Fantastic experience: Went in for my 6 month check up and couldn't be happier. The hygienist was top notch and the dentist knowledgeable and personable. I had 2 teeth turning a dull tan color and the hygienist correctly diagnosed the issue ~ coffee stains. Once she polished them the stains were gone and no cavities. A good visit!

Negative experience: This rating has no reflection on Dr Gladwell who is the absolute best dentist. This rating is due the inefficiency of the front desk personnel who took my payment, charging my card twice totaling $3666.00! My concerns began when my questions about the $1833.00 charge were disregarded. I was initially quoted less. When making my payment, the desk person seemed to be training someone and even a third person joined in which caused a lack of attention to my transaction. I do not appreciate the huge mistake that was made with my payment which I am still trying to resolve 3 days later and likely into next week. I consider the lack of attention from the staff disrespectful and the person accepting my payment incompetent. I am very disappointed in Wells Family Dentistry.

Negative experience: I thought coming back a few times, it would get better. The appointments for my Invisalign have been awful. The dental assistants don’t listen to me, I was told to take aspirin for headaches-I’m allergic to aspirin and it is noted in my chart. Nothing is explained to me. I have to constantly ask what is being done. There is a serious lack of communication. Also, I was in yesterday (6/26) for my next set of Invisalign. I wasn’t given anything to carry them in. I asked to have them dated today (6/27) because it would be easier on Fridays with everyone changing them out. Not done. I noticed a black spot on 3 different teeth (bottom). The dentist and hygienist never said anything to me. They were working on the lower teeth. I don’t know how they missed this.

Fantastic experience: Wells are always there for me. I wanted to check a sore gum area before a long vacation and they offered a super convenient time (Saturday at 8:00, for working people), did the check up, and I went home relieved. The staff are great at every of their locations!

Negative experience: Had partials made. When I began the process they told me that my insurance covered most of it. I had to pay up front for what the insurance didn't cover. When they were finished they said my insurance didn't cover and wanted to charge me the whole cost. I called my insurance company who said they did cover partials and that Wells keeps putting the wrong codes on their statement. I spoke to the front desk a number of times. I leaving a message for billing to call me back but they never do. Left two messages for Dr. Wells never get an answer. My husband and I will not be back.

Negative experience: After receiving my cleaning I waited for the doctor to come in and discuss my X-rays and check for cavities. After 25 min of waiting I left. Facility did not call me to check in or apologize. My experience reflects that they do not value their patients or respect their time. I would not recommend.

Positive experience: 1. We had a long conversation about where to send prescriptions. We use Walgreens at Roger's Rd/Heritage Rd. However, my prescription today was still sent to CVS. I had presumed it was going to Walgreens. Change our family records to show our preferred pharmacy is Walgreens. 2. An email detailing the treatment plan for a future procedure was sent that had costs for three crowns. At the desk, I was given costs for one crown as agreed upon with the dentist. Not very well coordinated.

Fantastic experience: I’m terrified of dentist and desperately avoiding going. However I’ve been having problems with one tooth trapping food. Dr. Shope was so comforting and gentle. Together we put together a plan for attacking the problem. I am beyond appreciative that she included me in the plan and was very helpful with letting me know what to expect going forward. Fantastic experience: Great visit from check in to check out! Tali and Zhaya at the front desk were so friendly! My cleaning was done by Sydney who did a great job. Dr. Lamara did my exam and addressed a small issue I was having with my front tooth, what great addition to the team. My son saw Ari for his cleaning as he always does. Positive experience: I don't really trust this place. They have pushed Invisalign too much. One dentist told me I had a cavity that "only she could see" and their explanations for other things just haven't made sense. Every time I go or bring my kids, we get a different dentist and they are always wearing glasses and a mask so I can't see their faces. The hygienists are kind and seem to do a good job, though.
Negative experience: Dr. Philip Sherrill was extremely attentive and kind as well as the dental assistants. I really appreciate that. However, the front desk admins are not even looking at your face while you are asking important questions about the insurance, costs and they act like it’s a burden to ask them. Definitely did not make me feel good as a new patient.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Wells Family Dental has always been pleasant and professional. Each of the dental hygienist that have worked with me has been exceptionally kind and personable. The dentist are always upbeat, very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Since I started coming to this dental practice over 12 years ago I have always felt like I was well cared for. At my last cleaning, Ari was my hygienist and it was my first time meeting her. I feel like I have made a new friend and confidant.

