Fantastic experience: I saw Dr. Hal Herbert and Robin for many, many many years....After Dr. Herbert's retirement, I came back very reluctantly and I was paired with Robin And Dr. Hess. Let me start off by stating true facts, (1)Dr. Hess has "The most amazing mannerism" a patient could ask for ! have an in inquired in, in a very long while. (2) Also, Dr. Hess, has the ability to calmly side down with you about your treatment options and phases, which I thought was absolutely amazing!

Fantastic experience: This place has truly been a blessing to me! I haven't had good experiences with dentists in the past! I have no back teeth and I tried partials but other places couldn't get them to fit correctly. They just lied to me and took my money. From the first phone call to advanced dental center I felt like I mattered! Made a consultation appointment and Dr. Thomas took time to listen to me and evacuate my needs. He was honest and up front on the best plan for me. He is very kind. The thing tho is that it's not just him everyone in the office is wonderful. From Katlynn and Shannon up front to MacKenzie at the back desk. The CFO Mr. Arden helped me figure out how I could afford to get done what I needed to. All 3 of the assistants I've had are wonderful. Long story short I had an extraction and partials put in yesterday. They fit like a glove and they called me today to check on me! This is not the cheapest place to go but it is comparable to most places in our area. I have also learned cheap isn't always the way to go. Advanced dental will work with you on payments and those type of things trust me I'm poor lol. From now on I will not be going anywhere else. Thankyou truly from the bottom of my heart.

Fantastic experience: I had went to several Dentists in an attempt to have a tooth removed. Those Dentists tried very hard to convince me that it would be a complicated process and the cost would be estimated at $750. This just did not seem logical to me. So, I went to Advanced Dental. Advanced Dental estimated $111, which was quite the difference. Upon extracting the tooth, the Dentist expressed how easy it was to remove and only charged me half of $111. WOW! Moving forward I will ONLY be seen at Advanced Dental solely based off of their sense of integrity. Not to mention how kindly I was treated and literally ZERO pain from the procedure. Kudos to you Advanced Dental and THANK YOU!

Negative experience: Dr. Viseal completely lied to me about how his procedure would fix my tmj I had done a year ago I finally found a dentist to undo his disastrous mistake which I now have to pay for again to fix it. He treated me poorly, insulted me, and basically conned me into getting eight crowns he said would fix my tmj it has now caused me even more horrible side effects because the crowns do not fit. I told him that and he did not care. You’ve cost me thousands of dollars on top of pain. Every dentist I’ve spoken with after has referred me to a tmj specialist so he did not know what he was doing. I should have a full refund so I can pay again to fix his costly mistake I was only given 2,000 and not a full refund which I asked for.

Fantastic experience: When I first walked into Advanced Dental I was a gap tooth mess but they got.a Dr there by the name of Veesal(possibly mispeĺled) that has not completely finished with me yet but he has already given me the confidence to lecture my students w/o a mask. I will not be posting any pictures until the final outcome he got a girl already impressed my extentions are off to this man lol

Fantastic experience: I am writing this with tears in my eyes. Jenna and Dr. Thiede is so amazing. I could've kiss and hug them. They made me feel so comfortable and I was so nervous. If anyone needs a dentist, please ask for them and tell them Elizabeth sent you.

Shout out to Joanne, she's very knowledgeable about everything that involves your teeth to your gum, oh and she's good with skin care products. So please go see Advance Dental Center they will get you right.

