Fantastic experience: Great place especially for those who fear the dentist. The atmosphere is relaxing and calming. The staff is friendly and I usually come on my lunch break for my cleaning and I am in and out before my lunch is over.

Positive experience: The ppl are nice. Nice and clean inside. Felt kind of like I was in an assemble line. I talked to at least 4/5 different people. The doctor said one thing and the person that came in after said something totally different. I came in for a cleaning and was there 2 hours and had nothing done but an exam. Left with a projected bill of $8K. I told them I only wanted to pay for what I got done which was X-rays and I would pay for whatever else on the day they I came to have it done. Somehow I still ended up paying for the next appt. I don’t think I’ll be back. I need something with a little more of a personal feel.

Negative experience: After many years as a patient I was stunned by the behavior of Tom with whom I was attempting to reschedule an appointment in October of 2025. After several failed attempts I said to Tom, "If I can't get an appointment rescheduled in a 5-6 month period I may have to find a new dentist for that appointment." Tom said very callously, "Thank you for your opinion." and hung up the phone. To Dr. Rome and her entire staff, excluding Tom, I have appreciated your service over the years. Treating someone as rudely as Tom was with me is unacceptable behavior. (Posted on 5-22-25)

Fantastic experience: I can sum up my experience with the doctors and staff at Bluebonnet Dental Care, Baton Rouge by saying I felt as though I were being treated the same as they would treat a member of their own family.

Negative experience: Last Tuesday May 6thI called because I was having a dental emergency. I was a returning patient. The woman who answered the phone asked me lots of questions about pain swelling Etc and then told me that I could not be seen until the 21st. Mind you this was on the 9th. I finally called back 3 days later because I was literally in agony at this point and was told that the person had answered the phone was basically an answering service and that they were really sorry but that I could come in that day. Flash forward to today after having a procedure at the endodontist I was referred to, I called back because they had to remove some of a crown to get to my tooth. This time the person who answered the phone told me I couldn't get an appointment until the 29th. Mind you this is with a crown that is not doing what it is supposed to do because they drilled a hole in it. Once I told the woman I was not to go to management and that this was unacceptable. she basically just said someone would call me back. I like Dr Rome quite a bit, the hygienist was nice and everybody was apologetic about what happened last week and delayed my care for 4 days . However that rings hollow because now I've had the problem for a second time, with two separate employees , I am losing faith in their ability to correct anything. So now I'm sitting here with a crown that is broken and no dental appointment to fix it. No one has called me about this so far. I'm seriously considering a different dentist. Customer service and patient care are very important to me and I am not getting adequate amounts of each. Choose carefully before you give these before you trust them with your dental care.

Negative experience: They won't tell you everything unless you pay extra for a "complete" exam.

From the front desk personnel and the hygienist, to the most amazing dentist Dr. Rome. They are all very kind, patient, and professional. I recommend this dental office to everyone that I know.

Negative experience: Update: my decision to get implant vs bridge was based on cost estimate. I chose implant as the insurance would have covered both at the same rate over 2 calendar years BASED on the treatment plan given to me. Next, the week of Christmas, I was given a new $900 bill that was NOT part of the original treatment plan. Apparently my simple insurance plan didn't cover the treatment that they told me they would cover. I had a very disappointing experience, not with the dentist (who is excellent), but with the company’s service. The day before my dental implant procedure, I called at 8:00 AM to request information and inquire about medication to help prepare for the experience. I was told an assistant would call me back, but I never received a response that day, and had to call back only to find out they were leaving early and I wouldn't be able to get the medicine before the procedure. While the procedure itself went smoothly, two days later, I noticed a loose suture around my mouth. Concerned about the risk of tearing the incision, I called the office. I was placed on hold but got disconnected twice. When I finally reached someone, they told me I could come in immediately but only had 10 minutes before closing, making it impossible for me to arrive in time since I was over 25 minutes away. They were unable to see me the next day, as the dentist was fully booked, and the earliest appointment offered was Tuesday. (now updated to 9:30 tomorrow but this is still an unacceptable situation) I found this lack of support after a serious procedure to be unacceptable. Next update: my implant next step (from bad experience above) has been scheduled for 6 months, but now they tell me she will be in surgery all day so I need to reschedule (48 hours out, when I had to reschedule 3 things on my own day around.) Current Status: partial refund issued of roughly 45% of the amount I paid over originally quoted. Ashley, an office manager has been very thankful for me reporting all this to her and they will work to be better. Upgraded my rating by one star, and will further improve it if I continue to have good experiences.

Fantastic experience: I woukd recommend this place to anyone. This has to be the best dental office I’ve ever been to. Shoutout to Ms Tracy and Dr. Roma I’m so afraid of needles I didn’t feel a thing when I got my feeling. The staff there is so nice I’ll be back every 6 months for sure I enjoy the happiness and awesome energy when you walk in the door. They really honor there statement it’s about the patient and they make you feel comfortable for sure. 1000/out of 10 this place breaks the scale

Negative experience: The service I have received from this dental office has been absolutely horrible .. booked an appointment decided I wasn't going to be able to make it because of scheduling issues at work canceled it 5 days later ... Was told a refund takes up to 30 days which is absolutely ridiculous .... 30 days to do and a refund .... How is this even possible ... If I were you I would think about spending your money somewhere else because it's not worth the hassle if you have a scheduling issue and you need to get your money back it's not going to work out in your favor ..... Don't waste your time with this dental office and I never will again I'll be taking my business elsewhere ...... You need to do better Bluebonnet dental Care get your s*** together

