Fantastic experience: I went to Bend Family Dentistry for the first time to schedule removing all 4 of my wisdom teeth. As nerve wracking as that sounds, it was great! Dr. Covalt and his team were fantastic. They were all very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and caring. The intake appointment was super easy. They asked me the necessary work up questions, took x-rays of my teeth, and explained everything very well. The next appointment was when I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed and it was much quicker than I thought. Everything went smoothly and they made sure I was comfortable the whole time. They even gave me a blanket to stay warm. I’d never been to a dentist that offered that. It definitely showed they cared. The post appointment check up was just as efficient, friendly, and fast. Overall, the experience was better than any other dentist appointments I’ve had. I actually want to schedule a cleaning soon and won’t be dreading it. The office is pretty aesthetically pleasing as well. 10/10 Recommend.

Fantastic experience: They make you feel very relaxed. Which is hard to do when you are sitting in that chair. Everyone in the office is so nice and very helpful.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible practice! Heartless money hungry people, only out to make an easy dollar. Hopefully they fail and have to close all three locations. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Absolute joke of a practice.

Fantastic experience: We had an incredible experience at Bend Family Dentistry! We were visiting Sunriver on vacation when my daughter slipped near a pool and split her tooth in half. I called around several places and this was the only office willing to squeeze us in under such short notice. The staff was so kind and helpful during this emergency! We were fortunate enough to have Dr.Builder who made us feel like long-term patients of his. He was very kind to my daughter and made sure she was comfortable the entire time. We were really fortunate to find this place and be seen by him!

Fantastic experience: Great experience! Really took the time, explained everything before they proceeded. Explained the X-rays and what they were looking for and why. This has never been done for me before. 5 star! Definitely recommended!!

Negative experience: They didn’t once inform me that they weren’t in my insurance network, so I was left with massive dental bills.

Negative experience: Bend Family Dentistry on 3rd street has been our dentist for about 4-5 years. Sadly, I’ll be leaving and going to a new dentist. Their prices have become outrageous! They have a great newcomer discount for first x rays and exam, and their hygienists are all AMAZING. My kids have loved going there each time they get cleanings. But once they get you in the door, they charge you A LOT. As someone without dental insurance, I can’t spend an arm and a leg for basic services. I just got quoted $700 from them to re-glue my lingual bar (permanent retainer) back in behind my bottom front teeth. It’s the same bar I’ve had that just fell out, not a brand new one. When I said that was ridiculous, the doctor said she agreed and they lowered the cost to under $400. Still high for a very quick appointment to have a metal wire glued back in. All of their services are on the far upper end of what the average dentists charge locally; the job they do is average and their customer service is average at best. The exception to that would be the hygienists and cleanings. I’ve always had excellent cleanings and great attentiveness from the hygienists. But for the rest of the procedures they offer, their communication between departments can be shoddy. Many times have I been told one thing by the doctor who did my exam just to be told a different thing by the billing department or the dental assistant and left confused. I just got quoted by Bend Family Dentistry $9,000 for a dental implant that I’ll need to have done in the next year or so. Nothing fancy, just removal of a baby tooth that never had an adult tooth underneath - a molar. But an admittedly expensive procedure no matter where you go. A different dentist quoted me $2,500 around 5 years ago. The typical cost for a single dental implant is $2,000-6,000 here in the state of Oregon. I plan on scheduling this implant procedure at a dentist in town who posts their prices online and believes in transparency in billing. It will cost me less than half of the price tag BFD put on it. The final straw is that they have now changed their cash pay discount to only include cash and check payments —no credit cards. Considering that the cash pay discount is only 5%, it’s not a huge difference, but an important one to me. When you’re spending an arm and a leg at least they used to give you your pinky finger back. This just further illustrates the way they are grabbing for money.

