what it would cost to do the treatment and that’s it. There is no additional cost; we are not getting any more money for the procedures we did than what we told you verbally and in writing. You are not complaining about the treatment you received, how well you were taken care of and how we were able to get you in quickly to take care of your issues. Thus, it appears we provided you with quality care. We have been around for almost 30 years because of the care we provide our patients. People keep coming back and new people keep coming in because of the care we provide. We have done everything required and requested of us towards your reimbursement.

Fantastic experience: Went in for emergency appointment, they were the only one who would take me in within a few days! Great high tech x rays (finally no biting down in hard plastic that makes you want to cry) and caring staff. Referred me to a great oral surgeon and had my took extracted same day. Ended up becoming a patient here and look forward to my first cleaning at Rotem.

Negative experience: I would give negative stars if I could. This place is a scam. They lied about what insurance they take on the phone. No one said anything about the insurance until AFTER I was seen by a "Dentist" which was nice but didn't specialize extraction of a fractured tooth. Replying: the scam is that I was TOLD by.the younger and older woman at the check out oldest my insurance was NOT accepted. Plus I checked my insurance and they said it was out of network. If MAYBE someone with a good personality and work ethic would tell patients BEFORE they sat in the chair, this wouldn't keep going on. Your business was reported.
We’re sorry to hear of your concerns. We do take that insurance; as a matter of fact, many of our patients have that insurance. As you well know, your plan is a restrictive one that only allows you to go to a very limited number of dentists. It would have been helpful if you disclosed that from the beginning. We got you in on short notice on a Saturday, we offered to have the dentist who specializes in extractions do the treatment that day for you, but you refused. Where is the scam here?

Negative experience: Serious issue with preforming procedures they should know in advance that your insurance will not cover thus leaving the patient a 300 plus dollar balance on the tab, then telling me the patient “don’t worry they will eat it” I will never use this business again I am checking weekly to make sure they don’t put this unpaid payment on my credit report. I will probably be consulting an attorney when or if this event occurs. End nite they don’t even give you mouth wash to rinse or a toothbrush, toothpaste, or dental floss upon completion. PATHETIC EXPERIENCE.
Did you perhaps intend to review another dental practice in the area? No one uses the phrase “they will eat it” at our office. Fantastic experience: I've been going to Dr Rotem for many years. From the moment you arrive the staff is so welcoming and you never have to wait to be seen. Joy, the dental hygienist is wonderful . My cleanings have resulted in improvement of my teeth and gums. Dr Rotem gives you advice on your future care to keep your teeth healthy. I trust him and know I should follow any recommendations he shares. He is painless and uses all the newest equipment and techniques. I highly recommend Dr Rotem .

Fantastic experience: This is the best Dental practice I have ever been to in my life!! As a child I was traumatized by the dentist and since then I have the worst fear and anxiety of them, even just walking into the building, but I really needed to go and put it off for as long as I could. They were so understanding of my fear and did everything to make me comfortable. Thank you so much, Dr. Tawadros and the dental assistant that helped to keep me calm and my mind off of what was about to happen. I honestly couldn't have done it without you! A++++

Fantastic experience: I had to make an emergency appointment on Saturday and ended up needing to get a tooth extracted. Not only were they able to squeeze me in same day for the extraction and bone graft, but I did not even have too long of a wait. The office staff and dental assistants were so attentive during my short wait. The procedure was quick and easy. Dr. Mike was great and even made sure to call me for a follow up yesterday, taking time from his Sunday and Mother’s Day celebrations. I would definitely recommend Rotem to anyone.

Fantastic experience: It was my first visit to Rotem dentistry for a cleaning and check up. The introductory new patient offer was unbeatable, 2 full sets of X-rays, exam and incredibly though cleaning. Staff is professional and polite. Fantastic experience: I took my son here because he had a broken tooth and offer sedation dentistry. He has severe anxiety and everyone was very friendly and understanding. Made him feel more at ease. Kylie and Lauren helped him with x-rays and they were both excellent!

Fantastic experience: I know going to the dentist with a horrible toothache can be very traumatic. Having said that, when I entered the office I was met by very cheerful young ladies and from there on the whole visit was so extremely comfortable and reassuring. There was great music to listen to while being treated and very cheerful technicians performing the diagnostic procedures. Dr. Rotem was very informative about the procedure, made sure I was extremely comfortable and pain free. Did a great job. As I write this it's been two days after the extraction and I am totally pain free.

We work on verifying insurance ahead of time when we are provided with all the information. While it seems straightforward, that is not always the case. Sometimes the information is not always readily available; we don’t want to tell you that you have coverage and then send you a bill when it turns out that you don’t. Fantastic experience: It was my first visit and I was very nervous because I knew I needed extensive work done. Negative experience: When you call to verify that they take your insurance you never get a straight answer. They tell you many patients are pleased with their services. They tell you to make an appointment to come in to verify insurance. They keep trying to sell the 79.99 first time new patient special. It literally sounds like they are reading from a script.

