Fantastic experience: I have been going to Greater LI Dental for over 5 years. Each doctor and all their staff are knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. They take the fear out of going to the dentist. The office is spotless and comfortable. I highly recommend them. Needless to say my whole family and a few friends go to them. We are all very happy to have them as our dental family.

Fantastic experience: Had a dental emergency on a Saturday morning and they were the only ones to take us in. We arrived at closing time and they took their team, treated us fantastic, and my wife had nothing but positive things to say. You've gained a patient for life.

Fantastic experience: Was treated today by Dr. Backer. She and her assistant were excellent. Had a crown placed in about 90 minutes - start to finish. Treatment was pain free and even received a call from the Dentist this evening, checking on how I felt. I highly recommend Dr. Backer.

Fantastic experience: As a family we needed a new dental office. We wanted great care. And a professional staff. Thank goodness someone recommended Greater Long Island Dental. We are not local, we drive from the Huntington area because this is the best Dental Practice around. My husband is so excited and happy with his "new teeth". His smile looks great! My daughter loves the Chelsea! This is the place to come for excellent care.

Fantastic experience: I should start by saying, I saw a dentist that manages his own practice and this man shaved down my molars unnecessarily and threw off my entire bite. According to that doctor, my bite is fine, even though I’m having issues. Greater Long Island Dental took my call and brought me in to evaluate what was going on. They have all of the high tech equipment, their staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and I am dealing with Rebekah Collins, who I can tell cares and knows what she’s talking about. They were able to image my teeth and see the high spots and set me up with a bite neutralizer and some things to do at home to see if we can’t solve the problem. Two weeks later I go back and they check again very throughly, as well as take X-rays. My bite was different on the new scans which means the treatment is working and I’m getting relief in my bite. Rebekah listens and isn’t jumping the gun on drilling and shaving other teeth down, she’s coming up with a gentle plan to get my bite back on track. I can honestly say that I trust her and the staff at Greater Long Island Dental to fix the damage that has been caused. If I tell them I feel something or I’m worried about something they actually listen and take what I’m saying into consideration. Which is major because now I’m terrified of kind of dental work. However, I do trust them and have the utmost confidence that they will get me as close as they can to normalcy. My only regret is I didn’t come here first. If you’re on the fence on what dentist to go to, I highly recommend Greater Long Island Dental to get the job done and get it done correctly. I couldn’t be more thankful.

Fantastic experience: I needed to make an urgent appointment on a Saturday. The office was so accommodating. I usually see Dr Backer, but she was off. She called the front desk staff that night and told them I would call in the morning for an appointment. They squeezed me in, didn’t wait too long. Dr Geraci was great! Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked into Greater Long Island Dental, I felt completely comfortable and genuinely welcomed. This was my very first visit, and the experience was truly exceptional. The entire staff came out to personally say hello, greeted my daughter so warmly, and gave us a full tour of the office. What really stood out to me is how they treated my daughter. She’s usually very scared of the dentist, but she felt so at ease here. They gave her a balloon, offered her little gifts, and went out of their way to make her feel safe and happy—which in turn made me feel so reassured and grateful as a mom. The office itself is beautiful, clean, and fully stocked with thoughtful touches like snacks, water, and a coffee machine. They even gave me a welcome gift, which was such a sweet and unexpected gesture. Greater Long Island Dental has such a warm, heart-filled atmosphere. Everyone there goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. I’ll definitely be coming back—and recommending them to everyone I know!

Fantastic experience: I came to greater Long Island dental after seeing them on social media and they did not disappoint. From the moment I walked in they felt like family. Everyone is so kind and friendly. From the wonderful ladies at the front desk to the dental assistant Cori who was so patient and gentle with me. Dr Geraci was amazing. He took his time with me, going over everything that I need to have done. I have a fear of dental work and they put me at ease and were patient and understanding with me. Fantastic experience: Switched over from my old family dentist in Valley Stream who I knew since birth to come over here to GLID more than 20 years ago. I had needed a cosmetic dentist at the time as I used to model and they did a superb job here at GLID. I was so happy that two years later after realizing I needed to go to a dentist that was younger and more knowledgeable and up to date for lack of better words, and just one practice that did more than just usual simple dental work, I decided to go back to GLID. I’ve now been using and seeing Dr Woltmann for over a decade at least and I’ve finally found the greatest hygienist Tatiana. I would never leave either of the two. Or the practice. They even helped me out after a personal family issue recently where money became very tight and still is as they now offer different plans, especially for someone like me who needs to be seen and get checked by a dentist and hygienist every 3-6 months. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere or anyone else. And my cousin is also a dentist and orthodontist nearby and I still stayed here. Though like I said previously, everyone who works there is great. Even the staff behind the desk are unbelievably friendly and helpful. That’s big for me. And I’ve also never seen a cleaner office which also offers snacks and drinks in the waiting room! Try them out and I promise you will NOT be disappointed. Only surprised that everything I’ve said is true and probably beyond that even.

Everything in this office is so well organized, and the processes from treatment plans to insurance payments, setting up interest free payment solutions, to scheduling appointments is so stress free because the staff members are all true professionals! I never thought I’d say this but, I look forward to going to the dentist now! I’m always greeted with a warm friendly smile and everyone there is very personable. With that being said my anxiety level was thru the roof as you can imagine. What a great group of people everyone made me feel like they cared about my fears and wanted to take them away from me so I can do what I need to do . Fantastic experience: The staff is incredibly friendly, and all provide a greeting to you as soon and you come through the door. Dr. Woltmann and his Staff are always knowledgeable, use the latest technological advances and equipment, and they always take the time to explain everything to me in terms that I can understand. They always take the time to FULLY go over my dental health in a professional and positive manner. They work with my Periodontist and his office, and they follow up extensively. At the end of every visit, a Staff member goes over my bill, fully explaining the charges. I receive the same courtesy when exiting as I did entering. They always make me feel completely comfortable. I will NEVER go anywhere else, and I do tell all of my friends and family to visit - you won't be sorry - I absolutely guarantee it.