Fantastic experience: 4/29/25 Update: The staff are awesome from our hygienist, Ari to Dr Woll. Honest and caring and really want to educate you in all of your decisions. Have had cleanings, fillings, a crown, and even got Invisalign set up on this visit. The in-house plans are also great for anyone who doesn't have insurance, taking all of the stress out of knowing you would need work done, and cleanings, and letting not having insurance stop you from having it done! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a trust-worthy dentist call the folks at Wells Family Dentistry!

Negative experience: I had a great experience here for years. But after many visits in the last 6 months, and more complicated situations than I’ve had before, I’ve sadly seen some serious issues here. They’ve always switched me around to different dentists. So when I started having tougher situations, I didn’t know any well enough to request by name. The switching also didn’t stop when they realized the difficulty of my situation. In fact, I recently waited 45 minutes for one dentist only for another one to come out, with no explanation. Wait times have become longer. Sometimes when I’m in pain I will be scheduled too far out, even when I explain my situation to the person on the phone. Sometimes I will be scheduled quickly but end up waiting at the office twice as long as usual. Once they forgot to put my appointment on the schedule. 9/10 times when I call to describe an issue, it will be miscommunicated to the medical providers in some way. The hygienists seem stretched thin. I’ve been given numbing gel in a rush and then have to be given the shot in a completely different place and I feel the entire thing. My new dentist commented on the poor choice of some X-rays taken/not taken. I also don’t naturally focus on “soft skills” like how cheerfully or gently a hygienist interacts with me, but visiting a new office and meeting the most kind and nurturing hygienist led me to actually cry when I left- it completely changed the experience. I realized there was some lack of this in my experience at Wells. One dentist here would look at an X-ray and tell me there are no cavities, the next would tell me they suspect 1, then find 4. I’ve had symptoms I was sharing be doubted, in 2 different situations by 2 different dentists, before finding out they were legitimate. I understand it’s out of caution and not wanting to mess with teeth that might not need the work. But they were slow to discover the number of issues I had, and could’ve taken better advantage of my symptom reporting. I’ve had a piece of a filling chip off a few weeks later. I’ve had a filling hurt for seemingly no reason, then feel better for seemingly no reason when it’s redone, after adjustments that hurt worse and worse. I’ve had at least 3 fillings done here deteriorate in just a couple years. My teeth are cavity prone, but it was never to this level. I’ve been told by another dental professional to start questioning the work. They neglect to explain risks. My night guard stopped fitting after a visit with fillings. I never knew that could happen. Then they implied it would be an easy adjustment, but it was impossible to adjust. I was also never told what the risks would be of not wearing it. I trusted that they didn’t seem too worried. But my pain became worse afterwards. I was encouraged to start Invisalign at the same time, which I needed, but it was not the right time. And now pausing Invisalign is extremely difficult. One filling still hurts 5 months later. I came in many times for it and had minor adjustments done and was told to wait. The endo says I need a root canal, and that a filling that close to the nerve just irritated it irreversibly. I was shocked- I was never told this possibility. I also wonder if wearing the same guard after that procedure, without being warned I might need adjustments, exacerbated this. And I wonder if something else was done incorrectly along the way. It didn’t start out this bad. But we’ll never know because the damage is now irreversible and restorative treatment isn’t an option. Before I requested a referral to the specialist, I was scheduled to redo this filling. After his diagnosis, I was told that I could immediately get an infection if they attempted another procedure. So they were willing to do a procedure that could’ve resulted in an emergency. Describing my experience to friends, they were shocked I continued going here. Without sharing the office’s name, they assumed it was a bigger chain. I’m still grateful for all they’ve done for me, but I genuinely hope they are able to improve for their patients.