Fantastic experience: I dont normally write reviews, but I think the team at Advanced needs to know how much I appreciate them. Theu have always known that I am on call at work, so setting up an appointment is difficult, even for something as simple as a cleaning or checkup. I got a call last week from one of the team members letting me know that they could work me in, so I took advantage of it. As soon as I walked in, I was met with smiles and great conversation. They make u feel at home every time u walk in the door. As for the cleaning, I like everyone there, but i always choose Kasie whenever possible. She has been cleaning my teeth for years, and she is always so full of energy. Katie met me in the lobby and walked me back. She is always wonderful to deal with and very thorough. The best part is she and the rest of the team make going to the dentist, a great experience . Growing up, I always hated going to the dentist. if I could give Kasie and the other team members a 10 star review, I would.. Thank u for everything u do

Negative experience: I made appointment to get my teeth's clean. my appointment was at 11:00 am I got call in the back at 1135 or 11"40 the Dentist man came in the room at 12:15 he start talking to the lady then he start talking to me and then the lady said the next time you come we will do a deep cleaning. so i said I'm not getting my teeth's clean today she said no. please, please tell me why I waited all that time for nothing why did I make appointment I don't want to see the lady or the Dentist man no more

Fantastic experience: I was scheduled for the next day when I called. Everyone was courteous, kind, and friendly. I really appreciate that Jennifer and Dr. Visel took the time to explain the purpose and process of my treatment.

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff and Dr.Griffin and Dr.Hess took so much time with me listening to my history and present concerns. I truly believe Dr.Hess will correct the issues of previous treatment from years past .Denise was outstanding in cleaning my teeth.I am so thankful I finally found a dentist in the area .First impression was of outstanding service, professionalism, and feeling a connection with everyone.Exceptional service!!!

Fantastic experience: I accidentally posted a review from my work account. It was worth coming back to post from my personal email. The office called to check on my son today. Such a nice office. My mother took my son for us. My husband and I were swamped at work and we were not sure if they would need someone to drive him after they took his wisdom tooth out. My mother, and my son, only has praises about the customer service and care that my son received. He was a workin and had never been seen there. Our regular dentist does not extract wisdom teeth and we were in a bit of crunch as my son actually lives in Georgia because he is college there. It is a holiday week and so many offices were closed, or closing for the holiday. Totally understandable. Advanced Dental worked him and everyone was so thoughtful and kind. We are truly appreciative of the entire staff.

Fantastic experience: My son is in college in Georgia. He woke up to a wisdom tooth nightmare. Our regular dentist does not extract wisdom teeth and we were on a short time line because of his scheduled flight time with his university. It is also the week of the 4th of July so many offices were closing early this week. We called Advanced Dental Center and I spoke with Debbie who was fantastic and very understanding. They were able to work him in today and they were able to do everything he needed today. They did not overcharge us and they were so kind. I would highly recommend this office to anyone seeking a dentist.

They offer a payment plan if you can put 1800 dollars down They don’t tell you that in the beginning They force you to put 200 dollars down then the next day tell upi that you need another 1600 to start Then after you tell them you can’t afford that they tell you it will take 7 to 10 days to get your deposit back They will take Aetna insurance but not if you are a senior citizen more reason to avoid to discriminate against seniors They get your hopes up that you will get a good set of dentures only to crush you the next day Update Got a message from the owner saying they want their service accessible to everyone and asked me to contact the office Do I did contact them 2 days ago What a surprise NO RESPONSE

Fantastic experience: Exceptional experience! I did have a little wait but once they called us back, they did really well with my daughter! They were very kind and professional and understood her difficulties and made sure she felt respected and ok the whole time. Will be going back!

Positive experience: Came here as a new patient for a routine cleaning. Everyone from office staff to the hygienist were extremely nice and welcoming. For some reason, my insurance was billed for $400+ dollars worth of services leaving me with a copay of $115. I’m fine with taking the “bite” X-rays as I know that’s just a standard part of a routine clean. But I did not need panoramic X-rays, scans more X-rays and all of the other extra services thrust upon me for a teeth cleaning. I tried to deny getting the panoramic done as I had just had one last year, but was made to do it any way. This was way too much for a semi-annual cleaning.

Fantastic experience: The people who work here have made this the best experience I've ever had in any Healthcare facilitiy. Everyone is very nice and accommodating everytime you visit. Prices are very affordable, they offer payment plans and discounts. If I had to name one person who has made my visits more enjoyable, I couldn't because everyone from the front desk, to the Dentist, all the caring individuals who assists the dentist, even the people behind the counter on the way out are professional and very courteous. They call and text to check on you after your procedure. I will never use another Dentists' office. This is definitely the place to go if you fear a Dentist office. Clean bathrooms, water provided, courteous and very professional without making you feel like just another patient. I feel like I got personalized care by everyone I talked to. 5 ☆s is not enough!!

