Fantastic experience: I am new to FFD but I have had the best experience here. Someone always answers the phone, everyone I have encountered is not just friendly, but warm and nice in a really genuine way. The staff who do the X-rays and set up for the procedures explain what they are doing and answer all my questions, and I have been more than happy with the professional services I have had. I found FFD in a situation when my regular dentist was not available, and I chose to stay!

Fantastic experience: Well, I had been dodging going to the dentist. Had plenty of bad experiences not only that could never listen to someone drilling in my mouth on my tooth. It’s a like fingers across a chalkboard situation for me. Sometimes some dentist chair side demeanor isn’t always comforting but I had no choice to try again. I had a tooth that just would not stop hurting to the point it kept me up at night. I spoke to Amanda then I spoke to the Manager of the location. Let me tell you they worked a miracle for me. They made room in the schedule to get this tooth pulled out of this mouth. I’m truly grateful was so grateful I was busting dance moves literally. The whole entire staff could not believe it but they just don’t know how glad I was to get the tooth removed. Had no pain just a swelling in the area to be expected but I’m truly grateful. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the manager reached out to apologize for the inconvenience. They took the time to listen to my concerns and made a genuine effort to make things right.

Fantastic experience: It’s been a week since my routine dental appointment and I am still thinking about the interactions between the staff and I. Dominique was gracious with settling me in and completing my X-rays. Marcus, with his great sense of humor, did and amazing job with cleaning my teeth. Dr. Olutola, was informative, patient, and thorough during my dental exam. I also had the pleasure of being assisted by Ms. Rise and Ashley when checking out. Negative experience: I have been a patient at this practice for several years. I am not sure what is going on lately. I took my 9-year-old daughter for regular scheduled cleaning yesterday. After we checked in, I was told a Dr would talk to us when I declined an x-ray. One of the hygienists came and said they can’t do the cleaning after we waited for several minutes.
Positive experience: I love this place! I came to this office because I saw how good they have been with my husband. The staff is always friendly, funny, and welcoming. The only reason I am not giving them five stars is because of a lady at the front desk. I think she is new because I don't recall seeing her there before. She was very unfriendly and kind of rude when I told her I wanted to schedule my next appointment. Good thing I am not a new patient because she would have made not want to come back. The rest of the staff is amazing and always make me feel welcome!

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to Fenton Family Dental. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive to my concerns. The dental assistant did a good job, especially with pain free x-ray techniques. Loved the high tech X-ray machines. Dr Crawford was very professional and reassuring. Negative experience: Lady looked me in my face and said there isn’t fluoride in toothpaste and mouthwash. They tell you anything the charge you more. Went down hill from the years ago I use to go
Hmm. Maybe miscommunication? There is fluoride in water. But a fluoride treatment in a dental office has much more.
Negative experience: I have been going to fenton for over 10 years but the past two years has been a bust. irresponsible employees, not taking accountability for the work they do and doing and not following up correctly. i have had horrible experience all together

Fantastic experience: Before finding Fenton Family Dental, I went to three other dentist to replace my top three teeth. None of them told me how infected my mouth was. Negative experience: Broke the hygienist was cleaning my teeth but she only cleaned the teeth that looked dirty to her she didn't clean each teeth. I have two bridges she didn't floss them. I had to ask her at the end why she skipped them then she said" I used my tools " that was a lie. she eventually flossed them. Why did I have to ask for my bridges to be flossed? Especially i went in for my annual cleaning.

Positive experience: Edit: The owner personally apologized for the inconvenience and offered to be my personal dentist moving forward. The Office Manager also called me the morning after I posted the review to schedule and confirm my last appointment and did her best to make me feel welcome. She also took the time to listen to my concerns, took responsibility, and apologized. I appreciate that they are willing to put in the effort to improve their service and try to resolve the issue I had. Original review summary (deleted): I had ongoing issues at this practice with one of my teeth and sometimes felt unwelcome at the front desk. However, the owner and the Office Manager eventually took the time to help resolve the issue and explained why it had occurred. Most of the problem stemmed from one of the dentists who has since left the practice. The situation worsened due to a poorly managed transition—particularly because my appointment was scheduled on his last day. As a result, the ongoing issue with one of my teeth was not properly addressed before he left.