While it pains me that you had such a rough experience, we will certainly learn and change some of our protocols based on your experience. I've reviewed all of your records and while I cannot comment on my detailed thoughts on your care, I can say that it sounds like the work you had completed in addition to the invisalign and bruxism lead to a series of post op complications that have left you understandably frustrated. There are certainly challenges in managing fillings while undergoing invisalign that I think were exacerbated by being seen by different providers. While we are a group practice with several amazing providers providing care, I do feel we can and will do a better job of keeping our patients with specific providers, particularly when experiencing post op issues like you were. In terms of the bite guard, we typically are able to do fillings without affecting the fit of a guard or invisalign trays which probably was the source of the miscommunication. Our hygienists at this practice are AMAZING, some of the best in the business, so I'm especially surprised by your feedback with our hygiene team. Going forward we are going to work with our team to provide better communication and consistency of providers. One of the benefits of being at a group practice is that we are able to spend time training and improving issues like you are having as we have more infrastructure in place. Negative experience: Just had the most wildly uncomfortable experience in a dental office. Came in for a cleaning, it turned into an hour of discussing my dental history. Cleaning was never done. Communication has been atrocious. I’ve mentioned this to the mgmt staff in the past. I had a manager call to tell me the miscommunications were not miscommunications, rather standard procedure. I’ve really enjoyed my initial experiences here but the last year working with this office has not been pleasant. I referred someone here who also had a terrible experience. There is a consistency and communication issue. I hope they treat people with a bit more care and respect.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Have been going to Wells for 3 years. Always a pleasant experience. Highly recommend. They have done excellent dental work on me, from cleanings to a root canal I had last year. I had another appointment today at Well's Family Dentistry for my 6 month cleaning. Again, very professional and friendly staff. They even had a new X-ray machine that plays music and it speaks to you while it is working. I've personally never seen this in a dental office. The dental hygienest I had today was AWESOME! Her name is Ari. She was not only very very nice but very knowledgeable as well. Gave me tons of information about stabilizing some teeth that are loose and a tooth that I have cracked but can possibly be saved. She then shared every single bit of information she provided me with Dr. Wall who was my Dentist. Dr. Wall assisted me on my last visit as well. She is AMAZING and I hope she does well and I hope she stays here. I will be requesting her again. Thank you so much Ari and thank you to you as well Dr. Wall. I had another appointment at Wells today. Ari is so amazing! I have never had a better dental hygienest. She is very nice and professional as well. She puts you at ease. Meeting Lindsay for the first time was like getting together with one of my long time friends...and she was super thorough, yet very gentle cleaning my teeth. Truly wonderful experience! Dr. Woll of course, was equally as kind, and effective. Speaking with him for just a few minutes quickly evidenced his vast knowledge of the trade. I signed up my entire family for their yearly membership package. Once you do the research on this deal, it is a most obvious No Brainer!

Fantastic experience: Great practice. Felt taken care of from the moment I walked in. Front desk was able to help me work out my insurance situation. Assistant was quick and efficient with X-rays and a really great 3d imaging tool that really allowed me to see everything that was being discussed in the appointment. Hygienist Lindsay was very thorough through the cleaning and provided information and continued dental education. My teeth definitely had that squeaky clean *bing* feeling. Ultrasonic cleaning tool was really intense but could tell it worked well and so much faster than the classic scaling/scraping process. Dr Woll was great(even for a buckeye #goblue)! Very matter of fact in discussing work that could or should be done, offered lots of options and spoke knowledgeably in a way that helped me feel on my own time and not pushed into anything. Great experience!! See you in six months!

Fantastic experience: My dental hygienist has got to be one of the best dental hygienist I have had the pleasure of making my dental cleanings with! The dentist here and staff are very considerate and compassionate . I have areas in my mouth that are very sensitive during my cleanings. My hygenist introduced to me at my last visit to applying flouride on my teeth to prevent sensitivity. it was not covered by my insurance but it was only $25 and well worth it . Everyone there is very professional, from the greetings from the receptionist to the dentist when my cleaning is over. I would highly recommend them to anyone very particular about having their teeth cleaned and flossed.