Fantastic experience: I was pleased with my experience at Advanced Dental Center. Dr. Thomas is a meticulous dentist who clearly cares about his patients and does his best. I had a root canal with him and it went very well. The big drawback is you will be paying a good amount of money, but they do a better job (with newer technology) than other dentists in the area.

Fantastic experience: This wasn’t my first visit with Dr Thomas, he’s great, completely satisfied and trust his diagnosis regarding my treatment plan. This WAS my first time with ADESIA “D” and she was so wonderful, I cld have taken her home with me! She was very professional while at the same time showed such concern for my comfort . She even made the sweetest gesture to “comfort” me or help me through the numbing process… it tickled me and it’s probably something I’ll never forget!! Ever! It truly showed her true compassion for the patients sitting in her chair! I can’t wait till my crown comes in and I get to see her sweet self!!

Negative experience: I don’t usually share a lot of reviews because I think everyone is out there just trying to make it, but I felt that my experience could help other people as well. To start, everyone at this office was extremely nice, pleasant, and everything leading up to my appointment was streamlined. I had no worries walking into this appointment. I had called around to different offices all over Florence and this one was one of the cheapest for a self-pay patient, and they had one of the shorter wait times. Once I got my x-rays done and was in the room, the dentist came to see me before I had my teeth cleaned and looked over the x-rays and told me everything looked great and that I should have an easy appointment. The dental hygienist then came into the room and said that the measurements on the computer were not accurate and that I had periodontal disease that could lead to an abscess. This meant that she would not give me a cleaning, which is what I went there for, and that I had to schedule a special deep scaling appointment that would cost a grand total of $1175. Keep in mind that I’m fairly young, I have straight teeth, I have never had a cavity, and I’ve had cleanings done every single year since I was a child. So all of this seemed very strange to me, and I was not keen on shelling out that amount of money for a cleaning, which is all I had scheduled the appointment for. A routine cleaning. The dental hygienist printed up a payment plan, but then told me that even if I agreed to the payment plan, I would have to reschedule my appointment and come back to have the work done because the initial appointment did not leave enough room for me to have the cleaning done to begin with. I was very frustrated by this because I had booked this appointment three months in advance, taking off of work, and now I’m thinking I have to pay over $1000 just to have my teeth cleaned. When I left, I had my x-rays released to the dentist office that I normally go to (I only booked with Advanced because my normal dentist was booked up for eight months), that dentist looked over everything and my previous medical records, and told me I in fact, did not have periodontal disease, did not need deep scaling, and that there was zero things wrong with my mouth. Honestly, even though everyone was super nice and I felt comfortable with them, the way their business is run felt like a scam. Even when I was telling them that I took off work three months in advance to be able to be there they were telling me that the dental hygienist could work through her lunch break or stay late at night to be able to accommodate my needs, but even that felt like a scam because I don’t want a tired and hungry dental hygienist working on my teeth. I want someone who works in a normal practice, who has their needs met, who has proper boundaries and the ability to give me the time and attention that I require. I don’t know if the dental hygienist makes a commission off of this and is so inclined to prescribe things that aren’t needed, or if the business itself is just run in this large scale, corporate manner, but the bottom line was it was an outrageous amount of money for something that was not needed and a waste of my time.

Negative experience: I was only for cleaning there. That is worst place and losing time there. First you are exact on your appointment but you have to wait more than 1 hour seconds they don’t use the dental piece for cleaning only scratches manual and you are done because it is free for you but they charge insurance over $400. American wake up. No wonder we pay lot for insurance. Look for another Dentist.