Negative experience: I’m not exactly sure what’s going on with this location. I’ve called 4 times, left several voice messages AND sent emails—STILL NO RESPONSE. The fact that I’m able to read in another review that someone had to physically come up to the location due to lack of response from Fenton “Family” is very telling of the downward spiral that is occurring with this location. I had a crown put on—and have had discomfort and pain and sensitivity ever since and all I’m told is “it’s a bite issue”, “there’s nothing wrong”—YOU all are the dentists and I as a patient am coming for a resolution and Instead I’m met with this continuous speech and push for an implants and the dismissiveness of the issues that I’ve repeatedly come for. The founder Dr. Toussaint Crawford needs to revamp the processes for this specific location. PLEASE RETURN MY CALL. Mr. Crawford it would be great to be seen by you to further investigate the issues expressed in previous visits!

Positive experience: Most staff were nice, I didn’t get the answers I came for though, and one conversation didn’t feel good. The head dentist came and asked how I was and if i was wearing my retainers, and I was honest and said no. I wanted to get into how I have adhd and have trouble with staying on top of dental hygiene, and ask for any tips and guidance beyond, “brush your teeth more. “ he didn’t let me get there. Instead he said, do you really think you should be saying that to me? And he seemed really annoyed and disappointed when I just told the truth, and walked out before I could ask questions. The other dentists couldn’t answer my questions either.

Positive experience: While I appreciate weekend appointment options. It is very inconvenient when I have been told my entire family cannot have appointments on the same day. If you are a “family” practice, why is there restrictions? I don’t encounter this scheduling issue at the Clinton office.

Negative experience: Transfer from Clinton location and scheduled new patient appointments, but had to cancel due to conflict in my schedule. Left a voice-mail for a callback 3 weeks ago with no return call. Called the office and spoke with a young lady that I had to keep repeating my information to. Gave her the day and time for my appointment and her response was "that's a Saturday we close at 3.", mind you the information I gave her regarding my scheduled appointment was 5/17 at 12pm. After that I explained to her what happened and she could care less from her tone. No apology for the inconvenience or anything. Definitely taking my business somewhere else.
Positive experience: My experience was delightful with the staff no one ask if I understand the way of removing the implant s or demo the doctor wasn't friendly to me no greetings manners made me very un comfortable in his office chair the staff was more secure didn't give or my husband whom was companion to talk to him because I was sedated about my bottom implants wasn't right to put in I didn't understand I was scared to ask the doctor to many questions why he was in mouth understand yes he have a job some more patient but I still need time feeling comfortable I am a client whom is paying a bill just get u in the chair move on next didn't say have a nice day doctor u alright no questions on my behalf of comfortable the experience I have with other dentists went home my teeth was hitting the bottom teeth very uncomfortable since it wasn't my fault on the fitting know having problems grasps the situation with know bottom teeth could explain to my husband I was sedated yes but I know my feelings about my feelings staff and nurse was fantastic just the doctor u not a manners skills or a details I still don't know with very good understanding why about bottom

Negative experience: I have been a patient here for over 10 years and this appointment was the worse one ever. I was placed in a room with the AC full blast, waited about 20 minutes between hygienist and X-rays, then again waiting for the dentist much longer than any previous visit. Only after telling all 3 people who came in to service me and the front desk did the AC get turned off. Luckily after raising concerns the dentist came in shortly after and I was on my way. Absolutely terrible. Sorry about the ticket we will pay it. We need to do better when temps work explaining the expectations. We have reviewed it internally.
Fantastic experience: Excellence as usual!!! Excellent web interface to setup appointments Excellent receptionists - patient checkin and checkout, excellent patient follow up and pricing and plans, follow up appointments. Excellent dental treatment support staff, x rays, scanning process. Excellent dental hygienist - teeth cleaning. She was sweet and gentle for cleaning that usually is so hurtful. She explained all the problems and how to improve my hygiene. And then the master Toussaints orchestrating the magnificent techie avantgarde office where everyone plays their own melody and the orchestra is fantastic. Negative experience: Only one Dentist in the office today. The dentist that I was scheduled with was not there, after canceling on two previous appointments. What should have been a quick procedure took 95 minutes after sitting around waiting for over an hour. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the service was better last time I visited.

