Fantastic experience: Dr kang was the best! Made my kid feel so much at ease and was very nice.

Positive experience: My biggest complaint was that our appt was at 11am, and we didn’t see a hygienist until 11:50 - for a kid, that’s a long time. And then they said there were a few tiny cavities forming but did no scaling of any kind - just floss and polish. Waiting room is nicely decorated but really crowded with way too many chairs. Staff, hygienist and dentist was friendly, but if we have another wait like that in the future we will have to switch.

Fantastic experience: My son has been coming here for a few years now but today he brought his stuffy with him, and I forgot the lady’s name (started with a K) but she was so great with him. After taking care of my son’s teeth, she helped my son put gloves on and gave him a toothbrush, and together they took a look at and brushed the stuffy’s teeth. Thank you, that made his day!

Fantastic experience: The office and all of the staff were very welcoming and helpful, and did everything to make our 3 year old comfortable for her first dental exam. The office was extremely clean and they have TVs in the exam room so that the littles can have something to watch while they are getting their treatments. They even gifted our daughter a balloon and stuffed animal for her first visit. We will definitely be back it was such a friendly and welcoming experience.

Negative experience: I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I received during my appointment today. My scheduled appointment was at 10:30 AM, and I arrived at 10:15 AM. However, I was not seen until 10:50 AM. After a brief and routine cleaning, I was left waiting once again to be seen by the doctor. There appeared to be only one doctor available, who attended to seven other patients while we continued to wait. An employee informed me that, due to my insurance provider, a different doctor would be assisting us. However, after waiting until 11:50 AM, I was told that the alternate doctor was still unavailable and that Dr. Shen would see us instead as an exception. Dr. Shen spent less than five minutes with us before concluding the appointment. I found the entire experience to be unprofessional and frustrating. As a result, I declined to schedule a six-month follow-up or an orthodontic consultation. Despite clearly stating my decision, I later received an email confirming an appointment that I did not authorize. This is unacceptable. Please consider this a formal complaint. I will not be returning to your practice and would appreciate confirmation that all future appointments have been canceled.

Negative experience: ⸻ I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office. The dental assistants were rude and dismissive when I expressed concerns about my retainers. They insisted everything looked fine, and even the doctor said the retainers were “perfect.” But I knew something wasn’t right—they didn’t fit properly and felt extremely uncomfortable. Sure enough, after some back and forth, it turned out I was right—the retainers were the wrong fit. It’s frustrating to not be listened to and to be treated as if your concerns don’t matter. Patients know their own bodies, and it’s unacceptable to be ignored or talked down to, especially when the mistake was on their end. I won’t be returning. I hope this office learns to take patients more seriously and treat them with the respect they deserve.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 3:30. I arrived at 3:20pm but was not called in till 4:09. After my son’s teeth were brush, doctor still took another 20 mins to see us. The chair to the right of us switch patients 3 times before we were done. Why have appointments when they see you when they have time. But if I were to arrive more than ten minutes late they won’t see us.

Positive experience: This was my daughter’s first official visit to the dentist. She’s a toddler . Can barely seat still lol so you can imagine how frustrated I started to get when I had scheduled my appointment at 10 am . I had gotten there maybe like 10 15 mins before in case paper work needed to be done. Fast forward to an hour :) she finally got to see the doc. People that came in after me would get seen , get there treatment done and leave. Like then what’s the point of the appointment? Felt like they had Preferences . Over all the doc was nice very informative. Knew how to work with toddlers. They did find a way to make it up by giving my daughter alittle stuff animal lol . So she was content.

She’s incredibly professional, gentle, and genuinely cares about her patients' comfort and long-term oral health. The office is clean, welcoming, and well-organized, and the staff is always friendly and efficient. Dr. Janjik takes the time to explain procedures clearly and makes sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and skilled .