Negative experience: I’ve been a loyal patient at Bluebonnet Dental for years because Dr. Burkhalter is amazing, but the front office staff/insurance is completely unreliable. I’ve been waiting over four weeks just to get a price on a procedure, only to be met with constant misinformation. Not only did they mix up my primary and secondary insurance, but they were also given the correct effective dates—yet they continue to bill old claims to an inactive policy. It’s ridiculous. They’re so focused on getting paid but can’t even document and process the information correctly when it’s handed to them. I was placed on an extended hold, then disconnected, with no follow-up. I even gave them extra time to get a pre-treatment estimate, only to call back and find they were still clueless. Their go-to response? "We’ll call you back." But, of course, that call never happens—if they do call back, it’s never in a decent time frame. Since I’ve been a patient, this office has gone through multiple managers and a revolving door of front desk staff, yet the same disorganization and lack of professionalism remain. Why does nobody ever know what’s going on? It’s like they can’t even communicate with each other. At this point, it’s clear that leadership is aware of how poorly loyal patients are being treated—and the fact that nothing has improved speaks volumes. Dr. B. is the only reason I stayed as long as I did, but dealing with the front desk and billing department has become unbearable. I asked for the doctor to give me a call, and I’m not sure if they ever relayed the message, but it’s clear that nothing changes. I’ll be finding a dental office that truly values its patients and their time. And don’t respond to this review with a generic "please call the office" because you never answer the phones, and you never call back in a timely manner. Do better!!

Negative experience: Dr. Burkhalter is actually amazing, and so is her staff. Specifically Ms. Dede, her assistant. Dede made me feel really comfortable in a less than ideal situation. The reason for the low rating is due to the lack of follow up..I attended my appt at 8am Friday and it was determined that I need a root canal and that I have an infection. The doctor was supposed to call in my prescription for an antibiotic, but to my dismay when I got to the pharmacy at 1pm they still hadn’t received it. I called and called, left a message and eventually spoke to a staff member that assured me it would be sent in just a minute, and that they’d call me back to verify. Long story short, they didn’t. I went the entire weekend in terrible pain and had to forfeit Mardi Gras weekend and work. They called Monday morning apologizing and finally called it in. Though my initial experience was phenomenal, the lack of follow up left me feeling less than satisfied. I’m under the impression this is simply their MO, as my mom had an identical situation happen regarding her antibiotic and pain meds for a root canal as well. The lack of attention to detail is frustrating, especially when it resulted in suffering for days.

Negative experience: Beware of this office , I’ve been a customer for 2 years and every time I go there , there’s an added service you will never go just for a cleaning there’s always something extra . A cleaning doesn’t leave much revenue so there’s always an added X-ray and added periodontal , an added exam something just leeches for money I have never been satisfied not once I stayed here because I’m already a customer but I already contacted other offices and I’ll be taking my services elsewhere .

Fantastic experience: I had a WONDERFUL experience at Bluebonnet Dental! I t was far above treatment that I got at my previous dentist. They took X-rays from every angle imaginable, listened to my concerns, gave me an accurate diagnosis and serviced me for hundreds of dollars less than was told to me by the previous dental office. The dental technician was very thorough in the way she cleaned my teeth and Dr. Burkhalter was considerate and caring. I left with a plan for service going forward knowing what steps to take next. I was told about financing for the things insurance doesn't cover and they made it seem doable, not overwhelming. Thanks for everything ladies!

Fantastic experience: I had appointment Monday on Dec 16, 2024 to have 6 of the remaining teeth on my lower mouth and then I will have my bottom dentures put my moth. That was a very pleasant experience, , DR. Rome and the hygienist was the best. Dr. Rome has done most of my extractions and we laugh because I think it’s fixing to begin and she says you did great. lol she’s the best and I’m terrible with names but the hygienist was great as well. When they wasn’t working we were laughing. They really know how to make you feel a sense of calm and you know you’re going to be in the best hands. Bluebonnet dental care is the #1 in dental care

Fantastic experience: I went to a dentist down the road from essentially the time I was born until a few years ago. When the new dentist took over that place it went downhill. I came to Bluebonnet Dental Care because I heard great thinks about Dr. Burkhalter. Thankfully, I was not disappointed. I have had a couple different hygienists but the past two visits she has been the same and she’s very nice. I would definitely recommend this place and I’m biased towards Dr. Burkhalter as she’s great.

I recently chipped two previously bonded teeth and it had been several years since I’d been to a dentist so I wasn’t sure who to call as a new patient. Dr. Jennifer Rome was recommended to me and I was able to get an appointment the day I called. Dr. Rome and her staff put me at ease, fully assessed my situation and got to work, explaining everything carefully along the way!! I received a thorough check-up, gingival cleaning, and repair of both chipped teeth the same day! I can honestly say that I was brought to tears after seeing how Dr. Jennifer Rome repaired my previously bonded teeth. She matched the color perfectly and my teeth look 100% better than before! They are very natural, not over done and are perfectly aligned with my mouth. I WILL return for future dental needs and recommend her care to anyone looking for a talented, concerned, professional dentist who does excellent cosmetic work!!!

Negative experience: I love Dr. Burkhalter, but I didn't appreciate the experience I had with the precertification and insurance department. I paid $1500.00 up front, and was told that would be all I would have to pay. Later I was billed another $795.00. That's a big mistake. One I wasn't prepared for. I'm more than a little bit upset.

Fantastic experience: Dr Breah is the best she puts up with me have patience like Job very sweet and explains things throughly. I have had root canals crowns fillings bridges etc easy going hardly anything to complain about. Some services you have to pay upfront some backoffice issues over the years in accounting it's best to get pre- determination prior to major procedures ❤️