Fantastic experience: I felt so welcomed at this dentist office from the moment I walked in. Everyone treated me very nicely and went over my procedure. Everyone had a smile on their face and had friendly words. I highly recommend this dentist office.

Fantastic experience: I love advanced dental. The staff are very professional. Raven is truly one of the best there is. You won’t be disappointed. 2025 and the staff is just getting better and better! Not only are they on top of the newest dental procedures. But the staff is so professional and wonderful. Raven is the BEST there is. She has a gentle touch and how can she get your teeth shiny and beautiful! You will be smiling when you leave. Dr Hess has to be one of the best Dentist in the state. He is such a professional and takes the time to explain what is good and what may need to have some work. No high pressure for things you don’t need but there when you need it. Give them a call and set up an appointment you will be glad you did. Here it is 2022 and I still LOVE going to the dentist here at Advanced Dental. The office staff always greet you with a smile and make sure you know you are appreciated. So professional in their actions but you can just tell they love working here. I must again say how wonderful RAVEN is. She is probably the best hygienist I have ever been to. Dr Hess is a great dentist and his staff understands their clients. If you are looking for not just a dentist but the WHOLE package go to Advanced Dental. You WILL NOT be disappointed Update 2023: This by far is the best most professional dental clinic I have ever been a patient. They are just wonderful with all patients. I had a minor tooth issue and it was handled so quickly no long waits for an appointment. I love Jennifer the dental assistant the is so VERY KIND and has a gentle way. Please give them a try you won’t be disappointed 5 stars every day ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ UPDATE APRIL 2024 This is the BEST dental clinic I have ever been a patient of. Raven is the BEST at her profession as a Hygienist. She has a gentle spirit and very kind. She will make a person feel at ease if they are nervous and will make you laugh as well. Raven is SO GOOD at her job that I LOVE going to the Dentist. The whole staff works so hard daily to keep the office atmosphere feeling so upbeat and comfortable you will enjoy your appointment. The office staff is so good I have never ONCE had an issue with any paperwork or payments. You will get in and out of the “business” side so quickly they are amazing. Fantastic experience: Dr Hess is an awesome dentist. He is super knowledgeable and friendly and has such a cool and calm demeanor that puts you at ease. I say this because I have been put through hell as a child and while in the British military due to terrible dentists. I would say I’m a horrible patient but Dr Hess has completely changed that for me. I felt very relaxed and know I can trust and put my faith in him and his staff. Jennifer his dental assistant is awesome, super friendly, knowledgeable and puts you at ease. All the staff there from the front office to the staff that cared for me today are fantastic.

Fantastic experience: The staff was excellent. They were professional and welcomed my husband and I with open arms. Everyone I came in contact with was courteous.They took the time to show us around the office and explained everything in detail concerning the dental care we would be receiving. We were given an outline with a breakdown of what everything would cost and given recommendations. The prices were fair. I felt really good about our first visit to Advanced Dental. We felt like we were part of a new family. Would definately recommend to anyone. I am glad we chose to go there.