Fantastic experience: This was the first time I’d been to the dentist in at least 5 years…and let me tell you, it was definitely out of necessity and under serious duress lol!! My husband went up first as I took the elevator, trying to get the ball rolling for me checking me in because the water works had already begun due to a filling that had fallen out about 6 months ago and I refused to make an appointment…the farm girl in me assured myself this tooth would just fall out. I mean ‍♀️ right!?! as long as I just kept brushing and flossing eventually it’d just bloop itself out?? ‍ no…it doesn’t work like that…and I ABSOLUTELY KNEW IT! FFS I worked my entire career in the medical field…I was literally just making the biggest argument of avoidance I’ve ever seen and it was on MYSELF ‍ well now I got to suffer for it…As I went into the Lobby I was so kindly greeted and then had to wait hardly even 5-7 minutes and the KINDEST dental assistant came and took me back to a far back room where there was the BEST alternative rock playing (happens to be my FAVORITE GENRE!!). It just always makes me want to sit in a lounge chair take a couple hits and chill…well that’s basically what I did I guess lol the dentist came right in and I just LOST IT AND WAS UGLY CRYING LIKE A COMPLETE IDIOT!! This poor guy omg!! But he was so great!! So so kind seriously!! I just seriously was “PLEASE OMG IT HURTS SO SO BAD!! Please make it stop I can’t handle it anymore! Just get it out! I don’t even care anymore!” But add in the super ugly crying sobs to that at the same time…so yeah…I’m sure that I was just a peach of a scene in that moment. Honestly though that one tooth was causing me so much pain I would have been willing to cut off my own arm to make it stop. Both Dr Cobalt…I think that’s what he said…in the least I know it sounds like that…and his assistant today made me laugh like we had all been old friends, got me out of pain asap and were by far just the most awesome, caring, and down to earth people I’ve ever seen in dentistry. I had absolutely ZERO anxiety. None!! They were absolutely incredible!! I know too a lot of people it may seem like nothing…but when you start out your dental memories being held down by a grown man at the age of two to have your very first tooth pulled and then ended up ALWAYS have tons of dental work done after every cleaning no matter what you do…it just feels nice to not have a dentist basically tell you that you’re a complete failure at life because of whatever you’re there for that day. Especially since my teeth are the way they are due to genetics not because of ME. But as a kid all the old drs loved to tell me I would be with dentures by 30…well guess what dead guys I’m 40! And only missing 1 tooth right now so HA!! So thanks for today and all the days to come!! I am actually really excited to go back and be getting my teeth all fixed up. Also pretty excited to quit smoking after my teeth are fixed as I promised my family…don’t worry about that or details…it’s just something I’ve wanted after getting my teeth all fixed and beautiful. That’s my promise and I want to keep it. So thank you for being that group to help me do it!!

Fantastic experience: I grew up witnessing my parents and their siblings losing their teeth young. They were children of immigrants; poverty and malnutrition in their youth played a role. They grew up over 100 years ago. This gave me a strong drive to maintain my teeth. After a bad dental report from another office, I called Bend Family Dentistry hoping to get a 2nd opinion. The woman who answered immediately went into action to see what they could do for me. Weeks later I walked out of Bend Family Dentistry on 3rd Street in Bend, my teeth properly cleaned and I’m smiling. I witnessed confident employees who love their jobs. I highly recommend Bend Family Dentistry. They provide excellent quality work, show compassion and listen to you, and their prices are reasonable. She and her assistant (sorry I forgot her name) we're both great. They were gentle, kind and let me know what they were doing and when they were doing it. My tooth is fixed and they did a great job!

Fantastic experience: Very hesitant to go in and get everything looked at… did the new Member x rays, and for the first time I’m feeling optimistic not only to go back , but I’m Thankful I have a plan in place and met the right people to get my mouth Healthy and enjoy smiling again.Thank you to the hygienist who did my x rays, and to the dentist! Fantastic experience: I came here after dealing with a different dentist for a couple years. These folks are very nice and polite. They seem to actually care. They listened well to my concerns and answered my questions completely. As with any health care it isn't cheap. The primary issue in my case is that my insurance doesn't cover a couple of essential things I need addressed. This issue isn't on the dentist. I highly recommend them. I will update after my first treatment.

Negative experience: Unbelievable. I was a patient with Bend Family Dentistry for 4 years. At my last visit, they charged me (and insurance) for bite wings when I did not have bite wings taken. Despite calling to have the situation addressed, they refused to correct the bill. Purely criminal to charge for services not rendered.

