Fantastic experience: Today was my first visit,but I was greeted at the door upon entering the receptionist was very pleasant.my wait time was very short about 6min after completing paperwork, Dr whitley assistant came out to take me to the room,she assured me that I would be okay as I was a little nervous, she was very professional and patience with me, she explained to me what she was doing throughout my exam I really felt comfortable with her,the office is beautiful and clean,I would highly recommend Eastern Carolina Dental.

Fantastic experience: I have really liked coming to Eastern Carolina Dental. The office is clean, professional, and prompt. The dental hygienists I see are always very kind and attentive when I’m telling them about any problems with my teeth e.g. I have exposed nerve roots on some teeth that cause some discomfort during cleanings. When I mention this, the hygienist is very careful when cleaning around the area, and I never have any pain. If you’re looking for a dentist in the area, I would 10/10 recommend.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! We were in town on vacation when my child had a dental trauma and we needed to have her urgently seen. Not only did they get us in within 2 hours, they also worked her in their schedule to provide additional treatment as well. The entire staff was so kind and caring. They really went above and beyond to be sure my daughter was taken care of in the friendliest and most compassionate way. If we lived here, we would definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for dental care!

Positive experience: I have been going here for the pass approximately 4 years as with the orthodontics office that required me to see a general dentist before getting braces. Staff is always professional, kind, and polite. I have often wondered if there are any African American in the Dental Field around Jacksonville because I have never seen one in all the three different dental offices I go to. That is an OLD POST from I think 2018.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has severe dental anxiety and had a dental emergency, I was truly amazed at this staffs swiftness in getting me in and taken care of. They were all very kind and helpful and put me at ease. I haven’t gone to the dentist in years because of bad experiences but so far I’m very impressed with this office and their staff overall.

The Dental Assistants, Hygenist and Dentist are highly skilled and great at their jobs. I have never had a bad experience here and would recommend them to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Lauren was great! She really made me feel comfortable and so did the whole staff but unfortunately I didn’t get everyone’s name. Everyone I came across was very polite and they were very accommodating. I had a broken tooth that I needed pulled asap and they got me in within the next two hours

Positive experience: We came back to Eastern Carolina Dental after leaving a year ago after a weird experience with them. This visit was better, as I had a tooth/gum issue and Lynn, the hygienist, was great.Dr Whitley was very helpful as well, in diagnosing my pain. The only weird thing was that I left without paying anything, and no paperwork for additional treatment.

Negative experience: I originally posted a month ago but took it down thinking I should give them another visit since this was a first occurrence. But, now today I receive a certified mailed letter (MIND YOU) that they are withdrawing from further care for my family’s dental needs. So, my original comment will go back up and stay up and WILL NOT COME BACK DOWN AND YOU CAN SEE EVERYONE HOW THEY CAN BE. 4/29/2025 Post: Very unhappy with our services lately since Dr. Whitley has became part of their practice. He does not put the patient first. My daughter had an appt. yesterday and instead of him seeing her like we were originally scheduled after being rescheduled due to them because of spring break and they wanted off he let his secretary for billing (don't know her exact billet) see us instead and didn't even talk or speak to us after I had to jump through hoops after requesting off work the prior week and then rearranging my sons schedule so he can get my daughter and bring her to the clinic and me hurry and leave work to meet them there so I can talk with him about my daughters teeth and then he doesn't even see her or me. Very disappointing and disrespectful. Then the billing lady tells me that the part that I signed before that was $1100 for her teeth is now going to be $2000 and they wanted off to do it under the table and don't send it to the insurance company. Yeah. Okay. So, I have been going to this dental office since early 2000s and never ever got treated like this before. Believe me, me and my family will be looking for a new dental office and you and your family should be as well. Because, they are out to charge you for everything you got and not to help you at all. Believe that. Sad part is, I love the front staff.

The hygienists and dentists are always so nice and do a great job with cleanings, communicating any concerns, and referrals to specialists if necessary. The office and procedure rooms are very clean and modern. Soothing music is usually played at a comfortable level that makes the atmosphere comfortable during your appointment.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't of had a better experience with this team. I called outta nowhere to make an appointment and hopefully get my tooth pulled, and they came through. The staff, nurses, and doctors were all very polite and friendly. Within 10 to 15 min after my checkup they were ready to get to work to solve my problem. While sitting for the next 10 minutes I waited for the numbing agent they used to take affect. And In less than 5 min my tooth had been extracted. ECD your awesome...keep up the good work and see you soon