Fantastic experience: Truly wonderful people. I'm not good at adulting in the least, and even with my dumbest questions about my own insurance information, these ladies and gentlemen were so kind and reassuring. Very professional, very nurturing, and I felt like they took their time and did a thorough job. Even with some minor work I know I might benefit from in the long run by handing now, they were kind enough to point out the issues and advise that "IF they bothered me in anyway, this is what we can do to help; but if it doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother us." Fantastic experience: Over the past several years I have had a couple of teeth extracted by another dental office in Florence SC that my Grandfather had used for his dental work back in the 1960s. They are still in business to this day. I have heard that the draw for this office was that it would do all the work in a very short amount of time and at a cheap price compared to other facilities. I also heard that people would travel from other areas of the country to this office because the work was done in a 24 hour period. My experience was they were fast but it was on a first come first serve basis and if you didn’t get to the office in the early morning you were gonna wait and wait. There were no appointments to be had. In my opinion and experience the bedside manner of these dental professionals was abysmal at best. I really needed a lot of dental work done and I needed this done sooner rather than later. While researching for a dental facility to take care of my needs I came across Advanced Dental care in Florence SC. I was able to make an appointment and went for my first visit. When I arrived the the first person I saw was extremely nice and helpful with filling out my paperwork and insurance information. I had just finished my paperwork and I was called back for my initial work up. I met Robin who would stay with me through all XRays , inspections and explanations of how my situation would be handled. That first appointment was very in-depth and did take some time to complete ( 1-2 hrs). I was not made to wait for an extended period of time. Robin was with me constantly. I was treated with a lot of respect and all of my inquiries and questions were answered in a way that I UNDERSTOOD. My next appointment I was on time and was seated in the patient waiting room immediately. I may have been in there less than 5 minutes and Robin came in and I was under her care again. I was very relaxed and ready for whatever that appointment involved. All of my appointments I have had Robin by my side and that patient care continuity is PRICELESS. I have zero anxiety knowing that when I walk through those doors for an appointment I am in the hands of people who understand my situation and take care of me like I was the only patient in that office. Dr. Hess has been my Dentist and has done all of my work. He knows my mouth and he knows what my concerns are. If he says we need to do it this way or that way well, that is the way we will do it. I trust him 100%. I will say it again, continuity of care is so important to me. I know there are a lot of people out there that do not like going to dentists for one reason or another. My dislike for dentists was because I am a Navy veteran. During my 6 years in the military I was told I had no choice in my dental care. I also know that there are folks who may be ashamed that they need dentures and it is not easy to go and ask for help. I did go and ask for help and I am sure that there is no other dental facility that could meet my needs the way Advanced Dental has.

Fantastic experience: 2nd time coming and once more, the welcome was extremely warm! The tour of the place was so considerate, on top of that, the place is extremely clean and well put together. The dentist along with all other employees were respectful and comforting!

My dentist Destiny and Ariel was incredibly gentle, thorough, and explained everything clearly, which made me feel completely at ease. They took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire visit. I genuinely appreciated the care and attention I received. Fantastic experience: Advance Dental Center has always been a pleasant experience. From making the appointment, arriving, being served, scheduling next appointment, and leaving was great. Destiny was hospitable, absurdity, absolutely phenomenal and Dr. T was very gentle and quick. The technology upgrade is amazing. There are many other places I could go that would be much cheaper, but then that's the quality of work I'd receive. You pay for quality sometimes. Nevertheless, it was Great experience per usual. I've been coming here over 20 years off and on.

Fantastic experience: Jo-Anne is an excellent Dental Hygienist. She has expert mastery of her trade with medical knowledge beyond the skill set. She asked questions and explained the why, when, and what of every detail of her work. Instead of talking general every day nonsense, she explained the why of each vertical, perpendicular, or horizontal move she made with her instruments. She taught me how to better care for my teeth. I appreciated her knowledge. Thank you Jo-Anne and I will see you in June.

I had my wisdom teeth removed and I didn’t have to wait long and the process went very well! Danielle made sure I was comfortable and they explained everything to me! Positive experience: My overall experience with Dr. Hess and his DA was pleasant. They went over my treatment plan, answered my questions and acknowledged all my concerns. My only complaint would be the receptionist. She was very rude upon me checking in. Her tone was harsh while speaking to me, As I attempted to answer her questions about my insurance and how I spoke with someone from their after hours message center. She blatantly cut me off and said “Oh well our phones have been ringing off the hook all morning and we were in a meeting. We haven’t had time to check any messages this morning, SIGN IN” ! I think it’s very important to check messages, It’s a form of communication from patients due to any changes that may have occurred before or during the time of their appointment. ( I called to let them know I was running a little late, so I left a message with the message center around 7:45am). I rarely leave bad reviews about anyone, but my experience with the receptionist this morning was very bad! I’ve always had great customer service from the staff prior to today’s visit. The staff is always so kind, which is why I was surprised about how I was treated today, besides that I would like to thank Dr. Hess and his team for seeing me this morning considering I was a little late for my appointment.