For those patients who do not have insurance, or whose insurance does not cover cleanings for example, we do offer our patients an easy way to move forward with a New Patient Visit of $79. This covers the x-rays, cleaning and exam by the doctor; you are not likely to find a better deal than that. Unfortunately, the insurance question has gotten more complicated. It used to be that providers like MetLife, Blue Cross & Blue Sheild had one plan. Meaning that if you had that insurance, everyone on that insurance had the same coverage. That is not the case anymore. With each insurance company, there are dozens of plans. They not only vary in fee schedules, they also vary in what they will cover. While it might sound like a straightforward question, with some patients’ insurance, it is not. This means that two people can walk in with MetLife insurance, and what the insurance will cover and pay is totally different. We do our best to help our patients figure out exactly what their insurance will cover. Let us know if you have additional questions. Thank you.

Negative experience: They have NO RESPECT for people's time. My appointment was at 3:30 p.m. I arrived at 3:15 p.m. There were no patients in the clinic. Then other people arrived, and they started seeing everyone else, but not me. I spoke to them, and they said they would see me. I left at 4:10 p.m. (almost an hour) without receiving any attention. I do not recommend them at all.
This is absolutely our fault, and we are so very sorry for the frustrations and inconvenience we caused you. You arrived early, we had all your paperwork, there was no reason for any delay to bring you into the treatment room. One of our assistants made a mistake and took in another patient instead of you. We wouldn’t wait for an hour either if not brought back in that time, and we don’t blame you for leaving. We certainly did not create a great impression that would make someone want to stay under these circumstances. That is not how we operate in general; most of our patients can tell you that we run on time, especially compared with most other healthcare offices they have been to. Company does not respond to review or complaints, changes subject ** As a 14-year private practice owner, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Business Consultant, I strongly recommend that this office hire an office manager or financial manager—someone clients can speak to about concerns. After multiple requests, I was never able to reach anyone for assistance. I was shocked by how this business operates, bouncing patients between the dentist and the front desk, both of whom seemed frustrated with each other for lacking information. I encountered confusion, miscommunication, and a lack of accountability. On at least two occasions, I arrived for an appointment only to be told they couldn’t provide the promised service and was sent away. While the staff is kind, they clearly lack the necessary support to manage logistics effectively. This is a management issue. Without someone overseeing client satisfaction and operational flow, this practice risks becoming nothing more than a cash-driven system. For example, I was advised to get four crowns. I started with one, approved a quote, and confirmed the price with the front desk multiple times before scheduling my appointment. However, when I arrived, I was suddenly told the price had increased by hundreds of dollars due to an insurance adjustment—without any prior notice. When I asked for time to verify this, I was told doing so would result in me losing my appointment. This is unethical. Additionally, the fine print on the invoice (in near-illegible small print) stated that prices could change at any time based on insurance. I asked if they would honor the original quote, but they refused, demanding an extra $300. If I didn't pay that day, they threatened to throw out the crown. I was appalled—rather than honoring the agreed-upon price, they preferred to waste the product unless they could make an extra 25%. Following this experience, I consulted multiple other dental offices. Three different providers quoted me a price that aligned with my original quote from Rodem, not the inflated one they later demanded. More importantly, after further examination, a new dentist confirmed that I didn’t even need the additional crowns. I ultimately switched to a practice in Freehold, where an office manager handled everything professionally and transparently—completely unlike my experience at Rodem. I’m glad others have had positive experiences, but if you require anything beyond routine care—especially if you have chronic illnesses, complex concerns, or need clear financial communication—I strongly recommend going elsewhere. This review should come as no surprise, as I voiced my concerns to staff and received no response. Based on their replies to other critical reviews, it seems this practice prefers to dismiss complaints rather than take responsibility. A reputable business should use feedback to improve, not deflect blame onto customers. The best response would be an acknowledgment of these issues and a commitment to ethical, patient-centered improvements. Update- as you see the reply below in the photo from RODEM has nothing to do with what my post said. Be weary of companies who gaslight or change the subject. My post wasn't about a diagnoses code and again, if you actually read and took my complaint seriously I wouldn't received the canned response that is actually saying, we don't care.

