Fantastic experience: I just brought my son for his first visit to this dentist's office and was absolutely blown away! The whole experience is perfectly designed for children to feel comfortable going to the dentist. He loved the waiting room with fun activities to keep him busy and the special TV that he was able to watch while getting his teeth cleaned. His hygienist was so kind and patient and explained everything to him along the way. The dentist was also kind and took so much time to talk with both of us. My son loved it so much that he has already when he gets to go back! I highly recommend this office for anyone with young children!

Fantastic experience: The staff is amazing from the front welcome desk to the checkout staff! Everytime we have been our kids are treated like they are the only patient there and get the best work. Dr. Jessica is great at explaining and talking with the kids on their level. Today my son had a cap peel back causing pain on his tongue, they were fully booked but worked him in so it didn't become a problem through he holiday weekend! Amazing service!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ashley Russel did my daughter's cavities and extractions today at East TN Children's hospital and I felt at ease the whole time. She was very informative and answered all my questions. All the dentist we've seen have been amazing though, and take really great care of my daughter. We love the dentist office too. It's clean, nice, and very kid friendly!

Fantastic experience: They’re very helpful and respectful. My daughter is really adamant about them nor doing x rays and hesitation about them touching her mouth, and they have been understanding and patient with us as she has a lot of anxiety especially surrounding people touching her (shes 5 and we started going when she was 2).

Fantastic experience: My 9 year old daughter had her visit today with Dr Ashley after switching from another pediatric dentist we weren’t happy with. Everyone at the office was very nice and helpful, very patient and caring. My daughter struggles with anxiety and they made her feel calm the whole time. I am going to start taking my toddler here as well.

My daughter has always been super afraid of the dentist and would fight and scream when taken to her old dentist. She wouldn’t do X-rays. She wouldn’t lay back in the chair. She has done all the things today!! They walked her through everything and showed her what would happen. This was an amazing experience!!! I will note she was has sensory processing and sever anxiety. Dr.Jessica and the hygienist she had today were fantastic! They came highly recommended to us as well!

Fantastic experience: My girls have been seeing Dr Jessica Phillips for about 10 years. Sad my teen will age out soon— she’s sad too. The staff are very friendly and competent. The environment is cheery and relaxing and puts children and parents at ease. My kids especially love that they can pick a show or movie to watch, and, of course the token for their prize at the end. Getting their name on the “cavity free” wall is always their goal.

I appreciate all their care and how they get you in fairly quickly for unexpected dental mishaps. So thankful they understand the need to take care of patients in a timely fashion! My 19 month old had his first checkup, and it went as well as it could. I was thankful for their patience and that they so do well with kids of all ages.

Fantastic experience: My daughter’s appt was at 12:30 and she was seen on time and completed her cleaning and exam by 1pm (no X-rays this visit). Very timely and efficient! Great kid-friendly environment. The kids Passport (dental report) is a cute and unique tool for kids to be involved in the process.

Negative experience: This is a warning for parents. My ex-husband took our daughter here in the summer, although this is not her primary dentist. They did x-rays and said that she had 6 cavities, all need capped and one needed to be removed immediately. I just took our daughter to her primary dentist, they did X-rays, and she has two small cavities that can be filled with fillings. What if they would have been our primary dentist? Our daughter would have perfectly fine teeth, capped and one removed. HUGE WARNING. Seems like this place just wants more money.

By the end, my child left smiling, holding her new toothbrush and a little prize from the treasure chest. It was such a relief to have such a positive first experience at the dentist, and I’m so grateful for the wonderful care we received. East Tennessee Pediatric Dentistry had everything we were looking for and more! Both the hygienists and the doctors were great and made my son feel right at home.

Fantastic experience: We were referred to ETPD by our dentist. They were incredible. Our 7yr old son needed a tooth pulled & a cap put on another tooth. He was very nervous about it but they explained every thing they were doing all the way thru. They went out of their way to hide tools & bloody gauze so he wouldnt see it. They let him take a break half way thru to rest for a minute. Praising him thru it all for being so good. After they were done they let him sit in the room till he felt up to walking. They offered pain reliever before we left since we had a drive home. They gave him a popsicle. Even though they were probably busy, they didn't make us feel rushed. We so appreciate everything about the visit. We will definitely be making them our sons dentist going forward. They really know how to put a kids fear at ease. Just an overall great experience from the time we walked in to the time we left. Thank you ETPD!!!

Negative experience: We have had an awful experience at this dentist office. There insurance people have been nothing but rude. We have medical and dental insurance and they are still billing nearly 300 dollars for a yearly cleaning even though they take our insurance. I have canceled all the rest of our appointments and she said back was “you can come back when you have a better plan.” My family works so hard to afford both medial and dental insurance. Her attitude and tone and inability to pick up and phone and ask a question instead of just continuing to bill us because she doesn’t like our insurance plan in outrageous. They accept or plan and our plan accepts them. We called and double checked with both parties before we came! They lied to us! Go somewhere else.

The staff was outstanding, and the office is very comfortable and inviting to kids. We watched TV while his teeth were cleaned and both the dental hygienist and dentist made sure to answer my questions and counsel us on good oral hygiene. Very glad I chose this office and dentist!