Negative experience: I don't know where to start! I first went in for a broken tooth lower front. Then had a full exam, I thought. But that dentist left and I never received a care plan. Then 6 months later I did have a procedure that so far has saved my upper front tooth that has had a crown on it for over 50 years. I finally in August got in for my comprehensive apt. Which they kept telling me that I needed. I waited ..sat down in the Chair and was told that I already had that exam and they couldn't treet me there! I've been paying $60. A month for Delta Dental + and have no idea where to go next!

Fantastic experience: Very Professional practice!! Rachel was an experienced hygienist new to Bend Family Dentistry. Many practices would have thrown her to the wolves, she was monitored in a professional way. I was very pleased with the care by all staff!

Fantastic experience: The Providers and staff here are incredible, they completely understand needing to wait on treatment for financial purposes, they are kind and considerate, and very patient with different circumstances and needs. I highly recommend this dentist office!

Negative experience: I didn’t have the best experience as a patient at this dental office. We initially planned to fill several cavities, divided between two appointments—one for each side of my mouth. However, things didn’t go as expected. During the first appointment, I received one filling on one side, which unfortunately fell out after a month. At the second appointment, the filling was redone, but the dentist ran out of time to complete the other planned work. The same issue occurred during the third appointment, leaving me with unfinished work on both sides. After three appointments and still needing more work, I chose to cancel my fourth appointment. I was concerned about the likelihood of leaving once again with incomplete treatment. Additionally, I now have a large gap between my back molars after the filling was placed, which makes eating uncomfortable and it has become painful, even when not eating. I also requested nitrous oxide due to dental anxiety, but it was forgotten during each visit until the procedure had already begun. While I understand it was partly my responsibility to remind them, it added to the overall frustration. During my last appointment, they did offer the nitrous at no charge, which was appreciated, but it would have been more helpful if the agreed-upon treatment plan had been completed after three attempts. Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience! Friendly, accommodating staff helped me get an appointment on very short notice (I'm traveling and only had a brief window of time in Bend). They helped me figure out what exactly was causing me pain and took care of it all in one visit. They ended up replacing a couple fillings, during which I actually fell asleep! If that isn't high praise for their high quality, gentle work, then I'm not sure what is! Thanks to the whole team there for what I might actually call an enjoyable dentist visit... I didn't even know that was a possibility before today ☺️

Bend Family Dentistry was able to put me with a different hygienist named Jamie for my 6 month cleaning. Jamie was a gem! She was so kind, considerate and understanding of my health issue. Fantastic experience: I have high anxiety with dentists and bad experiences in the past. So I broke my tooth and got to see caring gentle dentistry. Misty the Dental technician was sweet, explained everything, calm and gentle, prepped me for the dentist, she was great ,explained and took her time with me, than I got my teeth cleaned. They made the new crown while I was waiting, about 20 minutes, on the same visit they did the prep work. Very modern and comfortable office.

Fantastic experience: I was having an issue with a a tooth that was causing me severe pain and they were able to get me in on a timely manner to make a diagnosis. The thing that I was impressed with was the front-end staff. They were beyond helpful sorting out my benefits and they made several phone calls and made arrangements to see an Endo for my tooth issue. They did not need to do all the leg work that they did, but I really appreciated it because I was not feeling that great. Thanks Page Huber

Fantastic experience: Very comfortable setting and staff. All the staff were very nice and supportive. They were also good at checking out the issues I was having. Post visit I feel like i shouldve asked to have them look at all my teeth. They identified the primary problem I was having and outlined some solutions which is very helpful. I have pain in other areas of my mouth and teeth that I wish I had knowledge as to what that was from.

Fantastic experience: I am new to bend and this is the first dental practice I’ve been to; my experience exceeded my expectations! From the hygienist, Shanna, the doctor who saw me, to the admin staff, they were all very thorough (& lovely to a newbie Bendite) and gave me the time needed to feel comfortable and understand all that they do in a typical cleaning visit. Super convenient location with easy parking is a plus as well!