Negative experience: I have moved 8 times in the past 6 years because of school/work. This dentistry is THE worst dentistry I have been to thus far. Before booking an appointment, I verified with my insurance (BCBS) that they were in network. When I came in for a standard teeth cleaning, I then verified AGAIN with the receptionist that they were in-network. However, upon leaving I was charged $190 out of pocket because they ran my insurance out of network. When I explained that they were in network, I was given a shitty excuse of how sometimes BCBS says they are in network but they are actually out of network. They then said after they got their money from my insurance, I would be given a credit to my account for a refund. I refused a credit and stated I wanted a check. I had to go four separate times over the course of 3 weeks to try and collect this check because every time I was given an excuse of either their billing manager wasn't in or the insurance hadn't finished paying the claim (however none of this would have been necessary if they had just billed my insurance as in network from the beginning). Before I sat down and sorted out my insurance and how the numbers weren't lining up, I had scheduled a cavity filling. As this was my first cavity filling I was quite nervous. The dentist injected me with local anesthetics and then both her and the assistant left. I began having a panic attack but sat there quietly trying to calm myself. When they came back in they barely said a word to me and started the procedure. It was quite painful (and as it was my first filling I didn't know you could stop them and get more anesthetics) and at times I lifted my hand to try and tell them I was in pain, but to no avail. At one point I felt a sharp pain and then a warm liquid fill my cheek. I knew this was blood and tried to stay calm, knowing that the assistant would use the suction straw to remove it. Apparently the assistant forgot how the straw worked and did nothing and the blood began to drain into my throat. I then began choking on my own blood, trying to breathe through my nose, until the assistant remembered that the suction straw is used to remove any excess liquid from my mouth. After this horrible procedure was over, I was then charged $436 because, once again, they charged me out of network. And then later that night I kept feeling a large grain of sand on the side of my tongue. What was it? Oh, just a piece of bone the assistant didn't suction up when the dentist was drilling into my tooth. So not only did I have a very traumatic experience (which was not repeated when I immediately switched dentists to fill the few other cavities I had -- definitely check out Dr. Lane & Associates; Dr. Webb is absolutely amazing) but I was misbilled on purpose and have had to bend over backwards to get my money back. I would not recommend Wells Family Dentistry if it were the apocalypse and they were the last dentist around.
Megan, Thank you for providing feedback on your experiences at our office. First let me say I'm really sorry you had this issue with your insurance. We have an outstanding insurance team, however with the complexity of dental insurances, sometimes these headaches occur and unfortunately you felt the impact of that. We are working on investigating exactly what happened in your case, but just know that we do go above and beyond to ensure that we maximize your insurance coverage and make the process as smooth as possible. Sometimes we fall short but sometimes this falls squarely on the dental insurance company and we end up looking like the bad guys. In terms of your care at our office. I hate that your first experience was so traumatic. Going to the dentist can definitely be a scary place and getting your first filling can also be very scary. When completing fillings between your teeth there is typically a small amount of bleeding. When mixed with saliva it can feel like a lot of bleeding. I assure you it was minimal. The sand you felt was a bit of excess filling material that is common and comes off of the tooth when you eat. We are working with our provider on communicating better throughout the appointment as it sounds like she missed your signal for experiencing discomfort. I am glad you have found a provider that works well for you and that you have confidence in. I apologize that we did not meet the mark but assure you we are working hard to make sure EVERYONE has the "wow" experience that I built my practice around. Negative experience: Be careful when seeing Dr. Patel. Her tech took bad x-rays and she mistakenly diagnosed a healthy front tooth as a cavity, which she wanted to operate on same day. Also claiming there were several other small cavities in my front teeth that were clearly ghosts in the blurry x-rays. She failed to diagnose the actual cavity in my back right molar and missed localized gintivitis around the same tooth. Upon asking her to clarify where the cavities were, she inicated small grey spots on the blurry x-rays and stated that they can be hard to identify if you don't do that sort of thing all the time. X-rays should have clear crisp lines at the edges of bones, I have seen enough to know that. She was trying to convince me I had just worn down the outer layer of enamel on that molar. (I came in because of tooth pain with sensitivity to sweets). I had the x-rays re-done the next day at another dentist to reveal perfectly healthy front teeth and the molar that was subsequently treated that day. I called Wells Family Dentistry to confirm which tooth she found a cavity in and was amazing that she really was going to drill into a perfectly healthy tooth. My new dentist even took a picture of the back right molar, in which a black hole was clearly visible. She also focused on minimal damage to my bottom teeth due to apparent bite alignment issues, which I was also assured by my new dentist consituted no more damage than occasional teeth grinding. Since I work construction, that makes sense. But, she referred me to a specialist to get invisaline anyway- claiming my teeth were bound to be degraded prematurely.

I was very surprised by your review and have taken some time to thoroughly review your case and all the records we took at our office. While no dentist is perfect at diagnosing, I do agree with Dr Patel's recommendations 100%. The records we took are clear in this. While it is not uncommon for 2 different providers to disagree, I do stand behind our doctor's recommendation and am concerned about the treatment you received elsewhere. Negative experience: I can honestly say that my experience has been nothing short of *terrible,* specifically dealing with a representative at the customer service desk While the dental staff do an excellent job of taking care of our dental needs, it is overshadowed by hostile inclinations, and overwhelming need to to be defensive:/combative actions from a service desk member.

Fantastic experience: I was having a severe toothache. I went to a dentist the previous day which was a Friday. The other dentist could only refer me to a specialist. Wells was able to see me Saturday for an emergency. The dentist prescribed me antibiotics which greatly helped with the pain. Very grateful for Wells fitting me into the schedule.