Fantastic experience: The staff at the Eagle Rock location are amazing. My husband takes our son and forgets to bring the insurance card. Thankfully it is never a problem. The staff knows how to find what they need and get us taken care of. I cannot be grateful enough for this extra service. When I am at work, the last thing i want is my husband calling to tell me the appointment was canceled because he didn't bring the darn insurance card. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Dr "Andy" Kang Is amazing. My son gives him a hug when he sees him. My son had to have treatment early on he was almost 3 at the time. It was a really difficult time. But the office staff -special nod to Jazmin in the back who is just so sweet to my son - including the manager and Dr Andy really have made it a special place and not a scary experience. We love dental fun zone for our family. My 3 nephews also see Dr Andy and they love him. Definitely recommend this site for your family as well. Every dental assistant is kind and patient with the kids ..they get it... and really take their time. Great experience considering they are at the dentist. LoL

Positive experience: They are amazing dentist. But kind of unhappy for this visit I just had today. I drive from north hollywood to eagle rock just for this location of how they treat kids so nice and how they offer them toys as soon as they are done with their visit. But this time it wasn't nothing like that. I left disappointed and my kids left confused. The dentist clerk finished the task with my sons and left to get started with another kid. Did not offer them toys or talk to them through the process, nothing! Its not about the toy its about how they were very nice and focus on the kids happiness of wanted to come to the dentist. That's how the dental team got them use to, my kids been here since they were little so they are use to getting their toy. Now its not the same its different stuff, different actions.

Originally he went in very nervous all his dental experiences have been brutal, here at Children’s Dental FunZone, he was acknowledged and explained what would be done and how it works with care and love, he was included in his own care if he wanted to help and felt proud, he was also given the space to express his feeling and cry, that it was okay to feel nervous and scared, staff took their time to how things work and what would be done to him. Thank you! Once again our first great dental experience!! Facility is clean, staff has best customer service ever experienced! We are definitely going back!!!

Fantastic experience: This was our first time at Children’s Dental Funzone and they did not disappoint! The entire staff was very friendly and very welcoming. Thank you and huge shout out to Dr. Andy, Celine and Carlos for being so awesome with our daughter as well as the front desk receptionist. Carlos went above and beyond with his cheerful disposition, charisma and just making our daughter’s first time dental experience a really fun one. They even have plush toys and teacup toys as a giveway which we thougt were so cute and thoughtful. The place is very vibrant and has ocean theme on their walls, have tablet station for kids when they’re waiting and they even have an aquarium which was so cool! Definitely excited to go back for our daughter’s 6 month checkup

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy and grateful for the treatment and care that we received at the Children s Dental Funzone at the 1501 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles California 90041. The moment I got there with my daughter, we were greeted with smiles and courtesy from the front staff. We met with Dr. Andy Kang and the rest of team at the back office and everyone provided excellent service. Dr. Kang is very, nice, kind, full of compassion and knowledgeable of what he does. My daughter had tooth extractions, and tooth filling today 3/21/2025 and from the beginning until the end , he made her feel safe, heard and comfortable. He communicated well and explained the process step by step and used terms and metaphors where my 7 year old daughter could really understand and I think that’s what helped my daughter be at ease and comfortable throughout the process. I saw how Dr. Kang and staff treated my daughter and could see how much they love their job and how great they are at what they do, through the interactions, not just my daughter, but towards the other kids there. When were in the car, my daughter said “mom when are we going back again?, everyone so nice and nothing hurted when the dentist was taking my tooth out”. She was happy when I said on your next appointment. I also met with Mrs. Ramirez, and the Orthodontist and were all amazing and knowledgeable and really felt care and compassion from the services provided. After talking to the dentist and the orthodontist, I felt how honest they were and will not push you to do procedures that they think are not necessary and we’re grateful for that. I am also very thankful to Miss Nayeli Garcia, treatment coordinator who went above and beyond with explaining the costs of how each of the procedures were going to cost us. She made me feel at ease and comfortable throughout the process and she answered all the questions I had and helped ease any concerns that I had. This place does not feel like a dentist clinic. Like the name more like a funzone, warm, cozy, welcoming and exciting. My daughter looks forward to coming here. The fun decorations on the wall are also fun to look at like your under the sea, full of colors inviting when u come in. They also gave my daughter ballon and a toy after her treatment which was the icing on the cake for her. Overall experience was a 10/10. To all the staff there, thank you for everything and we are grateful for all that you do.