The fact that she goes above and beyond to know her patient’s names is so great. Fantastic experience: I love going here. Personally love getting my teeth cleaned, it's relaxing. All the people here are so nice, they try so hard to get you in ASAP. The office is also so clean and cozy. Only downside is I can never remember anyone's name, there is so much staff, so I can't say I have a regular dentist or hygienist but I don't mind because the quality of care is consistent across the board.

Fantastic experience: I have pretty severe dental anxiety and as a result hadn't been in to see a dentist in over 5 years, but the staff at Bend Family Dentistry were so kind and understanding. My hygienist made sure to explain everything she was doing so there was never any fear of not knowing what was happening in my mouth. Overall a wonderful experience, and I no longer have to dread dental appointments!

Fantastic experience: I had a filling fall out. Called my dentist of 19 years. They scheduled me for 14 days out. ( and 5 months out for a cleaning) So I tried another dentist. (Bend Family Dentistry) I got in the same day and my filling was fixed perfectly. Like it never happened. So now I have a new dentist. I’d like to add that I got in for a cleaning on Friday of the same week. Beats March from my former dentist. And even better, it’s much closer to my home. Thank you Dr Grady and Lori for getting me in. You’ll see me again.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for almost 20 years. All the staff is professional, kind and pain free! They really do go the extra mile to make sure I am comfortable; and, if you get the right exam room you get a beautiful view of the mountains!

Fantastic experience: Hands down, the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Covalt and his assistant Morgan were absolutely incredible! They were patient with me as I worked through some anxiety, they were personable and just so kind! I have yet to have an experience with this whole office that is less than amazing!

Fantastic experience: Hands down the BEST Dental experience that I have ever had. They have outstanding staff that do a great job at making your dental experience enjoyable. As someone who has not had the best of dental experiences throughout my life this practice has been a GAME CHANGER and I'm looking forward to continue working with them. Dr. Zaidi provided an extremely thorough examination and treatment plan for me! She was more than happy to answer any and all of my questions. My hygienist Missy also sent me a card welcoming me to the practice following my first appointment! They truly go above and beyond at this practice.

Fantastic experience: I came in for my routine cleaning the Friday of my birthday weekend and upon check out they gifted me with a Starbucks gift card! It was such a thoughtful gesture and much appreciated. My dental hygienist was very thorough and professional.

Fantastic experience: I don’t mean to be hyperbolic, but this was the most phenomenally positive experience I can recall having at a dentist’s office. They told me the price without insurance up front, the customer service was superlative, and the dentist came in and consulted with me about both short-term and long-term concerns even before my cleaning started. The hygienist was the best part of all: She was fabulous company.

Fantastic experience: Excellent dental practice, after several recommendations from friends and co-workers I've never looked back after choosing them. Shanna has been a blessing to me as a go to dentist/hygienist and I can't recommend her enough if you have the choice!. In fact even when I've had to have a cleaning from anyone there, they have all been friendly, fantastic personalities and professional with their quality of work. I moved from out of state several years ago and am more impressed with them as a practice compared to my old dentist. 5 star all the way!

I love every thing about them - it's a super comfortable, super friendly place with the nicest people who are also really really skilled. Dr. Jones is a master, and I have never had a bad experience there!

Fantastic experience: Best dental office ever, very thorough and care about your overall health not just your teeth! My family has been going here for 20+ years. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else. My 18 year old just had an appointment with Dr. Hayley to fix some coloring on a tooth that had been chipped and fixed prior, but was still bothering her. She was wonderful with my daughter and getting her beautiful smile back into tip top shape!

The culture of the office is one of honor. They honored each other by celebrating each other's talents and honored me as a patient that they genuinely cared about. Fantastic experience: Dr. Tasooji and Cassandra are an incredible team. I would trust them with any dental work. I was anxious about getting a crown and may have even shed a few tears at the first appointment, but Cassandra talked me through the process and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I had my second/final visit today and could not be happier with how everything went. From start to finish, it was a very positive experience. Everyone I've encountered at Bend Family Dentistry is not only skilled at their job, but they are kind and compassionate human beings too. Highly recommend!