Positive experience: Sadly I have to update my review and downgrade quite a bit. I will keep my original review in the comments below but just want to recognize the change hasn't been for the better. I first started coming to this practice on the recommendation of a friend who went undergrad with the owner. He's a super friendly human as is everyone else in the practice. However, it's become clear that volume and upselling are the goals, and reducing operational costs will come at the expenditure of patient experience. Feels quite a bit like a private equity owned business. On my last visit 6 months ago, the person who did my cleaning seemed much more concerned about what was going on in the hallway than on focusing on my teeth. And her strategy of cleaning was to push my gums up so far that I was in pain for the next several days. As someone who already suffers from gum recession as I age, this was not helpful. It's important to remember that years of experience must be matched with high performance to be valuable. There are several other small things that have made it clear that true connection with patients is not the priority. Lots of signs selling additional services, cheap partitions between the patient spaces, seemingly new, inexperienced tech staff at every visit. On this last visit, the staff moved me twice before determining I was in the right spot for cleaning. Last week was the last straw. I needed to reschedule my appointment and they have enabled a new AI assisted technology to manage the phones. It was ridiculous. I had to call three times and leave messages twice, one time the system just hung up on me. Despite leaving messages, no one received the message that I needed to reschedule. I finally received a call from a human two days before the appointment to confirm it. I explained what happened and when they asked if I wanted to reschedule I said absolutely not. I get wanting to leverage technology, but make sure it is well vetted and works seamlessly before foisting it upon your patients. And always, always leave an option for someone to talk to a human! Anyway, I am now in the market for a new dental practice. One that perhaps no longer exists: where practitioners put patients in front of profits and patient experience with high quality staff is the metric of success. Maybe I'm simply nostalgic for the old days, but I'd love to believe that it still can be found. First review in 2021: The speediest, friendliest dental service I've never had in my life! They are masters of efficiency and everyone is super kind. Love this practice!

Negative experience: I had a terrible experience with the billing and customer service at this dental office. The front desk staff seems completely clueless about what is billable and what isn’t. After my visit, I was told I owed money. When I asked for clarification, the receptionist checked again and said, “Oops, my mistake, you’re good to go.” Fast forward a couple of weeks, and I receive an email saying I have a balance due. I called the office, and they transferred me to billing—only to leave a voicemail. No one ever called me back. I tried again, same thing. No response, but I keep getting overdue balance emails! This place is a mess when it comes to billing and communication. I will never go back again! Avoid this place unless you want to deal with unnecessary stress.
Fantastic experience: I want to start by saying placing Rise as the office manager was one of the smartest decisions Family Fenton Dentists could have ever made. Rise, professionalism is superb, she’s patient, compassionate, understanding, respectful, beautiful smile, extremely knowledgeable, organized and the most important two she’s intelligent and gives phenomenal customer service. Negative experience: Stay away! Rude staff and the dentists repeatedly try to sell you additional services. I've asked repeatedly that I'm not interested. Last straw was I made an appointment online. I got a verification email and text which I confirmed. I showed up for my appt and the staff said I didn't have an appt and then blamed me. She said I needed to call after I made an online appt. No attempt was made to fit me in at a reasonable time and no real apology. Apparently, just my fault! Plenty of other dentists in area are polite. Update: Besides this google review, I didn't say anything else. The manager called me later in the day and apologized and offered a free cleaning. I'm still going with another dentist but upping my review to 2 stars as the manager seeming genuinely sorry.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient for a year now. Today was probably the best dental appointment I’ve ever had. The assistant was kind and attentive. She even remembered accommodating me months ago. And the hygienist was personable and thorough. She initiated convos about my kid which helped keep my mind off the big ass needle and potential pain. She also educated me transparently and without that tone of judgment that is common with some dentists. The doctor that followed was less friendly / more matter-of-fact. His delivery could use a compliment / genuine interest to sandwich the harder (but helpful to know) info. But, I had such a good cleaning experience that it outweighed the last rushed 5 minutes of critique.

Fantastic experience: Fenton family dental is a wonderful dental care place for anyone regardless of your status or income. Fantastic experience: Not only is everyone here super nice and accommodating - and SO helpful when you have an emergency be it pain that requires you to need an appointment ASAP or an emergency that means you can’t make your appointment the next day - but they’re also extremely competent! I am super confident in the direction they have provided for my various dental issues, and they’re always super clear about when to try and wait if you can due to insurance. Truly the best - coming from someone who has A LOT of past and upcoming dental work!

