Negative experience: Parking is a NIGHTMARE - Stay Away !! The main dentist, durfman, is like a PATHETIC "used car salesman" trying to UP-SELL services. Plenty of other options out there.

Fantastic experience: I had a check up with Dr. Garrett Hawley. I actually found him when the Instagram algorithm suggested him to me lol. Since I just moved to Los Angeles, I was looking for a dentist anyway. When I met him, I was at first intimidated or taken aback because he was so good looking, but he is actually a very warm and friendly dentist. His bedside manner was exemplary. He took pains immediately to make me feel comfortable such as playing music from his iPad when the office computer sound system was down. He took pains to ask me about my life and concerns about my teeth. When he was examining my teeth he was quite efficient and had a light touch (I know the scraping tool freaks everyone out but he was really gentle). Also I really, really appreciate him showing me my x-rays to show why he felt my treatment plan was necessary. I felt involved in the decision making process and he reduced the mystery and fear of the pending treatment. He seemed open to the idea of complementary/holistic therapy like taking Vitamin C or calcium for oral health. There is something called a White Coat effect where patients feel stressed around their healthcare provider, but I actually felt he took all the tension and stress out of the dental visit by his warm and personable approach. I definitely would recommend him to friends or roommates in the future.

Fantastic experience: Where I come from, when you go to see a dentist, you don’t expect surprises. You expect quality hygienic and aesthetic services. I was used to issues being dealt with effectively and in a manner that appeases—or is at least sensitive to—patient concerns, regardless of whether those concerns are rational or not. I realize now the overall US dental landscape offers quality falling well below my expectations. Over the past few years, I learned there are freakshows out there. Wackos, vampires, robots. People who should not possess a license to practice dentistry. People who don’t know how or don’t care to offer heartfelt sympathies. When I moved to LA, when it came to dentists, I was incredibly naive. The three I saw before seeing Dr. Dorfman are summarized as follows: (1) decent, but concerning in how he handled a cavity and the outcome of my tooth; (2) unprofessional, bordering on a nightmare—the guy scraped my teeth with such intensity that I had mouth and gum pain for days; (3) an actual nightmare—a guy who destroyed my front tooth and smile. When I saw (3), I went in merely seeking bonding to fill a slight gap between one of my top two front teeth to make them even. The dentist proceeded to add bonding, unevenly, and then kept reducing the bonding to the point where he reduced actual tooth/enamel and left remnants of glue or whatever adhesive on various portions of my front teeth. He was also rude and pushy. You can imagine my trauma. My shattered sense of security. Afterward, I made sure I would never make a mistake like that ever again. I did my research and found Dr. Dorfman. And boy was I lucky I found him. I am not trying to blow smoke up your rear. If you’re reading this, know that Dr. Dorfman is legit. Do your own research. But this testimonial is intended to at least help pacify any high-level skepticisms you may have. As to my bonding issue, Dr. Dorfman dealt with it directly and with exacting precision. He went in, evened the teeth, smoothed out the sandpaper-like residue left from the last dentist, and used all his other wizard-dentistry skills to make sure my smile was fixed perfectly. I was so happy I could cry. My self-esteem fully restored. Mind you, the price was very fair and reasonable. Later, I saw his office again for a cleaning: the staff were patient, professional, and skilled. I never felt rushed or hurried. I never felt like anyone was cutting corners or trying to pull a fast one. They simply go above and beyond. One more detail: after Dr. Dorfman fixed my front teeth, due to either eating something hard or an issue with my mouth guard (can’t recall), the bonding chipped. No big deal. Dr. Dorfman fixed it in a flash. He also noticed I had slightly uneven bottom teeth and used a tool to make an adjustment such that they were straighter in appearance and also no longer impacting my mouthguard/bite. I can’t recall if I chipped my tooth a second time or if it just happened once, but Dr. Dorfman chose not to charge me for a new mouthguard that I needed after he made the adjustments to help with the bite (I think the concern was the old guard could be contributing to the chipped tooth). Some people may expect that decision as a matter of course, but Dr. Dorfman could have easily charged me for a new one if he wanted (which I would have happily paid) but recognized I had recently paid for the first one—a decision I really appreciated from him and his office. Dr. Dorfman also gave me a copy of his book. Granted, I still haven’t read it (I know; I am pushing to do this before Christmas). But my point is, that’s yet another nice gesture that sets him and his office apart. Dr. Dorfman is an all around professional, a no-nonsense, let’s fix or optimize these teeth, kind of guy. But also someone who is very pleasant to deal with, which makes a difference. I apologize for how long this is, I just wanted to show how grateful I am to Dr. Dorfman and his staff. My smile looks great, and I can’t wait to see them again. If you’re unsure of who to see, I hope you pick them too. They will not disappoint!