Dr. James Woltmann, our trusted dentist, prioritizes careful restoration and only addresses necessary issues. Remarkably, my first visit consolidated treatments that previously took weeks. Dr. Woltmann, a fellow boating and fishing enthusiast, is also a genuine friend and new grandfather, like us with our two grandsons. His warm smile and authenticity shine through. Greater Long Island Dental is simply outstanding!

Negative experience: 03/2025: Update - i feel it is necessary to make an update to my first post. You should be careful about all the extras they do during the visit because it will cost you more when checking out. Also, if you are already seeing a periodontist for cleanings, they feel that they too need to perform a periodontal cleaning, yet that is not what you will get. They charged me $275 for a cleaning that they said was a "periodontal" cleaning, but it was definitely not. The girl behind the counter proceeded to speak very loudly for the other patient's in the office to hear and say "Ma'am you have periodontal disease and we HAVE TO do a periodontal cleaning here too". First of all, i think you broke a HIPAA violation there, and second of all, that is completely not true and just a way for them to charge double the amount for the cleaning. I will never go back to this office again. I am a new patient of Dr. Backer and was able to get in the next day when I broke a tooth. It was very traumatic for me as it was a first for me and I didn't know what to expect. She was able to fix the tooth without having to do a crown and made me feel very relaxed through the entire experience. The entire staff are extremely friendly and professional especially Jocelyn who was the dental assistant. I know I made the right decision in making them my new dentist.

Negative experience: Low income folks, stay away! They will leave you with unfinished root canals and overcharge payment agreements. I was a client here years ago (2017/2018), I had to have emergency dental work done due to an accident. Not only is this dental office extremely overpriced, when I could no longer afford the services they just left me with unfinished work (they performed a root canal but did not install a crown - which is dangerous!) Despite knowing I couldn't afford it, they started the procedure anyway and did not inform me they wouldn't complete it until afterwards. I stopped seeing this dentist and since then, I've been on a payment plan to repay the balance I incurred. The previous card they had on file expired so on Friday, March 23, 2025 the office called me to get new card information. We agreed to continue the same repayment plan as before ($50/month because I cannot afford more), however I received a notification from my credit card servicer that a payment was declined! Hmm, seemed strange for a $50 payment... Upon inspection I found that the office took it upon themselves to charge the ENTIRE $1300 remaining balance at once!! Thank God I gave them my credit card instead of my debit card because I was protected. I called them back and the woman just nonchalantly responded with "oh yeah my mistake sorry" as if she didn't just try to rob me of $1300, which would have bankrupted me and left me unable to pay for bills or food for my family. This is completely unacceptable. I'm a person not just a wallet! For them to make that major of a "mistake" and then not even care is disgusting. Edit to add since they replied: it had not been a year of no contact, thats an exaggeration in an attempt to discredit my review. 5 months went unpaid (Oct-Feb) and I answered their call the first time they called. In regards to their statement, "we cannot force anyone to return for treatment when it's incomplete", they never attempted to finish the work that they started, that's a blatant lie. They refused further treatment unless I paid the outstanding balance in full. I cried in the office when they sprung that on me AFTER having done half the procedure. The only time they've contacted me since leaving me with an unfinished root canal is to collect payments. They clearly do not care about the health or wellbeing of their patients after treatment and their reply to this review solidifies that.

Fantastic experience: I came to Greater Long Island Dental in I believe 2007. It has been a great experience! My dental hygienist Joy has been cleaning my teeth for a number of years. I just found out she is going to retire but still keep working one day a week starting in March. Im not willing to share her....lol. i dont know wha ty im going to do when she fully retires. Fantastic experience: The service at Greater Long Island Dental is exceptional! I went in for a same day crown, they created the crown right there, on site while they prepped my tooth. While in the chair, Sadi (the assistant) set me up with nice jazz music and the back massager, while prepping me for Dr. Backer. Dr. Backer is very attentive and even reached out that evening to check in on how I was doing after a day with the crown in. I would definitely recommend Greater Long Island Dental for a great experience and great dental work. Update: I cracked my tooth and Greater Long Island Dental squeezed me in IMMEDIATELY! Dr. Woltmann was quick and gentle. Jacky was my dental assistant and made it go by so smoothly and answered all questions I had. Although it took time to make a new crown, between Jacky and Dr. Woltmann, time flew by and I walked out with a new crown all in the same afternoon. One trip and everything was covered. Great experience every time I come.

Fantastic experience: More like an enjoyable visit to a dental spa than to a dental office. Extremely nice dentist and personnel. Very welcoming. Interested in your comfort and concerns. But also respectful of any concerns. Decided to try them because they use modern dentistry techniques such as onlays/inlays, (that save more tooth than a crown). They also use ozone that kills the germs and any necrotic debris that can cause problems. They also use proper technique with oxygen for your safety when necessary to remove an old mercury filling. They take a wonderful 3-D graphic image of your teeth, that can spin around any which way, to show you what needs to be done. They explain everything and answer all your questions and concerns. They also mill a crown in-house while you wait, so no second visit is necessary. This is handy since I live 50 minutes away.

The entire staff was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and catering. Dr. Backer gave me a very comprehensive and detailed explanation of what's going on with my oral health, just based off of a basic exam and photos, better than any dentist has ever given to me.