Negative experience: Been going to Fenton for a decade. Since last year I had a very mild Invisalign treatment (fewer than 30 trays total) and Dr. Vosoughi is not only THE WORST but she’s dangerous! She’s a saleswoman more than a health professional. She wanted me to stop invisalign treatment after my first session even though I was unsatisfied. This was a reoccurring issue with her, she was looking for a quick paycheck and was satisfied with imperfection. Even worse, she’d try to gaslight me into thinking my issues weren’t a concern. For example, I was unhappy that my front tooth was slanted, but she said nothing can be done and that it’s my “anatomy.” So I begrudgingly listened to her, stopped refinement, and began retainers. But I had a nagging feeling that it wasn’t my “anatomy” but rather that Vosoughi is lazy and incompetent, so when I saw Dr. Crawford, he said the slant /can/ be fixed through retirement … so that was confirmation that Vosoughi was lying to me. Glad she’s no longer around. I’m honestly considering escalating these concerns and a year of documented evidence to several state and professional boards. Fenton’s conduct is extremely troubling and a public hazard. Besides my horrendous experience with Vosoughi, my interactions with other staff hasn’t been great either. The office has signs that say “email us”…except no one answers those emails. You have to hound them to get them to respond. In fact, I even emailed Dr. Crawford directly and never got a response from him (the email didn’t bounce, so I know it went through). Even they say they’ll call back…they don’t. You still have to call them to follow up. 3 times, I’d arrive to my appointment only to be told my trays haven’t arrive. So I’d waste an hour each way to the office (sometimes even taking the day off from work). This could’ve been prevented if they just checked for my tray status a business day before my appt. Most recently…they didn’t even /place/ the goddamn tray order when I arrived to pick them up… in other words, the delay wasn’t a delivery issue…, a month had gone by since I was scanned and office simply didn’t place an order for the tray to be made. And of course there’s 0 accountability or concessions to make up for the office screwing up. If they cared at all, they’d offer free cleaning or free fluoride treatments as concessions for their mistakes. Don’t just take my word for it, look at fenton’s responses to negative google reviews - it’s clear in their own words that Fenton doesn’t care for distressing their patients. Lastly, for routine cleaning, Fenton is not up to muster. My teeth did not look cleaner after routine visits. It wasn’t until I switched to a new dentist that I realized how clean my teeth could’ve been if I went to a competent dental office that cares more about patients than selling Invisalign, bridges, and implants. My adult family of 6 has been going to Fenton for years. No more. Ron is the only staff that I had a pleasant and competent experience with. Tammy is also good but getting in contact with her sometimes feels like pulling teeth.

Fantastic experience: You will get none of the usual generic things you get from other places. This is not only a gem. There are miracle workers here every person is generally interested to the detail of your treatments. I walked in with a Band-Aid on my pinky and the lady made me feel so care for, and relaxed- I could’ve given her all my teeth gladly. She asked me how I got the cut on my finger and we chatted about cutting potatoes as she glued all the Invisalign treatments on my teeth. I melt it like butter on the chair. I had so much trust on her confidence. This is not a team, but I will very well oiled machine! Everyone works as one. No question is too small or ridiculous, and forget that fear of dentist anxiety- they will lift that right off your shoulders! It’s on the way they move with Grace and patience and attack with compassion without even knowing it you’re all in and you’re happy to be there! It’s a busy place but only because this office in SILVER SPRING is too small for them. But have no doubt you feel like you’re the only patient. The attention to detail to know you and care for you is unmatched. I drive 1.5 hours every procedure because it’s THAT worth thee.

Positive experience: As always the staff from the front office to the hygienist are very professional and kind . My issue is with Dr Crawford I had to wait longer than I wanted so he could I guess evaluate me, he rushes in and and proceeds to tell me about a procedure that costs 25k as if it was 25.00 and rushes out. I felt like he didn't try to offer any alternatives I felt dissapointed.

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Fenton Family Dentist for nearly two years. The office is very well organized. The Chief Prosthodontist is Dr. Toussaint Crawford. I am extremely pleased and proud of his dental procedures. The post operative results have been outstanding and there have been no complications. Negative experience: I called yesterday to cancel my appointment but they didn’t cancel. Today I got a voicemail about a reminder of appointment, I called today again at 5:18PM to cancel it but the receptionist lady (forgot her name) was very rude to me. Very unprofessional, doesn’t know how to talk to the customer.