Fantastic experience: Ara is the best dental hygienist! She is knowledgeable and skilled, and she is a lovely person. I feel like my teeth are in great hands, and I am OCD about my teeth so that is the highest compliment. Century City Aesthetic Dentistry is a very upscale aesthetic dentistry office but with a family office vibe that I love.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr. Bill Dorfman and his amazing hygienists for over ten years now and it's always a comfortable, non-stressful experience. The office is on the 16th floor in Beverly Hills with beautiful views from the dental rooms, the staff are welcoming and friendly and the hygienists are first rate! But what impresses me the most about Dr. Dorfman is all the charitable and philanthropic work he's involved in, including the LEAP Leadership and Entrepreneurship Program he founded for teens (my son will probably attend this summer) and the beautiful "new smiles" make-overs he performs for patients with cleft lips and/or cleft palates. Dr. Dorfman and his staff are providing dental care for my teenaged son now too, who appreciates having white, healthy, clean teeth!

Fantastic experience: A root canal shattered my front tooth and they had to pull it. I was beside myself. An oral surgeon pulled it and did bone grafting. One month before they were going to place the screw for my implant the oral surgeon called me and said there was complications and he couldn't do the work on my mouth. I did my research and found Dr. Bill Dorfman! How BLESSED I am I found him. I flew to LA to have him to do the work he said he was confident he could do it! The whole team was patient with my concerns and tears. Dr.Dorfman is caring, gentle, and honest. He is not out to take your money. He is being conservative and only doing the necessary work my teeth need while listening to my desires. He is expensive but you are paying for the best! They work with you on financing too. I CANT recommend him enough! If I could give him 15 stars I would! Thank you Dr. Dorfman!!!

I was quite shocked because he was the 4th dentist and they all tried to offer me dental services that did not fit my situation. Another pleasant surprise was that he gave me a copy of his Billion Dollar Smile book and he autographed it personally to me. I’m so impressed. I am so excited and can’t wait to provide an update.

Fantastic experience: I needed a crown in my front tooth and it had to be perfect .Another dentist told me it couldn't be done without a long and uncomfortable process . I met Dr Dorfman and he confidently told me that he has done this procedure countless times and the process of extraction ,bone grafting , will go smoothly with limited time to eventually get my crown . I didn't hesitate for him to schedule and start the procedure after my consultation I have to tell you everything went amazing and he got a perfect match . Fantastic experience: Dr Bill Dorfman is a giant in the dental industry and one of the most prominent clinicians in the world. He is still practising which demonstrates his passion for the profession. It’s a wonder he has time to devote to speaking, mentoring, advising and encouraging but he makes time and having had the privilege to listen to him speak in England a number of times now, he never fails to impress. He is clearly very knowledgeable due to his expansive experience but he is very amiable, relatable and honest when lecturing which is refreshing and extremely helpful.

Fantastic experience: Well, there is a reason this practice is the top in the country.  From the moment you walk in, you can see the perfectly manicured details of a top tier dental office, from the entire staff to the equipment and setup.  Heads-up, I'm extremely (honestly, extremely) picky with who I let work on my teeth, and I cannot imagine going anywhere other than Century City Aesthetic Dentistry.  Dr Bill is beyond talented, I've seen him since I moved to LA, and then had the pleasure of Dr. McCrackin working on me, and it was also so flawless, her attention to detail was at such an elevated level, I just can't get over the results, thank you!

Negative experience: I had my initial appointment with Dr Dorfman. It went great! Told me everything I wanted to hear to fix my teeth. I was sold. Came back for my next appointment and I never saw him again. I was actually assigned to another dentist in another smaller office in the same building. Kind of made me feel like I didn’t fit the image they were looking for to have sitting in their waiting room. Anyway, kept going to my appointments in the smaller office until the end. I received my retainer that didn’t fit so she made it fit with some adjustments and said they would make me a new one. When I asked about the other procedures Dr Dorfman and I had discussed at our initial appointment, she said that was extra. That was NOT made clear to me. Dr. Dorfman wrote out all the procedures on a piece of paper with a total amount and handed it to me. When I brought this up to them, it made no difference. They would not honor it.

Negative experience: First, before my initial consultation they asked me to bring my previous x-rays so that I wouldn't have to take new ones there. I did so, but they deemed them "not good enough" and charged me to take a whole new set anyway. (For the record, they were totally good enough. My previous dentist who had provided them confirmed afterwards, and said he didn't know what the hell they're talking about to say that.) Second, during my consultation the dentist spent most of the time focusing on other stuff than what I was actually asking for, trying to upsell me. Third, I sent a very simple follow-up question by email the day after and they completely ghosted me.