Negative experience: Reply Revised Well unfortunately your completely wrong, I drove to the office yesterday 3/27, Carina was extremely helpful, solved my issue, and magicly the refunds posted today. The reply says by owner if that's true perhaps you should do more research before you reply, and to add to it, dates of service were in Nov and Dec of 2024 , no claim was even sent to the insurance company until we called in late Jan , that's 100% verifiable if you choose to check. Unfortunately you have poor practices and no way of speaking with anyone that can help with issues, shame because my wife did like the care she received, but it's not worth a 4 month run around!! This office has a terrible billing staff, they owe me over 1000 dollars, after I paid the bill and the insurance company paid them and now the money owed back to me has not been paid for months, you call there you get the run around, Janet the office manager has never once returned my call, it's been 3 months of trying to get paid from them, service dates were back in Nov 24 but they never submitted the claims until two months later . Never seen anything like it !!!
We did file the insurance on time, within 2-3 days after the treatment was done. We did not receive any payment from the insurance company until March. Your insurance company may have told you they were going to pay, but they did not do so until very recently. You are not the patient and we will not discuss anyone’s treatment – including your wife’s – without her permission. We have communicated with your wife several times regarding this matter as we have waited for your insurance company to make the payment they promised you. We cannot refund any money that we have not received. When we receive money that is above what you agreed to pay for the procedure, that will be owed to you and will be refunded.
Negative experience: Don’t give them your credit card to charge every month because when you decide to stop, they keep charging you and then when they block your number so you can’t call him to straighten it out you go to a different Voicemail and get pushed away so be careful
We’re sorry for your frustrations. However, you are talking about $19 in total that was reimbursed to you within 3 weeks of the request. Your companion signed up for our IDP, which costs $199 – or $19 per month – for 2 cleanings, x-rays and exams per year, as well as a number of other treatment discounts. When someone contacts us to discontinue the plan, it takes about a week to finalize the process. This was not quick enough for you, so you contacted the administration company of the charges to dispute the charge. When you do that our hands are tied and we cannot do anything on our part anymore; it is all on their schedule. You could have waited a few more days for the $19 but you opted to take an alternate route that took longer. We don’t have any blocked numbers on our phone system, so we are not sure what exactly you are referring to. When you call our office you will either get a live person or voicemail. We hope that clarifies things for you, and we wish you the best.

Fantastic experience: Joy is an outstanding hygienist. She is pleasant, knowledgeable, caring and gentle. I have gum disease and she has done the deep cleaning on my teeth. Fantastic experience: I’ve been receiving my dental treatment from this office for over 7 years. I would give it 10 stars if I could. The office staff is very, very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I am always seen within 15 minutes of my schedule time. The office is clean, bright, and comfortable. I find it very easy to communicate with the office whenever I call. Negative experience: I recently visited Rotem Dental and was informed that I needed a root canal. To secure the appointment, I was required to leave a deposit of over $700, which I put on one of my credit cards. Although I found this procedure unusual, I went ahead because I needed the root canal. Later, I decided against having the procedure and requested a refund. However, the refund process has been nothing short of a nightmare. Typically, I would expect a refund to be processed quickly through the card machine, with the amount credited back to my credit card. Unfortunately, this was not the case with Rotem Dental. Instead, I had to sign a document and send it back so they could issue a check. It has now been over three weeks, and I still haven't received my refund. Additionally, whenever I call their office, I am always connected to the same lady who answers the phone. It's impossible to speak with anyone else, and she only relays messages and then calls me back. This entire experience has been frustrating and unacceptable. I will never go there again. They have lost my business. Rotem Dental, you really need to change your processes. It's terrible.

We have a root canal specialist who comes in to our office, because at times it has been difficult for patients to get an appointment with an outside specialist because they are so busy. This is a benefit we provide our patients. Because their time is limited, a payment is expected to schedule with the specialist. A refund usually takes 7 to 10 business days. While it may seem simple enough to just credit your card back, there is a bit of a process involved. But not one that would take 3 weeks – that’s on us, and we regret the frustrations this caused. Negative experience: Very expensive. Charged me an extra 40$ surcharge for credit card payment!!! This was done without letting me know. I didn’t see any signage and was “not” informed I would have brought a check but was high pressured into paying at that time
We have a sign at the front desk with a note about a fee for credit card payments, it is noted on the treatment agreement that you signed and we let you know before you paid with the credit card that there is no fee for payment with a debit card. You still chose to pay with a credit card. You did have the option of starting treatment at a later date if you wanted to pay by check, but you wanted to start treatment. Like many businesses now a days – to not raise fees for everyone – if you pay by credit card, there is a fee for that. We presume you likely have encountered this at many restaurants, gas stations and other local businesses. We hope you were satisfied with the care you received in our office, as we didn’t hear any feedback about that. Feel free to contact us directly if you have additional questions.

Negative experience: I moved out of the area and needed copies of my x-rays. I was charged $25, which seemed excessive to me. I looked it up and according to NJ State Board of Dentistry, I'm supposed to be charged the cost of duplication. They e-mailed my dentist the x-rays, there's no cost to e-mail a copy. I e-mailed Rotem Dental to complain and they never responded. If they're overcharging me for x-ray copies, what else are they overcharging me for?

Fantastic experience: Not often I patronize a medical facility, dental or otherwise and previously I had been dedicated to Beachwood Dental. However, the nature of my issue demanded immediate attention. They got me in same day and the next day for the extraction. Everyone there was pleasant and professional, office is new and lovely. What REALLY put me over the top and made me stop work to do this is this... the doctor actually texted me the same day after the extraction to check on me and what made that even MORE special is days later when I texted back with a question he actually called me back! I'm sold. Rotem is my dentist now!!
