Fantastic experience: I have had nothing but good experiences every time I’ve been there. The last two times Bonnie cleaned my teeth and she does a wonderful job. I hope I will have her every time!!!

Negative experience: I did not care for the cleaning I received yesterday, 7/25/2025. She did my gloss my bridge area she did a half ass polish…, she talked too much rather than working. I will not be done by a fill in assistant again. This is the 2nd time and they were both horrible. I drive 30 minutes to go there. I am considering v taking my business closer to home if they are going to do a lousy job that I’m out of pocket.

Fantastic experience: Visited North Myrtle Beach Dentistry again on 7/01/25 for my routine cleaning & x-rays. The office staff is always friendly & helpful. My hygienist is professional and thorough and a very nice person. Dr. Thomas came in after my cleaning. He answers any questions I have during his exam. The appt was quick and painless and my visit there always gives me confidence I’m getting the very best dental care.

Arrived a little early for my appointment and was seen right on time. Could not be happier with my experience with NMB Dentistry!

Negative experience: Easily one of the worst experiences with a hygienist that I've ever had. I came in as I was supposed to have a local referral for an endodontist, I did a cleaning as I needed one anyways.. The hygienist started off very friendly and the rest of the staff was also friendly. Then came the flossing.. I floss twice a day and have never had an issue during a cleaning like this before.. the hygienist rammed the floss so hard up against my gums that I literally curled up in the chair. I remarked and told her how painful it was but she continued with the same intensity as if nothing had happened. My gums hurt for an entire TWO WEEKS, they were irritated and inflamed. I called only a day later to ask about it and they were totally unconcerned and told me to swish with warm salt water.. I called two days later because I could barely chew food or drink water, they refused to let me come back in so they could admit the horrific work done by this hygienist. There was zero urgency and they would not simply let me come into the office for even 10 minutes to just have them examine and see what was happening. I got the referral I needed, went to the endodontist about a week later and the Endodontist stated that I had multiple lacerations on my back gums and he couldn't complete the exam due to the inflammation. So I wasted my own time and money because of the incompetence of this hygienist. I'm so frustrated that zero accountability was taken for something extremely trivial. They are super busy and often you have to wait a very long time. Dr. Narayan was great but now she's leaving the practice so I don't have strong hopes for them. To be clear, this took place back in January and I doubt much has improved. I'm so happy that there's not a monopoly and there's other dentistry offices in the area. Most of the staff was extremely friendly and I wish I didn't have to write a bad review but if a mistake is made, especially one that impacts the health and wellbeing of the patient, it shouldn't be a question what needs to be done. Take care of your patients and stop overworking your staff.

Fantastic experience: This was my first appointment with North Myrtle Beach Dentistry. I was a bit anxious as I had chipped a side of a tooth and was hoping for treatment that wasn't too invasive such as a crown. Jean was my hygienist and I can't say enough good things about her. She was very friendly and made me feel at ease. She did an extremely thorough job of cleaning and examining my teeth. Dr. Thomas was also very kind and listened to my dental history. After examining my chipped tooth he said he felt the area could be filled and that he wanted to avoid a crown as I havehealthy teeth. I was so relieved. I very much appreciate a dentist who tries conservative treatment before something more invasive. I have since had the chipped area filled and it is doing just fine. I highly recommend North Myrtle Beach Dentistry. Everyone in the office I have had contact with, whether in person or by phone, have been extremely friendly and professional. I feel they do their very best to accommodate all their clients.

Fantastic experience: No one really “likes” going to the dentist…. But having/needing to do it, this is the absolute best place I have found! The staff is very patient and kind. The hygienist (Leslie) provides comfortable care with my sensitive teeth! Always asking through the procedure if I am doing ok and they really do care! Dr Narayan is the BEST!!!! My only concern is scheduling. It is really hard to get some appointments.

Fantastic experience: After I made my appointment with North Myrtle Beach Dentistry I read the some of the reviews and thought to myself "Oh, I hope I didn't just make a mistake" but after arriving at the office I know I didn't make a mistake. First, I was 20 minutes early for my appointment and was taken right away and I had the best technical, she was very professional and friendly. Then I had a consultation with Dr. Alton Thomas and I told him what I was thinking of having done and after our discussion, we came up with a plan that was in my best interest. The front desk associates was also very helpful with my insurance and gotten everything done to be submitted to the insurance company. I look forward to my future appointments.

Negative experience: My son is visiting from CA and had terrible tooth pain. I found emergency appointment with North Myrtle Beach Dentistry. After appointment they said I had to pay cash even with my son having insurance. They gave him antibiotics and sent home. He was crying all night and in the morning his face got 2 times bigger. I called office to ask for advice and help. Instead of help I had been told that my son refuse root canal and they have no responsibility over his face and pain... That's "compassion" normal human expect from DOCTOR'S OFFICE!!!! You so afraid of not being payed and being sued - you lost your human decency...

Negative experience: I have for 7 years always liked the hygienist and Dr here. I have good teeth with no dental insurance based on budget constraints. I choose not to get X-rays but get a cleaning once a year. This visit the hygienist explained that I would have to get X-rays or she couldn’t clean. She proceeded to get Dr Thomas & he stated she would clean this time but not in future appointments without an X-ray. Hygienist did a crappy job of cleaning my teeth and when I checked out the lady gave me a total & tricked me into paying part of my husband’s previous bill. The extra money isn’t the issue it’s the dishonest method of giving me what was MY total. This entire visit was a nightmare. This office is hands in your pocket like all others. Very disappointed!!!!

Positive experience: Waited 1/2 hour to get back for visit. Everyone who came after me got taken back before. The girl never checked me in when I went to counter upon arrival. I was just there for a routine cleaning and when finished I was asked to set up next appointment. They're booking 9 months out. Definitely not happy since my insurance says I get 2 cleanings a year. It seems they are still growing the business instead of taking care of the patients they have had for years

I went for multiple crowns to be placed, the entire process was explained completely. Dr. Thomas is a gifted dentist, and over all the years I have been coming here, all of his dental assistants were happy, awesome, very clear in explaining every step of everything as it happened.

He has literally never liked going to any dentist AT ALL but, the staff here made him completely comfortable therefore, he was calm and was able to do what needed to be done. Fantastic experience: Cracked a tooth on a peppercorn unfortunately couldn't be saved. Extraction & bone craft went smoother than I would have ever imagined. Very, very pleased with North Myrtle Beach Dentistry. From the front desk, dental techs, checkout rep to Dr. Thomas all were friendly & efficient. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Stay Away. We have been patients for over 5 years. Hubby had a problem 2 days after his cleaning and X-ray. Severe pain in tooth 14. Two weeks of calling daily for an emergency appt. They left him with an abscess infection. We got him into Sunset Dentistry thankfully He was never called in by this office. Neglegence!!!

Fantastic experience: I’m a patient that’s has gone through serious dental past trauma. Dr. Thomas and his assistant Elaine listened and accommodated me. I was a mess, and they made an impossible situation due to fears, health issues, and past allergies etc become a place I can trust. They truly care and go the above and beyond. I wish more dental offices were like this one. I may travel when I move to see them. They are a true blessing. Grateful God worked through them. I was not an easy patient not because I was trying to be…. I just had dental ptsd….