Negative experience: I was a patient here for 3 years from 2010 to 2013. . Dr Bill was great and friendly on my initial consultation, I was on a TV show so I decided to spend the money and go for the best dentist I could find, but I rarely saw him again. . I paid $7500 for invisalign treatment that lasted 3 years and they barely addressed the issues I went in with but told me I was an extreme case that needed intensive treatment to justify the expense. When I finished the treatment I still had to have bonding to fix the issues at extra expense and I’m still dissatisfied with how they look. I was given an unnecessary back filling by a dentist who stared in the mirror more than he looked in my mouth. I’d never had a filling before and I suspect I didn’t need this one. I was frequently pressured that I would need my wisdom teeth taken out. I refused, they are still fine and give me no issues. The last straw came when I went for an appointment and it had been cancelled. I made a fuss so they offered me a free teeth clean. The hygienist, an older white lady, was aggressive and sadistic with my teeth and then patronizing. I was in a lot of pain and she offered no pain relief, she seemed to enjoy my discomfort and patted me on the cheek and spoke in a baby voice to me when I said it hurt. Knowing what I know now about racial prejudice in the medical industry I should have got her fired. I haven’t been to a dentist for 8 years now because of this experience, I wish I had sued them. Plus this dentist is high up in a medical building, you have to deal with all sorts of weird negative people and energies in the elevator. And you are charged $9 for every 15 mins you go over the initial hour. So be prepared to drop $30 on parking. Go to this dentist if you’re an old white person with unlimited funds, it’s probably ideal for you. They only care about money. I suspect that all the rave reviews on here are from people who have been paid to write them.

Fantastic experience: Visiting the dentist is never the highlight of my day however, I always feel delighted to see Dr. Johnson and the rest of the crew. They are warm and inviting and manage to assuage all my anxieties. Dr. Johnson is kind, considerate, and respectful of my budget. I have found dental nirvana.

Fantastic experience: Terrified of visiting the dentist - avoid it at all costs. Had visited and called a number of dentists in Los Angeles and this one won overall. The initial call to make the appointment the staff were super helpful - asked all the right questions and reassured me it would be a great experience. Arrived today to an on time appointment and everyone I met from getting x rays to initial in mouth consultation to my cleaning was more than amazing, friendly and great at their job. Looking forward to going back next week and for follow ups to come. Thank you again !

Fantastic experience: Flew all the way from Oregon because of the amazing reviews and recommendations in this office. It was the most incredible experience! Everyone was so professional and kind. They made this experience comfortable and I adore everyone in here. Huge huge thank you to the staff and especially to Dr. Johnson, Dr. Dorfman and Sennette for taking good of us Oregon gals!!!! Fantastic experience: My first time there for a cleaning and I was very happy leaving the clinic. The location is conveniently central, the clinic is clean and tasteful and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It was easy for me to book an appointment considering how popular they are and my wait time was very reasonable upon arrival. Dr. Johnson did my cleaning and he was thorough, gentle, professional and an expert. If you're looking for a dentist - this is the place!

Fantastic experience: I came with my wife once and I’ve been hooked ever since. Not only is it the most professionally ran office, but it’s filled with many friendly faces with big smiles. Dr Dorfman’s skills speak for themself! Trained at UCLA he has demonstrated that he is a leader in the field of dentistry. Beside the occasional cleaning, X-rays, whiting and a new crown now and then, I’ve received excellent services for my overall dental hygiene and couldn’t be happier with my smile thanks to him

Fantastic experience: I love this office. All the doctors and staff are super friendly. I moved to LA from NYC a few months ago and was looking for a dentist. This is world-class facility with all the latest tech, etc. The only issue to watch out for is the amount of time it takes to get here (traffic) and to park here (only valet option is available). Please try to get here 30 min before your appointment to ensure timely arrival.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Johnson; I went to see Dr. Dorfman, little did I know that my appointmnet was with Dr. Johnson. Since I couldn't find him on their site to read about him or see reviews I was nervous to have him work on my front teeth that had some chips. The front desk was very nice to let me meet him befor I decide whether I would like him to fix my tooth or not. I was pleasantly surprised when he walked in, he has great bedside manner, very kind, perfect teeth and quite handsome ( Irrelevant but doesn't hurt)! So I decided to give it a try and I'm blown away by the result. You can never tell I had work done. It is so perfect that I just love it and keep looking at it. I've never had a better cosmetic job done than today and although It was a 3hr drive each way I'm certainly going back. Thank you Dr. Johnson, I feel pretty today! Ladan

Fantastic experience: If you’re nervous about visiting a dentist, Dr Bill Is the person you need to see. He’s extremely talented but more importantly, makes you feel at ease in his office. Would highly recommend to anyone who’s searching for a new dental office in Los Angeles. 10/10