Fantastic experience: The staff is super duper friendly and sociable with the fact my 3 year old toddler learning and exploring. The organization is very impressed with the children. The dental assistant had an amazing way to keep my kids calm and happy. The dentist doctor, she was great, funny, caring and professional. The inside of the building had fish tank, drawing on the walls, tables and tv's for kids. And at the end my kids got a price for being good. Thank you guys for your great service.

Positive experience: Calling in and making appointments is hard, no one answers the phones or returns voicemails. You can not do online appointments and there is no one returning online emails for questions or appointment requests to reschedule, including corporate...Ortho only gives two days a week so if there a broken brace bracket you have to wait literally till Weds or Saturday. The Eagle Rock Location seating doesn't make sense. Always so crowded and parking is worse. Im glad my daughter almost done with braces...smh..Besides that, the environment is great for children.

Positive experience: This was my 6 year old first big treatment for cavities , it was not a pleasant experience for him doctor did not explain nothing as she went to do procedure just kept going not asking him are you doing ok ! Door was wide open with nurses coming in asking questions to the Doctor and letting Doctor know of next procedure she will be doing all while Doctor was doing procedure with my child , after all was done my sons hoodie of his jacket was soaked in water they use for the procedure not only his hoodie but his shirt was soaked in the back neck area as well. Her work was very tough and rough on his little mouth ! I feel if Doctor knows it’s a child’s first big procedure they should put child at easy and check in on patient!

Positive experience: The team has always made our experience a great one. My little loves going to the dentist. And the feedback from the staff is always helpful. The only thing I would suggest is the number of times I received a call asking to confirm the dental insurance. Even after submitting dental insurance online and over the phone on our initial scheduling call. Also keep the schedule updated with accurate information if 4:30 appointments are not available do not make them available.

Negative experience: The person assign to us seem to be having a bad morning, maybe she not an early bird but really has nothing to do with the patients. After the doctors check the same person assigned to my kids was with another patient already, thought that she was suppose to be with us till we finished and left. She made someone else help me with paper signatures and appointment.

Negative experience: Overall my experience was not good , they were overly crowded all the seats were taken given they had at least 25 seats in the waiting room ppl were standing up and you couldn’t walk by . It was my daughters first time and they had us wait a whole hour over one signifier they didn’t receive on the online documents when I had signed it 3 times . It was ridiculous. Other than that the place does look nice and for children

Fantastic experience: Juan Carlos Cisneros was SOOOOO amazing, he was patient , explained everything to my 10 year old who was extremely nervous! He didn’t make us feel like my son was an inconvenience for being anxious! He truly changed my son entire perspective about visiting the dentist. Dr. Cortez was also amazing , she transfers confidence, truly amazing staff. My son’s extraction was a breeze; he didn’t even realize when the tooth got pulled out! They answered all my questions. Wonderful experience beginning from the front desk girls . 100000% recommend this office.

Fantastic experience: This was my sons second visit. As a four year old it can be a scary place to visit. I prepared him in advance of what to expect. Arriving here the dental assistants were very nice along with the dentist. He warmed up To them quick. I believe their tone of voice and constant praising Helps with the process. Good job!

Negative experience: Would give 0 star just for ruthlessness and the waiting time. Kids are asked to be hungry for 3 hours before arriving to office. Came there 3 hours hungry and on time. had to wait an hour till the doctor arrived. The Treatments took an hour, and we had to wait an hour after treatment for him to drink or eat. I knew its kids dental . But no one cares about kids. They are kids. 6-7 hours for 8 years old kid to pass for a treatment is not fair. However, when we are late for 5 minutes, they don’t accept and start another patient’s treatment. Doctors are professional but service is intolerable.

Fantastic experience: Fast service, clean office, efficient stuff. I took my son for cavities they scheduled a treatment appoint right away. My son was seen by Dr. Kang. She was courteous, fast, and performed a baby root canal on a fast manner. Doctor kept cheering up my son on how good he was enduring the procedure. Doctor explained well the procedure and answered all my questions.

Positive experience: UPDATED 10/2024 Review: We had a dental insurance change, PPO now, so we don’t need referrals to come here. Again, the dentist and assistants are wonderful, kind and caring. My kids prefer Dr. Kang and so do I, he really is great with younger kids, he is gifted, so for any treatments, I request him. Since changing insurances we haven’t had a problem here. OLD REVIEW: The dentist and dental assistants we dealt with were sweet and caring. BUT having to set up appointments and deal with them has been a nightmare, they never called me back I called 2 month after my kids visit, to ask if the got the approval, the receptionist said they’ll call me back. They didn’t call me back for 3 months until I called them to ask what happened, did they get an approval for my kids dental work or not, what’s going on (to my surprise the referral was about to expire, what?!) Why wasn’t I called and then the receptionist said “We’re sorry about that, it’s been a mess around here.”, huh? I take some fault I could of called sooner, I had an oh crap moment of they never called me back again. After getting my kid an appointment they had to reassess her because it had been so many months since the last time they saw her and then they couldn’t even do the work because of some excuse about our insurance. Bet if I was on county Medicare they wouldn’t forget to call and would be at our beck and call.

Fantastic experience: We used to go to another Dr(lady) different dental office, but she was very unprofessional with kids.So we change our Dental office to Children's Fun zone and it's close to our location.But unfortunately we had a bad experience with another DR in this office too,the dr was hurting my son, he was crying during treatment, but she was continuing after my son was uncontrollable moving and crying she just stand and left.So I was a little frustrated .But fortunately we found Dr King,he is so professional,he knows how to treat with kids,he is always explaining my 8 yers old boy,what he is gonna do,whta is the process, and we removed 2 teeth with him,no any pain or frustration or uncomfortable situation.He is a great Dr, and now always making appointment with him,cause my boy is coming out from this office happy:) Thank you Dr King.

Fantastic experience: I love how careful and fast they are with the kids! They make it a fun an inviting environment for the boys. My youngest was traumatized from a previous experience at another dentist and wouldn’t let them brush his teeth for a usual cleaning. Over the past 3 years they have worked with him starting with a regular soft toothbrush and now he does the cleaning with no tears

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for years, the staff is super friendly and the Dr’s are amazing! My daughter needed a procedure for her cavity and they even provided her with a blanket for comfort! It really is kid friendly, provided with a fish tank, iPads and tv’s for kiddos to feel a little more comfort. At the end of our appt’s my daughter always gets a toy !

Fantastic experience: I thought that getting braces on my eight-year-old would be a jarring experience. However, children’s dental fun zone makes it fun. She looks forward to changing the color of her rubber bands every visit.

Positive experience: My daughter's experience is always positive. However, the only two times we made appointments, someone from.the office called us to cancel my daughter's appointment AT THE LAST MINUTE for one reason or another.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here since they opened, all.the Drs are great & so are the nurses but I gotta say Danny is the best always so attentive to my kids needs I feel like my kids are comfortable as soon as they seen him, such a kind soul!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Janik is the BEST! She has been my son’s DDS since he was 1 year old. All of the staff is extremely friendly and professional, the office itself is well kept, always decorated. You walk into an underwater scene and they even have a cool fish tank in the corner. Appointments are always available, they remind you via text and calls about upcoming visits and paperwork is all online and very easy to fill. We love Children’s Dental FunZone!

Fantastic experience: We always receive great dental care from this place, today was absolutely exceptional! We were helped by Carlos and he was absolutely wonderful! He made my shy daughter comfortable helped her talk. His way of working with children and was over the top and we absolutely loved him! Thank you for taking the extra time to talk to him and make her feel comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place. I’ve been here twice. Now. The first time I took my daughter. Here was the first time shes ever been to the dentist. They made her feel comfortable.
